Description

The invention relates to a book with a hardcover according to the preamble of claim 1.

Hardcover books, often referred to as "hardcover" books, are well known and available in many different forms on the book market.

Basically, such a book consists of a book block and a hard cover, the hard cover in turn composed of two rigid cover lids and a binding cover connecting the cover spine element. The edges of the cover lids protrude beyond the book block so that the section of the book block is protected by the overhanging edges of the cover lids. Especially in high-quality books, but especially in photo books that are made on individual customer request, the strength and stiffness of the cover and the nature of the flexible connection of the cover with the spine element for the stability of the book plays an essential role. Likewise, the material used to make the hardcover is important to the overall design of the book.

In addition to improved stability, the choice of the connection type of cover lids and spine element, for example, facilitate the opening or opening of the book and influence the buckling behavior of the individual sides of the buck block in the open state of the book. For example, hinged connections between cover lids and spine element are used for the purpose of facilitating the impact or for better "keeping open" of the open book.

That's how it describes DE 200 13 441 U1 For example, a photo album with a multi-part cover made of wood, wherein the cover lids are hingedly connected to the back element. On the back element and on the cover lids of the disclosed photo album mutually hinges forming hollow body are fixed, the toothing mesh with each other. A hollow body passing through the connecting pin forms at the same time the pivot axis. About a multi-part, attached to the back member holder, at least one image carrier can be flexibly attached.

Likewise describes the DE 77 38 110 U1 an album in which a fixed front and back cover and individual sheets with hinges, consisting of hinge members are inserted through the connecting pins, are connected together. The hinge members of the individual sheets of the disclosed album are alternately offset, so that inserted connecting pins each connect the hinge members of a Nutzblattes with those of another Nutzblattes. At the same time inserted connecting pins connect the hinge members of a Nutzblattes with the counter-hinge members of the corresponding lid.

Furthermore, from the DE 299 18 698 U1 For example, a book with cover pages made of wood, in which the cover pages are connected by a hinge with at least three hinged eyelets made of wood. The book disclosed is a book made entirely of wood.

Dokument GB-A-1276088 offenbart ein Buch mit einem doppelgelenkigen Filmscharnier.document GB-A-1276088 discloses a book with a double hinge film hinge.

Disadvantageously, the known from the cited prior art books or albums hard covers on a poor Aufschlageverhalten, in particular, these can not be pitched. There is therefore still a need for hardback books in which the hard cover covers are connected to the spine member via suitable hinged connections such that they have an improved impact behavior.

Proceeding from this, the present invention seeks to provide a book with hard cover available in which the stiff cover cover are hinged to the spine element that an enlarged opening angle is possible and the individual pages of the book block in an unfolded, open state of the book have a very small bulge. The object is achieved on the basis of the preamble of claim 1 and its characterizing features.

The invention comprises a book with a multi-part hardcover and a book block, wherein the multi-part hardcover at least one front and rear cover cover and the front and rear cover cover flexibly connecting Has spine element. The invention is characterized in particular by the fact that the front and the rear cover cover is connected via at least one double joint hinge articulated to the spine element.

Due to the inventive articulation of the front and / or rear cover cover on the spine element via double joint hinges pivoting of the cover cover relative to the spine element with an enlarged pivot angle is particularly advantageous. The book block of the book according to the invention is firmly connected only to the front and rear cover cover, in particular glued. There is no bonding of the book block provided with the spine element. When opening the book according to the invention, the front and / or the rear cover cover can be swung out so that the book can be opened with a 180 ° reaching or beyond opening angle. Advantageously, an undesirable bulging of the individual pages of the book block can be reduced due to an associated with the increased opening angle increase or curvature of the book block back.

According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the front and / or the rear cover cover are each pivotally connected to the spine element via at least two double-joint hinges, preferably three or four double-joint hinges. Through the use of multiple double joint hinges, both the stability of the connection between the cover lids and the spine element can be increased as well as the overall design of the book can be adapted to predetermined requirements or customer requirements.

Particular advantages are obtained when the double-joint hinge has a first and second hinge section connected to one another via a connecting section and arranged along a sectional plane. The first hinge portion is preferably connected by means of a first, pivotable about a first pivot axis hinge pin with the spine element and the second hinge portion is connected by means of a second pivotable about a second pivot axis hinge pin with the front or rear cover cover. The hinge pins thus represent approximately the pivot axes, which are taken up substantially in the sectional plane of the double joint hinge. The to the connection of Double joint hinges with the cover lids or with the spine element provided hinge pins are on the one hand with the individual hinge portions and on the other hand with the cover lids or with the spine element in engagement.

