Abstract

The method involves cutting an opening (11) in a connection bar (5) at the level of an orifice to be punched, where the bar made of insulating material is connected to inner and outer metal portions (2, 3) of a section (1) by setting. A punching matrix (13) is introduced into a space (8) enclosed by the opening. The orifice is punched using the matrix, and the matrix is withdrawn from the opening. The opening is formed such that longitudinal edges (12) of the opening are close to end edges (6', 7') of ribs (6, 7) of the metal portions, and the ribs form a punching anvil for the bar. An independent claim is also included for a sash frame.
