Definitions
- the present invention relates to a shelf, in particular a shelf for a refrigerator.
- Fridge shelves usually consist of a grid or a glass sheet, which is provided with mechanical elements for mounting in a refrigerator.
- glass panes are characterized, inter alia, by the fact that leaking liquids can be collected by the pane, so that contamination of the lower area of the refrigerator can be avoided. Lateral overflow of liquids can be avoided in various ways.
- a common solution for overflow protection consists in a plastic frame, which surrounds the glass on all sides and which forms an edge around the disc.
- the disadvantage is that such a plastic edge is expensive to manufacture and reduces usable for the refrigerated goods footprint. Furthermore, the cleaning of the refrigerator floor is made difficult by the surrounding frame.
- the object of the invention is to provide a shelf for a refrigerator with an overflow protection, which is improved over the prior art.
- the shelf according to the invention and the overflow protection are in an installed state, so that from the user's point of view it has an upper side, a lower side and front, rear and side edges.
- the shelf according to the invention comprises a carrier plate and an overflow protection, wherein the upper side of the carrier plate has a central region for depositing containers and the overflow protection is arranged around the central region.
- the shelf is characterized in that the overflow protection is formed in a first section in the form of a hydrophobic layer on the support plate and in a second section, which adjoins the first section, comprises a frame member.
- the support plate is preferably a flat glass plate with a material thickness of 3 to 8 mm. It is preferably commercially biased float glass, so a soda-lime glass. Likewise, however, the carrier plates can also consist of glass ceramic, plastic or metal or combinations of the materials mentioned.
- the carrier plate In the middle region of the carrier plate, the carrier plate preferably has no coating, but the central region can also be coated. However, the coating should not have hydrophobic properties since This reduces the effectiveness of the hydrophobic layer of the overflow protection.
- the first and second sections may generally each only cover a small portion of the circumference of the support plate, e.g. a part of one side of the carrier plate, or over a large portion of the circumference of the carrier plate, e.g. extend over several sides of the carrier plate.
- the hydrophobic layer may be any hydrophobic layer system which has sufficient resistance to chemicals as well as sufficient mechanical strength. Suitable layer systems are known to the person skilled in the art.
- hydrophobic layer system A typical example of a hydrophobic layer system are the inorganic-organic hybrid polymers, which are known under the brand ORMOCER ® the Fraunhofer Institute for Silicate Research.
- ORMOCER ® the Fraunhofer Institute for Silicate Research.
- hydrophobic, organic solutions that can be applied after manufacture or by the end user, for example, a group of solutions that have become known under the brand "Clear Shield ® ".
- the DE 100 18 671 A1 also discloses a suitable hydrophobic coating on glass or ceramic material which has a particularly high mechanical resistance. It comprises a thin sublayer of a metal compound, in particular of inorganic or organic compounds with preferably 3- or 4-valent metals such as Si, Al, Ti, Zr and an outer hydrophobic organic layer of siloxane, silane, Fluorsilanpolyurethan or tetrafluoropolyethylene.
- a metal compound in particular of inorganic or organic compounds with preferably 3- or 4-valent metals such as Si, Al, Ti, Zr and an outer hydrophobic organic layer of siloxane, silane, Fluorsilanpolyurethan or tetrafluoropolyethylene.
- hydrophobic layer exerts its effect as overflow protection essentially due to its particular hydrophobicity and not due to its vertical nature Expansion.
- a hydrophobic layer as a liquid barrier may have the effect of a mechanical barrier of a height of about 5 mm or more, but this may have a height of well below 1 mm.
- the hydrophobic layer may be transparent or colored.
- a frame element is generally to be understood as a mechanical element which, due to its vertical extent, constitutes a barrier to leaking fluid. It may be, for example, a plastic strip, which is glued to the support plate, or a profile strip which is plugged onto the side edge of the support plate and is vertically above the surface of the support plate addition.
- the overflow protection may comprise only the first and the second subsection, but also further subsection, which together with the first and the second subsection form the overflow protection.
- the overflow protection encloses the central region of the carrier plate completely.
