Definitions
- the present invention relates to devices for writing, marking and / or painting with a liquid medium, in particular devices for applying highly pigmented inks, referred to in practice as valve markers.
- a prior art which are devices for writing, painting or marking. They have a receiving housing, with a receiving space for the medium.
- the receiving space has an intermediate wall with a through hole, which divides the receiving space into a storage space and a working space.
- At least one closure and / or mixing body which cooperates with a seat formed in the region of the through-hole, can be arranged in the storage space.
- a closure and / or mixing body can be arranged in the working space, which cooperates with a seat formed in the region of the through-hole.
- a valve device is arranged, which comprises a valve housing with a valve seat and a valve closure body acted upon by a return spring having.
- the valve closure body is movably mounted in the valve housing cooperating with the valve seat. It is provided a writing tip, which is connectable to the working space.
- a sponge is arranged as a buffer between the valve device and the writing tip.
- the valve closure member is designed as a piston, which is guided displaceably in the valve housing and thereby largely fills the entire cross-section of the valve housing. In the valve housing remain relatively narrow angled annular spaces that receive the return spring and the medium.
- the inflow opening of the valve housing can be closed by a ball. This ball forms a closure and / or mixing body. It lies in the writing position, in which the writing tip is directed downwards, in each case in the inflow opening and closes it.
- the writing instrument In order to allow an inflow of medium into the valve housing, the writing instrument must be shaken, so that the ball comes out of its blocking position from the inlet opening. During the shaking movement, the ball simultaneously acts as a mixing body for the medium in the receiving space outside the valve housing.
- the disadvantage is that in each case a shaking movement is required to move the ball from the flow hole, so that an inflow of ink into the working space is made possible. This interferes with handling when working with the writing instrument for a long time.
- valve marker writing instrument In the US 2004/0240925 A1 is another described as a valve marker writing instrument described which is intended in particular for writing with colored ink.
- the binder and the dye are stored in separate spaces, which are separated in the non-use position of the writing instrument via a closed valve means to prevent mixing of binder and dye.
- the valve device is opened so that a mixture of binder and dye takes place in the region above the writing tip. The user can then write with colored ink.
- no intermediate wall with through hole for a subdivision into a reservoir and a working space is provided in the receiving space.
- no closure and / or mixing body is provided which has a seat in the region of a through-hole having.
- the receiving space is in the embodiment in US 2004/0240925 A1 is separated exclusively by the valve seat of the valve housing and is actuated by the designed as a ram valve closure body so that the valve seat is open when writing.
- the open position of the valve in the writing position is required to realize the mixture of the dye with the binder, which must be due to the separate arrangement of binder and dye for writing.
- the ink is stored in two separate rooms, in a storage room and in a working space, which are separated by an intermediate wall with a through hole.
- the separation takes place in that the ink is held in the area of the through hole in the storage space due to its surface tension.
- the separation can be canceled by engaging the plunger of the valve closure member by pushing the writing tip into the through hole so far that the liquid surface is pierced and the ink in the upper portion of the working space formed between the intermediate wall and the valve seat, passes.
- a memory is formed with an ink absorption body, via which the writing tip is supplied with ink.
- the valve seat By pushing in the writing tip, the valve seat is opened to supply the ink to the lower working space.
- the valve device is closed, so that only the ink present in the lower working space in the ink absorption body is available during writing.
- no closure and / or mixing body is provided in the storage space or in the working space, which cooperates with a seat in the region of the through hole of the intermediate wall.
- the closure of the through hole in the intermediate wall is realized in this known construction exclusively by the surface tension of the medium received in the storage space. In order to allow passage from the storage space into the working space, it is necessary in this known construction, with the end of the plunger through reaching through the through-hole and piercing the liquid surface.
- the present invention has for its object to provide a valve marker, which is ensured in a structurally simple manner that the ink flow from the storage space in the working space is made possible even with prolonged use without frequent shaking.
- the essence of this solution is that in the arranged in the region of the through-hole seat at least one passageway is formed, which also in lying on the seat closure and / or mixing body through the passageway permitting replacement of air and / or medium between the storage room and the working space.
- the formed in the seat of the closure and mixing body at least one passage channel allows a passage between the reservoir and the working space, even if the closure and / or mixing body rests on the seat and covers the through hole.
