Definitions
- the invention relates to a resealable packaging according to one of claims 1 to 13 and a prefabricated multi-layer film according to claim 14.
- Such resealable film packaging are known per se and are used, for example, for the packaging of wet wipes.
- the advantage of this packaging is that the contents are protected from drying out thanks to the resealability.
- Such a film packaging is for example from WO 2005/123535 A1 known. This has predetermined breaking lines extending through the top film from above and through the sealing film from below in the form of perforations or notches at which the top film detaches from the sealing film while the area provided with pressure-sensitive adhesive remains. Also from the EP 1 103 488 A1 and the US 2005/0276525 A1 a pack with such a reclosable packaging in a very simple embodiment is known.
- the general problem with the previously known packaging is that the packaging closed before the first opening is tight against moisture permeability, but that it does not have sufficient tightness against gases, such as in particular oxygen, nitrogen or CO 2 .
- This type of packaging is therefore hardly suitable for permanently protecting perishable foods such as sausage or cheese. This is especially true because such foods are usually packaged in a gas atmosphere and it is particularly important for the shelf life that the protected gas does not escape as far as possible.
- U.S. 4,735,335 discloses a tape with lids for flat edged thermoplastic containers comprising a first tape made of aluminum and a second thermoplastic tape.
- the object of the present invention is first of all to propose a resealable packaging with a high gas density which can be produced with simple means, which offers the goods packaged therein great protection and which is easy and convenient for the user to handle.
- a method for applying the film cover to a tray in the context of the production of a packaging according to the invention is to be proposed.
- the invention is initially based on the essential idea that the upper film forms a reliably stabilizing layer that is attached to the film cover mechanical rigidity there. According to the invention, this requirement is realized in that the upper film is homogeneous throughout and has no predetermined breaking line up to the outer edge of the edge strip. This upper film, which is "undamaged" over the entire packaging, offers the highest possible stability. According to the invention, the top film is formed by a single stable layer of oriented polypropylene film with a thickness between 38 g / m2 and 42 g / m2, which can also be printed and / or lacquered with a label specific to the product.
- the further fundamental idea that is essential to the invention lies in the special distribution of different adhesives within the adhesive layer.
- This distribution is such that the adhesive layer has an inner central area in which the upper film is permanently bonded to the sealing film by means of a permanent adhesive.
- an outer edge area is also provided, in which, at least in the sections where the upper film is to detach from the sealing film, the upper film and the sealing film are releasably and resealably glued to one another by means of a pressure-sensitive adhesive, in particular a PSA ("Pressure Sensitive Adhesive").
- PSA Pressure Sensitive Adhesive
- the predetermined breaking line in the foil stack of the sealing foil is now provided between the edge area and the central area, so that the permanent adhesive is located within the predetermined breaking line and the pressure sensitive adhesive is located outside the predetermined breaking line.
- the predetermined breaking line would thus correspond to the boundary between the pressure-sensitive adhesive and the permanent adhesive. Care must be taken that the predetermined breaking line does not come into contact with the edge area provided with adhesive. On the other hand, it would be unproblematic if it ends at the outer edge of the central area and thus a little bit in the permanent adhesive. In this way, when the packaging is torn open, the upper film remains adhered to the sealing film in the central area.
- the predetermined breaking line is formed by an embossing made in the sealing film, which softens the stack of layers Sealing foil cut through at least up to the barrier layer.
- This can be introduced mechanically or, in a special embodiment, from below by means of a laser beam into the stack of upper film and sealing film.
- the packaging according to the invention is optimized with regard to its gas density in the originally closed state. This enables the food stored in the packaging to have a long shelf life.
- the layer stack forming the sealing film has a specially designed barrier layer which has a particular density with respect to the diffusion of oxygen, nitrogen or carbon dioxide.
- a barrier layer For the construction of such a barrier layer, it is advisable to vapor-deposit a metallization onto a plastic layer.
- a plastic layer For example, an aluminum layer with a thickness between 5 nm and 10 nm can be vapor-deposited onto a layer of PET (polyethylene terephthalate) will. It can be advantageous if this metallization forms the top layer of the sealing film.
- the predetermined breaking lines are then ideally brought up to the metallization "from below” so carefully that it is not penetrated, but is at most embossed and thus remains gas-tight.
