  • and wherein the locking means comprises an equally trapezoidal groove engaging spring which also transitions into a roughly semicircular projection directed towards the base surface for accommodation in said cavity, the semicircular projection joining a recess into which the lip intervenes.

A building panel, here: Floor panel, the type mentioned is from the EP 1585876 B1 the applicant known. The floor panels made according to the state of the art have proven themselves on the market well. The construction of the known floor panels ensures an unobstructed displacement in moisture-related dimensional changes in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal side of the floor panel.

It will set the tasks,
  1. a) facilitate the locking process of the two similar channels and
  2. b) to reduce the displaceability of the panels to each other along their longitudinal sides and at the same time to reduce the stresses in the connection area.

This object is achieved by a generic building panel according to the invention, in which
  • the inner wall of the lip on the one hand to a trough facing and adjoining the free surface of the lip, rounded sliding surface and on the other hand reaches up to a trough edge,
  • the trough edge delimits the region of the trough closest to the base surface, from which the trough rises steadily from the trough edge to the rounded step,
  • and in which building panel after insertion of the spring into the groove, the projection is housed in the trough such that a zero-approaching clearance is established between the projection and a transition of the inner wall to the sliding surface or a linear contact is formed.

Thus, the technical effect is achieved that the locking process of two similar panels is facilitated and a reduction of the displaceability of the panels to each other along their longitudinal sides is achieved while reducing the internal stresses in the connection area.

In the following text, the term "building panel" is replaced by "floor panel"; However, the invention should also relate to wall or ceiling panels or furniture walls. As a floor panel is here understood a plate-shaped structure, which is characterized by a longitudinal side and a narrow side. The term "rounded sliding surface" can be understood as meaning a cylindrical sliding surface, but also a deviating geometric shape, for example a parabolic or elliptical shape.

The floor panels according to the invention may be made of wood, wood-based material, plastic or metal, in a solid, ie single-layered or multi-layered design. In addition, the floor panels can be made of solid wood or of so-called HDF laminate (high density fiberboard) or of MDF laminate (medium density fiberboard) or of other wood-based materials, including wood-material-plastic combinations.

The invention is particularly directed to versions made of wood. Hardwood floors are generally durable and resilient. Decisive feature of a wooden floor is the ability to absorb moisture and release it and as a result swell and dwindle. The wood material provides many positive features: air ionization, microclimate control indoors, protection against electrostatic charging and dusting. His antiallergic effect is known.

The inner wall of the lip may be arranged perpendicularly or obliquely relative to the base surface. Preferably, however, an oblique arrangement of the inner wall is selected, in which the inner wall is at an acute angle to a plane perpendicular to the base plane or at an obtuse angle (Complementwinkel) to the base surface.

The inner wall opposite gradation to the trough can be inside or outside a projection of the lateral groove on the base surface.

The slight play between the projection and the transition of the inner wall to the sliding surface basically occurs in a solid version of the floor panels made of solid wood. This is due to the fact that the running in the longitudinal direction of the floor panel wood fibers are subject to the greatest swelling in moisture. The game may have a value between 0.01 mm and 0.20 mm, preferably between 0.12 and 0.15 mm with a panel thickness of 14 mm.

In contrast, the linear contact - instead of the game - occurs in multi-layer, in the present case three-layer floor panels, because the dimensional increase is not the same, but different for all three layers. The summary measure increase in the case of moisture and temperature-related volume changes, the size of the massive floor panels is smaller. This refers to the earlier documents EP 1 585 876 B1 and DE 203 21 445 U1 the applicant, the disclosure of which is to be fully incorporated into the present invention.

The wood fibers of the upper and lower layers (wear layer and ground layer) are basically parallel, whereas those of the middle layer (core layer) are perpendicular to the longitudinal side of the floor panel. As a result, the swelling of the upper and lower layers occurs perpendicular to the longitudinal side, both in the plane of the plate and perpendicular to the plane of the plate.

The swelling of the core layer occurs perpendicular to the longitudinal side, but in a direction perpendicular to the base plane and parallel to the longitudinal side in the plane of the plate. The latter source direction has practically no influence on dimensional changes of the panel connection. The elongated fiber arrangement of the core layer with respect to the source direction of the useful and bottom layers effectively inhibits the swelling force of these two layers.

The shape of the lip cross-section is selected so that the height dimension of the lip, measured from the base surface, approximately corresponds to a height at which a transition of the gradation is to the groove flank.

The trough may be flat and / or arcuate. Preferably, the trough is divided into two part-circular regions, of which the area close to the inner wall has a radius which is equal to a radius of the sliding surface. The other area of the trough has a radius that exceeds the value of the other radii.

It is particularly advantageous that the contact surface of the projection with the trough or the transition point of the inner wall is limited to the sliding surface to the said linear contact. As a result, the mobility of the floor panels is significantly improved both during and after their installation.

