Definitions

  • the present invention relates to an apparatus for withdrawing a fluid from at least one container, in particular from a container closed by a pierceable closure, e.g. a vial with septum closure.
  • the present invention relates to a device for filling an applicator with at least one fluid reservoir of one or more vials.
  • the task is to produce and discharge a mixture of two or more flowable components in a predetermined mixing ratio.
  • an adhesive for technical or medical applications, eg a fibrin-based medical adhesive.
  • Another example is the preparation of a multi-component bone cement using a monomer.
  • drugs that are made by mixing two or more components that are non-storable in the mixed state. In this case, it is desirable to first store the components separately and to mix them just prior to their administration. Similar objects also arise in other pharmaceutical or chemical systems of two or more components that are not stable in the mixed state.
  • the device has a connection region on which two connections for the reservoirs are formed. On the opposite side of a hood for receiving the vials is formed.
  • the septa of the vials are pierced by hollow needles, which communicate via fluid channels with the connections for the reservoirs.
  • the fluid channels divert the fluids between the vials and the reservoir ports so that the reservoir spacing may be less than the pitch of the hollow needles.
  • the structure of such a filling device is relatively complicated: the device comprises two separately formed housing halves, which must be connected together to form the connection area and the hood. Before connecting the two halves, the fluid channels are inserted with the connections for the reservoirs and with the hollow needles in the housing halves.
  • FIGS. 8-14 discloses in FIGS. 8-14 a filling device for a double-syringe applicator made of vials.
  • This filling device has a disc-like base body with a bottom and a top. At the top two inlet openings are spaced apart from each other, which are connected to piercing organs in cup-like Vialhaltern. At the bottom two outlet ports are formed with a smaller distance, to which the applicator is connectable. In each case one inlet opening and outlet opening are connected to one another by a fluid channel running perpendicular to these openings.
  • This filling device also has a relatively large loss volume.
  • the vials are usually simply inserted into the device to puncture the septa. In some of these devices, the vials are then, after complete insertion into the device and after piercing the septa, fixed by a snap connection to the device.
  • known devices are usually not suitable to the vials directly to the Store as it can not be ruled out that the septum of a vial is inadvertently punctured during transport or handling.

  • the device in the region of the container connection preferably has a container receptacle which is designed to hold the container to the device.
  • the device can also be used for other purposes, such as an adapter for connecting a container to an accessory, such as a mixer or atomizer. Also in such applications, it may be desirable to divert fluid between the container and the accessory while minimizing the loss volume.
  • the container may then be eg a carpule (ie a container with pierceable closure and displaceable piston) or a single or multiple syringe, and the container connection may then be designed accordingly.
  • a suitably designed connection for the accessory can then be present.
  • the device can be configured for the simultaneous removal of fluids from at least two containers.
