Definitions
- the invention relates to an injection device according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Such injectors for internal combustion engines are well known.
- a fuel supply system which supplies composite fuel containing alcohol and gasoline to a plurality of cylinders of an internal combustion engine.
- the composite fuel contains so-called main fuel and sub-fuel, the sub-fuel having a lower alcohol concentration than the main fuel.
- the sub-fuel is injected in each case by means of two separate first fuel injection valves or by means of a single second fuel injection valve in the direction of a first and second intake valve of each cylinder.
- the main fuel is injected via the two separate first fuel injection valves toward first and second intake valves of each cylinder.
- the two injection valves thus serve alternatively for injecting main or sub-fuel.
- the injection device according to the invention, the internal combustion engine according to the invention and the inventive method for operating an injection device according to the independent claims have the advantage over the prior art, on the one hand achieved a reduction in exhaust emissions and on the other hand, an increase in the performance of the internal combustion engine becomes.
- the injectors By separating the injectors into those which inject only fuel based on ethanol, and those which inject only a gasoline-based fuel, the high demands on the available flow rate range of the respective injection valve are easily achieved. Injection of gasoline-based fuel is particularly needed during the start-up and warm-up phases, since injection of ethanol-based fuel to start the engine is either not possible at all or very inefficient (depending on the ambient temperature).
- the second injection device is therefore operated just in the start and warm-up phase and preferably throttled at full load or completely off.
- the improved burn-through and higher smoothness achieved thereby allows lower idle speed, which in turn reduces exhaust emissions when operating on fuel of the second fuel composition.
- the second injection assembly is shut down and the internal combustion engine is fed with the ethanol-based fuel, whereby a comparatively high performance with low exhaust emissions and low fuel consumption is achieved.
- the second and third injection valves are preferably each dimensioned for a lower fuel flow range than the at least one first injection valve.
- the second and third injection valve each have a Einstrahl
- the second injection valve has in particular only a single second injection port
- the third injection valve in particular has only a single third injection port.
- the internal combustion engine according to the invention preferably comprises a gasoline engine with intake manifold injection for a motor vehicle, preferably an automobile.
- the internal combustion engine preferably further comprises more than one cylinder.
- the distance between the second injection valve and the first inlet opening and the distance between the third injection valve and the second inlet opening are each smaller than between the first injection valve and the first or second inlet opening.
- the distance between the second injection assembly and the combustion chamber is chosen to be comparatively small, so that shorten the flight times of the injected fuel according to the second fuel composition.
- the evaporation of the fuel thus takes place in the combustion chamber, whereby the combustion chamber is cooled.
- the anti-knocking therefore increases, so that in particular in a full load phase larger services can be queried.
- This embodiment is therefore suitable for the construction of a particularly powerful internal combustion engine.
- the distance between the second injection valve and the first inlet opening and the distance between the third injection valve and the second inlet opening are each greater than between the first injection valve and the first or second inlet opening.
- the distance between the second injection assembly and the combustion chamber is comparatively large, so that the flight times of the injected fuel according to the second fuel composition increase.
- the second injection valve is provided for injecting fuel of the second fuel composition into a first intake passage opening into the first intake port
- the third injection valve for injecting fuel of the second fuel composition into a second intake passage opening into the second intake port is provided.
- the second and third injection valve are further arranged separately from each other and in particular also separately controllable. It is also conceivable that in each case only one of the two injection valves is activated.
- the first injection valve has a two-jet characteristic and in particular two first injection openings for injecting fuel of the first fuel composition so that upon injection, the fuel of the first fuel composition reaches both the first and second inlet ports.
- the first injection valve is arranged in an intake pipe, which opens into the first and second intake duct.
- the first injection arrangement comprises two first injectors, each having a Einstrahl characterizing, ie, for example, each comprise only a first injection port, and which are arranged in the intake pipe or in the first and second intake duct.
