Definitions
- the invention relates to a panel for forming a covering, in particular floor covering, with further similar panels, with a support plate and in each case one integrally formed with the support plate first side edge and second side edge, wherein the first side edge and the second side edge disposed on opposite sides of the support plate and are formed correspondingly with each other so as to be latched to first and second side edges of similar panels in a direction substantially perpendicular to the support plate on the one hand and in a direction substantially parallel to the support plate and perpendicular to the connected side edges, the first side edge and the second side edge are formed so as to be connected to each other with first and second side edges of similar panels by a substantially perpendicular to the support plate movement, wherein the first side edge e a locking lug and the second side edge comprises a locking lug, wherein the locking lip along the entire first side edge and the locking lug along the entire second side edge to the support plate are connected and wherein the locking lip and the locking lug are formed so as to a protrusion in interconnected side
- Panels of this type are already known in practice in various embodiments. Corresponding panels become common used to form a floor, ceiling or wall covering.
- the individual panels can be assembled by a mechanical lock on the circumferentially provided side edges with the side edges of similar panels to a corresponding covering.
- the panels are typically locked together at the side edges in two different directions. One of these directions is in the plane of the panels and perpendicular to the interconnected side edges. The other direction is aligned perpendicular to the interconnected panels.
- Such panels can be bonded to a sheet without the use of an adhesive.
- the panels of the type mentioned have a carrier plate, which is usually made of a wood material.
- a carrier plate which is usually made of a wood material.
- MDF Medium-density fibreboard
- HDF high-density fibreboard
- OSB Oriented Strained Boards
- the panel is called parquet panels, in which the top, ie the visible side, and if necessary, the bottom of the support plate itself is formed.
- the support plate is made of a plastic or a plastic / wood-material mixture.
- the known panels are also referred to as push-lock panels.
- push-lock panels In the case of floor panels, such panel types are characterized in that the locking of two side edges by placing a side edge of a new panel from above on the adjacent, corresponding side edge of a resting on the ground panel and pushing down the new panel in the direction of the ground. In the manner described panels can be laid very easily and quickly together. Panels of this kind are from the EP 1 518 032 B1 known.
- panels can also have so-called snap-profiles for nesting two adjacent arranged in a plane panels in a direction perpendicular to the side edges to be joined.
- snap-profiles for nesting two adjacent arranged in a plane panels in a direction perpendicular to the side edges to be joined.
- a groove element of a side edge is widened by a spring element of the adjacent side edge, so that the spring element can penetrate into the groove element. Then the groove member closes again and locked in this way with the spring element.
- Panels of this type are for example in the WO 97/47834 A1 described.
- the carrier plate consists of a solid and rigid material and thus have the side edges formed of the same material have a low flexibility.
- the locking of the side edges by a direction of movement which is substantially perpendicular to the panel is based on the formation of a locking connection between the side edges.
- the present invention Against this background, the present invention, the technical problem underlying a panel of the type mentioned above and to propose a method for producing such a panel, which is less likely to damage the interlocked side edges when connecting the panel with other similar panels.
- the supernatant is understood to mean the region of a connection between a first side edge of a panel and a second side edge of another similar panel in which the locking lip of the first side edge protrudes from the locking edge of the second side edge, and vice versa.
- the locking lip and the locking lug are in this case in a direction which is parallel to the panels or to the support plate and perpendicular to the side edges, against each other. In other words, this is always the case, for example, whenever the locking lip is at least partially disposed on the side of the second side edge of a plane passing through a front end of the locking lug and extending perpendicular to the panel, and vice versa.
- the lengthwise dimension of the supernatant in a direction perpendicular to the joined side edges and parallel to at least one panel, in particular both interconnected panels, is referred to as the width of the supernatant.
- the length dimension in one direction along the interconnected side edges is referred to as the length of the supernatant.
- a first side edge and a second side edge of adjacent panels connected to the first side edge do not form a projection as usual, which has a constant width along the interconnected side edges-except for manufacturing tolerances or the like.