It is advantageous that the stresses normally occurring at least on the long sides of the new panel construction and the possible concave bulges on the wear layer in the region of the abutting surfaces can be avoided or greatly limited.

Fig. 1 zeigt ein rechteckiges Fußbodenpaneel 100, 100' bzw. Fig. 1 shows a rectangular floor panel 100, 100 'and 200, 200' in a schematic plan view of its visible surface 11. The floor panel 100, 100 'or 200, 200' has two mutually parallel side surfaces 1.1, 2.1 and two perpendicular to the side surface 1.1, 2.1 lying side surfaces 1.2, 2.2, wherein the side surfaces 1.1, 2.1 are arranged on the longitudinal sides and the remaining side surfaces 1.2, 2.2 on the narrow sides of the floor panel.

The details of the side surfaces 1.2, 2.2; 1.2, 2.2 are the Fig. 1 due to their schematic representation not removable. They will be dealt with by further figures of the present description. So includes the Fig. 1 two mutually different embodiments of the floor panels. The differences between the embodiments only affect the longitudinal sides of the floor panels.

The floor panel 100, 100 'is in FIGS. 2, 3 and 4 shown in more detail. Thus, the lying on the longitudinal sides side surfaces 1.1, 2.1 locking means 9; 19 on, the one in Fig. 4 form illustrated tongue and groove connection 40.

According to Fig. 2 the floor panel 100, 100 'consists of three layers, namely a lower bottom layer 7, an upper wear layer 5 with the visible surface 11 and a middle core layer 3. Furthermore, the shows Fig.2 a schematic arrangement of swelling directions QR1, QR2, QR3 and QR4.

The wood fiber of useful and soil layer 5; 7 run parallel to the longitudinal side of the floor panel (in Fig. 2 not visible). The source direction QR1 is indicated by arrows perpendicular to the longitudinal side. The source direction QR2 show directed perpendicular to the visual or base area arrows.

The core layer 3 schematically shows wood fibers 23 extending perpendicularly to the longitudinal side. The source direction perpendicular to the longitudinal side and the base surface 12 is shown by QR3. The obliquely extending source direction QR4 is indicated by obliquely shown arrows. The source direction QR4 corresponds to the course of the long side, ie parallel to the plate plane and is in Fig. 2 designated as point P.

The side surface 2.1 comprises, starting from the visible surface 11, an abutment surface 28.1, a groove 13 and a lower leg 4 protruding beyond the abutment surface 28.1 and ending with an upwardly pointing lip 8.

On the leg 4, a trough 10 can be seen, which connects on the one hand to an inner wall 21 of the lip 8 and on the other hand to a gently rounded step 17, which in turn merges into a lower, oblique groove flank 25 of the groove 13. A free, upper surface 44 of the lip 8 passes over a circular sliding surface 20 in the said inner wall 21 on. An upper, second groove flank 15 of the groove 13 lies parallel to the visible surface 11. The groove 13 thus has the shape of an orthogonal trapezium and therefore tapers in the direction of its groove bottom 14.

The locking means 19 comprises a trapezoidal spring 24 projecting beyond an abutment surface 28. 2, which in turn continues into a downward-pointing, semicircular projection 26. In assembled condition according to Fig. 4 However, the projection 26 is supported at a transition 18 of the inner wall 21 to the sliding surface 20 from such that there is a linear contact 41 is formed, which is formed in Fig. 4 can be seen as a point.

The impact surface 28.1 (see. Fig. 3 ) ends with a lower chamfer 45 in the region of the wear layer 5. The chamfer 45 leads to a rounding 46, which in turn adjoins the upper groove flank 15.

The Fig. 5 shows a floor panel 200 and 200 'in the region of its side surface 2.1, which differs from the first embodiment according to Figure 3 differs by arranging the gradation 17. The gradation 17 is placed in front of a plane E1, which is defined as a continuation of the impact surface 28.1 down. Furthermore, the Fig. 5 can be seen that the inner wall 21 is arranged obliquely opposite the base surface 12.

Der Winkel β beträgt in vorliegendem Fall 18°.According to Fig. 6 the inner wall 21 is at an acute angle β to a plane E2, which is defined by the transition 18 of the sliding surface 20 to the inner wall 21 and parallel arrangement to the already described plane E1. The angle β is in the present case 18 °.

According to Fig. 6 For example, the lip 8 has a height dimension H1 which corresponds approximately to a height H2 on which a transition 31 of the step 17 to the groove flank 25 is arranged. Furthermore, the Fig. 6 to take a chamfer 22 or bevel on the abutment surface 28.1, which adjoins the upper groove flank 15.

The Fig. 7 shows the divided into two part-circular areas L1, L2 trough 10. The area L1 has a radius R2 which corresponds to a radius R1 of the sliding surface 20 and is smaller than a radius R3 of the larger region L2.