- the second and the third injection valve are dimensioned differently such that different amounts of fuel of the second fuel composition are injected through the second and third injection valves.
- the Kraftstoffzumess Scheme can be significantly increased, for example, if only that of the two injectors is driven, which is dimensioned for a smaller flow rate.
- Another object of the present invention is an internal combustion engine having an injection device according to the invention.
- Another object of the present invention is a method for operating an injection device according to the invention, wherein with the at least one first injection valve fuel of the first composition, which comprises a higher proportion of ethanol than the second composition, both in the direction of the first inlet opening, as well as in direction is injected with the second injector having a Einstrahl second fuel injector of the second composition only in the direction of the first inlet port and the Einstrahl having third injector fuel of the second composition only in the direction of the second inlet port.
- the above-mentioned advantages of the exhaust gas reduction, as well as the increase in performance are achieved.
- only the fuel of the first fuel composition is injected with the at least one first injection valve, and only the fuel of the second fuel composition is injected with the second and third injection valves, so that a maximally large available flow rate range is achieved.
- mainly fuel of the second composition is injected by the second and third injection valve and that in a load phase mainly fuel of the first composition is injected through the first injection valve.
- the fuel of the second fuel composition of the second injection assembly is supplied under higher pressure than fuel of the first fuel composition of the first injection assembly is supplied, and / or that the pressure under which the fuel of the second fuel composition of the second injection assembly is supplied, is set in dependence on operating parameters of the internal combustion engine.
- different pressures in the two fuel supply systems can be implemented.
- a higher pressure in the fuel supply system is provided for the predominantly gasoline-containing fuel of the second fuel composition compared to the pressure in the fuel supply system for the predominantly ethanol-containing fuel of the first fuel composition, whereby in particular the combustion characteristics in the starting phase of the internal combustion engine can be improved.
- an operating point-dependent variation of the pressure of at least one of the two fuel supply systems is conceivable.
- FIG. 1 is a schematic plan view of an internal combustion engine 1 with an injection device 1 'in a non-inventive embodiment of the present invention shown, which has a cylinder which comprises a combustion chamber 2 and in which a piston 2 moves'.
- the wall of the combustion chamber 2 has a first and a second inlet opening 10, 20, through which in each case an air-fuel mixture is sucked into the combustion chamber 2 and a first and second outlet opening 30, 31, through which the raw exhaust gases of the combusted air Fuel mixture from the combustion chamber 2 in first and second outlet channels 32, 33 are ejected.
- the internal combustion engine 1 has a first inlet valve 10 ', which is provided for closing the first inlet opening 10 and is arranged between a first inlet channel 11 and the combustion chamber 2.
- the internal combustion engine 1 also has a second inlet valve 20 ', which is provided for closing the second inlet opening 20 and is arranged between a second inlet channel 21 and the combustion chamber 2.
- the first and the second intake channel 11, 21 open on a side facing away from the combustion chamber 2 in a common intake pipe 9, wherein a metered amount of fresh air is sucked through the intake pipe 9 in the direction of the combustion chamber 2 by a throttle valve arranged in the intake pipe 9 (not shown)
- the injection device 1 ' has a first and a second injection arrangement 3, 5, which are provided for injecting fuel 4, 6 in the direction of the first and second inlet openings 10, 20 or into the first and second intake channels 11, 21.
- the first injection arrangement 3 comprises a first injection valve 7, which generates two partial beams.
- the first injection valve 7 has in particular two injection openings 8, through which fuel 4 of a first fuel composition is injected simultaneously both in the direction of the first and in the direction of the second inlet opening 10, 20.
- the first fuel composition has a high proportion of ethanol, which ensures comparatively efficient combustion, ie with low consumption, low emissions and high performance, during load operation of the internal combustion engine 1.
- the injector 1 since the start and warm-up phase with ethanol-based fuel is very inefficient, the injector 1 'still has the second injector assembly 5, which is provided for injecting fuel 6 of a second fuel composition.