- the supernatant varies rather in its width along the interconnected side edges.
- a section the first side edge is provided, which has a shortened locking lip and thus can be referred to as a shortened section.
- a shortened section may be provided on the second side edge, which has a shortened locking lug.
- a shortened section is determined less by the absolute width of the locking lip or the locking lug than by the fact that the locking lip and / or the locking lug in the shortened portion is relatively shorter than seen outside of the shortened portion.
- the locking lip and / or the locking projection projects less towards the adjacent side edge, in a direction parallel to the corresponding panel.
- the difference in the width of the protrusion between the shortened section and an adjacent remaining section can be small in absolute terms. However, in terms of the width of the supernatant, especially in the shortened section, the width difference is by no means negligible, but in particular noteworthy.
- the load can be reduced to an acceptable level and yet ensure a firm and lasting connection between the two side edges.
- the shortened portions are provided at the corresponding side edge where without a shortening of the locking lip and / or locking lug particularly high stresses of the carrier plate would occur.
- the side edges are, in particular when the panels are formed from a wood material or wood, formed by milling. Then, the sectionally shortening of the connecting lip and / or the connecting nose preferably takes place in that more material is removed in the region of the at least one shortened section than in an unreduced section of the same side edge.
- different shortened sections can also be provided. This means that the locking lip and / or the locking lug in a first shortened Section is shortened more than in a second shortened section.
- the similar panels are preferably provided for connection in a certain relative orientation with each other. This relative orientation is maintained, for example, when the outer ends of the first side edge and the second side edge are arranged in the interconnected state in alignment with each other, so that the panels are provided in alignment with each other. Then, even before connecting the first and second side edges, it is clear how the first side edge interacts with the second side edge, in particular how the width of the projection between the two side edges in the connected state varies along the side edges.
- the first side edge and the second side edge are formed such that the locking lip and the locking lug of interconnected first and second side edges of adjacent panels engage behind one another.
- the locking lip and the locking lug contribute to the locking of the two side edges to be joined together.
- a low stress tuning when connecting the first and second side edges and at the same time a tight and permanent interlock between the side edges of adjacent panels is then particularly effective.
- the locking lip and the locking lug have corresponding locking surfaces, wherein the corresponding locking surfaces are formed for locking the adjacent first and second side edge in a direction perpendicular to the panel.
- the locking surfaces abut each other when the first and second side edges are connected. Precise, local limitation of the maximum stress occurring in connecting the first and second side edges through at least one shortened region may then ensure that damage to the locking surfaces is prevented and the side edges interlock as desired.
- first side edge and the second side edge are designed to produce a latching connection with latching of the locking lip and the locking lug with each other. Then it is particularly desirable to limit the stresses occurring during locking of the locking lip with the locking lug of adjacent first and second side edges by correspondingly shortened sections.
- the locking lip and / or the locking nose are shortened in sections such that the locking lip of a first side edge and the locking lug of a second side edge in the interconnected state of the side edges in shortened section do not form a supernatant.
- the locking lip and the locking lug in the shortened portion in a direction perpendicular to the interconnected side edges and parallel to at least one of the two panels not against each other and therefore do not get in contact with each other when connecting the two side edges.
- a gap is formed between the locking lip and the adjacent locking nose in the case of the interconnected first and second side edges.
- the locking lip immediately adjacent to an outer end of the first side edge and / or the locking lug is shortened immediately adjacent to an outer end of the second side edge. This is useful because local load peaks occur in areas immediately adjacent to at least one outer end of the first and / or second side edge when joining these side edges. By a correspondingly near-shortened portion of the first and / or the second side edge, if necessary, other such shortened sections, a precise local relief of the first and / or second side edge can be achieved.
- the panel may have a third and a fourth correspondingly formed side edge to each other around the third and fourth side edges of similar adjacent panels to be able to lock.
