- a reinforcement ring is provided which is connected to the cover skirt by the upper end of the reinforcement ring and the cover skirt being rolled inward together.
- the reinforcing ring has a bead that extends radially inward.
- the reinforcement ring is cylindrical below the cover plate with the exception of the bead.
- the invention seeks to provide an improved multi-piece lid made from paper material and an improved method of making a multi-piece lid made from paper material.
- a multi-part cover made of a paper material with the features of claim 1 is provided for this purpose. It is a multi-part lid made of a paper material with a one-piece base body, which has a lid plate and a lid collar extending all the way around the lid plate, the lid collar extending upwards away from the container when it is placed on a container to be closed, and with a reinforcing ring , which is connected to the cover collar by means of a peripheral frame, is provided, in which the reinforcing ring has a circumferential bead in a region below the cover plate, ie on a side of the cover plate opposite the cover collar.
- a multi-part cover made of a paper material which on the one hand has a simple structure and on the other hand can also be made stable.
- a surrounding frame forms a shoulder running around in the circumferential direction, which can then be used for hooking the lid onto a mouth roll of a container to be closed. As a result, the lid sits securely on a container to be closed.
- a frame is a section of the reinforcement ring that is folded over by 180° and then pressed.
- the peripheral frame is folded over below the cover plate by 180° and then comes to lie again on the material of the reinforcement ring. This frame only achieves a thickening of the reinforcement ring in its lower section, but no two components are connected to one another.
- the reinforcement ring is connected to the cover collar of the base body with the surrounding frame of the reinforcement ring above the cover plate.
- the reinforcement ring at its upper end is also used for this purpose folded over by 180°, but the lid collar is then received between the two layers of material of the folded-over reinforcement ring. After pressing and possibly gluing or sealing, the cover collar is then firmly connected to the reinforcement ring.
- a bead encircling the reinforcing ring in the circumferential direction is provided according to the invention.
- a secure hold of the lid according to the invention on a mouth roll of a container to be closed can also be achieved by means of a circumferential bead.
- the rim of the container can, seen here in cross section, have a circular shape or, for example, an oval shape if the rim is pressed flat.
- the term "mouth roll" can be used generally for an upper, reinforced rim of a container, for example a plastic cup with an upper, thickened rim.
- Paper and paper-like materials e.g. B. cardboard, cardboard or the like, also one-sided or double-sided, coated with wax or plastic paper material.
- the coated side of the paper material can be heat sealable.
- the bead extends outwards or inwards in the radial direction.
- a peripheral recess is created on the inside of the reinforcement ring, in which the mouth roll of a container to be closed can then be received in order to latch the lid on the container.
- the bead can be pressed flat, for example, and a suitably shaped latching element is also referred to as a bead.
- the surrounding frame is cylindrical above the cover plate.
- the circumferential frame above the cover plate is an essential element of the multi-part cover according to the invention, since the cover collar of the base body is firmly connected to the reinforcing ring by means of the circumferential frame above the cover plate.
- the formation of this frame in a cylindrical shape facilitates its production, since the frame is easily accessible from both sides for a pressing tool. This applies both to annular frames and frames or covers of any basic shape, for example triangular or rectangular with advantageously rounded corners.
- an inner diameter of the reinforcement ring at the lower edge is larger than an outer diameter of the peripheral frame above the cover.
- the reinforcement ring can be placed with its lower edge on the frame above the cover plate of another cover, so that several covers can be safely stacked on top of each other.
- the reinforcement ring is widened radially outwards in the area of its lower edge.
- a step is inevitably formed above the widening, which can then be used as a stop when a plurality of lids are stacked, in order to prevent a plurality of stacked lids from slipping too far on top of one another and becoming jammed as a result.
- the widening is designed, for example, in the form of an outward step, in order then to form a stop surface for the uppermost edge of the surrounding frame above the cover plate of the respective lower cup.
- the peripheral frame above the cover plate is designed in the shape of a truncated cone and tapers in a direction away from the cover plate.
