Definitions

  • the invention relates to packs with an outer wrapping made of film, in particular cigarette packs, in the embodiment according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
  • cigarette packs are usually provided with a specially designed blank which, in particular for fiscal reasons, has to be destroyed when the pack is used. This applies to the tax stamps that are common in many countries.
  • a pack according to the preamble of claim 1 is known from US Pat WO 01/85574 A1 .
  • An outer wrapping of a pack is cut through with a tear strip in such a way that a section of a band remains on the pack and a further, different section adheres to an upper part of the outer wrapping and is removed with it.
  • a pack is known in which the tear strip for severing the outer wrapper is used as a means for severing the band (approximately in the middle). According to the description of the text, this is connected on the one hand to the pack itself and on the other hand to the inside of the outer casing by full-surface glue connections.
  • the glue layer assigned to the outer cover should only be effective temporarily (stick-no-stick glue) in order to fix the banderole in the correct position during the manufacturing process of the packs on a film web for the outer cover.
  • the connection of the band with the outer wrapping therefore loses its effect, so that ultimately the banderole is only connected (over the entire surface) to the pack and is severed when the tear strip is operated.
  • the banderole is attached by means of glue (only) to the inside of the inner wrapping, specifically in the area of the tear strip running inside. When it is operated to cut through the outer cover, the band is cut.
  • a pack with an outer wrapping which has a band which is arranged on the rear of a lid of the pack and which is connected to the packaging on the one hand and to the outer wrapping on the other hand.
  • WO 01/85574 discloses a cigarette pack with an outer wrapping made of film and with a band attached between the pack and the outer wrapping which can be severed when the outer wrapping is removed with the assistance of a tear strip attached to the outer wrapping.
  • the known designs are not suitable for ensuring a reliable, manipulation-free removal or destruction of the band when the pack is used.
  • the technology of destroying banderoles in packs with an outer wrapping made of film is further developed and improved.
  • the object on which the invention is based is to design or arrange the sleeve, the outer wrapping and / or the tear strip in such a way that comprehensible, reliable cancellation of the label is given for all versions of (cuboid) packs.
  • the pack according to the invention is designed with the features of the characterizing part of claim 1.
  • the pack according to the invention it is achieved that when the tear-open means for the outer wrapping is operated and / or when this outer wrapping is removed, at least a portion of the band is removed, namely due to a corresponding connection with the outer wrapping. At least one other, defined section of the band remains on the pack so that even after the outer wrapping has been removed, the original presence of a band and its destruction can only be traced on the basis of the pack.
  • the (rectangular) band is provided with at least one line of weakness running essentially transversely to the longitudinal extension, in particular a perforation line, which is attached in such a way that (the) part (s) of the band remaining on the pack when the outer cover is removed through a defined, exact Edge edge - due to the weakening line - is limited.
  • the band In order to achieve the targeted separation or division of the band during the opening process, it is connected by means of defined (glue) connections on the one hand to the pack and on the other hand to the inside of the outer casing, with glue areas, in particular glue strips or glue dots, being connected to one part the pack and the other part for connection to the outer casing are assigned. It is also important that the line of weakness of the band influences the shape or course of the tear lines or tear edges generated by the tear strip in the film of the outer wrapping, in particular by inclined or divergent lines of weakness.
  • the tear strip for severing the outer wrapping is in a special position relative to the glue points arranged on different sides of the band on the one hand and to the perforation line or lines on the other hand, so that when the outer wrapping is removed, the separation between the parts assigned to the pack on the one hand and those of the Outer envelope associated parts on the other hand takes place.
  • a continuous (film) web for the outer wrapping is provided with glue points in the correct position by means of a glue head for attaching the band to the web, in particular with glue points made of PSA glue (pressure sensitive adhesive).
  • PSA glue pressure sensitive adhesive
  • This glue is applied using the hot melt process.
  • the band is provided with glue on the free side - in an offset relative position - in order to establish a connection with the pack.
  • the glue applied in this second glue station can also be permanently tacky PSA glue.
  • conventional hotmelt can be used on the free side of the band fixed to the web to form the one connecting the band with the pack Glue areas applied. These are activated by heat and pressure after completion of the pack.
  • a further alternative of the method consists in connecting the band, which is (first) fixed to the web, to the pack separately from the preparation of the web.
  • glue in particular cold glue
  • the band is (first) fixed to the web
  • glue is applied to the packs fed to a cutting station, specifically in the area of the band to be attached.
  • glue can be applied to the separately supplied bands.