- This locking preferably takes place in that the third side edge of a panel is inserted in an angled position into the fourth side edge of a further panel, whereupon the angled panel is then pivoted in the same plane with the further panel to lock the two adjacent side edges together.
- one also speaks of angling about a third side edge into a fourth side edge of an adjacent panel or of an angle connection.
- a locking of first and second side edges of adjacent panels in a direction substantially perpendicular to the panel is therefore also understood to mean locking movements that are caused by the pivoting of a panel about an axis of rotation is preferably arranged perpendicular to the first and / or second side, is caused.
- the axis of rotation is more preferably located in a connecting region of the third and fourth side edges of adjacent panels to be joined together.
- a locking direction which is substantially perpendicular to the panel is preferably understood to mean any direction in which a panel is connected more or less from top to bottom to another panel by a movement of the panel.
- a panel may be placed so close to an already laid side panel that the panel, when lowered, coincides with the third side edge with the front side panel Panel and can be locked with the first or second side edge with the side panel without having to perform further process steps.
- no displacement of the panel in the direction of the lateral panel to be connected to the first or second side edge is required.
- the locking lip and / or the locking lug is shortened at a plurality of spaced-apart sections.
- a plurality of shortened sections are provided along a first and / or second side edge. In this way, the loads occurring when connecting adjacent panels can be reduced more uniformly over the length of the side edges.
- the locking lip and / or the locking nose is shortened arcuately along the side edge. Then, the locking lip and / or the locking nose extends along the corresponding side edge in the form of an arc.
- the advantages achieved by the at least one shortened section along the first and / or second side edge are particularly pronounced when the panel has a keyway directed downwards from the top side and a locking groove at the first side edge, the second side edge from the bottom side directed above the locking lug having the locking spring and a locking spring adjacent to the fitting groove.
- the key in the connected state with the fitting groove and the locking spring with the locking groove into engagement.
- the loads occurring when connecting adjacent panels can be reduced in addition to the at least one shortened portion by a arranged on the side facing away from the locking groove side of the locking lip elasticity.
- the locking lip receives a higher elasticity, which can be adjusted by the dimensions of the elasticity and, if necessary, characterized in that the elasticity groove is filled or filled with an elastic material.
- a first and a second side edge are formed on opposite sides of a support plate in one piece with this support plate, which are formed corresponding to each other.
- the first and The second side edge correspond to each other in such a way that the first and the second side edge can be connected by a movement which is substantially perpendicular to the connected panels, with first and second side edges of similar panels.
- any movement can be essentially perpendicular to the panel, the direction of which, in addition to a predominantly vertical component, also has a subordinate component parallel to the panel.
- the movement of the panels to join them is fundamentally different from the movement of connecting snap-profiles or angle-profiles.
- the design of the first and the second side edge of the panel namely corresponds in particular to a so-called push-lock profile.
- first and second side edges are locked together so that the panels can not be readily separated from each other in a direction perpendicular to the panels, ie by mutual lifting.
- a separation of the panels is also prevented by a locking of the first side edge with the second side edge in a direction parallel to the panels and perpendicular to the connected side edges.
- the first side edge and / or the second side edge are not worked out uniformly along the corresponding side edge. It is rather aware of sections, the locking lip and / or Locking nose in a direction parallel to the panel and shortened worked out perpendicular to the corresponding side edge. This has the consequence that the locking lip and the locking lug in the connected state with other similar panels along the interconnected side edges do not form a uniform projection.
- the projection between the locking lip and the adjacent locking lug is not as wide as in the at least one adjacent, remaining portion. The difference in width is not merely caused by manufacturing tolerances or other random fluctuations, but deliberately brought about by appropriate measures.
- the locking lip and / or the locking lug By partially shortening the locking lip and / or the locking lug occurring when connecting a panel with other similar panels occurring on the support plate loads can be reduced.