- the metallization can be covered by a further layer of polyamide.
- the vapor-deposited metallization within the barrier layer can also be replaced by a likewise vapor-deposited oxide layer, in particular a layer of metal oxide, such as AlO x , or a layer of semiconductor oxide, in particular SiO x .
- a correspondingly thicker plastic layer, in particular made of polyamide, can be provided as the barrier layer.
- the "film sandwich", i.e. the stack, made up of the upper film and the sealing film can be finished in advance as a film composite and delivered to the packaging machine in a pre-assembled roll for further use.
- the packaging machine which advantageously also forms and fills the trays during the packaging process, can then cover the filled trays with the prefabricated multilayer composite film in a step serving to close the trays and seal them on the edge strips of the trays.
- Such a procedure is particularly effective and inexpensive.
- Particularly biocompatible plastics, such as PLA (“polylactide”) can also be used within the framework of this film composite.
- an appropriately prefabricated multilayer composite film is necessary for this, which is suitable for application to a preformed shell and thus for the production of packaging according to the invention insofar as it provides the necessary structuring within the adhesive layer with regard to the distribution of permanent adhesive and pressure sensitive adhesive, but also the formation of a tear corner at the front in includes.
- Such a multilayer composite film accordingly comprises the top film and the sealing film provided with predetermined breaking lines.
- Upper film and Sealing foils are now glued to one another by means of the various adhesives in such a way that a permanent adhesive is present in those areas that represent the central areas in the later finished packaging, which permanently connects the upper foil and the sealing foil Later packaging represent edge areas, releasably and resealably connected by means of a pressure-sensitive adhesive. Accordingly, tear tabs and connecting sections can be provided from the start.
- a packaging method for a food in particular in slices offers the following steps: First, in a first step, the composite material used to produce the shells is arranged in several over their edge area connected shells.
- the composite material advantageously has a sealing layer, in particular made of polyethylene. Shaping takes place in particular by means of a deep-drawing process.
- the bowls shaped in this way are then equipped with the food.
- the shells that are still connected and equipped are then covered with the prefabricated multilayer composite film and specifically sealed on the edge strip. Finally, the filled and closed shells are separated in a cutting process.
- FIG. 1 a section through a simple resealable packaging in the closed state without any goods to be packaged inserted therein is shown schematically.
- This packaging has a shell 1 made of a composite material with a carrier layer made of plastic or aluminum and has a surrounding edge strip 2.
- the shell 1 is closed by a multilayer film cover 3.
- the closure takes place by means of a seal, with a sealing layer 4 located on the edge strip 2 being heat-sealed against a likewise sealable film 14, which covers the film lid 3 as the lowest layer, by means of a sealing seam 5.
- the sealing layer 4 and the film 14 are advantageously made of polyethylene.
- the foil lid 3 consists of a stabilizing upper film 6 and the sealing layer 4 overlying and individual as stack layers one by means of the edge strip 2 formed sealing film 7.
- the upper film 1 a stable carrier layer of oriented respectively oriented polypropylene of a thickness of between 38 g / m 2 and 42 g / m 2 .
- the sealing film 7 is therefore sealed with its underside onto the edge region 2 of the shell 1.
- the top film 6 is connected to the sealing film 7 by means of an adhesive layer 8, a predetermined breaking line 9 being provided in the sealing film 7, for example by means of a laser beam, on which the top film 6 detaches from the edge areas of the sealing film 7 when the packaging is torn open.
- the predetermined breaking line 9 is formed by an embossing made in the sealing film and cuts through the sealing film up to the barrier layer. It ends at the boundary between the adhesive and the Permanent glue.
- the upper film 6 is homogeneously continuous up to the outer edge of the edge strip 2 and accordingly has no predetermined breaking line.
- the sealing film 7 is a composite of a sealable polyethylene film 14 located below and a film layer 15 made of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) applied over it.
- a layer 16 made of polyamide is provided over the PET film, through which the predetermined breaking line 9 passes.
- the adhesive layer 8 has an inner central area 10 in which the upper film 6 is permanently bonded to the sealing film 7 with a permanent adhesive. With this permanently adhesive bond, the sealing film 7 remains attached to the upper film 6 in the frame of the central area as soon as the packaging is opened and tears open at the predetermined breaking line 9 ( Figure 2b ).
