Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to the field of sanitary appliances and in particular sanitary elements such as shower trays and bathtubs.
It relates more particularly sanitary elements of the aforementioned type having an integrated sealing system to ensure effective sealing with a wall bracket or a floor.
The sanitary element of this second category is characterized by the fact that, on at least a part of its length, the edge of the sanitary element has a rim which protrudes on said edge of the sanitary element so as to bring back water that wets said rim to the bottom of the bowl. Thanks to this feature, water splashes that wet the edge of the sanitary element always flow back to the bottom of the bowl and therefore can never create a source of moisture, infiltration or water leakage along from the edge of the sanitary element.
However, practice shows that the effectiveness of such a double-barrier system is certainly effective but remains difficult to put into practice because of the rear thickness of the edge up against the wall (about 4 to 5 mm) . As in the solutions proposed above, we observe the same difficulty related to the coordination and the taking of responsibility between the sanitarist and the tiler. The evolution in design imposes other solutions applicable to all situations and different types of surface finishes (tiles, vinyl, mineral, marble, solid surface, etc.).
In addition, this system generates production mold costs of very important health elements given the large number of possibilities.
The invention aims to provide a product that does not have the drawbacks of the state of the art.
In particular, the invention aims to provide a health element that provides a clear rule to the problem of the responsibility of execution through the technical features of the product that allow a linear implementation of the implementation mode.
The current problem of the market is that the sanitary element is already placed when the tiler comes to realize its tightness. For the first family (A) above, there is no fixed junction between the sanitary element and the wall support, which is fundamental to guarantee a perfect seal or the junction is carried out using an element flexible for which the responsibility of laying is not clearly attributed to the sanitarist or tiler. Regarding the second family (B), the difficulty lies in the fact that an effective junction is not easy because the overshoot due to the thickness of the rising edge of the sanitary element does not allow an ideal finish for the tiler. The different materials do not allow a perfect bonding over time, which is fundamental to ensure a long-lasting seal.
The present invention relates to a prefabricated sanitary element forming a bowl comprising an edge, characterized in that on at least one side of the bowl, the periphery of said edge comprises a sealing membrane and a flexible joint, both integral or pre -Mounted to the sanitary element, the sealing membrane being fixed around the edge of said edge by means of the flexible seal. Preferably, the flexible seal is an adhesive connecting the sanitary element and the waterproofing membrane. The connection between the sanitary element and a wall support or the floor is made by means of a waterproofing membrane and a flexible joint allowing adjustment to the possible movements between the two types of materials. The term "bowl" is not limited to sanitary elements with marked depression. It also includes sanitary elements with a gentle slope to the drainage area, as is the case with walk-in showers.
The invention also relates to the use of the sanitary element for the placement of a shower tray or a bath.
- le bord de la cuvette est recourbé vers le bas de manière à s'adapter contre un mur, une paroi ou au sol. De manière préférée, la membrane d'étanchéité et le joint souple sont fixés sur la partie externe du bord de la cuvette recourbé vers le bas. Alternativement, la membrane d'étanchéité et le joint souple sont fixés sur la partie externe et sur la partie interne du bord de la cuvette recourbé vers le bas;
- le bord de la cuvette est essentiellement horizontal (c'est-à-dire non recourbé vers le bas ou vers le haut) de manière à s'adapter contre un mur, une paroi ou au sol. Le terme « essentiellement horizontal » signifie que le bord de la cuvette peut présenter une légère pente vers la zone d'évacuation des eaux, comme c'est le cas pour les douches à l'italienne. De manière préférée, la membrane d'étanchéité et le joint souple sont fixés à l'extrémité du bord essentiellement horizontal. Alternativement, la membrane d'étanchéité et le joint souple sont fixés à l'extrémité du bord essentiellement horizontal et sur la partie inférieure du bord essentiellement horizontal;
- le joint souple est de type butyle ou colle;
- la membrane d'étanchéité est constituée d'une couche interne étanche à l'eau et de une ou deux couches externes en matériau non tissé. De préférence, la couche interne est en polyéthylène et la ou les couches externe sont en polypropylène ;
- l'épaisseur de la membrane d'étanchéité est comprise entre 0,1 et 1 mm ;