- the loads occurring during the joining along the side edges can be set in a desired manner so that a predetermined maximum value is not exceeded at any point along the first and / or second side edge. Since the locking lip and / or the locking lug is worked out only in sections shortened from the support plate, a firm and permanent connection between the first side edge and the second side edge of the interconnected panels can still be ensured.
- the similar panels are preferably provided for connection in a certain relative orientation with each other. This relative alignment is maintained, for example, when the outer ends of the first side edge and the second side edge are arranged in the interconnected state in alignment with each other, so that the two interconnected panels are aligned with each other. It is then determined, prior to joining first and second side edges, how the first side edge cooperates with the second side edge, in particular how the width of the projection between the two side edges in the interconnected state varies along the side edges.
- the working out of the first side edge and / or the second side edge on the one hand and / or the locking lip and / or the locking lug on the other hand can be done in a simple case by at least one rotating milling tool.
- at least one fixed broaching tool may be provided for the stated purpose.
- the use of other tools known from the prior art is conceivable, but generally less preferred.
- the support plates are guided past the at least one tool, instead of passing the at least one tool on the support plates, even if this is possible in principle.
- the locking lip and the locking lug of one of a wood material Milled out carrier plate formed. This can be done very precisely. In addition, corresponding locking lips and locking lugs are particularly prone to be damaged when locking each other. For these reasons, preferably both the first side edge and the second side edge are milled out of such a support plate, wherein the profiles of the first side edge and the second side edge are formed so that this can be done easily.
- the method can be carried out particularly well if a carrier plate formed from a medium-density fiberboard (MDF board) or a high-density fiberboard (HDF board) is used. These support plates are particularly easily damaged due to their structure when connecting adjacent panels.
- MDF board medium-density fiberboard
- HDF board high-density fiberboard
- the locking lip, the locking lug or both elements is shortened in sections so that the locking lip and the locking lugs of interconnected side edges no longer in a direction parallel to the support plate and perpendicular to the interconnected side edges against each other, in the section, in the shortening lip and / or the locking lug has been shortened, ie in the shortened section.
- the locking lip and the locking nose then do not touch when connecting the side edges, so that there When connecting no significant forces are introduced into the carrier plate.
- the shortening can, if necessary, go so far that sections along the first side edge no locking lip and / or sections along the second side edge no locking lug is worked out. Where, in any case, no projection between the locking lip and the locking lug in the connected state adjacent panel provide, if necessary, can be completely dispensed with the locking lip and / or the locking lug. Either no locking lip and / or locking lug is worked out in the shortened section, or an already worked out locking lip and / or locking lug subsequently removed in sections again.
- the locking lip and / or the locking lug immediately adjacent to at least one outer end of the first Side edge and / or second side edge shortened to work out.
- first side edge and the second side edge are machined on short sides of the support plate.
- a third side edge and a fourth side edge may be provided on the long sides of the carrier plate or the panel which are intended to be angled into each other (angle profiles).
- angle profiles During the downward angle when angleing a first and / or a second side edge can be connected to similar panels simultaneously.
- the first side edge and the second side edge of adjacent panels must be brought together so closely that they can actually be locked together when swung down during the angle of the third side edge.
- the locking lip on the first side edge and / or the locking lug on the second side edge immediately adjacent to the third side edge shortened out of the carrier plate it may be expedient to work the locking lip on the first side edge and / or the locking lug on the second side edge immediately adjacent to the third side edge shortened out of the carrier plate.
- the locking lip and the locking lug of adjacent side edges can already be prevented from abutting one another before the first and second side edges are pushed completely towards one another and thus aligned with one another when the panel is bent downwards about its third side edge.
- the shortening of the locking lip and / or the locking lug immediately adjacent to the third side edge may alternatively or additionally contribute to a relief of the panel in these otherwise possibly heavily loaded areas of the panel.
- the first and second side edges may be provided on the longer narrow edges of the carrier plate and the third and fourth side edges on the shorter narrow edges of the carrier plate.
- the carrier plate can be guided past an oscillating milling tool for partially shortening the locking lip and / or the locking nose.
