Description

The invention relates to a roller equipped with a braking system. It will find its application in an industrial environment, at the manufacturers of sports equipment, in particular the manufacturers of rollers, and will be marketed especially in the sales areas of sports equipment.

It is known in particular two types of rollers, namely in-line rollers consisting of three or four wheels arranged in line one behind the other, and rollers, more commonly called roller skate, type "quad" is that is to say consist of two transverse axes of rotation, one disposed upstream and the other downstream of the roller, each axis receiving at both ends a wheel. In addition, according to these two types of rollers, these comprise a frame consisting of a longitudinal plate on which are mounted in line the rolling elements that is to say the wheels or pairs of wheels arranged in line. In addition, the frame includes a foot locking device for securing it with the roller. This foot locking device may be, for example, consisting of a footwear element allowing either the reception of the foot, or the blocking of a suitable shoe and worn on the skater's foot.

DE 29709662 U1 as the state of the art closest to the subject of claim 1 discloses a roller comprising a frame, at least two rolling elements mounted in line on the frame and a braking system, each rolling member comprising at least one wheel mounted on a transverse axis of rotation, said braking system comprising at least one braking element arranged near at least one of the rolling elements and able to come into contact with the wheel thereof to brake the roller, said frame comprising a plate which receives the rolling elements and a footwear element which is arranged on the plate for receiving a foot or a shoe of the skater, said footwear element being provided with an actuating device during skating, the braking.

In addition, those skilled in the field of the invention are aware of rollers equipped with a braking system whose operating principle is as described in the document FR 2 753 106 . As such, the roller described in the document FR 2 753 106 comprises a plate on which wheels are mounted in line; a braking system, comprising a braking element of the shoe type, or even roller, is arranged under the plate, above at least one of the wheels, in particular at the rear. In addition, according to this design, an actuating device consists of a rod comprising at least two parts articulated to each other at the level of the malleoli, along an axis of transverse pivoting, the first part enveloping at least the heel of the foot and the second part enveloping at least the lower portion of the calf, said second part of the shaft being able to pivot relative to said first part to activate the braking system allowing the vertical displacement of the braking pad to bring it into contact with the rear wheel or wheels of the roller and to brake them. Such a braking system presents a risk for the user, especially when the latter does not control the braking, and in particular the movement of his leg actuating said second portion of the rod which acts on the braking system. According to such a design of roller, the user does not have optimal stability, it can tilt forward; therefore, there is a risk of falling the skater during braking.

The object of the present invention is to implement a rollering roller including the disadvantages described above for the design of rollers similar to those described in the document FR 2 753 106 . As such, the invention relates to a roller, also known as roller skate, for self-regulating braking. When the skater moves forward, heel pressure decreases, reducing braking efficiency and preventing forward imbalance.

The roller comprises a frame, at least two rolling elements mounted in line on the chassis, and a roller braking system. The rolling elements each comprise at least one wheel which is rotatably mounted on a transverse axis. The braking system comprises at least one braking element, in particular a pad or a roller, arranged close to at least one of the rolling elements, the braking element being able to come into contact with the wheel of this element. rolling to brake the roller. The chassis comprises a plate arranged to receive the rolling elements, in particular the axes of rotation of the wheels which are mounted transversely, or even said wheels, these being notably housed inside the plate in the case where the roller includes four wheels in line. Furthermore, a footwear element is arranged above the plate, the latter being adapted to receive a foot or a shoe of the skater. This footwear element is provided with an actuating device during slippage of the braking system, the activation of the actuating device during slippage making it possible to act on the braking system to brake the roller.

Remarkably, the braking system comprises a support piece of the braking element. This support piece is slidably mounted relative to the plate to translate under the action of the weight of the skater, the braking element of a position released from the wheel or wheels, to a position of contact with them, or inversely when the weight action of the skater stops. Furthermore, the braking system comprises a transmission device moving from a passive position to an active position during slippage, or vice versa, under the action of the actuating device. This transmission device is arranged, on the one hand, to maintain release braking element vis-à-vis the wheel in the passive position regardless of the action of the weight exerted by the skater and, secondly, for allow the sliding of the support member relative to the frame in the active position according to which the transmission device is able to bear on the support piece under the weight of the skater exerting pressure with the heel, to allow the sliding of the support piece and thus the braking of the roller.

Thus, the action of the weight exerted by the skater on the transmission device has no effect on the support piece of the braking element until said transmission device has not been activated beforehand by the actuating device. . It is therefore only during a voluntary and controlled action of the skater, when it acts on the actuating device, that the transmission device in the active position can be actuated under the action of the weight of the skater to translate the support piece subject to the braking element. This guarantees perfect control during braking.

Preferably, the transmission device comprises a pusher element arranged on the plate. This pusher element is able to move vertically under the action of a force exerted by the heel of the skater, when the transmission device is in the active position, said pusher element then acting directly or indirectly on the support piece to push it and make it slide down.

