Das Bügelbrett kann während des Aufbaus mit geringem Kraftaufwand und ohne Verkanten angehoben werden. Während des Abbaus senkt sich das Bügelbrett in einer kontrollierten Bewegung ab. Unkontrollierte Kräfte oder Bewegungen können nicht mehr auftreten. Das Bügelbrett ist dabei schwenkbar an einem Schlitten befestigt, der in zwei Schienen an der feststehenden Säule gelagert ist. Wenn das Brett nicht parallel zum Boden geführt wird, könnte es zum Verkanten in diesen Schienen kommen. Um dies sicherzustellen, befinden sich entlang beider Schienen je eine Zahnstange, wobei am Schlitten sich zwei durch eine Welle drehfest verbundene Zahnräder befinden, die in diese Zahnstangen eingreifen. So werden Relativbewegungen zwischen rechter und linker Seite des Bügelbretts und damit ein Verkanten unterbunden. Ein unkontrolliertes Herabfallen des Bügelbretts wird dadurch verhindert, dass die Zahnradwelle über ein Dämpferelement gelagert ist, welches nur in der Abwärtsbewegung wirksam ist. Der Kabelbaum für das Bügelbrett ist in einem Kunststoffkanal geführt. Die elektrische Isolierung nach Norm wird durch eine entsprechende Wandstärke dieses Kanals erreicht, wobei ein Abwickeln des Kabels hinter der Schiene erreicht wird. Dabei ist an dem Schlitten eine Welle gelagert, an dessen freien Enden je ein drehfestes Zahnrad an der Welle angeordnet ist. An den Schienen ist je eine Zahnstange in der Profilierung der Schiene angeordnet, in die die Zähne des jeweiligen Zahnrades der Welle greifen. Diese Anordnung stellt das verkantungsfreie Anheben und Senken der rückwärtigen Stirnkante des Bügelbretts an der Säule sicher. Um insbesondere ein kontrolliertes Absenken der Bügelbrettfläche an der Säule zu ermöglichen, wirkt mit der Welle ein Rotationsdämpfer zusammen. Der Schlitten selbst, der insbesondere an der rückwärtigen Stirnkante der Bügelbrettfläche angeordnet ist, besteht hierbei aus einem U-förmigen Gestell, dessen Basis eine Aufnahmeachse für den Stirnkantenbereich der Bügelbrettfläche bildet. Zwischen den Schenkeln des U-förmigen Gestells ist die Welle mit den daran drehfest befestigten Zahnrädern gelagert. Um hier die Schlittenführung bereit zu stellen, die hier die formschlüssige Schiebeverbindung zwischen Säule und Bügelbrettfläche bereitstellt, sind jeweils an den freien Enden der Schenkel des U-förmigen Gestells Nutsteine angeordnet, die mit einprofilierten Nuten in den Schienen an der Säule zusammenwirken.
