La présente invention concerne une garniture de frein destinée à un frein à disque à garniture partielle notamment d'un véhicule ferroviaire, comprenant plusieurs éléments de garniture (2) raccordés à un support de garniture (1) et présentant chacun une plaque de support (3) et des éléments de friction (4) fixés sur la plaque de support et insérés dans des logements (6) sur le côté arrière, chaque plaque de support (3) étant maintenue contre le support de garniture (1) pour pouvoir effectuer un mouvement de basculement. La garniture de frein selon l'invention est conçue de sorte que la plaque de support (3) présente, au voisinage des logements (6), au moins une cavité (5) qui augmente la taille de la surface de la plaque de support (3).