For this purpose, the cover lids and the spine element preferably have recesses and hinge lugs on the longitudinal edges. For receiving the double joint hinges, the recesses of the front and rear cover cover are arranged opposite to the recesses of the spine element. As a result, a receiving space for the double-joint hinges is essentially formed. The hinge eyelets of the cover cover and the spine element are each provided with a bore into which engage the hinge pins. The hinge pins are preferably made of wood, but may also be made of plastic or metal.

Particularly preferably, the first and second hinge section connecting connecting portion of the double joint hinge is formed such that on at least one upper side of the double joint hinge a notch between the first and second hinge portion is provided. The notch having upper side of the double joint hinge is preferably directed towards the book or the hard cover outward. When opening the book by pivoting the cover cover relative to the spine element about the two pivot axes would strike a smooth surface of the double joint hinges on the edge parallel to the pivot axis of the recesses. The opening or opening of the book would encounter a limit at this point of impact. However, this stop can be prevented due to the notch on at least the upper side of the double joint hinges, which will help to an enlarged opening angle for the book.

Bei einem über 180° hinausgehenden Öffnungswinkel hingegen laufen die Ebenen der Einbanddeckel in einem stumpfen Winkel auf die Ebene des Buchrückenelementes zu.Particularly preferably, in an unfolded state of the book, a plane of the front cover cover and / or a plane of the back cover cover extend substantially parallel to a plane of the spine element, or the planes of the front and / or rear cover cover run at an approximately obtuse angle to the plane of the book cover Spine element to. As already mentioned, the book block is not glued to the spine element but only to the front and back cover. The bonding of the book block with the hardcover is preferably carried out that both during the opening of the book as well as in the fully opened state each cover cover overlaps the spine element in sections. The plane of the spine element thus represents a lowermost, resting on a table or other surface level. The levels of the cover cover extending, starting from above the plane of the spine element, so they are offset from the plane of the spine element. At a final opening angle of the book of 180 °, the levels of the cover covers substantially parallel to the plane of the spine element, the plane of the front cover and the level of the back cover coincide in a common plane. With an opening angle exceeding 180 °, on the other hand, the levels of the cover lids run at an obtuse angle to the plane of the spine element.

Very particular advantages also result from the fact that in an unfolded state of the book, the pivot axes receiving cutting plane of the double joint hinge includes both with the plane of the spine element as well as the plane of the front cover cover and / or the level of the rear cover cover an acute angle. As already mentioned, the arrangement of the individual elements of the hardcover overlapping in the unfolded state of the book, which is ultimately caused by the corresponding attachment of the book block in the hardcover, is particularly advantageous. For a given degree of overlap, the cutting plane receiving the pivot axis of the double joint hinge extends to the levels of the cover cover or the spine element in a direction deviating from the right angle alignment. This also favors the Aufschlag behavior of the book. By adhering to the acute angle between the cutting axis receiving the cutting plane of the double hinges and the levels of cover cover or the spine element of the book block back is pressed or bulged in such a way that the individual pages of the book block are substantially flat and smooth in front of the viewer , which leads to a significant relief when viewing or reading the content.

According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the front cover cover and / or the back cover cover and / or the spine element are made of a solid material, preferably made of wood. A very high-quality impression can be obtained by the fact that the hardcover is made entirely of wood, the means that the double joint hinges are preferably also made of wood. By using noble wood species, possibly also by combination of different types of wood, an altogether noble and appealing design can be achieved. Alternatively, however, other materials, such as metal, plastic or a wood fiber material can be used for the production of hard cover.

The front and rear cover cover, for example, be formed one or more parts, resulting in more design options. In addition, it is conceivable that ornaments, such as carvings, engravings or inlays are at least partially provided on the cover lids and the book back element. As inlays, for example, objects or elements made of high quality materials, such as precious metals or stones and gems can be incorporated. Alternatively or additionally, the hard cover may be at least partially covered with leather or fabric.

The invention also includes a multi-part hardcover for making a book according to the invention comprising at least one front and back cover cover and a front and back cover cover flexibly connecting spine element. The multi-part hardcover is characterized in particular by the fact that the front and / or the rear cover cover is connected via at least one double joint hinge articulated to the spine element.