- the reinforcement ring is frustoconical in the area of its lower edge and widens in a direction away from the cover plate, with an inner diameter of the reinforcement ring at the lower edge being larger than an outer diameter of the surrounding frame at the upper edge.
- the truncated cone-shaped widening lower area of the reinforcement ring can be fitted in a simple manner onto the truncated-cone-shaped tapering frame above the cover plate of the respective lower cover, so that secure stacking is possible.
- the reinforcement ring below the cover plate is provided with a radially outwardly extending, circumferential bead, with an inner diameter of the reinforcement ring at the lower edge being larger than an outer diameter of the reinforcement ring directly above the bead and being smaller than a largest outer diameter in the area the bead.
- the bead forms a stop when several lids are stacked on the one hand, and on the other hand an inside of the outwardly extending bead can snap into place on a container to be closed on the mouth roll of the container, thereby ensuring that the lid is held securely on the container .
- the sequence of the method steps can be changed and, for example, the bead can also be shaped after the reinforcement ring has been connected to the base body.
- a cover 10 not according to the invention with a base body 12 and a reinforcement ring 14 connected to the base body 12 can be seen.
- the lid 10 is placed on a paper cup 16 .
- the one-piece base body 12 consists of a cover plate 18 and a cover collar 20 projecting vertically upwards on the circumference of the cover plate 18.
- the base body 12 thus forms a pot shape that is open at the top, i.e. away from the cup 16 to be closed.
- the reinforcement ring 14 is placed around the circumference of the cover collar 20 and is connected to the cover collar 20 by means of a surrounding frame 22 .
- an upper edge of the cover collar 14 is folded over by 180°, so that the cover collar 20 comes to rest within this cover.
- the three layers of material lying on top of one another are then pressed together and optionally also sealed or glued to one another in order to then form the peripheral frame 22 .
- the frame 22 has a circular-cylindrical shape and is arranged at an angle of 90° to the cover plate 18 . In order to press the frame 22, both sides of the frame 22 are thus easily accessible for a stamp or a similar pressing tool.
- the reinforcing ring 14 initially also runs in a circular-cylindrical manner and is then provided with a surrounding frame 26.
- the peripheral frame 26 at the lower edge of the reinforcement ring 14 is also formed by folding the lower edge by 180° and then pressing it, but the lower frame 26 is not used to connect to another component like the upper frame 22. Rather, the lower Frame 26 and specifically the top edge of the radially inward folded piece of material formed a circumferential shoulder, which is arranged at a constant distance from the cover plate 18.
- a recess is formed between the cover plate 18 and the circumferential shoulder, in which a mouth roll 28 of the cup 16 can be accommodated in sections.
- the lid 10 according to Figures 1 to 5 is structurally simple and inexpensive to manufacture. Both the upper side of the cover plate 18 and the circular-cylindrical outer edge of the reinforcement ring 14 can be printed on in a simple manner.
- An underside of the cover plate 18, which faces the interior of the cup 16 when it is in place, is advantageously coated, for example with plastic or wax, to prevent moisture or liquid from penetrating from the interior of the cup 16 into the paper material of the cover plate 18.
- a paper-like material for example paper, cardboard, cardboard and the like, is regarded as paper material within the meaning of the invention.
- the term paper material also includes paper material coated on at least one side, for example paper material coated with plastic, in particular heat-sealable plastic.
- FIG 6 12 shows a cup 30 not according to the invention according to a further embodiment on the cup 16.
- the lid 30 is similar to the lid 10 of FIG 1 constructed, so that only the different to the cover 10 features are explained below.
- the cover 30 has a one-piece base body 32 and a reinforcing ring 34 placed around the circumference of the base body 32 .
- the base body 12 has a flat cover plate 18 and a cover collar 20 angled towards the cover plate 18 .
- the cover collar 20 encloses an angle of less than 90° with the cover plate 18, so that the cover collar 20 has the shape of a tapering truncated cone.