- the hydrophobic layer is preferably arranged along the outer edge of the carrier plate in the form of a strip having a width of 0.5 to 5 cm and in each case runs parallel to one of the outer edges of the carrier plate. However, it can also be arranged at a distance from the outer edge.
- the hydrophobic layer preferably has a layer thickness of 5 nm to 100 ⁇ m. There is thus no or only a slight difference in height from the uncoated region of the carrier plate, and thus the surface with the hydrophobic layer can be fully utilized as a storage surface.
- the hydrophobic layer is arranged in the form of an adhesive tape on the carrier plate, which allows a particularly simple application of the layer.
- no frame element or another element is arranged which protrudes vertically beyond the surface of the hydrophobic layer, that is, only the hydrophobic layer acts as an overflow protection.
- the frame element is preferably arranged along the outer edge of the carrier plate and connected in a liquid-tight manner to the carrier plate.
- the frame element can be arranged only on the upper side of the carrier plate, or preferably extend around the outer edge of the carrier plate in the form of a profile strip.
- the liquid-tight connection can be formed, for example, in the form of a non-releasable adhesive bond, or in the form of a sealing lip, which allows a release of the frame member. This allows, inter alia, a simple and thorough cleaning of the frame element.
- the frame member preferably protrudes vertically by a height H of 1.0 mm or more beyond the top of the carrier plate. Particularly preferably, the frame element protrudes by 2.0 to 20.0 mm beyond the top of the carrier plate.
- the frame element can fulfill other functions in addition to the function as overflow protection at the same time.
- a frame element on the front of the shelf can be designed as a grip part for pulling out the shelf, for example by a lip arranged on the underside.
- a frame member on the side of the shelf can be formed as a lateral guide rail, which forms a support for the shelf together with a correspondingly formed guide in the refrigerator.
- a frame element on the back may be formed as a rear floor boundary, which limits the shelf to the rear.
- the frame member or a part of the frame member may be made detachable so that liquid caught by the weir protection can be drained off in a controlled manner.
- the removable part of the frame element may for example have a width of 0.5 cm to 5 cm and be deposited in color and / or shape of the frame member.
- the frame member may extend over the entire front edge of the carrier plate and be designed to be removable. If liquid has leaked and been collected by the overflow protection, it is generally difficult to remove the liquid within the narrow interior of the refrigerator from the shelf. Also, a removal of the soil is not readily possible, since it can come with slight tilting of the soil to overflow the liquid.
- the support plate can have a slight inclination of 1 ° to 8 °, preferably 2 ° to 5 ° relative to the horizontal, with the removable part of the frame element located at the lowest point, so that a large part of the liquid can be drained controlled .
- the angle of inclination refers to a built-in state of the shelf with horizontal orientation of the refrigerator.
- a hydrophobic layer can additionally be inserted between the Be arranged frame member and the central region, so that the frame member is protected from contamination.
- the overflow protection has a front-side portion, a rear-side portion, and two side portions as viewed by a user, with the front-side portion located on the user-facing side and the back-side portion on the user-facing side.
- the side portions of the overflow protector are formed substantially over their entire length as a hydrophobic layer, and the front and / or the rear portion comprises / substantially over the entire length of a frame member.
- a length fraction of at least 50%, but preferably 80% or more is to be understood, whereby preferably only the transition regions arranged in the corners are excluded.
- This shelf has a particularly wide storage area. He also has the advantage that in the region of the particularly stressed front edge of the shelf, the frame member protects the front edge of the support plate simultaneously against shocks, for example when loading the refrigerator with bottles. Furthermore occurs during frequent loading and unloading no wear of the frame profile. In the case of a hydrophobic coating in the region of the leading edge, on the other hand, there is the risk that it will wear out due to frequent loading and unloading and the effectiveness will be reduced.
- the hydrophobic layer is therefore preferably arranged only in the less abrasion-prone surface areas of the shelf.
- the lateral portions of the overflow guard comprise a frame member over substantially their entire length and the front and / or rear portions formed substantially over its entire length as a hydrophobic layer.
- a length fraction of at least 50%, but preferably 80% or more is to be understood, whereby preferably only the transition regions arranged in the corners are excluded.