In addition, the transmission device comprises at least one cam and a connecting element, said connecting element being connected between the cam and the actuating device. This cam is movable with respect to the plate and the support piece, so as to be moved from a passive position to an active position when the connecting element is actuated by the actuating device. Depending on the active position of the cam, the pusher member is capable of moving downwardly and acting on the support member, when the skater pushes on said pusher member with the heel; the support piece then slides vertically, driving the braking element which comes into contact with the wheel of the rolling element.

In a preferential and nonlimiting manner, the braking element consists of a roller. This roller also has a profile arranged to have at least two points of contact with the wheel; these contact points are located at different radii, which makes it possible to exert a direct friction by friction between the roller and the wheel.

In a preferential and nonlimiting manner, the actuating device of the braking system consists of a rod which comprises at least two parts hinged together, particularly at the level of the malleoli, along a transverse axis of pivoting. The first part wraps at least the heel of the foot, or even the rear part of the footwear element receiving the foot or shoe. The second portion envelopes at least the lower portion of the calf and, preferably, also the lower portion of the tibia. The pivoting of the second part of the stem during a movement of the leg makes it possible to actuate the braking system. According to a variant, this actuating device may consist of a connecting piece arranged under the front end of the footwear element or the boot, this connecting piece being connected to the braking system to act on it. .

According to a first design mode of the roller, it comprises four wheels mounted in line one behind the other on the plate, the braking system comprising a braking element which is able to come into contact with the two rear wheels of the roller .

According to a variant of roller design, according to which said roller is more commonly called roller skate, or even roller "quad", it comprises two pairs of wheels arranged at the front and rear ends of the plate. In addition, the braking system comprises two braking elements each arranged at the level of the pair of rear wheels to come into contact therewith under the action of the braking system activated by the actuating device.

Other features of the present invention will appear on reading the description which follows, in support of figures among which:
  • the figure 1 partially represents an overview of the components of the roller, according to a preferred mode of design;
  • the figure 2 represents a detailed sectional view of a preferred mode of design of the roller brake system;
  • the figure 3 represents an overview of the braking system as illustrated in figure 2 ;
  • the figure 4 represents a partial view of the elements constituting the braking system according to the figures 2 and 3 ;
  • the figure 5 schematizes an alternative design of the roller braking system.

This frame 3 comprises in particular a plate 11 having a longitudinal shape, preferably as illustrated in FIG. figure 1 , this plate 11 being arranged to receive rolling elements 5, 7 whose design may vary. Indeed, as illustrated on Figures 1 to 5 , corresponding to a preferred mode of design of the roller, it comprises four wheels 5a, 7a, 8a, 10a arranged in line one behind the other, these wheels being mounted in rotation along a transverse axis of rotation 12 on the plate 11 However, it is possible to envisage an alternative design of the roller according to which the rolling elements 5, 7 consist of a pair of wheels mounted in rotation along an axis, or even two coaxial axes, on the lateral sides of the plate, said pairs of wheels being mounted in line on the plate at its front and rear ends. According to this variant, roller is more commonly referred to as roller skate or "quad" roller.

In addition, the roller 1 comprises a braking system 9. This braking system 9 comprises in particular a braking element 31. When the roller 1 has a design as illustrated in FIGS. Figures 1 to 5 , this braking element 21 consists of a single roller 21a which is arranged at the rear end of the plate 11, and disposed above the rear wheels 5a, 7a, the roller 21a being adapted to come into contact with the wheels 5a, 7a. Furthermore, this roller 21a is rotatably mounted relative to the plate 11 and is arranged to come into direct contact on the two rear wheels 5a, 7a without the use of complementary means for braking said roller 21a when it comes into contact with the wheels. For this, the roller 21a has a profile which is arranged to have at least two points of contact with each of the wheels 5a, 7a, these two points of contact on the wheel 5a, as well as on the wheel 7a, being located at radii different, which allows to exert a direct friction by friction between the roller and each wheel, friction friction causing the braking of said wheels 5a, 7a and thus the braking of the roller. According to a variant of roller design, when it comprises two pairs of wheels arranged in line at the front and rear ends on the plate 11, the braking element 21 is then constituted by two rollers arranged above each of the rear wheels, these rollers also comprising an arranged profile to present at least two points of contact on each of the two rear wheels, these contact points being located at different radii to also exert direct friction by friction between the rollers and the wheels.

As illustrated on Figures 1, 2 and 5 , the chassis 3 comprises a footwear element 13 which is arranged above the plate 11. This footwear element is arranged to receive a shoe adapted to the skater's foot. For this, the footwear element13 comprises means for fixing the shoe of the skater on the plate 11. It is however possible to design a footwear element formed directly by a shoe for receiving the foot of the skater. The footwear element is provided with an actuating device which is arranged to act on the braking system 9, for actuating the braking roller 21a and putting it in contact with the wheel or wheels 5a, 7a.

According to the design of the roller 1 shown in Figures 1 to 5 , the actuating device of the braking system consists of at least two parts 15 and 17 hinged together. The first lower portion 15 is integral with the plate 11 and is disposed at its rear end; this lower part 15 is in particular arranged to envelop the heel, that is to say, it receives the rear part of the shoe fixed on the plate 11. Moreover, the second upper portion 17 is articulated with the lower part 15 , the articulation being along a pivot axis 19 positioned in particular at the malleoli of the skater's ankle. In addition, this second portion 17 is arranged to wrap preferably the lower portion of the calf, and the lower portion of the tibia. When the second upper portion 17 pivots with respect to the first lower portion 15, said pivoting makes it possible to actuate the braking system 9 as will be described below.