- the closure and / or mixing body may be formed in preferred embodiments as a ball.
- the seat in the region of the through hole may be formed so that the resting on the seat closure and / or mixing body completely covers the fürgangsloch.
- the at least one through-channel is formed in the seat such that even in this position of the closure and / or mixing body of the passage allows passage between the reservoir and working space, so that an exchange of air and / or medium between these spaces is guaranteed.
- the exchange of air and / or medium between the pantry and work space is required for the handling of the writing instrument.
- a pressure equalization must preferably be done in the manner of aeration. This can be done in the present case by the at least one through-channel.
- other conventional ventilation and Pressure compensation devices be present.
- the at least one through-channel acts primarily or exclusively as an inflow channel for the medium from the storage space into the working space. In preferred embodiments, however, it is provided that the at least one through-channel serves both for the ventilation and for the inflow of the medium.
- a plurality of passage channels are provided, preferably distributed over the circumference of the seat around the through hole.
- the plurality of through channels a particularly reliable exchange of air and / or medium between the storage room and working space can be realized.
- the uniform distribution over the circumference of the seat contributes to this particularly advantageous.
- the groove is at least partially covered by the closure and / or mixing body when it rests on the seat.
- the seat is formed on an outer surface of a substantially annular body which is inserted into the through hole and that the at least one passageway is formed in this body. Furthermore, it is possible for the seat to have a substantially conical and / or stepped seat surface and for the at least one through-channel or pass-through channels in the seat surface to be directed radially to the through-hole.
- valve closure body is designed as a ram.
- the plunger may engage with its end remote from the valve seat in the through hole of the intermediate wall and / or cross-through the through hole of the intermediate wall and thereby formed cooperating with the closure and / or mixing body.
- a closure element e.g. Foil or film skin is fixed substance and or positively, wherein the closure element is moved away by the remote from the valve seat end of the plunger by moving the plunger before the first use of the device and / or destructible.
- the closure element is designed as a film skin which can be pierced by the end of the tappet.
- the film skin is arranged on the working space facing side of the intermediate wall and preferably also fixed there.
- the writing tip is mounted relative to the receiving housing and retractable under actuation of the valve body such that the writing tip extended in the non-use position and the valve device is closed, and that the writing tip retracted in writing position and the valve device is open.
- the plunger can be one with the valve seat having cooperating valve closure portion.
- the plunger has a guide portion which engages in the guide hole of the valve housing.
- the plunger may have a cooperating with the guide hole stop portion.
- the plunger has a spring receiving portion for receiving the concentrically arranged return spring, which is supported on the valve housing or on the intermediate wall of the receiving space.
- the closing body actuated by the writing tip forms with an inner wall of the valve housing a passage which, in the manner of a metering valve, is variably permeable depending on the position of the valve closure body.
- the inner wall of the valve housing may be conical and / or stepped and / or the outer wall of the valve closure body may be conical and / or stepped.
- the front valve housing 31 is inserted into the rear valve housing 32 and thereby latched over a not shown in the insertion area on the front valve housing 31 annular bead.
- This composed of the front valve housing 31 and the rear valve housing 32 housing is kept inserted into the receiving housing 10 via press fit.
- the sleeve 12 is screwed onto the front end of the exception housing 10 on an external thread, not shown.
- the sleeve 12 is fixed by pressing or by a snap connection on the receiving housing.
- the sleeve 12 engages over while the writing tip 40, which is inserted in the front leading end 31f of the front valve housing 31, is out of the sleeve 12 and retractable.
- the calibrated annular gap 3fs formed in the front leading end 31f of the front valve housing 31 for guiding the writing tip 40 will be described later in detail.
- valve seat 30s is formed. It is designed as a conically tapered annular inner edge of the end facing away from the writing tip 40 of the front valve housing 31.
- the valve closure body 33 designed as a plunger has a thickened valve closure section 33v.
- the valve closure portion 33v engages in the Fig. 1 shown closure position of the valve 30 with its the valve seat 30s facing the end in the valve seat 30s a.
- the valve closure portion 33v has a conical valve closure surface 33k located in the in Fig. 1 shown closed position on the conically tapered inner edge of the valve seat 30s tightly seated and closes the valve seat 31s.
