Description

The invention relates to a method according to the preamble of claim 1.

Methods and apparatus for bookbinding books have long been known in the art. Problems arise in conventional adhesive binding methods, in particular when using paper with a high surface-related mass. Here, the practice has shown that when exceeding a basis weight of 150 g / m 3, the quality requirements for the durability of an adhesive bond can no longer be met.

By the WO 2005/023555 A2 already a method for adhesive bonding has become known, in which for the production of an adhesive bond, the sheets to be joined or sheets first perforated, then folded once and provided at the edge of the fold with adhesive and then combined into a book block. The peculiarity here lies in the perforation, in which two mutually parallel and at a small distance from each other arranged discontinuous perforation are produced at the fold edge, which in the longitudinal direction, ie along the folded edge, offset from each other and form a widened folded edge. The two mutually parallel perforation lines each have a multiplicity of punched slots and form, for example, a "double slot perforation line". The slots of the two perforation lines are in this case along the folded edge offset by the length of a perforating tooth in the longitudinal direction against each other. By folding the signatures at the perforated, widened folded edge and merging the folded signatures into a block, due to the "double slot perforation line", mating surfaces are created between the apertures formed by the slots of one perforating line and outbreaks of the other perforating line, which can also be provided with adhesive , The once folded sheets or "double sheets" are pressed with the outbreaks of each subsequent folded double sheet to a book block.

CH 275 456 A offenbart keine Doppelperforierungslinie. CH 275 456 A discloses a method for perfect binding of book blocks for the production of books, in which at least one first and second printed sheet are perforated perforated, wherein a first perforation line on the first sheet and a second perforation on the second sheet each edge generated, in such a way that the second perforation line offset by a slot length to the first perforation line, and the remaining first and second printed sheet sections are joined together to form a book block and bonded together at the edge. CH 275 456 A does not disclose a double perforation line.

DE 10 2009 010821 A1 offenbart ein ähnliches Verfahren wie CH 275 456 A . DE 10 2009 010821 A1 discloses a similar method as CH 275 456 A ,

Object of the present invention is to provide a method for binding books, which allows processing of paper with high surface-related mass, in particular a basis weight greater than 150 g / m 3 . The task is achieved on the basis of the features of the preamble of claim 1 by its characterizing features.

The essential aspect of the method according to the invention can be seen in that a first double slot perforation line (3) on the first printed sheet and a second double slot perforation line (4) on the second printed sheet are respectively produced at the edge, in such a way that the second double slot perforation line is offset by one slot length extends to the first double slot perforation line that is separated from the first and second printed sheets each separated by the first and second double slot perforation strip strip-shaped edge portion and the remaining first and second printed sheet sections are joined together to form a book block and bonded together edge. According to the invention, the edge region of the signatures provided for producing the adhesive bond is particularly advantageously prepared in such a way that additional application surfaces for adhesive are formed, whereby the durability of adhesive bonds, in particular when processing paper with a high surface-related mass, for example greater than 150 g / m 3 , is markedly improved becomes.

Advantageously, by separating the strip-shaped edge portion at the first and second double-slot perforation line respectively, a first and second sheet edge is produced having a plurality of symmetrical, preferably rectangular, apertures formed respectively by the slots of a perforation line of a double slot perforation line. Due to the offset of the Doppelschlitzperforierungslinien two adjoining remaining sheet sections are separated by the outbreaks each opposite edge portions of the remaining sheet sections, which can be glued for bonding with each remaining next sheet sections with matching Doppelschlitzperforierungslinie. This results in addition to an increased adhesive surface particularly advantageous additional teeth of the sheets with each other.

The remaining first and second printed sheet sections are joined together to form a book block in such a way that the first and second sheet edges come to lie one above the other, wherein the outbreaks of the first and second sheets are particularly advantageous Sheet edge generated offset by a slot length to each other. To produce a book block, preferably a plurality of remaining first and second printed sheet sections are alternately stacked one above the other.

In an advantageous embodiment, the distance of the first and second perforation line is selected depending on the basis weight of the sheet to be processed, preferably in the range between 0.3 and 0.4 mm. As a result, the depth of the outbreaks can be at least partially increased or decreased.

