Definitions
- the present invention relates to a resealable container lid, containers, in particular beverage cans, containing the resealable container lid, method for producing such containers and containers and the use of the container lid according to the invention.
- Disposable containers for liquids have been used for a long time in a wide variety of shapes and sizes. This is particularly often the case with beverage cans made of light metal, in which the can lid is equipped with a so-called clip closure.
- the clip closure by pressing this clip closure, the cover piece forming the dispensing opening is pressed in the direction of the can interior and remains captively connected to the can lid.
- this closure is removed together with the area forming the dispensing opening or cover piece when the flip-top closure is actuated.
- Such closure systems can be found for example in the WO 97/030902 . DE 100 18 685 C2 . US 4,148,410 . EP 564 725 A1 .
- a first approach is based on can ends, which contain a discharge opening from the outset. Suggestions that go in this direction can be found eg in the WO 2007/039367 A1 . WO 2008/054636 A2 . DE 20 2005 019 224 U1 . US 3,952,911 and DE 601 01 995 T2 ,
- such containers are regularly not nearly as dense as, for example, over a longer period of time, such as beverage cans, which are made of a can body and a can lid, which has no predetermined dispensing opening.
- the production of such beverage containers with a predetermined discharge opening usually very material and labor intensive and costly, if you want to achieve a high degree of tightness, especially after resealing.
- reclosable systems are obtained in that after the first opening operation the lid or part of the lid is provided with an additional cover.
- Such systems are eg in the DE 100 18 685 C2 and DE 92 11 883 U1 disclosed.
- rotatably mounted on the can lid partial covers are known.
- a planar element can be pivoted about a pivot point on the lid surface via the dispensing opening. From a comparable locking mechanism is in the WO 2005/056400 A1 Made use of.
- a resealable can lid is known in which the dispensing opening is initially closed with a removable film that is integral with the can end. After removing this film, a cap connected to the can lid via a living hinge can be inserted flush with the dispensing opening.
- the in the WO 99/67150 A1 described closure variant is suitable for beverage cover made of plastic materials.
- the US 4,887,712 deals with a beverage can, whose discharge opening can be generated via a clip closure.
- the outlet opening forming surface of the can lid is in this case pressed in the direction of the can interior and is captively connected to the can lid.
- the locking bracket rotatably mounted about an attachment point, the locking lug opposite an indentation, which corresponds to the contour of the dispensing opening and can be introduced after rotation of the closure bracket in this purpose for the purpose of closing.
- a sufficient degree of tightness, in particular gas tightness, is can not be obtained with this embodiment. That in the GB 2 379 917 A described closure system essentially corresponds to the US 4,887,712 ,
- a can lid protrudes with a rotatably mounted on the cover wall tear tab.
- This rotatably mounted pull tab has a closure element, which is present in the closed position above the opened dispensing opening and can engage in it in a locking manner.
- the tear tab is integrally formed with the closure element of sheet metal.
- the WO 2004/056667 A1 discloses a beverage can closure in which the grip tab is designed to reseal the dispensing opening resulting from the breaking of a frangible line. Also in this embodiment, the grip tab is pivotally mounted vertically rotatable about an axis disposed in the cover and the closure means is adapted in shape and size of the discharge opening to ensure a reasonably tight closure.
- a resealable can lid closure in which can be pushed and clamped on a pivotable about an attachment point tensile or tear tab made of metal, a plastic sleeve.
- the peripheral edges of this plugged sleeve are designed such that the dispensing opening can be completely covered. So that the rotatably mounted pull tab with the plastic sleeve attached thereto remains above the dispensing opening, a groove is provided on the outer peripheral edge of the tab, which engages in a latching manner in the peripheral beading area of the can lid. In this way, although the position of the pull tab is fixed over the discharge opening, a particularly high degree of tightness is not associated with this.
- reclosable cover variants known from the prior art are still always associated with disadvantages and leave desires open, for example with regard to the tightness of carbonated beverages.
- the previously known from the prior art resealable lid systems are not usually suitable to with sufficient reliability in mass production to withstand the pasteurization, which many drinks are subjected to regular. If the dispensing or capping system does not allow for pasteurization which generally has temperatures in excess of 70 ° C and internal pressures of up to 7 bar, one is forced to resort to preservatives.
- the present invention therefore an object of the invention to provide a resealable container lid, which is no longer subject to the disadvantages of the prior art and in particular allows a simple and reliable production in mass production and leads to beverage containers, where after first opening and reclosing the drink still over a longer period of time its original quality and, in carbonated drinks, the original concentration of dissolved carbon dioxide retains.