- the shelf offers a particularly deep storage space.
- the lateral frame elements preferably serve simultaneously as a guide and support of the shelf, so that it is possible to dispense with further support elements such as arranged under the shelf angle.
- the hydrophobic layer extends in a first embodiment to the lower edge of the frame member or below the frame member.
- the hydrophobic layer thus directly adjoins the frame element and is limited by it.
- the first and second sections thus join each other with minimal expansion of the transition region.
- the hydrophobic layer extends from the first section in the transition region under the frame member, that is, in the transition region between the support plate and the frame element is arranged. This can be advantageous to an exact limitation of the hydrophobic layer, which means higher manufacturing costs, are dispensed with.
- the hydrophobic layer extends from the first section to the lower edge of the frame element and is then continued in the transition region on the rising edge of the frame element. In this embodiment it is ensured that a
- Transition region is not a weak point of the overflow protection, in which liquid preferably expires.
- the hydrophobic layer can be arranged on an adhesive tape, which can be adhered to the support plate and on the frame member.
- the invention further relates to a carrier plate according to the same inventive principle.
- the carrier plate according to the invention has an overflow protection, which is arranged along the circumference of the carrier plate, wherein the overflow protection is formed in a first section in the form of a hydrophobic layer on the support plate and in a second section, which adjoins the first section, a frame member includes.
- the support plate may be formed, for example, as a countertop, table top, chopping board, hob, cooktop, stove lid or counter, or a component thereof. In particular, it may be a hob of glass or glass ceramic.
- the refrigerator floor according to the invention is in a built-in state, so that this has a top, a bottom and front, back and side edges from the user's perspective of the refrigerator.
- FIG. 1 shows a shelf (1) for a refrigerator according to a first preferred embodiment of the invention.
- a frame member (22) is formed, which forms the front portion (7) of the overflow protection, and at the rear edge of the support plate, a frame member (22), which forms the rear portion (8) of the overflow protection and which each extend over the full length of the leading edge and the trailing edge.
- a strip (13) of a hydrophobic layer (12) is formed in each case a strip (13) of a hydrophobic layer (12).
- this profile strip is also designed as a handle element to allow the withdrawal of the shelf (1).
- the frame element (22), which represents the rear-side section (8) of the overflow protection, is likewise designed in the form of a profiled strip, which is attached to the rear edge.
- the usable footprint of the support plate (2) is thus mechanically limited to the back.
- the shelf (1) includes, for example, angles as fastening elements (14), which are arranged under the support plate and serve to hold the shelf, for example in a refrigerator.
- the type of attachment is for the object of the invention of secondary importance, the attachment shown is therefore only to be understood as an example.

Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a shelf, in particular a shelf for a refrigerator.
Fridge shelves usually consist of a grid or a glass sheet, which is provided with mechanical elements for mounting in a refrigerator. In addition to the advantage of better stability of the item to be cooled compared to gratings, glass panes are characterized, inter alia, by the fact that leaking liquids can be collected by the pane, so that contamination of the lower area of the refrigerator can be avoided. Lateral overflow of liquids can be avoided in various ways.
A common solution for overflow protection consists in a plastic frame, which surrounds the glass on all sides and which forms an edge around the disc. The disadvantage is that such a plastic edge is expensive to manufacture and reduces usable for the refrigerated goods footprint. Furthermore, the cleaning of the refrigerator floor is made difficult by the surrounding frame.

The object of the invention is to provide a shelf for a refrigerator with an overflow protection, which is improved over the prior art.
The object is solved by the independent claims. Preferred embodiments are set forth in the dependent claims.
The following description of the invention assumes that the shelf according to the invention and the overflow protection are in an installed state, so that from the user's point of view it has an upper side, a lower side and front, rear and side edges.
The shelf according to the invention comprises a carrier plate and an overflow protection, wherein the upper side of the carrier plate has a central region for depositing containers and the overflow protection is arranged around the central region. The shelf is characterized in that the overflow protection is formed in a first section in the form of a hydrophobic layer on the support plate and in a second section, which adjoins the first section, comprises a frame member.
