Definitions

  • the invention relates to a protective grid, in particular for children or pets, according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • US 4,685,247 A describes a protective grid for children and pets, which can be clamped by means of clamps between the posts of a door frame.
  • an extension to the protective grid can be infected, which in turn carries the terminals for jamming on the door frame.
  • Fixed structures in the sense of the invention are understood to mean all structures which define a passage and are suitable for fixing a protective grid, such as door posts, walls, banisters or the like.
  • each passage at least partially blocking element of the protective grid.
  • it may be a frame having a door pivotally received therein, or even just a fixed plate or grid.
  • a protective grid in the sense of the invention not only means a structure with bars, but may also be other types of through-passage block such as a wooden plate, a transparent plastic plate or the like.
  • the holding members can be any suitable structure for the frictional, positive or other connection of the protective grid with the fixed structures.
  • the holding members may have a stepless adjustability up to a maximum stroke in order to allow a fine adjustment of the width of the protective grid to the width of the passage.
  • a pressure force can also be exerted on the fixed structures via the holding members.
  • the insertion depth is adjustable by discrete selection of an orientation of the stop member with respect to the bearing opening.
  • Discrete selection of the orientation here means a defined offset of the orientation, other orientations not occurring.
  • it may be a rotation of the extension piece through 180 ° about the longitudinal direction. It is also conceivable to perform a rotation through 90 ° about the longitudinal direction or even a rotation through 180 ° about a vertical direction.
  • the discreetly selectable change of the insertion depth can also be effected by other means, such as a change of the stop member by insertion of a pin in different positions or the like.
  • the extension piece is formed as a substantially prismatic body, wherein the stop member comprises a laterally projecting over the body cam.
  • the body may, for example, have a square or rectangular cross-section, the cam projecting on only one side and cooperating by turning 180 ° about the longitudinal direction of the body with another stop in the bearing opening.
  • the extension piece has a central opening for receiving the holding member.
  • a projection of a threaded shaft of the holding member which varies in length depending on the adjustment, can protrude into the extension piece.
  • An end face of the extension piece can form the stop for a lock nut of the preferably adjustable holding member in a simple and effective embodiment.
  • the holding member is generally advantageously designed so that it comprises a longitudinally extending shank, preferably a threaded shaft, with a continuously adjustable counter-member, preferably a nut.
  • the extension piece in the first insertion depth is substantially completely recessed in the bearing opening, wherein the extension piece in the second insertion depth to at least a part, for example about half, its length protrudes from the bearing opening.
  • the extension piece can be added as an extension of the protective grid even when not in use, making it less likely to get lost.
  • it may also have a function in this arrangement, for example as an abutment of the holding member.
  • the bearing opening is generally preferably arranged on a handle part of the barrier member, wherein the handle part has a closure for releasably locking a door provided in the barrier member.
  • the guard will typically have multiple bearing openings to accommodate several of the extension pieces. For example, an upper one of the bearing openings in the grip part and a lower one of the bearing openings on a lower transverse frame may be provided.
  • the diameter of the openings remaining in the protective grid should not exceed predetermined sizes for safety reasons.
  • Such sizes may e.g. be defined in official standards or guidelines.
  • special demands are placed on the design of extension pieces in terms of number, variability and simplicity of installation.
  • a further extension piece is provided in this sense, wherein the further extension piece comprises at least one grid bar which adjoins laterally next to the barrier member.
  • the further extension piece has a head piece with an opening, wherein the first Extension piece engages up to a stop provided in the opening in the head piece.
  • the opening can serve, for example, to receive the projection of a threaded shank of the holding member which, depending on the setting, can partly or completely pass through the head piece, but has no structural function for the assembly of the extension pieces.
  • the further extension piece can be inserted into the bearing opening as an alternative to the first extension piece.
  • This may for example be a second stage of a multi-stage selectable extension, the first extension piece is not currently used, but is included in the overall package of the protective grid.