- the second fuel composition has less or no ethanol content than the first fuel composition, and particularly includes conventional gasoline.
- the second injection arrangement 5 comprises a second and a separate third injection valve 12, 22.
- the second injection valve 12 has a Einstrahl characterizing, ie the second injection valve 12 has in particular only a single second injection port 14, whereby the fuel 6 of the second fuel composition substantially is injected exclusively in the direction of the first inlet opening 10.
- the third injection valve 22 has a Einstrahl characterizing, ie the third injection valve 22 preferably has only a single third injection port 24, whereby the fuel 6 of the second fuel composition is injected substantially exclusively in the direction of the second inlet port 20.
- the first, second and third injection valve 7, 12, 22 are controlled separately. In the present example, the distance between the second inlet valve 12 and the first inlet opening 10, and between the third inlet valve 22 and the second inlet opening 20 is greater than between the first inlet valve 7 and the first or second inlet opening 10, 20.
- the time of flight during injection of fuel 6 of the second fuel composition is thus increased, whereby the injected fuel 6 vaporized already in the first and second intake ports 11, 21 and thus results in a better ignitability in the combustion chamber 2.
- the combustion thus takes place at higher temperatures, so that in a start and warm-up phase of the internal combustion engine 1, a downstream catalyst not shown is heated faster by the hotter exhaust gases and thus reaches its operating temperature faster.
- the second and third injection valves 12, 22 are each dimensioned for a lower fuel flow area than the at least one first injection valve 7, since during injection of Ethanol-based fuel 4 compared to injecting gasoline-based fuel 6 larger quantities must be injected.
- the first injection valve 7 therefore serves exclusively to inject fuel 4 of the first fuel composition, while only the fuel 6 of the second fuel composition is injected by the second and third injection valves 12, 22. Injection of fuel 6 of the second fuel composition occurs mainly in the starting and warm-up phases of internal combustion engine 1. However, fuel injection 4 of the first fuel composition occurs mainly in the load and full load phases.
- the first, second and third injection valves 7, 12, 22 are controlled depending on the respective operating parameters, so that the ratio between the injected amount of the fuel 4 of the first fuel composition and the injected amount of the fuel 6 of the second fuel composition as needed and in particular continuously regulated in order to achieve the lowest possible emissions with sufficient power.
- the internal combustion engine 1 preferably has a plurality of such cylinders.
- the internal combustion engine 1 preferably comprises a gasoline engine for an automobile.
- FIG. 2 is a schematic plan view of an internal combustion engine 1 with an injection device 1 'according to a first embodiment of the present invention shown.
- the first embodiment is substantially the same as in FIG FIG. 1
- illustrated embodiment not according to the invention in contrast, the first injection valve 7 in the first embodiment, a greater distance from the first and second inlet openings 10, 20 than the distance between the second injection valve 12 and the first inlet opening 10 and the distance between the third injection valve
- the second and third injection valves 12, 22 are located closer to the combustion chamber 2 than the first injection valve 7.
- FIG. 3 is a schematic sectional view of an injection device 1 'according to a second embodiment of the present invention, wherein the second embodiment is identical to in FIG. 2 illustrated first embodiment.
- the second and third injection valves 12, 22 are arranged on a lower side of the first and second intake passages 11, 21, ie on a wall of the first and second intake passages 11, 21 facing the combustion chamber 2.
- the first injection valve 7 is arranged on an upper side of the intake pipe 9, ie on a wall facing away from the combustion chamber 2 wall of the intake manifold 9.
- the first, second and third injection valve 7, 12, 22 respectively on the top or on the bottom of the intake pipe 9, the first intake port 11 and the second intake port 21 are arranged.
- an arrangement in which the second and third injection valve 12, 22 are on the top of the first and second intake ports 11, 21 and the first injection valve 7 is disposed on the underside of the intake pipe 9, would be conceivable.

Description

- In
- In
- In