- the adhesive layer 8 has an outer edge area 11, with the exception of a connecting section 12 ( Figure 5 ) a pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) is provided in the edge area which enables reclosure.
- PSA pressure sensitive adhesive
- the exemplary embodiments described are provided with a metallization 17 which forms a barrier layer and which is vapor-deposited as a thin film on the PET film layer 15 located below.
- the packages are each shown in the opened state, in which the layer formed by the pressure-sensitive adhesive has separated into layers 13a and 13b.
- the predetermined breaking line 9 formed by laser cutting extends from below to the metallization 17, which should not be completely penetrated.
- the metallization 17 only tears open at the breaking line 9 when it is opened for the first time.
- FIG. 5 a plan view of a finished package is now shown as it is cut out from an arrangement of several packages.
- the central area 18 having the permanent adhesive can be seen, which is delimited by the predetermined breaking line 19.
- the predetermined breaking line 19 is formed by a laser cut which extends between the points 20 and 21 around a large part of the central area 18.
- the laser cut takes out the connecting section 12, in which the upper film and the sealing film are permanently connected by means of the permanent adhesive.
- the edge region 22, indicated by hatching is formed, in which the pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) enabling reclosure is provided.
- PSA pressure-sensitive adhesive
- the upper film forms a tear-open tab 23, with no adhesive being located between the sealing film and the tear-open tab formed by the upper film, but the sealing film being sealed to the edge area. In this way, the pull tab 23 can be easily lifted off.
- the area of the circumferential seal between the shell and the sealing film is denoted by 24.
- trough-like depressions (not shown) can be made which, due to the bottom that is recessed with respect to the edge, form areas which are excluded from the seal. In this way, tearing open the sealing film is simplified.
- FIG. 6 a prefabricated multilayer composite film is shown for application to, in this case, six preformed trays.
- the central areas 25, which are connected by means of the permanent adhesive, can be seen.
- the edge regions 26 connected by means of pressure-sensitive adhesive are shown.
- the shells that are still connected and equipped are covered with this prefabricated multilayer composite film and specifically sealed onto the edge strip 27. Finally, the filled and closed shells are separated in a cutting process.
Description
The invention relates to a resealable packaging according to one of claims 1 to 13 and a prefabricated multi-layer film according to
The general problem with the previously known packaging is that the packaging closed before the first opening is tight against moisture permeability, but that it does not have sufficient tightness against gases, such as in particular oxygen, nitrogen or CO 2 . This type of packaging is therefore hardly suitable for permanently protecting perishable foods such as sausage or cheese. This is especially true because such foods are usually packaged in a gas atmosphere and it is particularly important for the shelf life that the protected gas does not escape as far as possible.

The object of the present invention is first of all to propose a resealable packaging with a high gas density which can be produced with simple means, which offers the goods packaged therein great protection and which is easy and convenient for the user to handle. In addition, it is the object of the invention to propose a film that is easy to use by machine and with which the packaging according to the invention can be realized. In addition, a method for applying the film cover to a tray in the context of the production of a packaging according to the invention is to be proposed.
These objects are achieved by the resealable packaging according to claim 1 and the film according to
The invention is initially based on the essential idea that the upper film forms a reliably stabilizing layer that is attached to the film cover mechanical rigidity there.
The further fundamental idea that is essential to the invention lies in the special distribution of different adhesives within the adhesive layer. This distribution is such that the adhesive layer has an inner central area in which the upper film is permanently bonded to the sealing film by means of a permanent adhesive. According to the invention, an outer edge area is also provided, in which, at least in the sections where the upper film is to detach from the sealing film, the upper film and the sealing film are releasably and resealably glued to one another by means of a pressure-sensitive adhesive, in particular a PSA ("Pressure Sensitive Adhesive"). Such a pressure-sensitive adhesive enables the packaging to be reclosed several times by laying the top film and sealing film on top of one another.
The predetermined breaking line in the foil stack of the sealing foil is now provided between the edge area and the central area, so that the permanent adhesive is located within the predetermined breaking line and the pressure sensitive adhesive is located outside the predetermined breaking line. The predetermined breaking line would thus correspond to the boundary between the pressure-sensitive adhesive and the permanent adhesive.