  • separate bands are provided with (cold) glue on a side facing the packs and then placed on the pack in the correct position.
  • glue is applied to the free outside of the band (on the pack) in an offset position, preferably conventional hotmelt. Then the blank is folded in the usual way and the hotmelt glue is activated by heat.
  • Packs 10 for sensitive consumer goods, in particular for cigarettes, are often surrounded by an outer wrapper 11 made of foil to protect the contents of the pack.
  • Pack 10 and outer casing 11 conceptually form a pack unit.
  • the exemplary embodiments shown relate to cigarette packs 10 made of thin cardboard.
  • a package 10 of the "shell and slide" type is shown. This standard consists of an inner pack, namely a slide 12 and an outer pack, namely a sleeve 13.
  • the slide 12 is usually designed as a tray-shaped container.
  • the sleeve 13 consists of an essentially rectangular blank which is folded to form a hollow body which is open at both ends and has a rectangular cross-section.
  • a (large-area) rear wall 14 has a tab connection 15 on, namely an edge tab which is connected to a wall tab of the rear wall 14 by gluing.

  • the tear strip 19 preferably extends all around the pack 10, in the present case in the area of a front, rear 14, bottom and front 16, specifically (approximately) in a vertical (imaginary) central plane.
  • the tear strip 19 is continuously connected on the inside to the blank of the outer casing 11, preferably by gluing.
  • a grip tab 20 is formed at a free end for grasping the tear strip 19 when the packaging unit is opened. By grasping this tab 20 and pulling the tear strip 19, it continuously cuts through the film of the outer cover 10 on both sides can be deducted ( Fig. 3 ).
  • the grip tab 20 is preferably arranged at the bottom in the area of a bottom wall or opposite to the front side 16 and is free for manual gripping on the rear side of the packaging unit or the rear wall 14.
  • the pack 10 or the pack unit is provided with a special blank, namely a band 23, which is to be destroyed and partially removed when the pack unit is opened for the first time.
  • the band 23 is in particular a fiscal one or tax label. This must be attached in such a way that it is destroyed by the initial opening process.
  • the band 23 is attached here to a large wall of the pack 10, in this case on the rear wall 14 of the sleeve 13, namely adjacent to an upper edge of the rear wall 14 or adjacent to the front side 16.
  • the rectangular, elongated or strip-shaped band 23 extends perpendicular to the longitudinal extension of the pack 10.
  • the packaging unit is designed in such a way that the band 23 is divided by removing the outer covering 11 by means of tear strips 19. As a result, at least a portion 24 of the band 23 remains on the pack 10, that is to say in connection with it. At least one other section 25 of the banderole 23 adheres to the outer cover 11 and is therefore disposed of.
  • the band is connected with different connecting means, in the present case with glue, on the one hand to the pack 10 and on the other hand, namely at another point, to the inside of the outer casing 11.
  • the tear strip 19 is positioned between the functionally assigned connection points of the band 23, so that at least two sections 24, 25 of the band 23 are created directly or indirectly by the band 23.
  • the band 23 is severed directly by the tear strip 19, which for this purpose runs on the inside of the band 23, that is, between band 23 and pack 10 or rear wall 14.
  • the banderole 23 is connected to the pack 10 by a first strip of glue 26, here with the rear wall 14.
  • the strip of glue 26 extends at the edge approximately over the full width of the banderole 23.
  • At least one further glue connection or another glue strip 27 is at a distance of the first strip of glue 26 and arranged essentially parallel to it, namely on the opposite side of the band 23 for connecting the same to the inside of the outer cover 11.
  • the tear strip 19 is positioned between these two strips of glue 26, 27, with the result that at When the tear strip 19 is actuated, the band 23 is severed between the glue strips 26, 27 acting on opposite sides.
  • the section 24 with the glue strip 26 remains in connection with the pack 10 and the part 25 with the glue strip 27 in connection with the outer casing 11.
  • a third strip of glue 28 is provided in the present case, which is arranged in the area of the section 25 for connecting the band 23 to the outer wrapping 10, likewise parallel and at a balanced distance from the adjacent glue strip 27, so that the band 23 as a whole according to the geometric shape is fixed by glue.
  • Another special feature is the arrangement of at least one weakening line in or on the band 23, in this case a perforation line 29, which extends transversely to the band 23 over the full width thereof. Due to the arrangement in Figs. 1 to 3 the perforation line 29 lies parallel to the tear strip 19 and at a small distance therefrom on the side assigned to the glue strip 26.