- the valve closure portion 33v has at its side remote from the valve seat 30s region a cylindrical portion 33z with an annular edge 33r, which forms a metering gap with a conical inner wall 32i of the rear valve housing 32, when the plunger 33 with open valve opposite to the representation in Fig. 1 is shifted upwards. This shift takes place in the writing position by appropriate pressure on the writing tip 40.
- the writing tip 40 is with your engaging in the front valve housing 31 end respectively in contact with the end facing the plunger 33.
- the plunger 33 is on the return spring 34 in the valve closing direction applied.
- the return spring 34 is arranged coaxially on a spring receiving portion of the plunger 33. It is supported with its one end on an annular collar of the plunger 33 and with its other end at the inner end of the rear valve housing 32.
- the rear valve housing 32 is formed substantially in the manner of a conical basket, which tapers towards the rear end. In this rear end, a central through hole 32 f is formed, through which the rear free end 33 f of the plunger 33 engages. The rear end 33f is thus a leading end of the plunger 33.
- the conical inner wall 32i is formed with the annular edge 33r of the cylindrical valve closure portion 33z of the plunger 33 forms the metering gap.
- longitudinal slots 32s are formed in the wall of the housing, which extend axially distributed over the circumference of the rear wall.
- the rear guide end 33f of the plunger 33 engaging through the guide hole 32f has, in the embodiment in FIG Fig. 1 a cross-shaped cross-section (not shown).
- the free end 33f of the plunger engages in the position in Fig. 2 with the cross-shaped or star-shaped cross-section in the through hole 21 of the intermediate wall 20 a.
- the guide hole 32f is circular in cross section, wherein the diameter of the guide hole corresponds to the diameter of the cross or star-shaped cross section, that is, the diameter of the guide hole 32f is slightly larger than this diameter of the plunger, ie the sweeping ram end 33f, so that the plunger 33rd in the guide hole 32f is displaced accordingly.
- one of the mixing and closing balls 22 arranged in the storage space 11 v lies on the through-hole 21 of the intermediate wall 20, as shown in FIG Fig. 1 is shown.
- a ball seat 23 is formed in the intermediate wall 20 in an annular step of the through-hole 21 facing the storage space 11v.
- the ball seat 23 is formed as a substantially annular body which is inserted into the annular step of the through hole 21.
- the body has a conical surface as a bearing surface for the mixing and closing ball 22.
- a plurality of groove-shaped radially extending channels 20k are uniformly distributed over the circumference of the support surface, preferably distributed in a star shape.
- the groove-shaped channels 20k are preferably U-shaped or V-shaped in cross-section. When the mixing and closing ball 22 rests on the conical bearing surface, these channels 20k are open towards the top, both in the rear section, which faces the storage compartment 11v, and in a front section, which is directed towards the through hole 23, and covered only in a central portion of the ball 22, but not shut off. The channels 20k are therefore not closed even when the ball is resting, but open with a reduced passage.
- the channel cross section of the channels 20k relative to the ball diameter is designed in each case depending on the medium provided for use, so that even with resting ball 22 a certain passage of the medium of certain viscosity is made possible and also each a ventilation of the reservoir 11v is guaranteed. Ventilation is required when fluid flows from the reservoir 11v into the working space 11a.
- the device is held down for a long time with the writing tip 40, for example during prolonged writing operation or when stored appropriately, it happens that the color pigments in the storage space 11v in the region of Put through channels 20k.
- the passageways 20k clog more or less and eventually close completely. This means that no medium from the storage room 11v can flow into the working space 11a more and ventilation in the pantry 11v is no longer possible.
- the writing tip 40 is then no longer supplied with the medium. An undesired outflow of the medium is prevented. But a letter is no longer possible due to lack of supply of writing tip 40 with medium.
- the user is forced to shake the device to resume writing. With shaking, the medium is mixed in the storage space 11v and, if present, the medium in the working space 11a.
- the sedimentation in the through-channels 20k is remedied and again a writable mixed state of the medium is produced.
- the now writable medium can again flow from the storage space 11v into the working space 11a and is available at the writing tip 40.
- a second mixing and closing ball 22 is disposed in the storage space 11v, which rests in the usual writing posture - ie when the writing tip 40 in the vertical direction down - rests on the top of the resting on the valve seat 23 ball 22.