- the reinforcement ring 14 is connected to the cover collar 20 by means of a peripheral frame 36 which is formed by folding the upper edge of the reinforcement ring 34 through 180° and receiving the cover collar 40 in the pocket formed thereby and then pressing it.
- the upper skirt 36 has the shape of a tapered truncated cone, with an outer diameter of the skirt 26 decreasing in a direction away from the top panel 38 .
- the reinforcement ring 34 is then of cylindrical design, in order to then merge into a lower frame 38, which is also formed by a 180° turn of the lower edge of the reinforcement ring 34.
- a shoulder is formed by the lower frame 38, which snaps under the mouth roll 28 of the cup 16 when the lid 30 is in place, as already illustrated in FIG Figures 1 to 5 and was explained with reference to the lid 10.
- the lower skirt 38 of the reinforcing ring 34 is frustoconical, and a diameter of the lower skirt 38 increases in a direction away from the top plate 38 .
- the inner diameter of the lower frame 38 is selected to be slightly larger than or equal to the outer diameter of the upper frame 36, so that several of the lids 30 can be stacked on top of each other, as in FIG 9 and 10 can be seen.
- the lower frame 38 of a respective upper lid 30 sits in the stacked state of several lids 30, see 10 , On the outside of the upper frame 36 of the respective lower cover 30.
- the frustoconical design of both the lower frame 38 and the upper frame 36 prevent several stacked lids from slipping too far on top of each other and thereby jamming.
- the frustoconical The formation of the lower frame 38 and the upper frame 36 makes it possible to stack numerous lids 30 without the resulting stack becoming unstable. Nevertheless, as has been explained, the covers 30 can be separated again easily and reliably.
- the representation of 11 shows a cover 50 not according to the invention according to a further embodiment with a one-piece base body 52 and a reinforcing ring 54 on the circumference of the base body 52.
- the cover 50 is in 11 placed on the cup 16.
- the lid 50 is very similar to the lid 30 of FIG Figures 6 to 10 constructed so that only the components different from the cover 30 will be explained.
- the main body 52 is special, see 12 and 13 , Identical to the base body 32 of the cover 30 of Figures 6 to 10 built up.
- the reinforcing ring 54 is initially circular-cylindrical below the cover plate 58 of the base body 52 , this circular-cylindrical area still extending into the area of the lower frame 58 on the reinforcing ring 54 .
- the lower frame 58 is angled in its course. Proceeding from the cover plate 58, the frame is initially circular-cylindrical and then widens in the shape of a truncated cone until the lowermost edge of the frame 58 is reached, which at the same time forms the lowermost edge of the cover 50.
- lids 50 can be stacked one on top of the other, with the lid 50 in the same way as the lid 30 of FIG Figures 6 to 10 are stackable.
- the representation of 16 shows a lid 60 not according to the invention according to a further embodiment of the invention with a one-piece base body 62 and a reinforcing ring 64 arranged on the circumference of the base body 62.
- the lid 60 is placed on the cup 16.
- the base body 62 has a flat cover plate 68 and a cover collar 70 angled perpendicularly to the cover plate 68 .
- the cover collar 70 is connected to the reinforcement ring 64 by means of an upper peripheral frame 72 .
- the formation of the upper frame 72 and thus the connection to the base body 62 is identical to that of the cover 10 of FIG Figures 1 to 5 educated.
- the reinforcing ring 64 then runs in a circular-cylindrical manner, and a lower frame 76 is formed on the lower edge of the reinforcing ring 64.
- the frame 76 has a widening.
- the frame 76 runs in a direction away from the cover plate 68 initially as a circular cylinder, then its diameter increases in the shape of a truncated cone, and then as far as the lowermost edge of the reinforcement ring 64 again as a circular cylinder, but with a larger diameter than immediately adjacent to the cover plate 68 to get lost.