- a reclosable container lid comprising a lid surface having a top and a bottom and with peripheral edge and with an area for a dispensing opening, bounded by at least one fully or partially circumferential weakening profile, a rotatably attached via a fastening means on the lid surface lever tab for at least partially opening the area to form the dispensing opening having a first end portion and an opposite second end portion, wherein the first end portion in the open position is at least partially overlapped with a portion of the area for the dispensing opening, and wherein the second end portion is in relation to the first end region beyond the attachment means, the lever tab having at or adjacent to the second end region a closure module having a closure collar or frame disposed at the top of the Lid surface can be applied or rests and the output opening in the closed position when applied to the top of the lid surface, in particular sealing, rotates, and, in particular bordered by the closure collar, a resealable opening closure comprises.
- orientation of the lever tab on the cover surface to be understood in which the lever tab can be actuated to release the area for the discharge opening.

The reclosable cover variants known from the prior art are still always associated with disadvantages and leave desires open, for example with regard to the tightness of carbonated beverages. Also, the previously known from the prior art resealable lid systems are not usually suitable to with sufficient reliability in mass production to withstand the pasteurization, which many drinks are subjected to regular. If the dispensing or capping system does not allow for pasteurization which generally has temperatures in excess of 70 ° C and internal pressures of up to 7 bar, one is forced to resort to preservatives.
As far as the known from the prior art systems allow pasteurization at all, without the proposed resealable closure system is affected, this often succeeds only by having to use plastic components on the inside of the can lid. Here, however, one goes into the risk that components of the plastic material used in dissolved form get into the pasteurized beverage.
The present invention therefore an object of the invention to provide a resealable container lid, which is no longer subject to the disadvantages of the prior art and in particular allows a simple and reliable production in mass production and leads to beverage containers, where after first opening and reclosing the drink still over a longer period of time its original quality and, in carbonated drinks, the original concentration of dissolved carbon dioxide retains.
Accordingly, a reclosable container lid has been found, comprising a lid surface having a top and a bottom and with peripheral edge and with an area for a dispensing opening, bounded by at least one fully or partially circumferential weakening profile, a rotatably attached via a fastening means on the lid surface lever tab for at least partially opening the area to form the dispensing opening having a first end portion and an opposite second end portion, wherein the first end portion in the open position is at least partially overlapped with a portion of the area for the dispensing opening, and wherein the second end portion is in relation to the first end region beyond the attachment means, the lever tab having at or adjacent to the second end region a closure module having a closure collar or frame disposed at the top of the Lid surface can be applied or rests and the output opening in the closed position when applied to the top of the lid surface, in particular sealing, rotates, and, in particular bordered by the closure collar, a resealable opening closure comprises.
Under Öffnerstellung in the context of the present invention, that orientation of the lever tab on the cover surface to be understood, in which the lever tab can be actuated to release the area for the discharge opening. The closure position in the sense of the present invention is understood to mean that orientation of the lever tab in which the closure module of the lever tab is present above the dispensing opening and can be connected or in particular connected to form a resealable closure.
Depending on the type of container, the lid surface can be made of plastic, metal or cardboard or comprise one or more of these materials. The same applies to the container body / container. Cover surface according to the present invention comprises a flat structure, for example a metal and / or plastic layer. Of course, the lid surface of the container lid according to the invention may also be a multi-layered structure, for example comprising a metallic lid surface which has at least one plastic foil as a protective layer on the underside.
The container lid according to the invention may be an integral part or a separate component of a container. In the latter case, the container lid and container body or container can be connected in a fluid-tight manner to one skilled in the art, for example by means of gluing or pressing, for example by means of a fold. For example, the peripheral edge of the lid surface may also include a flange for connection to the container body. In the case lid according to the invention, in a preferred embodiment, the peripheral edge may have an extension which extends axially away from the upper side of the lid surface. In this case, it may be provided in an advantageous embodiment that the axial extension of the edge is formed such that the extent of expansion is greater than the extent of expansion of the lever tab in the axial extent with respect to the cover surface in the Öffnerstellung when the area for the Discharge opening is still intact. In particular, the latter embodiment of a container lid according to the invention makes it possible to easily stack containers that are equipped with such container lids on each other.
A container body or container for the purposes of the present invention includes constructions with as well as without bottom element. This takes into account the fact that e.g. Metal beverage cans are often made in two parts or three parts. That in the case of a two-part container, this container is connected to a container lid from a container body which already has a, in particular integral, bottom element. In a three-piece container this is made of a bottom element, a container wall and a container lid.