- the valve marker is shaken, the two balls 22 in the reservoir 11v lift off from the intermediate wall 20. They are moved back and forth in the storage room 11v while shaking. The ball seat 23 of the through hole 21 is thus released, so that the medium from the storage space 11 v can pass into the working space 11 a.
- the writing tip 40 is in the front end of the sleeve 12 off and inserted. It is guided by the front sleeve-shaped guide end 31 f of the front valve housing 31. This guide of the writing tip 40 in the front valve housing 31 is carried out to form a calibrated annular cross-section guide slot 31 fs.
- the annular guide slot 31fs in the sleeve-shaped guide end 31f has an axial length which corresponds to approximately one third of the axial length of the writing tip 40 formed as a cylinder body.
- the calibration is performed in such a way that the inside width of this annular slit 31fs permits a ventilation of the receiving space 11, but a flowing exit of the medium does not take place through the annular guide slit 31fs.
- the outer wall of the guide pin 40 is only wetted by the medium.
- the writing tip 40 is formed of porous material. It is supplied with the medium by the medium from the working chamber 11 a, ie from the front end of the valve housing, capillary in the writing tip 40 progresses to the free end of the writing tip 40. About the calibrated guide slot, the outside of the writing tip 40 with the Medium so just wetted. The bulk of the media is provided at the writing tip 40 via the capillary mass transport through the porous writing tip.
- the flow rate of the medium to the writing tip 40 can thus be varied by moving the writing tip 40 during writing and adjusted variably. This makes it possible to vary the amount of medium discharge during writing by corresponding pressure on the writing tip 40.
- the variably adjustable metering gap in the rear valve housing 32 the medium flows through the slots formed in the rear valve housing 32s.
- Refill medium from the reservoir 11v in the working space 11a is provided primarily that the device is shaken in an up and down movement.
- the refilling can also take place in that the writing tip 40 is fully retracted into the sleeve 12, in the position as in FIG. 2 is shown.
- the rear free end 33f of the plunger 33 engages in the through hole 21 and lifts the resting on the ball seat 23 ball 22 so that medium can flow through the through hole 21 unhindered from the storage space 11v. Due to the cross-shaped or star-shaped cross section of the plunger 33, a sufficient flow is ensured.
- the first commissioning takes place in the same way as in FIG. 2 Refill shown, ie the writing tip 40 is fully retracted, so that the plunger end engages in the through hole 21 of the intermediate wall 20 and the closure and mixing balls 22 lifts.
- a film skin 20fh formed there before the initial startup is pierced.
- the film skin 20fh is in FIG. 1 recognizable. It is arranged on the working space 11 a facing the mouth of the through hole 21.
- the film skin 20fh can also be arranged within the through hole 21 in a modified embodiment. In the illustrated case, the film skin 20fh is formed in the intersection of the through-hole 21 with a plane parallel to the central median plane of the intermediate wall below the ball seat.
- the film skin is formed in the region of the ball seat 23, preferably as a unit with the ball seat 23 in the region of the narrowest cross section of the ball seat 23, ie in the mouth region of the ball seat, where the through hole of the ball seat in that Through hole 21 of the intermediate wall 20 opens.
- the film skin 20fh may be disposed within the through hole 21 of the intermediate wall 20. It is also possible to arrange a plurality of film skins 20fh in parallel planes. In any case, preferably only the storage space 11v is filled with medium before the initial start-up. The film skin 21fh tightly seals the storage space 11 prior to initial startup.
- the film skin is protected from unintentional damage prior to initial start-up.
- the user can also recognize whether the medium in the storage space 11v is in a writable state. If the device is stored for long periods in non-use position, the color pigments settle on one side in the storage room. Incident light is then absorbed to varying degrees in the slot-shaped transparent areas. The medium, seen through the two slit-shaped transparent areas, then appears differently colored to the viewer. To produce a uniform mixing, the user can then shake the device until the color pigments are stirred up and again evenly distributed in the binder. He can observe this mixing process and the state of mixing through the transparent slots. As soon as the uniform mixing is achieved, the medium appears as the same color in the two slit-shaped transparent areas.