The support plate is preferably a flat glass plate with a material thickness of 3 to 8 mm. It is preferably commercially biased float glass, so a soda-lime glass. Likewise, however, the carrier plates can also consist of glass ceramic, plastic or metal or combinations of the materials mentioned.
In the middle region of the carrier plate, the carrier plate preferably has no coating, but the central region can also be coated. However, the coating should not have hydrophobic properties since This reduces the effectiveness of the hydrophobic layer of the overflow protection.
The first and second sections may generally each only cover a small portion of the circumference of the support plate, e.g. a part of one side of the carrier plate, or over a large portion of the circumference of the carrier plate, e.g. extend over several sides of the carrier plate.
The hydrophobic layer may be any hydrophobic layer system which has sufficient resistance to chemicals as well as sufficient mechanical strength. Suitable layer systems are known to the person skilled in the art.
A typical example of a hydrophobic layer system are the inorganic-organic hybrid polymers, which are known under the brand ORMOCER ® the Fraunhofer Institute for Silicate Research. On the other hand, there are a variety of hydrophobic, organic solutions that can be applied after manufacture or by the end user, for example, a group of solutions that have become known under the brand "Clear Shield ® ".
The hydrophobic layer exerts its effect as overflow protection essentially due to its particular hydrophobicity and not due to its vertical nature Expansion. Depending on the strength of the hydrophobicity and the liquid, a hydrophobic layer as a liquid barrier may have the effect of a mechanical barrier of a height of about 5 mm or more, but this may have a height of well below 1 mm.
The hydrophobic layer may be transparent or colored.
A frame element is generally to be understood as a mechanical element which, due to its vertical extent, constitutes a barrier to leaking fluid. It may be, for example, a plastic strip, which is glued to the support plate, or a profile strip which is plugged onto the side edge of the support plate and is vertically above the surface of the support plate addition.
The overflow protection may comprise only the first and the second subsection, but also further subsection, which together with the first and the second subsection form the overflow protection. Preferably, the overflow protection encloses the central region of the carrier plate completely.
The hydrophobic layer is preferably arranged along the outer edge of the carrier plate in the form of a strip having a width of 0.5 to 5 cm and in each case runs parallel to one of the outer edges of the carrier plate. However, it can also be arranged at a distance from the outer edge.
The hydrophobic layer preferably has a layer thickness of 5 nm to 100 μm. There is thus no or only a slight difference in height from the uncoated region of the carrier plate, and thus the surface with the hydrophobic layer can be fully utilized as a storage surface.
In a preferred embodiment, the hydrophobic layer is arranged in the form of an adhesive tape on the carrier plate, which allows a particularly simple application of the layer.
In the first subsection, preferably no frame element or another element is arranged which protrudes vertically beyond the surface of the hydrophobic layer, that is, only the hydrophobic layer acts as an overflow protection.
In the second subsection, in which the overflow protection comprises a frame element, the frame element is preferably arranged along the outer edge of the carrier plate and connected in a liquid-tight manner to the carrier plate. The frame element can be arranged only on the upper side of the carrier plate, or preferably extend around the outer edge of the carrier plate in the form of a profile strip. The liquid-tight connection can be formed, for example, in the form of a non-releasable adhesive bond, or in the form of a sealing lip, which allows a release of the frame member. This allows, inter alia, a simple and thorough cleaning of the frame element.
The frame member preferably protrudes vertically by a height H of 1.0 mm or more beyond the top of the carrier plate. Particularly preferably, the frame element protrudes by 2.0 to 20.0 mm beyond the top of the carrier plate. The frame element can fulfill other functions in addition to the function as overflow protection at the same time. A frame element on the front of the shelf can be designed as a grip part for pulling out the shelf, for example by a lip arranged on the underside. A frame member on the side of the shelf can be formed as a lateral guide rail, which forms a support for the shelf together with a correspondingly formed guide in the refrigerator. A frame element on the back may be formed as a rear floor boundary, which limits the shelf to the rear.