Further advantageously, the first and second printed sheets can be produced from two rectangular paper sheets of the same format or from a paper web which are printed by means of a preferably digital printing press. In the case of production from paper sheets of the same format, the first and second printed sheets are slot-perforated arcwise. This advantageously results in a method for the automatic one-off production of individual, personalized books.

The invention will be explained in more detail by means of embodiments in conjunction with the figures. In addition, developments, advantages and possible applications of the invention also result from the following description of the embodiments and from the figures, within the scope of the claims.

In FIG. 1 By way of example, a first and second printed sheets 1, 2 are shown. In order to produce such a printed sheet 1, 2, for example, at least one rectangular paper sheet is cut out of a paper web, which for example has a width of about 320 mm and a length of about 460 mm. With a corresponding width of the paper web, it is of course also possible to produce two rectangular paper sheets of the same format in one work step. Also, any other rectangular formats are conceivable.

The rectangular paper sheets are preferably printed on one or two sides by means of a digital printing machine and thus yield a first and second printed sheets 1, 2, which are combined to form a book block for producing a book, for example a photo book, and glued together. Such a printed sheet 1, 2 has in each case a first and second broad side 1.1, 1.2, 2.1, 2.2 and a first and second longitudinal side 1.3, 1.4, 2.3, 2.4.

According to the invention, the first and second printed sheets 1, 2 are subjected to a perforation process prior to merging into a book block, namely the at least one first double slot perforation line 3 is introduced into the first printed sheet 1 and a second double slot perforation line 4 is inserted into the second printed sheet 2. Alternatively to the aforementioned sheet-wise processing, the first and second Double slot perforation line 3, 4 are already introduced into the paper web after printing and then the first and second printed sheets 1, 2 are made from the paper web.

The first double-slot perforation line 3 comprises a first and a second perforation line 3.1, 3.2 each consisting of a plurality of slots S, each with identical slot length SL and slot width SB. The second double-slot perforation line 4 likewise consists of a first and a second perforation line 4.1, 4.2, which are each formed by a plurality of slots S, wherein here too the slots S each have the same slot length SL and slot width SB.

The slot pitch SA of two successive slots S of the first and second double-slot perforation lines 3, 4 is identical and coincides with the slot length SL. Thus, the first and second Doppelschlitzperforierungslinie 3, 4 on a mirror-inverted course. The slot length SL and the slot spacing SA can be between 3 mm and 5 mm, the slot width SB being between 0.1 mm and 0.3 mm.

The first and second perforation lines 3.1, 3.2 of the first double slot perforation line 3 and the first and second perforation lines 4.1, 4.2 of the second double slot perforation line 4 each extend parallel to one another, along a longitudinal axis LA. The first and second perforation line 3.1, 3.2, 4.1, 4.2 of a Doppelschlitzperforierungslinie 3, 4 each have a distance D of about 0.3 mm to 0.4 mm, preferably depending on the basis weight of the sheet to be processed or to whose production is chosen selected paper web.

In Fig. 2 and Fig. 3a, b The structure of the first and second perforation line 3.1, 3.2 of the first double slot perforation line 3 and of the first and second perforation line 4.1, 4.2 of the second double slot perforation line 4 is illustrated in schematic representations. Fig. 2 shows, for example, an enlarged sectional view of a plan view of the lower left corner of the first and second printing sheets 1, 2 of FIG. 1 ,

According to the invention, the first and second double-slot perforation lines 3, 4 are introduced peripherally in the first and second printing sheets 1, 2, i. run along and preferably parallel to one of the broad sides 1.1, 1.2, 2.1, 2.2 or one of the longitudinal sides 1.3, 1.4, 2.3, 2.4 of the first and second printing sheets 1, 2.

In the present exemplary embodiment, the first and second double slot perforation lines 3, 4 are provided, for example, on the left edge of the first and second printing sheets 1, 2 and thus extend immediately adjacent to the first longitudinal side 1.3, 2.3 of the first and second printing sheets 1, 2.

