Abstract

The container shown in Fig. 1 and 2 consists of a partially shown jacket 2 , a lid 1 and a bottom, not shown. The jacket 2 has in cross section the shape of a hollow cylinder 10 , which is formed by winding a blank 19 which surrounds the interior 15 of the jacket 2 and forms two mutually opposite end openings. The blank 19 has a constant thickness and is made of paper.

One of the two end openings of the casing 2 is closed by the base (not shown) mentioned and the other by the cover 1 . The lid 1 can be placed over an opening edge 7 of the jacket 2 and brought into a snap connection with the jacket 2 , so that it can be used as a reclosable lid. The opening edge 7 is formed as a roll mouth with a convex shape in cross section.

The edge strip 5 is formed in one piece with the central section 3 from the blank 20 and protrudes substantially perpendicularly from the central section 3 . As can be seen in particular from FIG. 2, the edge strip 5 is folded over at the bending point 21 in the direction of the flat central section 3 , so that its edge 13 faces the inner side 22 of the central section 3 . As a result, two parallel layers 11 , 12 are formed in the edge strip 5 , which are stacked on top of one another in the direction of the interior 16 of the cover 1 . The single-layer region of the edge strip 5 adjoining the central section 3 thus merges into a two-layer region with a position that projects essentially perpendicularly from the central section 3 and a layer 12 that is layered parallel to it and extends towards the central section 3 .

The inner layer 12 is provided with a projection in the form of an annular bead 8 which protrudes from the interior 16 of the cover 1 and serves as a locking element. When the bead 8 is produced by pressing the two layers 11 , 12 , an annular gap 14 can arise between the two layers 11 , 12 . This gap 14 can be filled with adhesive when the layers 11 , 12 are glued and with plastic in the case of sealing. The gap 14 formed when the bead 8 is formed is not visible from the outside because the bead 8 is arranged in the inner layer 12 , which is covered by the outer layer 11 .

The jacket 2 of the container is seen ver with an annular bead, so that a protruding bead 9 is formed on the outside of the jacket 2 , which serves as a locking element.

The edge portion 4 of the cover 1 is provided with a bead 6 which is driven out of the cover plane to the outside 17 of the cover 1 , so that a concave arched channel 18 which is open towards the interior 16 of the cover 1 (see FIG. 3) arises. The channel 18 has such a shape that it can accommodate the opening edge 7 of the casing 2 of the container with a precise fit.

To close the front opening of the container which is not closed by the bottom, the cover 1 is pushed over the opening edge 7 until the bead 8 of the edge strip 5 engages behind the bead 9 of the jacket 2 . The concavely curved upper surface of the channel 18 lies firmly against the convexly curved opening edge 7 of the jacket 2 . The inside 22 of the middle section 3 now covers the associated front opening of the jacket 2 .

In an embodiment, not shown, it is provided that a bead 9 is dispensed with and that the outwardly flanged opening edge 7 takes over the function of the missing bead 9 , similarly to that described in FIG. 5.

The edge strip 5 is resiliently elastic, so that when closing, the slightly outwardly projecting opening edge 7 and the bead 9 of the jacket 2 can be overcome. Due to the two layers 11 , 12 stacked on top of one another, the edge strip 5 has a greater thickness, so that a secure and stable snap-in connection is produced between the jacket 2 of the container and the lid 1 .

In the embodiment shown in FIG. 4, in the case of the lid, just as in the embodiment explained above, an edge strip 26 projecting vertically from a central section 3 is provided, which holds two layers 24 , 25 stacked on one another. In contrast to the embodiment described for FIGS . 1 to 3, the bead 23 provided for the latching connection directly adjoins the bending point 27 .

FIG. 5 shows another embodiment of a container which has a jacket 28 and a lid 29 . The jacket 28 has the shape of a hollow truncated cone and is provided with a mouth roller 30 . In contrast to the jacket 2 shown in FIGS . 1 to 4, the jacket 28 does not have an additional bead serving as a locking element. Rather, the mouth roller 30 serves as a locking element.

The cover 29 is provided with an edge strip 31 , which consists of an outer layer 32 and an inner layer 33 . On the surface of the inner layer 33 , a bulge 34 protrudes laterally, ie in the direction of the jacket 28 , which serves as a locking element. The bead 34 is close to the central portion of the lid 29 and, after the container has been closed, engages behind the mouth roller 30 .

FIG. 6 shows another embodiment of a container which has a jacket 28 and a lid 35 . The shape of the jacket 28 corresponds to that of the jacket of FIG. 5. The jacket 28 thus has the shape of a hollow truncated cone and has a mouth roller 30 . The cover 35 is provided with an edge strip 36 , which consists of an outer layer 37 , a middle layer 38 and an inner layer 39 . Here, the middle layer 38 and the inner layer 39 have been produced in that the initially single-layer blank for the cover 35 has been folded over at bending points 40 and 41 .

The projection 42 serving as a locking element is formed in the cover 35 by the inner layer 39 and the middle layer 38 . After the container has been closed, the projection 42 engages behind the mouth roller 30 . Here, the surface of the edge strip 36 lies against the mouth roll 30 at the bending point 41 , at which the middle layer 38 merges into the inner layer 39 .

Deviating from FIG. 6, the arrangement may alternatively be such that the third layer 39 is bent such that it comes to lie between 37 and 38 the two other layers. This avoids an open cut edge on the outside.