- the frame 76 thus forms a shoulder which, on the one hand, makes it easier to slide the lid 60 onto the cup 16 and, on the other hand, ensures that several lids 60 can be stacked very well.
- an inner diameter of the lower frame 76 in its lowest, circular-cylindrical area is slightly larger than or equal to an outer diameter of the circular-cylindrical upper frame 72.
- a lid can be pushed with the lower frame 76 onto the upper frame 72 of a lower lid, until the upper edge of the upper skirt 72 abuts the shoulder formed by the truncated cone in the lower skirt 76 of the upper cover 60.
- This step on the inside of the lower frame 76 of the reinforcing ring 64 thereby prevents the respective upper cover 60 from slipping too far onto the respective lower cover 60 and the cover from jamming as a result.
- the shoulder 78 along the lower frame 76 of the reinforcing ring 64 defines a stop for the upper frame 72 of the respective lower lid when a plurality of lids 60 are stacked.
- FIG. 21 shows a lid 80 according to the invention according to an embodiment of the invention with a one-piece base body 82 and a reinforcing ring 84 on the periphery of the base body 82.
- the lid 80 is placed on a cup 16.
- the base body 82 has a flat cover plate 88 and a cover collar 90 bent off from the cover plate 88 .
- the cover collar 90 encloses an angle of less than 90 degrees with the cover plate 88 .
- the cover collar 90 is connected to the reinforcement ring 84 by means of a peripheral upper frame 92 which has a truncated cone shape tapering away from the cover plate 88 .
- the reinforcement ring 84 Immediately below the cover plate 88, the reinforcement ring 84 has a circumferential, radially outwardly extending bead 86, which is designed in the shape of a segment of a circle and is adapted to the outer diameter of the mouth roll 28 of the cup 16. Below the bead 86 the reinforcement ring 84 is then designed in the shape of a truncated cone, with a diameter of the reinforcement ring 84 expanding below the bead 86 in a direction away from the cover plate 88 .
- the lid 80 can thus be pushed onto the lip 28 in a simple manner and the reinforcing ring 84 widens as a result of this pushing-on process until the lip 28 snaps into the bead 86 and the lid 80 is thereby fixed on the cup 16 .
- the top of the bead 86 also serves as a stop when several covers 80 are stacked.
- the bead 86 thereby prevents the upper cover 80 in each case from slipping too far onto the lower cover 80 in each case and the covers 80 thereby jamming in the stacked state.
- FIG. 26 shows a lid 100 according to a further embodiment of the invention with a one-piece base body 102 and a reinforcing ring 104 on the periphery of the base body 102.
- the lid 100 is placed on the cup 16.
- the lid 100 is essentially identical to the lid 80 of FIG Figures 21 to 25 constructed, so that only the differences to the cover 80 are explained.
- the reinforcement ring 104 is provided at its lower edge with a lower frame 106, which is formed by turning over the lower edge of the reinforcement ring 104 by 180 degrees and subsequent pressing.
- the reinforcing ring 104 runs in the shape of a truncated cone, also in the area of the lower frame 106.
- a diameter of the lower frame 106 widens in a direction away from the base body 102 or its cover plate.
- An inwardly projecting shoulder is formed below the bead 108 by the lower frame 106 .
- the upper edge of the lower frame 106 therefore first snaps behind the mouth roll 28 of the cup 16 and is thus already secured to the cup 16. If the lid 100 is then pressed further in the direction of the cup, the mouth roll 28 snaps into the circumferential bead 108 in order to attach the lid 100 to the cup 16 particularly securely.
- Figures 31 to 35 show a lid 130 according to the invention, which is placed on the cup 16 and which differs only slightly from that in the Figures 26 to 30 lid 100 shown differs.
- the radially outwardly extending bead 138 is arranged slightly closer to the cover plate of the base body 132 of the cover 130 according to the invention. After the lid 130 has been placed on the cup 16 and the lip 28 of the cup has snapped into the bead 138 from the inside, the outer edge of the cover plate of the base body 132 rests on top of the lip 28 .