The reclosable container lids of the present invention can be used for a variety of container types. By way of example, beverage cans for e.g. carbonated drinks, milk cartons, (liquid) yoghurt containers or packaging for fruit juices. In addition to containers for drinks, the container lid according to the invention can of course also be used for containers in which liquid or powdered foods such as oil, vinegar or flour are offered. Also, the container lid according to the invention for such containers into consideration, with which means for personal hygiene such as shampoos and shower gels are available on the market.
The shape and size of the area for the discharge opening in the lid surface can vary within wide ranges and usually depends on the particular type of use of the container with which the lid according to the invention is provided. In one embodiment, it may be provided that the area for the dispensing opening is spaced from the fastening means and in particular adjacent to the edge of the lid surface. The area for the dispensing opening is defined in an expedient embodiment by a completely or partially circumferential weakening profile. An advantage of the container lids according to the invention is that as long as the area for the discharge opening has remained intact, a passage of liquid through the container lid is made impossible with the highest level of security. In the case of beverage cans in particular, such a fluid-tight area for the dispensing opening is often also called score plate, and the weakening profile limiting or defining this area is also called score profile.
Fastening means for such lever tabs on the lid surface, as they can be used with the container lid according to the invention, are generally known. As far as its opening mechanism is concerned, the lever tab of the container lid according to the invention is also referred to in the prior art as a clip closure. In particular in the opener position, the first end region of the lever tab, in many cases also referred to as a latching nose, overlaps with a section of the area of the dispensing opening. By lifting the second end portion of the lever tab is applied by means of leverage over the first end region or via the detent force on a section of the area of the dispensing opening, resulting in that the attenuation profile yields to or adjacent to the force application point and the area of the cover surface, the previously Covered output port, can be pivoted in the direction of the container interior, releasing the discharge opening. The fastening means is preferably a rivet and is preferably in the center of the lid surface. In particular, depending on the size of the lid surface, especially relative to the size of the dispensing opening, the fastening means can also be attached to a different location of the lid surface.
The second end region of the lever tab comprises a closure module which is provided with a resealable opening closure, for example in the form of a flap or cover flap. This flap can be connected to the closure module, in particular the closure collar, for example via a hinge or a film hinge. In one embodiment, the resealable opening closure preferably has, on its side facing the upper side of the cover surface, a reversible first locking unit which, in interaction with a second locking unit corresponding thereto, provides a tight and reversibly operable opening closure on the locking collar. This may be, for example, a tongue and groove connection system. The closure collar according to the present invention comprises both a receiving element for the resealable opening closure and the extension of the closure module to the first end region, for example, to the connection to the first end of the holding element.
In a preferred embodiment, it is provided that the closure module, in particular the closure collar, on the side facing the upper side of the lid surface has at least one third locking device, which preferably corresponds substantially to the contour of the area for the dispensing opening, so that by actuating the locking device the closure module, in particular irreversibly connected or connected to the dispensing opening, wherein preferably the closure collar, partially or completely, bears under pretension on the upper side of the lid surface. The third locking device for preferably irreversible attachment of the closure module to the dispensing opening is advantageously a, in particular circumferential, ring snap connection or a snap hook snap connection. Such locking device systems are known from the prior art. As a rule, these systems can not be removed again after they have been locked.
In a particularly expedient embodiment, it is provided that the weakening profile surrounds the area for the dispensing opening except for a distance area, in particular adjacent to the first end area in the opener position and laterally offset to the line formed by the fastening means and the first end portion of the lever tab in the Öffnerstellung , In many cases, it has proven to be advantageous if, after the first break-up of the weakening profile, the area for the dispensing opening is not completely released, but remains connected to the lid area via the said spacing area. In particular, when closed container with the container lid according to the invention are closed, care should be taken that the area for the discharge opening does not fall into the beverage as a separate component after actuation of the lever tab. In this case, it has proven to be advantageous if this distance range, which prevents the falling-in of the separated area for the dispensing opening, is adjacent to the point at which the first end area or the detent nose of the lever tab attaches for the purpose of initial destruction of the weakening profile.
In particular, when using cover surfaces made of metal, for example light metal, one works regularly on or bulges in the lid surface for the purpose of stiffening the lid structure. Such structures are also known to the person skilled in the art as so-called beads and can be used e.g. be formed straight or curved.
In particular, such container lid according to the invention have proved to be expedient in which, in particular adjacent to the area for the discharge opening, a partially or completely circumferential bead is present on the top of the lid surface. This bead is preferably a bulge extending axially upwards from the upper side of the cover surface.
According to a further embodiment of a container lid according to the invention it is provided that the closure collar has at least one, in particular circumferential, seal, which is on the top of the lid surface, in particular adjacent to the dispensing opening, can be applied or applied. It is particularly advantageous if the seal with the particular peripheral bead sealingly interacts or is sealingly engageable.
