- an engine compartment trim which is formed adapted to the angled design of an engine compartment.
- this known engine compartment lining which incidentally has a foam layer, has a metal foil.
- a foam-based sound absorber is known, which has a front and rear flat side and has a layered structure.
- a sound absorber is known in which on the first flat side a nonwoven fabric is applied to the foam.
- a nonwoven fabric is applied to the foam.
- a textile which may also be a nonwoven.
- the absorber With regard to shock absorption, it is desirable for the absorber to remain as unaffected as possible with regard to occasional or accidental impact damage, for instance by means of a ball throw. In addition, it is desirable that such absorbers have a high fire safety. Not least, the sound attenuation in the for a sound attenuation in buildings, for example Administration buildings, or be as good as possible in halls such as production halls essential frequency ranges.
- the invention has the object of providing a sound and shock absorber as indicated above in such a way that at high fire safety at the same time the highest possible insensitivity to shock events and nevertheless a good sound attenuation given is.
- the nonwoven fabric is a glass fiber fleece, that on the second flat side, a metal foil is applied and that between the metal foil and the foam, a nonwoven layer of glass fibers is arranged.
- the metal foil initially advantageously reinforces the foam layer, which is accordingly bordered in cross section between the front glass fiber fleece layer and the metal foil. This results in a strength favorable sandwich structure. Nevertheless, the metal foil can be very thin.
- the metal foil has an acoustically reflective effect. In the absorber through the first flat side penetrating sound waves are reflected back and can thus again through the thickness of the foam layer, so that amplifies the damping effect .. At the same time, a metal foil fire technology advantageous.
- the glass fiber nonwoven layer applied on the front side also contributes to the increase of the mechanical strength. It not only reduces the immediate impairment of the foam in a shock load, but acts, in combination with said metal foil, force distributing over the entire surface of the absorber under bending loads.
- the fleece layer of glass fibers additionally provided between the foam and the metal foil practically does not affect the acoustic properties of the absorber. However, this still achieves a significant mechanical improvement in that forces are not instantaneous can penetrate the metal foil and thus may possibly lead to tearing or the like. This results in an advantageous reinforcement of the metal foil.
- the acoustically effective nonwoven layer also leads to a further advantageous reinforcement in the overall composite, for example with regard to the sensitivity to bending stresses or areally concentrated impact loads.
- the glass fiber fleece layer is also advantageous in terms of fire technology.
- Such an absorber can, for example, be bordered at the edge in frame parts, preferably metal frame parts, which surround the abovementioned absorber structure approximately in the sense of a C-profile. But it can also be an angle profile with a border profile, said structure front or rear, in the edge region, against the angle section adjacent, for example, glued, may be.
- Such absorbers may have a surface dimension of, for example, 2 to 4 m ⁇ 0.5 to 2 m. A surface dimension of, for example, 3 ⁇ 1.25 m is preferred.
- the thickness of such an absorber can be, for example, between 5 and 150 mm.
- an absorber described here preferably has a thickness which is smaller than a surface extent. The areal extent corresponds at least in one direction to 4 times or more the thickness.
- Said construction advantageously allows a relatively large unsupported size of the absorber as indicated.
- basis weights of the absorber are realized - without frames - in the range of 100 to 300 g.
- the glass fiber fleece on the visible side is further preferably reinforced by a glass fiber fabric.
- the glass fiber fleece can be provided on both sides or penetrating with respect to the glass fiber fabric.
- the glass fiber fabric can also be laid on the outside of the glass fiber fleece or can be arranged on the inside only as a composite layer between the glass fiber fleece and the foam.
- Both the backside materials, the metal foil and the glass fiber fleece, as well as the materials applied to the front, in turn the glass fiber fleece and preferably the fabric, more preferably the glass fiber fabric, are preferably joined to the foam with a hot melt adhesive.

Hierbei zeigt:
- Fig. 1
- eine schematische, teilweise entsprechend einer Explosionsdarstellung aufgefächert gezeichnete Darstellung des Absorbers;
- Fig. 2
- einen Querschnitt durch den Gegenstand gemäß
Fig. 1 , geschnitten entlang der Linie II-II.
Fig. 1 zeigt die zweite Flachseite 4 oben.