- a further difference between the lids 100 and 130 is that an upper frame 140 of the lid 130, at which the base body 132 and the reinforcement ring 134 are connected to one another, has an outer diameter which essentially corresponds to the inner diameter of the lower frame 136 of the reinforcement ring 134 is equivalent to.
- the inside of the lower frame 136 of a respective upper cup 130 thereby rests against the outside of the upper frame 140 of the respective lower cup 130 .
- a movement of the respective Upper lid 130 when stacked in the direction of the respective lower cup 130 is stopped by the bottom edge of the lower frame 136 of the respective upper cup 130 hitting the top of the bead 138 of the respective lower lid 130 .
- the representations of 36 to 40 show another embodiment of a lid 150 not according to the invention.
- the lid 150 is similar to the lid 50 of FIG Figures 11 to 15 constructed so that the individual parts of the cover 150 are not explained again, but rather only on the cover 50 of the Figures 11 to 15 different characteristics are referred to.
- the lid 150 has a ring roller 160 which is formed on the upper edge of a reinforcement ring 154 .
- the ring roller 160 describes in the sectional view of 38 starting from the outer edge of the reinforcement ring 154 , an arc of 270° and rests with its end essentially parallel on a cover plate 158 of a base body 152 of the cover 150 .
- the cover plate 158 transitions into a cover collar 162 which is bent away from the cup 16 by a little more than 90° and which rests with its outer peripheral surface on an inner side of the reinforcement ring 154 .
- the cover collar 162 is connected to the cover collar 154, for example glued or sealed.
- the end of the ring roller 160 can also be connected to the cover plate 158, but the end of the ring roller 160 can also rest loosely on the cover plate 158.
- the lower frame 158 of the reinforcing ring 154 is no different from the lower frame 58 of the lid 50 of Figures 11 to 15 .
- FIG. 41 to 45 show another embodiment of a lid 170 according to the invention.
- the lid 170 is similar to the lid 50 of FIG Figures 11 to 15 constructed so that the individual parts of the cover 170 are not explained again, but reference is only made to the cover 50 different components.
- the cover 170 has a radially inwardly extending, flattened bead 180 on its reinforcing ring 174 .
- This flattened bead 180 forms an inwardly protruding projection, which is arranged such that there is a distance between an underside of a flat cover plate 178 of the pot-shaped base body 172 and an upper side of the bead 180, which essentially corresponds to the height of the mouth roll 28 of the cup 16 .
- the section of the reinforcement ring 174 below the lid plate 178 is first expanded radially outwards until the flattened bead 180 snaps under the lip 28 and then at the same time an underside of the lid plate 178 on an upper side of the lip 28 is present.
- the lid 170 is attached particularly securely to the mouth roll 28 of the cup 16 .
- An upper frame 176 with which the reinforcing ring 174 and the base body 172 are connected is identical to that of the cover 50 of FIG Figures 11 to 15 educated.
- a lower skirt 178 of the reinforcement ring 174 is formed by folding the lower edge of the reinforcement ring 174 by 180° and is flared in order to facilitate placement on the lip 28 of the cup 16 .
- a respective upper cover 170 sits with the underside of its flattened bead 180 on the upper edge of the frame 176 of the respective lower cover 170.
- This prevents the lids from slipping too far into one another and becoming wedged as a result.
- An inner diameter of the lower frame 178 of the respective upper lid 170 abuts an outer side of the upper frame 176 of the respective lower lid 170 .
- several lids 170 sit securely on top of one another when stacked.
- Figure 46 shows a cover 110 according to the invention according to a further embodiment of the invention in a view obliquely from below and the figure 47 shows the cover 110 in a view obliquely from above.
- the basic rectangular shape of the cover 110 this is the same as the cover 100 of FIG Figures 26 to 30 formed, so that this structure is not explained again.