- the working out of the partially shortened locking lip and / or locking lug can take place in different ways.
- a milling tool works out the locking lip and / or the locking nose both in the shortened sections and beyond it from the carrier plate.
- the milling tool is preferably designed as an oscillating milling tool. In other words, procedurally, the locking lip along the first side edge and / or the locking lug along the second side edge by an oscillating milling tool both sections shortened and sections are uncut out of the carrier plate.
- the locking lip and / or locking lug In the first case, material of the locking lip and / or the locking lug is removed even before the actual working out of the locking lip and / or the locking lug, while in the second case, the locking lip and / or locking lug initially substantially along the entire first and / or second side edge of the Carefully worked out support plate and then shortened by the oscillating milling tool.
- the length then passes along the first side edge and / or along the second side edge an oscillating Frästechnikzug in the field of subsequently submitzutoden from the support plate locking lip and / or locking lug portions of material of the support plate and worked out in a subsequent process step, the locking lip along the first side edge and / or the locking lug along the second side edge by a fixed milling tool from the support plate.
- the oscillating of the respective oscillating milling tool is preferably matched to the clock rates of the guided for processing on the milling tool guided support plates.
- the timing of the oscillating milling tool with respect to a complete oscillating movement of the timing of the guided on the oscillating milling tool guided support plates.
- the oscillation of the oscillating milling tool ultimately allows the carrier plates to be processed to be guided past the milling tool at high speed in a linear movement.
- the oscillating milling tool moves along a circular path. Then, if necessary, the oscillating milling tool can only come into contact with the carrier plate at certain points of the circular path, specifically in the sections where the locking lip and / or the locking lug are to be shortened.
- the oscillating milling tool can also be moved parallel and / or perpendicular to the carrier plate for shortening the interlocking lip and / or the locking lug in sections.
- the desired material removal at the locking lip and / or locking lug can be achieved by a simple selection of the oscillating milling tool parallel to the carrier plate, perpendicular to the carrier plate and / or circular movement.
- first panel 1 is connected with its first side edge 3 to the second side edge 4 of a second panel 2, for which purpose the first side edge 3 and the second side edge 4 are formed corresponding to one another. It is not shown in detail that the first panel 1 and the second panel 2 on opposite narrow sides each have a first side edge 3 and a second side edge 4.
- first side edge 3 and the second side edge 4 at the short narrow edges of the panels 1, 2 are arranged.
- the first side edge 3 of the first panel 1 and the second side edge 4 of the second panel 2 are engaged by a movement which is more or less perpendicular to the plane of the panels 1, 2.
- the first panel 1 is slipped onto the second panel 2 from above.
- the first side edge 3 has a feather key 6 directed downwards away from an upper side 5 and a locking lip 7 extending in the direction of the second panel 2.
- a locking groove 8 is provided between the locking lip 7 and the feather key 6, a locking groove 8 is provided.
- a locking spring 9 of the second side edge 4 which extends from an underside 10 of the second panel 2 upwards.
- the feather key 6 is in engagement with a fitting groove 11 provided on a side of the locking spring 9 facing the second panel 2.
- the distal end of the feather key 6 bears against the groove bottom of the fitting groove 11.
- the key 6 and the lock spring 9 are formed so that the panels 1,2 are locked in a direction perpendicular to the side edges 3,4 and parallel to the panels 1,2.
- the locking lip 7 is provided at a lower end of the first side edge 3 and engages behind a provided on the locking spring 9 of the second side edge 4 locking lug 12.
- the locking lip 7 and the locking lug 12 have corresponding locking surfaces 13,13 ', in the illustrated, connected state of the two panels 1.2 abut each other and thereby lock the side edges 3, 4 in a direction perpendicular to the adjacent panels 1.2 against each other.
- the side edges 3,4 are formed integrally with the support plates 14 of the first and second panels 1,2.
- the locking lip 7 and the locking lug 12 form a projection 15 with a width b.