It is advantageous that, according to the invention, the predetermined breaking line is formed by an embossing made in the sealing film, which softens the stack of layers Sealing foil cut through at least up to the barrier layer. This can be introduced mechanically or, in a special embodiment, from below by means of a laser beam into the stack of upper film and sealing film.
Such an arrangement of a continuous upper film and a predetermined breaking line opening at the adhesive boundary has the great advantage of increased gas density in contrast to the previously known generic packaging. It has been found that the pressure-sensitive adhesive is not gas-tight due to the capillary action, in particular against the passage of N 2 or CO 2 , and an undesired gas exchange occurs via a predetermined breaking line designed as a slot or perforation through the layer of the pressure-sensitive adhesive. Since this path is closed against the passage of moisture, this problem has not yet impaired the functionality of the known generic packaging. Thus, the generic packaging was optimized with regard to the smallest possible but nevertheless comfortable removal opening and thus low evaporation in the open state. For this reason, it was necessary in the known packaging to provide a predetermined breaking line not only "from below" through the sealing film, but also "from above" through the upper film, which not only complicates production, but also greatly reduces the gas density. In contrast, the packaging according to the invention is optimized with regard to its gas density in the originally closed state. This enables the food stored in the packaging to have a long shelf life.
With regard to the high gas tightness, it is particularly advantageous if the layer stack forming the sealing film has a specially designed barrier layer which has a particular density with respect to the diffusion of oxygen, nitrogen or carbon dioxide. For the construction of such a barrier layer, it is advisable to vapor-deposit a metallization onto a plastic layer. For example, an aluminum layer with a thickness between 5 nm and 10 nm can be vapor-deposited onto a layer of PET (polyethylene terephthalate) will. It can be advantageous if this metallization forms the top layer of the sealing film. The predetermined breaking lines are then ideally brought up to the metallization "from below" so carefully that it is not penetrated, but is at most embossed and thus remains gas-tight. In a particularly advantageous embodiment, the metallization can be covered by a further layer of polyamide.
The vapor-deposited metallization within the barrier layer can also be replaced by a likewise vapor-deposited oxide layer, in particular a layer of metal oxide, such as AlO x , or a layer of semiconductor oxide, in particular SiO x . As an alternative to this, a correspondingly thicker plastic layer, in particular made of polyamide, can be provided as the barrier layer.
Another special feature of the packaging according to the invention is that the "film sandwich", i.e. the stack, made up of the upper film and the sealing film can be finished in advance as a film composite and delivered to the packaging machine in a pre-assembled roll for further use. The packaging machine, which advantageously also forms and fills the trays during the packaging process, can then cover the filled trays with the prefabricated multilayer composite film in a step serving to close the trays and seal them on the edge strips of the trays. Such a procedure is particularly effective and inexpensive. Particularly biocompatible plastics, such as PLA ("polylactide"), can also be used within the framework of this film composite.
However, an appropriately prefabricated multilayer composite film is necessary for this, which is suitable for application to a preformed shell and thus for the production of packaging according to the invention insofar as it provides the necessary structuring within the adhesive layer with regard to the distribution of permanent adhesive and pressure sensitive adhesive, but also the formation of a tear corner at the front in includes. Such a multilayer composite film accordingly comprises the top film and the sealing film provided with predetermined breaking lines. Upper film and Sealing foils are now glued to one another by means of the various adhesives in such a way that a permanent adhesive is present in those areas that represent the central areas in the later finished packaging, which permanently connects the upper foil and the sealing foil Later packaging represent edge areas, releasably and resealably connected by means of a pressure-sensitive adhesive. Accordingly, tear tabs and connecting sections can be provided from the start.
With such a composite film, a packaging method for a food in particular in slices, such as a stack of cheese or sausage slices, offers the following steps: First, in a first step, the composite material used to produce the shells is arranged in several over their edge area connected shells. The composite material advantageously has a sealing layer, in particular made of polyethylene. Shaping takes place in particular by means of a deep-drawing process. In a further step, the bowls shaped in this way are then equipped with the food. The shells that are still connected and equipped are then covered with the prefabricated multilayer composite film and specifically sealed on the edge strip. Finally, the filled and closed shells are separated in a cutting process.