The frame member or a part of the frame member may be made detachable so that liquid caught by the weir protection can be drained off in a controlled manner. The removable part of the frame element may for example have a width of 0.5 cm to 5 cm and be deposited in color and / or shape of the frame member. Likewise, the frame member may extend over the entire front edge of the carrier plate and be designed to be removable. If liquid has leaked and been collected by the overflow protection, it is generally difficult to remove the liquid within the narrow interior of the refrigerator from the shelf. Also, a removal of the soil is not readily possible, since it can come with slight tilting of the soil to overflow the liquid. In the proposed solution, a collecting container is placed under the removable part of the frame member and removed the removable part, so that the liquid drains into the container. The proposed solution thus makes it possible in a simple manner to drain off at least part of the leaked liquid, so that the removal of the liquid as a whole is comfortably possible. In this preferred embodiment, the support plate can have a slight inclination of 1 ° to 8 °, preferably 2 ° to 5 ° relative to the horizontal, with the removable part of the frame element located at the lowest point, so that a large part of the liquid can be drained controlled , The angle of inclination refers to a built-in state of the shelf with horizontal orientation of the refrigerator.
In a second subsection, in which the overflow protection comprises a frame element, a hydrophobic layer can additionally be inserted between the Be arranged frame member and the central region, so that the frame member is protected from contamination.
The overflow protection has a front-side portion, a rear-side portion, and two side portions as viewed by a user, with the front-side portion located on the user-facing side and the back-side portion on the user-facing side.
In a preferred embodiment, the side portions of the overflow protector are formed substantially over their entire length as a hydrophobic layer, and the front and / or the rear portion comprises / substantially over the entire length of a frame member. Substantially, a length fraction of at least 50%, but preferably 80% or more is to be understood, whereby preferably only the transition regions arranged in the corners are excluded. This shelf has a particularly wide storage area.
The hydrophobic layer is therefore preferably arranged only in the less abrasion-prone surface areas of the shelf.
In a further preferred embodiment, the lateral portions of the overflow guard comprise a frame member over substantially their entire length and the front and / or rear portions formed substantially over its entire length as a hydrophobic layer. Substantially, a length fraction of at least 50%, but preferably 80% or more is to be understood, whereby preferably only the transition regions arranged in the corners are excluded. As a result, the shelf offers a particularly deep storage space. In this embodiment, the lateral frame elements preferably serve simultaneously as a guide and support of the shelf, so that it is possible to dispense with further support elements such as arranged under the shelf angle.
In a transition region between a first section, in which the overflow protection in the form of a hydrophobic layer is formed on the support plate, and a second section, which adjoins the first section, and in which the overflow protection comprises a frame member, the hydrophobic layer extends in a first embodiment to the lower edge of the frame member or below the frame member. In the first case, the hydrophobic layer thus directly adjoins the frame element and is limited by it. The first and second sections thus join each other with minimal expansion of the transition region. In the latter case, the hydrophobic layer extends from the first section in the transition region under the frame member, that is, in the transition region between the support plate and the frame element is arranged. This can be advantageous to an exact limitation of the hydrophobic layer, which means higher manufacturing costs, are dispensed with.
Bei dieser Ausführungsform wird sichergestellt, dass einIn a further embodiment of the transition region between a first section and a second section, the hydrophobic layer extends from the first section to the lower edge of the frame element and is then continued in the transition region on the rising edge of the frame element. In this embodiment it is ensured that a
Übergangsbereich keine Schwachstelle des Überlaufschutzes darstellt, in welcher Flüssigkeit bevorzugt ausläuft.Transition region is not a weak point of the overflow protection, in which liquid preferably expires.
In particular, in this embodiment of the transition region, the hydrophobic layer can be arranged on an adhesive tape, which can be adhered to the support plate and on the frame member.
The invention further relates to a carrier plate according to the same inventive principle.
The carrier plate according to the invention has an overflow protection, which is arranged along the circumference of the carrier plate, wherein the overflow protection is formed in a first section in the form of a hydrophobic layer on the support plate and in a second section, which adjoins the first section, a frame member includes. The support plate may be formed, for example, as a countertop, table top, chopping board, hob, cooktop, stove lid or counter, or a component thereof. In particular, it may be a hob of glass or glass ceramic.