- the width b of this projection 15 varies along the two interconnected side edges 3, 4. This is due to the fact that the locking lip 7 of the first side edge 3 of the first panel 1 immediately adjacent to an outer end 16 of the first Side edge 3 is shortened in a shortened section 17.
- the locking lip 7 is so shortened in the shortened portion 17 relative to the remaining portion 18 of the first side edge 3 so that the locking lug 12 in a direction parallel to the panels 1,2 and perpendicular to the side edges 3,4 in the shortened Section 17 does not survive against each other, ie do not form a supernatant 15.
- a gap 19 results rather between the locking lip 7 and the locking lug 12.
- the locking lip 7 is S-shaped curved in the direction of the first side edge 3 in the shortened portion 17, so that between the shortened portion 17 and the adjacent non-shortened portion, ie remaining portion 18, the first side edge 3 no corners or edges are present. In the remaining portion 18, the locking lip 7 engages behind the locking lug 12, so that the corresponding locking surfaces 13, 13 'abut each other and the two together connected panels 1,2 are securely locked together in a direction perpendicular to the panels 1,2.
- the in the FIGS. 2a and 2b shown panels 21,22 also have a first side edge 23 and a second side edges 24 which are integrally connected to the support plates 34 of the first and second panels 21,22.
- the profiles of the first and second side edges 23,24 correspond substantially to the profiles of the in the FIGS. 1a and 1b shown side edges 3,4.
- the shortened section 37, 37 ', 37 are arranged adjacent to the outer ends 36, 36' of the first side edge 23 in the illustrated preferred embodiment while a further shortened portion 37 '' of the locking lip 27 is arranged substantially centrally of the longitudinal extent of the first side edge 23.
- a wave-shaped locking lip 27 results in the longitudinal direction of the first side edge 23
- the locking lip 27 only partially engages behind the opposing locking lug 32 to form a projection 35, in the remaining portions 38.
- the shortened sections 37, 37 ', 37'' are the locking lip 27 and the locking lug 32, however, spaced from each other by a gap 39.
- FIG. 3a and Fig. 3b For example, a first panel 41 and a second panel 42 having a first side edge 43 and a second side edge 44 are shown in FIG Fig. 1a to 2b in principle resemble shown first side edges 3,23 and second side edges 4,24.
- the locking lug 52 of the locking spring 49 is shortened in sections, so that the width b of the supernatant 55 between the locking lip 47 and the locking lug 52 along the two interconnected, integrally formed with the support plates 54 side edges 43,44 varies.
- the locking lug 52 of the second side edge 44 is shortened only in the immediately adjacent to the outer ends 56, 56 'of the second side edge 44, shortened portions 47,47', so that the locking lug 52 in the direction of the two interconnected side edges 43rd , 44 has a curved shape.
- the locking lip 47 and the locking lug 52 are spaced apart in the shortened portions 57 by a gap 49.
- panels 61,62 are provided a whole series of shortened portions 77 along the locking lug 72 each spaced from each other.
- the locking lug 72 is therefore undulated with a substantially uniform wavelength of about 2.5 cm in the direction of the two interconnected side edges 63, 64.
- the locking lip 67 and the locking lug 72 in the shortened sections 77 by column 79 spaced from each other. Only in the remaining sections 78, the locking lip 67 engages behind the adjacent locking lug 72, which form a projection 75 in this way.
- the panel 61 has an elasticity groove 81 on the side of the locking lip 67 facing away from the locking groove 68.
- this elasticity groove is not mandatory.
- a corresponding elasticity groove could also be required in the Fig. 1a to 3b be provided panels 1,2,21,22,41,42 provided.
- both the locking lip of the first side edge and the locking lug of the second side edge may have shortened sections.
- the locking lip and the locking lug can be shortened so that the shortened portions facing each other in the connected state of the side edges or spaced apart in the direction of the connected side edges.
- carrier plates 14,34,54,74 are shown for the sake of clarity, no connection profiles.