- Several of the lids 110 can be stacked and the corners of the basic rectangular shape are each rounded. This facilitates the formation of the upper peripheral frame with which the base body and the reinforcement ring of the cover 110 are connected to one another.
- this rectangular basic shape with rounded corners can also be implemented in a cup and especially in the formation of a mouth roll on the upper edge of such a cup with a rectangular basic shape.
- the representation of figure 48 shows a cover 120 according to a further embodiment of the invention in a view obliquely from below and figure 49 shows the cover 120 in a view obliquely from above.
- the lid 120 is the Figures 48 and 49 same as the lid 110 of Figures 46 and 47 and thus also the same as the lid 100 of Figures 26 to 30 built up. Like these lids, several of the lids 120 are stackable.
- the corners of the triangular basic shape are rounded.
- the base body is first formed from a one-piece paper material blank, the base body being pot-shaped with a cover plate and a cover collar extending all the way around the cover plate. Furthermore, a reinforcing ring is formed from a strip of paper material, in which the strip overlaps in sections and is connected in the region of the overlap.
- the reinforcement ring is provided with a circumferential bead. The circumferential bead is used to create a defined position of the lid when it is placed on a cup with a mouth roll, in that the mouth roll snaps into the bead or behind the bead. A defined position of the lid on the cup is created by the bead and the lid can still be removed from the cup without being destroyed.
- the mouth roll of the mug can seen in cross-section, be circular or oval, in that a mouth roll is flattened.
- the reinforcement ring is connected to the base body by means of a surrounding frame, this frame, which connects the base body to the reinforcement ring, being arranged above the cover plate, i.e. on a side of the cover plate of the base body that faces away from the container to be closed.

The invention seeks to provide an improved multi-piece lid made from paper material and an improved method of making a multi-piece lid made from paper material.
According to the invention, a multi-part cover made of a paper material with the features of claim 1 is provided for this purpose.
With the invention, a multi-part cover made of a paper material is provided, which on the one hand has a simple structure and on the other hand can also be made stable. According to an embodiment not belonging to the invention, a surrounding frame forms a shoulder running around in the circumferential direction, which can then be used for hooking the lid onto a mouth roll of a container to be closed. As a result, the lid sits securely on a container to be closed. A frame is a section of the reinforcement ring that is folded over by 180° and then pressed. Advantageously, the peripheral frame is folded over below the cover plate by 180° and then comes to lie again on the material of the reinforcement ring. This frame only achieves a thickening of the reinforcement ring in its lower section, but no two components are connected to one another. In contrast to this, the reinforcement ring is connected to the cover collar of the base body with the surrounding frame of the reinforcement ring above the cover plate. The reinforcement ring at its upper end is also used for this purpose folded over by 180°, but the lid collar is then received between the two layers of material of the folded-over reinforcement ring. After pressing and possibly gluing or sealing, the cover collar is then firmly connected to the reinforcement ring.
As an alternative to an encircling frame below the cover plate, a bead encircling the reinforcing ring in the circumferential direction is provided according to the invention. A secure hold of the lid according to the invention on a mouth roll of a container to be closed can also be achieved by means of a circumferential bead. The rim of the container can, seen here in cross section, have a circular shape or, for example, an oval shape if the rim is pressed flat. Incidentally, the term "mouth roll" can be used generally for an upper, reinforced rim of a container, for example a plastic cup with an upper, thickened rim.
Paper and paper-like materials, e.g. B. cardboard, cardboard or the like, also one-sided or double-sided, coated with wax or plastic paper material. The coated side of the paper material can be heat sealable.
In a further development of the invention, the bead extends outwards or inwards in the radial direction.
In this way, a peripheral recess is created on the inside of the reinforcement ring, in which the mouth roll of a container to be closed can then be received in order to latch the lid on the container. The bead can be pressed flat, for example, and a suitably shaped latching element is also referred to as a bead.
In an embodiment not according to the invention, the surrounding frame is cylindrical above the cover plate.