Preferably fall in an unfolded state of the hard cover according to the invention a plane of the front cover cover and a plane of the rear cover cover and a plane of the spine element in a common plane together, wherein the sectional plane of the double hinge also extends in the common plane. Particular advantages also arise if the front and / or rear cover cover is pivotable relative to the spine element by means of the double joint hinges by a pivot angle of more than 180 °, preferably by a pivot angle of approximately 360 ° in the solid cover according to the invention.

The invention will be explained in more detail by means of embodiments in conjunction with the figures. In addition, developments, advantages and applications of the invention also result from the following description of the Embodiments and from the figures.

The FIG. 1 shows a perspective view of an inventive book 1 in a closed state.

The book 1 comprises at least one book block 3 and a multi-part hardcover 2, which in turn consists of a front cover cover 2.1, a rear cover cover 2.2 and the two cover cover 2.1, 2.2 flexibly interconnecting spine element 2.3.

According to the invention, the front and rear cover lids 2.1, 2.2 are connected in an articulated manner to the spine element 2.3 via at least one double-jointed hinge 4. In the example shown, four double-joint hinges 4 are regularly spaced from each other for the articulated connection of front and rear cover cover 2.1, 2.2 with the spine element 2.3.

To open the book 1 or to unfold the front and the rear cover cover 2.1, 2.2 are pivotable relative to the spine element 2.3 each along two pivot axes SA1, SA2, wherein the pivot axes are substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis LA of the spine element 2.3.

The substantially rectangular shaped cover cover 2.1, 2.2 have recesses 7 and hinged eyelets 7 'on the hinged on the spine element 2.3 edges. The spine element 2.3 likewise has recesses 8 and hinged eyelets 8 'on the two longitudinal edges to which the cover lids 2.1, 2.2 are articulated. To accommodate the double joint hinges 4, the recesses 7, 8 on the spine element 2.3 and the cover lids 2.1, 2.2 are arranged opposite each other and thus form a receiving space for the double joint hinges 4. Each hinge eye 7 ', 8' is each provided with a bore for receiving a hinge pin 5, 6 (see FIG. 2 ), wherein the bore extends substantially parallel to the corresponding hinged edge.

In the FIG. 2a is a double joint hinge 4 in perspective, in the FIG. 2b shown in cross section. The double joint hinge 4 for the inventive articulated connection of the cover cover 2.1, 2.2 with the spine element 2.3 has a first and a second interconnected via a connecting section 4.3 hinge section 4.1, 4.2. The first hinge section 4.1 can be connected by means of a first hinge pin 5 about a first pivot axis SA1 pivotally connected to the spine element 2.3 and the second hinge section 4.2 can by means of a second hinge pin 6 about a second pivot axis SA2 pivotally connected to a front or rear cover cover 2.1, 2.2 , The two pivot axes SA1, SA2 are substantially taken up by a sectional plane SE of the double joint hinge.

The connecting section 4.3 connecting the first and second hinge section 4.1, 4.2 is preferably designed such that a notch 9 is provided between the first and second hinge section 4.1, 4.2 on at least one upper side 4 'of the double hinge 4. In the example shown, the connecting portion 4.3 forms, together with the hinge portions 4.1, 4.2 on a lower side 4 "of the double joint hinge 4, an approximately parallel to the cutting plane SE extending continuous, flat and smooth surface.

In Book 1 of the invention, the double joint hinges 4 are arranged in the recesses 7, 8 of the cover cover 2.1, 2.2 and the spine element 2.3 that the hinge pins 5, 6 with the holes provided for the hinge eyes 7 ', 8' are engaged. The first pivot axis SA1 extends approximately along the longitudinal edges of the spine element 2.3 and the second pivot axis SA2 extends approximately along the hinged edges of the front and rear cover cover 2.1, 2.2. Both pivot axes extend substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis LA of the spine element 2.3. The notch 9 having upper side 4 'of the double joint hinge 4 is preferably directed to the outside relative to the book 1 and the hard cover 2.

In the FIG. 3 is an end view of an unfolded, inventive book 1 is shown schematically. The existing of several single sheets book block 3, the individual sheets are glued together in a book block back 10 is taken from the multi-part hardback 2 and firmly connected to this. In this case, the book block 3 is firmly bonded only to the front and back cover cover 2.1, 2.2, the spine element 2.3 of the hard cover 2 is not connected to the book block 3. The book block back 10 is accordingly in an unconnected state. The book block 3 can, for example, be fastened to the cover lids 2.1, 2.2 via an outer sheet which is reinforced in comparison to the individual pages of the book block 3. Likewise, for example, so-called Fälzelstreifen for bonding the book block 3 with the cover lids 2.1, 2.2 are used.