By the first and second double slot perforation line 3, 4, the first and second printing sheets 1, 2 is divided into two sections, namely a strip-shaped edge portion 1 ', 2' and a remaining first and second printed sheet section 1 ", 2", for the production the book block is used, whereas the strip-shaped edge portion 1 ', 2' is disposed of as waste. The strip-shaped edge portion 1 ', 2' therefore has a small width, preferably in the range between 5 and 30 mm, in comparison to the remaining printed-sheet portion 1 ", 2".

By means of the first and second double slot perforation lines 3, 4, the strip-shaped edge section 1 ', 2' can be quickly and easily separated from the remaining sheet section 1 ", 2", approximately along the longitudinal axis LA of the first and second double slot perforation lines 3, 4 FIG. 3 For example, a plan view of the left lower corner portion of the first printing sheet 1 is shown, once before and after the separation of the strip-shaped edge portion 1 'from the remaining sheet portion 1 ".

By separating the strip-shaped edge portion 1 ', 2' arises due to the first and second double slot perforation line 3, 4, a first and second sheet edge 5, 6 with a plurality of similar, preferably rectangular outbreaks A. The outbreaks A of the first and second sheet edges. 5 , 6 are each formed by the slots S of the double slot perforation line 3, 4, preferably through the slots S of the first perforation line 3.1, 4.1. The outbreaks A have an excavation width AB and a excavation depth TA and are at an outbreak distance AA to each other arranged. Approximately, the excavation depth AT is equal to the slot width SB of the double slot perforation line 3, 4 and is between 0.1 mm and 0.3 mm. The break-out width AB corresponds to the slot length SL, wherein the break-out distance AA is predetermined by the slot spacing SA and thus coincides with the break-out width AB.

By the outbreaks A arise outwardly projecting flange sections F, the surface area corresponds approximately with the surface area of the outbreaks A. The resulting in plan view rectangular shape of the sheet edges 5, 6 is the first remaining sheet section 1 "compared to the second remaining sheet section 2" offset by a slit length SL and an outbreak width AB.

The remaining first and second printed sheet sections 1 ", 2" are then joined together to form a book block such that the first and second printed sheet edges 5, 6 come to lie one above the other. Because of the shift by one slit length SL or an outbreak width AB, the outbreaks A alternately adjoin one another with respect to the remaining longitudinal and transverse sides of the first and second remaining sheet sections 1 ", 2" lying flush one above the other, in such a way that the respective two Outbreaks A interconnecting flange portions F of the superimposed first and second remaining sheet sections 1 ", 2" form a closed arc edge.

Through the breakouts A of the second remaining sheet section 2 ", the flange portions F of the underlying first remaining sheet section 1" are exposed to follow the flange sections F of another first printed sheet section 1 "following the second remaining sheet section 2" in the book block , can be glued. Analogously thereto, the flange sections F of the second remaining printed sheet section 2 "can be bonded to the flange sections of a further, second remaining printed sheet section 2", between which a first remaining printed sheet section 1 "is received or partially enclosed by the latter.

To produce a book block, preferably at least two remaining first printed-sheet sections 1 "and two remaining second printed-sheet sections 1", 2 "are alternately superimposed the outbreaks A of the second remaining sheet section 2 "exempted flange portion F of the first surviving sheet sections 1" and analogous thereto by the outbreaks A of the first remaining sheet section 1 "exempted flange portions F of the second remaining sheet section 2" are glued together in the book block and thus one achieved highly resistant adhesive bond between the individual remaining sheet sections 1 ", 2". In particular, a kind of "toothing" results in each of the adjoining remaining sheet sections 1 ", 2". Furthermore, a checkerboard-like arrangement of outbreaks A, in which adhesives can be introduced in a particularly simple and efficient manner, is produced on the end face of the book block intended for adhesive bonding.

FIG. 6 shows by way of example a perspective view of superimposed first and second remaining sheet sections 1 ", 2", which form a book block. The outbreaks A are here dashed lines and the edges of the flange sections F drawn without filling pattern, so that the checkerboard-like arrangement of the outbreaks A is clearly visible. The illustrated arrangement allows a direct bonding of a remaining sheet section 1 "with the remaining next sheet press section 1" same perforation type.

The invention has been described above by means of an embodiment. It should be understood that numerous modifications and variations of the invention are possible without departing from the spirit of the invention as defined in the claims.