The circumferential frame above the cover plate is an essential element of the multi-part cover according to the invention, since the cover collar of the base body is firmly connected to the reinforcing ring by means of the circumferential frame above the cover plate. The formation of this frame in a cylindrical shape facilitates its production, since the frame is easily accessible from both sides for a pressing tool. This applies both to annular frames and frames or covers of any basic shape, for example triangular or rectangular with advantageously rounded corners.
In a further development of the invention, an inner diameter of the reinforcement ring at the lower edge is larger than an outer diameter of the peripheral frame above the cover.
In this way, the reinforcement ring can be placed with its lower edge on the frame above the cover plate of another cover, so that several covers can be safely stacked on top of each other.
In a further development of the invention, the reinforcement ring is widened radially outwards in the area of its lower edge.
As a result of the widening, a step is inevitably formed above the widening, which can then be used as a stop when a plurality of lids are stacked, in order to prevent a plurality of stacked lids from slipping too far on top of one another and becoming jammed as a result. The widening is designed, for example, in the form of an outward step, in order then to form a stop surface for the uppermost edge of the surrounding frame above the cover plate of the respective lower cup.
According to the invention, the peripheral frame above the cover plate is designed in the shape of a truncated cone and tapers in a direction away from the cover plate.
In this way, the stacking of several lids is facilitated, since the respective upper lid can be easily placed on the peripheral frame of the respective lower lid, tapered in the shape of a truncated cone.
According to the invention, the reinforcement ring is frustoconical in the area of its lower edge and widens in a direction away from the cover plate, with an inner diameter of the reinforcement ring at the lower edge being larger than an outer diameter of the surrounding frame at the upper edge.
In this way, the truncated cone-shaped widening lower area of the reinforcement ring can be fitted in a simple manner onto the truncated-cone-shaped tapering frame above the cover plate of the respective lower cover, so that secure stacking is possible.
In a further development of the invention, the reinforcement ring below the cover plate is provided with a radially outwardly extending, circumferential bead, with an inner diameter of the reinforcement ring at the lower edge being larger than an outer diameter of the reinforcement ring directly above the bead and being smaller than a largest outer diameter in the area the bead.
In this way, the bead forms a stop when several lids are stacked on the one hand, and on the other hand an inside of the outwardly extending bead can snap into place on a container to be closed on the mouth roll of the container, thereby ensuring that the lid is held securely on the container .
- Forming a base body from a one-piece paper material blank, the base body having a cover plate and a cover collar extending all the way around from the cover plate,
- Shapes of the reinforcement ring with a circumferential bead and
- Connecting the reinforcement ring to the base body.
The sequence of the method steps can be changed and, for example, the bead can also be shaped after the reinforcement ring has been connected to the base body.

An underside of the
A paper-like material, for example paper, cardboard, cardboard and the like, is regarded as paper material within the meaning of the invention. The term paper material also includes paper material coated on at least one side, for example paper material coated with plastic, in particular heat-sealable plastic.

Below the

Immediately below the
The

In contrast to the

To produce a multi-part lid from paper material according to the invention, the base body is first formed from a one-piece paper material blank, the base body being pot-shaped with a cover plate and a cover collar extending all the way around the cover plate. Furthermore, a reinforcing ring is formed from a strip of paper material, in which the strip overlaps in sections and is connected in the region of the overlap. The reinforcement ring is provided with a circumferential bead. The circumferential bead is used to create a defined position of the lid when it is placed on a cup with a mouth roll, in that the mouth roll snaps into the bead or behind the bead. A defined position of the lid on the cup is created by the bead and the lid can still be removed from the cup without being destroyed. The mouth roll of the mug can seen in cross-section, be circular or oval, in that a mouth roll is flattened.
The reinforcement ring is connected to the base body by means of a surrounding frame, this frame, which connects the base body to the reinforcement ring, being arranged above the cover plate, i.e. on a side of the cover plate of the base body that faces away from the container to be closed.