Fig. 7) stetig bis zur Abstufung 17 ansteigt. The assembled floor panels 200, 200 'are in Fig. 8a shown. The lip 8 is housed within a recess 27 of the Gegenpaneels, wherein the lower projection 26 of the spring 24 similar to the embodiment according to Fig. 4 forms with the trough 10, the game 29 and at the transition 18 of the inner wall 21 to the sliding surface 20, the linear contact 41. Furthermore, in a lowermost region 43 of the trough 10, a trough edge 42 is visible as a point. In particular, it is visible that the trough 10 despite partially circular areas L1, L2 (see. Fig. 7 ) steadily increases until gradation 17.

In Fig. 8b are solid floor panels 300, 300 'made of wood before and after the introduction of the spring 24 in the groove 13. With a dash-dotted line, the floor panel 300 is shown in its inclined position, in which the spring 24 slides with its lower beveled edge 47 over the gently rounded step 17. In this position, the lower projection 26 is still supported on an edge 48, which is formed by the upper surface 44 of the lip 8 and the sliding surface 20. If the spring 24 pushed deeper into the groove 13, and the round projection 26 slides over the sliding surface 20 and decreases in the direction of trough 10 in such a way until there the game play 29 is created. However, there is also another clearance 30 between the projection 26 and the transition 18 of the sliding surface 20 to the inner wall 21. The clearance 30 has a maximum value of 0.14 mm with a panel thickness of 14 mm.

The Fig. 9 shows the already described floor panel 100 or 100 '(also applies to the floor panel 200, 200') in section BB according to Fig. 1 , The three-layer floor panel 100 (100 ') has a further locking means 6 (left side of the figure) in the form of a arranged on the side surface 1.2, trapezoidal head piece 48 and an adjacent to the head piece 48, groove-shaped recess 49 which is bounded by a lip 51.

As the Fig. 10 shows, the head piece 48 has a plane-parallel to the base surface 12 extending trapezoidal base surface 35 and two adjoining the trapezoidal base surface, oblique side walls 36, 56. The outer side wall 36 of the head piece 48 merges into a step 38.2 of an abutment surface 64.2. The recess 49 has a perpendicular to the base surface 12 directed edge 65, which lies opposite the side wall 56 of the head piece 48.

Außerdem ist das Kopfstück 48 in seinem unterstem Bereich zwecks Erleichterung der Einführung in eine Nut 34 des Gegenpaneels beidseitig abgeschrägt (nicht dargestellt).Accordingly, the recess 49 has the shape of an orthogonal trapezoid whose bottom 67 is wider than a clear width 66 of the recess 49. In addition, the head piece 48 is chamfered on both sides (not shown) in its lowermost region in order to facilitate insertion into a groove 34 of the counter panel ).

The second side surface 2.2 (see right side of FIG Fig. 9 ) comprises a locking means 16 compatible with the locking means 6, which carries a locking arm 33 projecting over an abutment surface 64.1 of the floor panel, which terminates in the trapezoidal lip 51 projecting upwards.

The open groove 34 is milled out on the locking arm 33. The groove 34 has a groove bottom 39 arranged parallel to a base surface 12 of the floor panel and two groove flanks 52.1, 52.2 inclined in such a way that the groove 34 tapers upwards. This is followed by the groove flank 52.1 a gradation 38.1 of the abutting surface 64.1. The groove 34 is formed as a nearly isosceles trapezoid.

The two gradations 38.1, 38.2 are parallel to the base surface 12 of the floor panel and are slightly offset by the fact that the height dimension of the abutment surface 64.1 projects slightly beyond the height dimension of the abutment surface 64.2.

In zusammengefügtem Zustand (vgl. In assembled state (cf. Fig. 11 ) is a positive tongue and groove connection 50 (dovetail connection) is formed, in which the groove flanks 52.1, 52.2 press against the side walls 36, 56 of the head piece 48. However, between the two gradations 38.1, 38.2 a game 37 and between the trapezoidal base surface 35 and the groove bottom 39 another game 60th

The size of the game 37 as well as the second game 60 approximates to zero as the wood material swells.

The task of the two games 37 and 60 is to compensate for the dimensional changes of the laid floor panels. The gradations 38.1, 38.2 stabilize the resulting dovetail connection 32 perpendicular to the visible surface 11 and secure the abutment surfaces against the destructive pressure with moisture-related dimensional changes of the wood-based material. The dimensions of the game 37 and the game 60 are small and are in the present case between 0.1 mm and 0.2 mm.

The Fig. 12 shows a mounting of the massive floor panels 300, 300 'on the narrow side. When pivoting down of the floor panel 300 'about a pivot axis X, the head piece 48 is pressed into the groove 34 of the Gegenpaneels until it to form-fitting tongue and groove connection 50 (as in Fig. 11 ) comes. The pivot axis X extends parallel to the longitudinal side of the floor panels and is defined by their cooperating parts, namely by the lower semicircular projection 26 of a floor panel and the sliding surface 20 of the Gegenpaneels. The pivot axis X does not necessarily represent a straight line in the geometric Meaning, it can also be referred to as Schwenkachsenbereich.