  • a pivotable door member 3 is hinged.
  • the door member 3 herein has a plurality of parallel bars for obstructing a passage, but may also comprise a solid plate, a net-like grid, or the like.
  • a grip part 4 consisting of a door-side part 4b and a frame-side part 4a is arranged, by means of which the door member 3 can be detachably fixed and operated.
  • a locking slide 5 for operating the closure is arranged on the frame-side part 4a of the grip part 4.
  • the door member comprises in the present example, another lower closure 6 with a spring-loaded latch. A release of the door member is made possible by pressing the locking slide 5 by lifting a defined stroke, including a connected to the other strut 1 c pivot 7 of the door member 3 is designed accordingly.
  • the swivel joint 7 also comprises a spring-driven restoring device for automatically closing the door member 3 in a lower joint part 7a.
  • Each of the extension modules 2 each comprises a plurality of structurally different extension pieces 8, 9, 10, 11, which are inserted into one another.
  • extension pieces 8, 9, 10, 11 of the two extension modules 2 are each identical, so that the extension modules 2 are identical to each other.
  • an upper and a lower holding member 12 is arranged in each case (see also Fig. 7 ).
  • the holding member 12 is formed in a known manner as a clamping screw with a threaded shank 12a and a lock nut 12b. All of the extension pieces 8, 9, 10, 11 have in a longitudinal direction extending through openings 8a, 9a, 10a, 11a, in which a projection of the threaded shaft can protrude.
  • the lock nut 12 b is supported against the end side of the outer extension piece 9.
  • a bearing plate 12c for example, a plastic buffer arranged.
  • the bearing plate can engage in a form-fitting or partially positive fit in a fixed to a fixed structure (door jamb, wall, etc.) abutment 13 or even be clamped against the stationary structure be supported (frictional engagement).
  • the adjustable stroke of the holding member is off For safety reasons limited, for example, to about 6 cm, so as not to create a large opening with the risk of injury.
  • the further adaptation to the width of the passage is made by selecting one of several stages of the extension by means of the extension pieces 8, 9, 10, 11th
  • the extension piece 8a can due to the interaction of its stopper part 8d, 8e with one of two corresponding grooves 14a, 14b (see Fig. 14 ) in two different insertion depths in the bearing opening 14 strike.
  • One of the bearing openings 14 is formed on the handle part 4, in the part 4a (see Fig. 14 ), which is provided at the upper end of the strut 1 a.
  • This grip part 4a is for better clarification in particular of the structure of the bearing opening 14 in Fig. 14 shown in detail.
  • the first, upper of the grooves 14 a extends to a maximum depth of the bearing opening 14, in which a bottom 14 c of the bearing opening 14 is present.
  • the second, lower of the grooves 14b projects into the bearing opening 14 only up to about half of this depth, so that the end of the groove 14b forms a counter-abutment 14d.
  • first extension piece 8 is oriented about its longitudinal direction so that the cam 8e engages in the first groove 14a, then the first extension piece 8 can be inserted completely, ie over its entire length, into the bearing opening 14. This condition is in Fig. 2 (with holding members 12) or Fig. 4 shown. In this case, none of the other extension pieces 9, 10, 11 used (long guard or variant with minimum width).
  • the holding members 12 are then attached directly to the barrier member 1, so that, for example, the lock nut 12b is supported against the end face of the grip part 4a.
  • the threaded shafts 12a then protrude exclusively into the openings 8a of the first extension pieces 8.
  • extension piece 8 If the extension piece 8 is turned around its longitudinal direction by 180 ° relative to the orientation described above or this orientation is discretely selected, then the cam 8e engages in the lower of the grooves 14b. As a result, the extension piece 8 can only be inserted approximately halfway into the bearing opening 14 until the cam 14e abuts the stop 14d of the groove 14b.
  • the extension piece 8 protrudes by about half its length from the bearing opening.