In an expedient embodiment, the container lid according to the invention further comprises at least one indentation on the top of the lid surface, which has an at least partial overlap with the second end region thereof in the Öffnerstellung the lever tab and the laterally offset in particular in the open position by the second end portion and the Fastener formed line is arranged. The at least one indentation in the top surface serves to facilitate gripping under the second end portion of the lever tab, so as to effectively guide the lever tab upward in the region of the second end region, whereby the first end portion, i. the catch is pressed against the overlapping area of the discharge opening. If the second end portion of the lever tab is particularly close to the lid edge, which often extends axially upwardly relative to the lid surface away from the top of the lid surface, little space is left regularly to lift the second end portion of the lever tab. This handling deficit is offset by the provision of said recesses in the lid surface, which are overlapped with the second end portion of the lever tab. In this case, indentations, preferably in a mirror-inverted arrangement, are particularly advantageously applied to different sides of a line which extends from the second end region to the first end region in the opening position. In this embodiment, the opening process made particularly favorable. It has also been found to be particularly advantageous alternatively or in particular additionally to provide finger grip recesses, in particular rounded, openings in the second end region of the lever lug, preferably in a region in which the lever lug with the indentations in the cover surface described above are in the opener position overlaps. By doing so, we take the intervention, i. facilitates the operation of the lever tab again.
Particular preference is given to those embodiments of the container lid according to the invention, in which the lever tab has a holding element, in particular a holding tongue made of metal, via which or the lever tab, in particular the first end portion of the lever tab, is fastened by means of the fastening means on the lid surface. The retaining element is regularly in the plane of the lever tab or the locking collar of the lever tab. It may preferably be present, at least in part, during the opening process in a plane which differs from that in which the closure collar is present. While the first end of the retaining element generally faces or is in contact with the first end region of the lever tongue, it lies against the opposite second end of the lever member usually the attachment point for the fastener, with which the lever tab is attached to the lid surface.
If it is intended to manufacture the closure collar made of plastic, it has proven to be particularly pragmatic to inject the end region of the lever lug, preferably the closure collar in the region of this first end region, against the holding element, in particular the holding tongue. Here, that end portion of the holding element, in particular the holding tongue, also called the first end of the holding element, which faces the end portion at which the fastening means connects the holding element, in particular the retaining tongue with the lid surface, also called the second end of the holding element, encapsulated with plastic material. The injection molding of metal components or components thereof by means of injection molding is known in the art.

According to the invention, a sealing construction is further provided comprising an elastic sealing body and, in particular adjacent to this elastic sealing body, a sealing pad with a facing in the direction of the elastic sealing body Beading with a ridge and shoulders extending therefrom in opposite directions, the elastic seal body, facing the bead, over a first and spaced therefrom a second wedge-shaped elastic web which tapers towards the bead and which respectively face each other at opposite bead shoulders extending from the ridge of the bead, abutment or be brought, and also via a first Dichtungswandung, spaced from the first elastic web opposite to the direction of the second web and a second Dichtungswandung, spaced from the second elastic web opposite to the direction the first ridge, each spaced farther from the ridge of the ridge than the first and second resilient ridges and abutting the seal pad when the resilient ridges abut the bead shoulders.
The present invention was based on the surprising finding that container closures according to the invention are accessible, which for the first time permit a reliable and tight reclosing of container systems provided with so-called clip closures, as known from beverage cans. Of particular advantage in connection with the container lids according to the invention is further that, although non-metallic components can be used for their preparation, for example, plastics, which in the container provided with this container lid filled fluid neither during the filling process, nor during an optional pasteurization -, sterilization or other preservation or treatment step, and is not exposed to the subsequent storage or transportation of such plastic materials. In particular, under the usual pasteurization conditions, where temperatures in the range of 50 to 70 ° C and pressures up to 7 bar are used, it is indicated for food hygiene reasons, to any contact with plastic parts that are not adapted to such rigid conditions without. Another advantage associated with the container lids according to the invention represents the great process variability in the completion of fluid-filled containers according to the invention. It is even conceivable that the lever lobes only after the attachment of the container lid according to the invention to the container body filled with fluid on the surface the lid is attached. It has also proven to be particularly practical that the containers obtainable with the container lids according to the invention can readily be set up in such a way that they can be stacked one above the other, that is to say in direct contact with one another. A marketing advantage not negligible advantage is also due to the fact that the resealable opening closure of the container lid according to the invention can be provided in a particularly simple manner with logos or brand names. This opening closure can be made in a separate manufacturing step and then inserted into the lever tab to form the closure module.