- FIG. 3 it is a modified embodiment, which is compared to the embodiment in the FIGS. 1 and 2 only differs in that in addition a mixing and closure ball 22 is also arranged in the working space 11a and that in the intermediate wall 20 in the region of the through hole 21 corresponding to the work space 11a side facing a ball seat 23 is formed. Said additional mixing and / or closing ball 22 is in FIG. 3 disposed in the rear portion of the working space 11 a between the rear valve housing 32 and the intermediate wall 20.
- Embodiment is in an overhead position of the valve marker, that is, when the valve flag is held in the writing position so that the free end of the writing tip 40 in the vertical direction facing upward, prevents the medium from the working space 11a flows back into the reservoir 11v.
- This prevention of the backflow is realized in that in the overhead position the ball located in the working space 11a 22 rests on the ball seat 23 of the through hole 21.
- a cage is arranged on the intermediate wall 20 in the working space 11 a.
- This cage has at its front end an opening through which the rear end of the plunger 33 can be inserted.
- this cage there is a sealing body, which is movably guided within the cage in up and Abides.
- This sealing body has a tappet-shaped end which can engage in the through hole 21 of the intermediate wall 20.
- the sealing body in the cage fulfills the same function as the freely movable mixing and closing ball 22 in the working space 11a; i.e. the sealing body in the cage prevents backflow of the medium from the working space 11a into the storage space 11v when the device is held in an overhead position.
- the cage serves only to ensure the position and orientation of the pestle-shaped end of the sealing body with respect to the through hole.
- a mixing body formed of grid material or other permeable material may also be arranged in piston-like manner in the working space 11a.
- this mixing body in its center the Through hole of the intermediate wall facing a complementary with the through hole sealing body.
- the permeable grating material of the mixing body causes a flow and thereby a mixing of the medium in the working space 11a.
- the closure body attached to the mixing body at the center engages the through hole 21 of the intermediate wall 20 and closes the through hole 21 so that the medium can not flow back from the working space 11a into the reservoir 11v.
- the closure body may additionally have a tip at its free end in order to pierce a film skin 20fh closing the through-hole 21 during initial startup. This can be done by the user in that the writing tip 40 is fully retracted and is moved with the plunger end of the valve closure body of the piston-shaped mixing body to the rear wall to the intermediate wall. In this case, the closure body engages with its pointed end in the through hole 21 and pierces the film skin 20fh.
- valve seat 30s is not disposed at the rear end of the front valve housing 31 but at the rear end of the rear valve housing 32 and the conical valve closure surface 33k is formed at a valve closure portion 33v separate from the cylindrical closure portion 33z.
- This separate valve closure portion 33v is formed at the rear end of the plunger 33 as a thickened portion of the leading end of the plunger 33 protruding from the guide hole 32f of the rear end of the valve housing 32.
- the valve seat 30s is at the rear end end of the rear valve housing 32 in the region of Guide hole 32 f formed, on the intermediate wall 20 side facing.
- FIG. 4 is the valve seat 30s closed with the valve closure surface 33k closed.
- the plunger 33 is moved under the action of the return spring 34 to the front in a position in which the writing tip 40 is extended from the sleeve 12.
- the writing tip 40 by corresponding contact pressure against the action of the return spring 34 with respect to the position in FIG. 4 moved backwards, whereby the closure body 33v lifts off the valve seat 30s and the valve is open.
- the metering function of the valve via the metering edge 33r of the cylindrical portion 33z to form the Dosierringspalts with the conical inner edge 32i in the same manner as in the embodiments in the FIGS. 1 and 2 ,
- the valve housing is also in FIG.
- the rear valve housing 32 also has a conical inner wall 32i which cooperates for metering the medium with the metering edge of the cylindrical portion 32z.
- the rear valve housing 32 has, in contrast to the embodiment of FIGS. 1 and 2 but no slots 32s, but a closed wall. In contrast to the embodiment of the FIGS. 1 and 2 takes place in the embodiment in FIG. 4 only with open valve seat 30s in the valve housing an inflow of medium.
- FIG. 4 Another difference over the embodiment of the FIGS. 1 and 2 is that in FIG. 4 on the valve closure portion of the plunger 33, which cooperates with the valve seat 30s, a mixing device 33m is arranged. It is designed in the manner of a spoked wheel.
- the cylindrical body of the valve closure portion effectively forms the hub which carries the spoked wheel rigidly attached.
- the outer diameter of the spoked wheel is slightly smaller than the inner diameter of the cylindrical working space 11a.