  • a part of the extension piece could protrude from the bearing opening 14 for all insertion depths, so that a maximum of one section, but not the entire extension piece 8 is inserted.
  • the upper groove 14a could have a stop at a first depth, for example 2/3 of an overall length of the shaped body 8
  • the lower groove 14b could have a stop at a depth of insertion of 1/3 of the length of the shaped body 8. These depths would each be achieved when the cam 8e of the extension piece 8 is pushed forward into the respective groove 14a, 14b. If, however, the extension piece 8 is rotated by 180 ° about the vertical axis and pushed with the other, formed without cam plastic piece 8c in the bearing opening 14, it would be completely sunk or up to the stop 14c.
  • further grooves of different depths may be provided on the remaining walls of the bearing opening 14, so that even discrete rotations by 90 ° each around the longitudinal direction give different insertion depths. Further differentiations of insertion depths can be effected by corresponding change of the cross section of the molded body 8, for example to a hexagonal or also round cross section, whereby a correspondingly larger number of only discretely selectable orientations becomes possible.
  • a first stage of the extension in the embodiment shown can now take place in that the holding members 12 are inserted directly into the protruding extension pieces 8.
  • the dimensions of the components are chosen so that a first stage of the extension thereby erriecht that even the (first) further extension piece 9 is attached to the first extension pieces 8.
  • the further extension piece 9 is a grid bar 9b with two end-side, identical head pieces 9c, in each of which the openings 9a are provided for receiving the threaded shaft 12a. It should be noted that in the illustration after Fig. 9 already two first extension pieces 8 are inserted into the two head pieces 9c.
  • FIG. 3 A view of the grille in this first stage of an extension is in FIG Fig. 3 (Overall view) and in Fig. 6 (Detail enlargement) shown.
  • a second stage of extension is achieved when, instead of the first extension piece 8, a (second) further extension piece 11 is combined with the extension piece 9.
  • the further extension piece 11 has head portions upper and lower struts 11 b, between which a plurality of (in the present case two) bars 11 c extends.
  • the upper and lower struts 11 b correspond in cross section to the first extension piece 8 and are formed to a greater length just like this for insertion into the bearing openings 14.
  • plastic parts are used on the struts 11 b end, which allow insertion into the bearing openings up to the maximum insertion depth. There are therefore no cams provided in positions which engage in the lower groove 14b. In a possible modification, but this can be provided.
  • the extension piece 9 is the outer member in which the holding members 12 are received.
  • a third, maximum level of extension (see Fig. 1 . Fig. 7 ) is reached when a (third) further extension piece 10 is added.
  • This consists of two head pieces 10b made of plastic, between which extends a single bar 10c, which is attached to pins 16 of the head pieces 10b.
  • the head pieces 10b are shown in detail in FIG Fig. 13 shown. They have a central, longitudinally extending aperture 15 of square cross-section. Within this opening a stop lock 10c is retracted, which in turn has a round opening 10a for a possible penetration of the projecting threaded shank 12a.
  • a penetration of the threaded shaft 12a is not necessarily provided.
  • the threaded shaft 12a here has no supporting function, but protrudes with undefined clearance through the opening 10a.
  • the first extension piece 8 is inserted into the opening 15 or the head piece 10b until it abuts against the stop lock 10c.
  • the (second) further extension piece 11 is inserted into the opening 15 until this also abuts against the stop lock 10c.
  • corresponding recesses 15a are also provided in the opening 15. In the present case, the recesses are provided only on the side of the first extension piece 8. The assembly is therefore possible only in a defined orientation of all components.
  • stages of extensions are possible in a simple manner, each of which allows the extension of a grid bar in a given safety distance.
  • the safety distance between two bars is about 6 cm, depending on the material used.
  • the allowable stroke of a fine adjustment is given by the holding members in about the same.
  • the three stages of extensions of an extension module 2 with respect to the non-extended barrier member 1 in the present case are about 7 cm, 18 cm and 25 cm.