The firm connection between book block 3 and hardcover 2 is designed such that in a fully opened or unfolded state of the book 1, the levels E ', E "of the front and back cover cover 2.1, 2.2 and the plane E"' of Spine element offset from each other. Starting from a resting on a table or other support surface, open book that means that the plane E '"of the spine element 2.3 below the levels E', E" of the front and back cover cover 2.1, 2.2 runs.

When unfolding the book 1, namely by pivoting the front and rear cover cover 2.1, 2.2 to the two pivot axes SA1, SA2 remain the cover cover 2.1, 2.2 arranged relative to the spine element 2.3 so that they still overlap in the region of the hinge-like articulation, ie do not come to lie next to each other. At the same time, each double joint hinge 4 assumes a position in which the cutting plane SE in each case has an acute angle α with the plane E '"of the spine element and an acute angle α' with the plane E 'of the front binding cover 2.1 or with the plane E" the rear cover cover 2.2 includes. Due to the inventive compound of the individual elements of the hard cover 2 with double joint hinges 4 and due to the described arrangement of the elements of the hard cover 2 to each other, it is possible, the cover cover 2.1, 2.2 auszuschwenken with an enlarged pivot angle, so that as in the illustrated embodiment of the book according to the invention 1 the levels E ', E "of the front and rear cover cover 2.1, 2.2 in an approximately obtuse angle to the plane E'" of the spine element 2.3 to run.

This described above swinging or unfolding the cover cover 2.1, 2.2 is additionally supported by the special design of the double joint hinges 4 with notch 9 (see FIGS. 2a . 2 B ). Due to the relative to the book or the hard cover preferably outwardly directed notch 9 premature stop is prevented. When the book 1 is opened by pivoting the cover cover 2.1, 2.2 relative to the spine element 2.3 about the two pivot axes SA1, SA2, a smooth surface of the double hinge 4 would abut the edges of the recesses 7 of the cover lids 2.1, 2.2 running parallel to the pivot axis SA1, SA2. The opening or opening of the book 1 would encounter a limit at this stop point, but the stop can be prevented due to the notch 9 on the upper side 4 'of the double joint hinge 4. Due to the special arrangement of the double joint hinges 4 and thus the possible wide opening of the book 1, the book block back 10 is arched away when you open the book 1 from the spine element 2.3 away upwards. With the curvature of the book block back 10 takes, for example, the shape of a sheet, in particular a parabolic arc, in the nearest approximation, a vertex portion of the sheet has an enlarged, predetermined distance d to the spine element 2.3. The curvature brings the very special advantage that the single sheets or the individual pages of the book block 3 are barely bulged or not at all and the pages of the open book 1 are smooth in front of his beholder. It goes without saying that this represents a considerable relief when viewing or reading the content of the pages and at the same time an automatic collapse or page turning of the bulging pages is prevented.

The FIG. 4 The multi-part hardcover 2 comprises a front cover cover 2.1, a rear cover cover 2.2 and the two cover cover 2.1, 2.2 flexibly interconnecting spine element 2.3, the front and rear cover cover 2.1, 2.2 on four double joint hinges 4 articulated to the spine element 2.3 are connected.

The double-joint hinges 4 appear in the illustrated plan view as flat smooth and planar elements, since they can be seen in plan view of their lower side 4 "(see. FIGS. 2a . 2 B ). Due to the double joint hinges 4, each cover cover 2.1, 2.2 can be pivoted relative to the spine element 2.3 about two pivot axes SA1, SA2. As it is particularly in the frontal view of the hard cover 2 in the FIG. 5 is indicated, the cover cover 2.1, 2.2 relative to the spine element 2.3 by a pivot angle γvon more than 180 °, preferably by a pivot angle γvon approximately 360 ° pivot.

In the in the FIG. 5 shown unfolded state of the hard cover 2 fall the plane E 'of the front cover cover 2.1 and the plane E "of the rear cover cover 2.2 and the plane E"' of the spine element 2.3 in a common plane E together. The sectional planes SE of the double joint hinges 4 are also in the common plane E, in which the pivot axes SA1 and SA2 are added.

The invention has been described above by means of an embodiment. It is understood that numerous modifications and variations of the invention are possible, which fall under the claims.