- connecting profiles may also be provided on the third side edges 20, 40, 60, 80 and the fourth side edges 20 ', 40', 60 ', 80', which are preferably the long narrow edges of the panels, around the panels 1,2,21,22,41,42,61,62 on all four side edges with further similar panels 1,2,21,22,41,42,61,62 to to connect a covering.
- the third side edge may be configured like the first side edge and the fourth side edge as the second side edge.
- connection profiles are provided on the third side edge and the fourth side edge, which are connected to one another in a different way as the first side edge and the second side edge.
- these are so-called angle profiles.
- the illustrated panels 1,2,21,22,41,42,61,62 have as a carrier plate on a high density fiberboard (HDF). But it would also be possible to use a medium-density fiberboard (MDF), a particle board, an Oriented Strained Board (OSB), a plastic plate or a plate made of a plastic / wood material mixture as a support plate.
- MDF medium-density fiberboard
- OSB Oriented Strained Board
- plastic plate or a plate made of a plastic / wood material mixture as a support plate.
- Fig. 5 1 schematically shows a method for producing panels 100 of the type described above.
- prefabricated carrier plates 101 are first guided past a first group of milling tools 102 in a direction parallel to the long narrow edges of the carrier plates 101.
- the illustrated, prefabricated carrier plates 101 have a laminate coating with at least one decorative paper and have been sawn from a larger material plate with the desired dimensions.
- the support plates 101 consist of a wood material.
- a third side edge 103 and a fourth side edge 104 opposite to it are machined out of the carrier plate 101.
- the third side edge 103 and the fourth side edge have corresponding profiles, which make it possible to connect the third side edge with a fourth side edge 104 of a similar panel 100 by angling the third side edge 103 into the fourth side edge 104.
- other profiles could also be provided on the third side edge 103 and the fourth side edge 104.
- the carrier plate 101 is transported further in a direction parallel to the short narrow edges along a second group of milling tools 105.
- This second group of milling tools 105 operates a first side edge 106 and a second side edge 107 out of the support plate 101, the first side edge 106 having a locking lip and the second side edge 107 having a locking lug.
- the locking lip and the locking nose initially extend essentially from one end of the first side edge 106 and the second side edge 107 to the respective opposite end of the corresponding side edge 106,107.
- the carrier plates 101 follow in the transport direction oscillating milling tool 108, which partially shortens the provided on the first side edge 103 locking lip.
- the oscillating milling tool 108 oscillates in such a way that the locking lip of the first side edge 106 is shortened immediately adjacent to the third side edge 103, to such an extent that the locking lip in this shortened portion when connecting the first side edge 106 with a second side edge 107th of an adjacent like panel 100 does not protrude in a direction parallel to the panel 100 and perpendicular to the two connected side edges 106, 107 opposite the locking lug.
- the oscillating milling tool 108 oscillates in a plane parallel to the processed support plate 101 and perpendicular to the transport direction of the support plate 101.
- other movement patterns can be adjusted as needed depending on the design of the side edge.
- the at least one oscillating milling tool can, if required, also be arranged in the transport direction of the carrier plates in front of the group of milling tools, which work out the first side edge and the second side edge from the carrier plate. Then, the locking lip and / or the locking lug is partially shortened before the locking lip and / or the locking lug has been worked out of the carrier plate. In other words, the locking lip and / or the locking lug is already milled out of the carrier plate with a shortening, because in the shortened section material has already been removed from the carrier plate, where otherwise the locking lip and / or the locking lug would be located.
- first the first side edge and the second side edge are machined out of the carrier plates before the third side edge and the fourth side edge is machined out of the carrier plate.
- shortening of the locking lip and / or the locking nose before or after the actual working out of the first or second side edge of the carrier plate can also be done.
- the order of the individual process steps for working out the side edges can thus be reversed in principle.
- the number of tools used for this purpose is not fixed, but should be as low as possible for cost reasons.