- the edge of the bowl is bent downward to fit against a wall, wall or floor. Preferably, the sealing membrane and the flexible seal are fixed on the outer portion of the edge of the bowl curved downwards. Alternatively, the sealing membrane and the flexible seal are fixed on the outer part and on the inner part of the edge of the bowl bent downwards;
- the edge of the bowl is essentially horizontal (i.e., not curved downward or upward) so as to fit against a wall, wall or floor. The term "essentially horizontal" means that the edge of the bowl may slope slightly towards the drainage area, as is the case for walk-in showers. Preferably, the sealing membrane and the flexible seal are attached to the end of the substantially horizontal edge. Alternatively, the waterproofing membrane and the flexible seal are attached to the end of the substantially horizontal edge and to the bottom of the substantially horizontal edge;
- the flexible seal is of butyl type or glue;
- the waterproofing membrane consists of a watertight inner layer and one or two outer layers of nonwoven material. Preferably, the inner layer is made of polyethylene and the outer layer or layers are made of polypropylene;
- the thickness of the sealing membrane is between 0.1 and 1 mm;
- the waterproofing membrane is extended for at least 5 cm at at least one of its ends outside the secured portion or pre-mounted to the sanitary element. Preferably, the extension of the waterproofing membrane is between 5 and 30 cm.
The sanitary element is preferably constituted by a molded piece and having a prefabricated base provided with the necessary pipe elements, secured to the bowl.
The material chosen for the bowl of the sanitary element is preferably a thermoformable resin acrylate type which can be thin. The use of enamelled stamped sheet metal, cast resin or other elements, even ceramic materials, is still possible.
The material intended to form the base integral with the bowl is advantageously a resin in the form of a foam, for example expanded polystyrene or EPS.

- The sanitary element and its pre-assembled sealing system guarantee a perfect sealing barrier for the sanitary element and the wall support, regardless of the type of wall covering and regardless of the type of materials of the sanitary element. With the realization of the silicone seal, the assembly constitutes a double barrier of sealing. The first barrier being defined by the silicone seal or seal finish may see its properties deteriorate rapidly while the second comprising the waterproofing membrane and the flexible seal will undergo no change in its properties over time.
- The technical characteristics of the sanitary element allow a linear execution of the implementation. Indeed, the sanitarist deals with the placement of the sanitary element and the connection of the piping. The tiler deals with the joining of the sealing membrane of the sanitary element to the wall support or the floor and carries out the finishing joint.
- The thin and semi-flexible thickness (approx. 0.4 mm) of the sealing system mounted on the sanitary element gives the possibility to any finish of the wall bracket or the floor and guarantees absolute tightness of the whole .
- The waterproofing membrane comprises a watertight inner layer acting as a vapor barrier (for example polyethylene) and one or two outer layers of nonwoven material (for example polypropylene) to promote attachment to the wall wall or floor. This guarantees a perfect connection with the same product characteristics as wall sealing according to the ETAG 022 standards. In fact, the sealing kits for wet closed rooms are framed by the ETAG 022 standards established by the EOTA (European Organization for Technical Approval). ETAG 022 establishes a series of tests demonstrating the resistance of a sealing system to the stresses caused by the movements of the building elements, due to the effect of water, temperature variations and alkalinity of the substrates and cement-based adhesives.
- Thus, the pre-assembled sanitary element of the invention, by ensuring a perfect sealing barrier between the sanitary element and the support against which it is placed (wall, wall, floor), could be part of the framework. the establishment of a new standard for junction sealing, this standard does not currently exist.
- The sealing system allows good aging of the assembly, thanks to the perfect connection between the sanitary element, the waterproofing membrane and the flexible seal.
- The installation of the sanitary element and the wall finish is done by a finer seal and therefore more aesthetic, and in case of separation of the latter, the concept will not cause unpleasant infiltration causing major damage .
- The aging of the sanitary element or the settlement of the building have no influence on the effectiveness of the seal as well as on the aesthetics of the finish (low expansion possible).
- The ground connection of the sanitary element can be done ideally by a monobloc EPS structure that perfectly matches the shapes of the sanitary element and avoids bending of the longitudinal sides. Stand supports and side wall brackets can also be used.
