Ein solcher Umschlag ist also problemlos zu handhaben. Aus Fig. 3 geht außerdem hervor, daß bei der Herstellung der erfindungsgemäßen Ringbindung 1, insb. beim Klemmen der Ringe, der 8-seitige Umschlag 10 nicht störend im Weg ist, obwohl er an beiden Enden eingebunden ist, weil man ihn sozusagen "umstülpen" kann. Bei der Herstellung der erfindungsgemäßen Ringbindung ist es ratsam, für den 8-seitigen Umschlag ein besonders starkes Papier, vorzugsweise mit mindestens 300 g pro m² Flächengewicht zu verwenden. Das Herstellungsverfahren ist genau dasselbe wie für die bekannten Ringbindungen des Standes der Technik, bei denen der 8-seitige Umschlag 10 nur an einem freien Ende 18 oder 19 eingebunden ist. Der Block 23 wird an einer Längsseite mit einer Hilfsklebung versehen und an den restlichen 3 Seiten geschnitten. Dann werden entlang der geklebten Längsseite die Löcher für die Ringbindung gestanzt. Anschließend wird auch diese Seite beschnitten, so daß die Hilfsklebung wegfällt. Nun werden der Block sowie der 8-seitige Umschlag 10 in dem in Fig. 3 gezeigten aufgeklappten Zustand eingehängt, und die Ringbindung wird zusammengeklemmt. Alle Nutlinien auf dem 8-seitigen Umschlag sind vorgebrochen und einseitig geprägt. Dies führt dazu, daß sich die beiden an einer Nutlinie anschließenden Blätter in einer bevorzugten Orientierung zusammenfalten.