The braking system 9 comprises a support piece 23 on which the braking element 11 is fixed. With regard to the design mode illustrated in FIGS. Figures 1 to 5 , the braking roller 21a is arranged at the lower end of this support piece 23. For this, the support member 23 receives the roller 21a rotatably mounted thereon at a pivot axis 24 arranged at level of its lower end. Furthermore, this support piece 23 is slidably mounted relative to the plate 11, said sliding preferably for vertically translating the braking element from a first position in which the wheels 5a, 7a are disengaged towards a second position. according to which it is in contact with said wheels, or conversely. Thus, when the support piece 23 is translated upwards, the roller 21a is disengaged from the wheels 5a, 7a. On the contrary, when the support piece 23 is translated downwards, said roller is in contact with said wheels 5a, 7a. When the roller is of the "quad" type, that is to say consisting of pairs of wheels arranged at the front and rear ends on the plate 11, this support piece 23 is able to support the two braking rollers so as to simultaneously translate from a position released relative to the rear wheels, when said support member 23 is translated upwards, to a contact position of the rollers with the rear wheels, when said support member 23 is translated downwards.

Furthermore, the braking system 9 comprises a transmission device 25 making it possible to slide the support piece 23. For this purpose, the transmission device 25 is able to move in two positions, namely a first passive position according to which the braking roller is kept free vis-à-vis the wheels 5a, 7a, and a second active position in which said transmission device allows the sliding of the support member 23 relative to the frame 3 or the plate 11. In this active position, the transmission device 25 is able to bear on the support piece 23 under the action exerted by the weight of the skater, said support for sliding the support member 23 downwards.

The Figures 1 to 4 illustrate a mode of design of this transmission device 25. This comprises a pusher element 41 which is arranged on the plate 11 to move vertically under the action of a force exerted by the heel of the skater. However, this vertical displacement of the pusher element 41 is possible when the transmission device 25 is in the active position; the pusher element 41 is then able to act on the support piece 23 to push it downwards and make it slide causing the roller 21a to move. Thus, the skater is capable of controlling braking by exerting a greater or lesser thrust on this pusher element.

This pusher element 41 comprises a plate 45 on which the heel of the skater, or even the heel of the shoe is capable of pressing. For this, the plate 45 is arranged above the plate 11 and positioned in the upstream upper part thereof under the footwear element. Furthermore, the pusher element 41 comprises a vertical body 47, extending downwardly the plate 45, the plate 45 and the vertical body 47 can consist of a single piece or two pieces joined together. This vertical body 47 is arranged to pass through the upstream upper part of the plate 11 and to act on the support piece 23 when the heel exerts a bearing force on the plate 45.

In addition, the pusher element 41 comprises a return system 49 of the plate 45. This return system 49 is arranged to retract the vertical body 47 inside the plate 11 and stop any action on the support piece 23 when the skater stops pressing on said plate 45. This return system 49 is preferably constituted by a spring element having a toroidal shape as illustrated in FIG. figure 3 this spring element being preferably made in a deformable flexible foam and able to return to its initial shape when the pressure exerted on the plate 45 ceases, which then makes it possible to exert an upward thrust on said plate 45 by means of the foam ring element.

The transmission device 25 comprises a cam 27 and a connecting element 29, this connecting element 29 connecting the cam 27 to the actuating device, in particular the second upper part 17, as illustrated in FIG. figure 1 . This cam 27 is movable vis-à-vis the plate 11 and the support part 23. According to the mode illustrated on the Figures 1 to 4 , the cam 27 is mounted in longitudinal translation inside the plate 11 which is arranged to receive said element. In addition, this cam 27 is disposed above the support piece 23. As illustrated on the figures 2 and 3 the cam 27 comprises a flexible blade 39 which bears on the upper end 44 of the support part 23. This flexible blade 39 is rigid and slightly deformable at its proximal end 40 while, on the contrary, its distal end 42 is flexible or flexible, which allows to deform and move it down. Thus, the longitudinal translation of the cam 27 under the plate 11 obtained, under the action of the actuating device which exerts a thrust on the connecting element 29, moves said cam 27 in two positions. According to the first so-called passive position, according to which the proximal end 40 of the lamella 39 rests on the upper end 44 of the support piece, the rigidity of the lamella 39 at this proximal end 40 prevents it from acting on said support member 23. Conversely, according to the second translated position of the cam 27 on the plate 11, so-called active position, in which the distal end 42 of the flexible strip 39 is in contact on the upper end 44 of the part 23, this distal end 42 is adapted to be deformed and moved downwards, the support exerted by this plate 39 on the support piece 23 then allowing the sliding thereof down, and thus the implementation contact of the roller 21a on the wheels 5a, 7a to brake the roller 1.

According to a preferred design of the braking system 9, the cam illustrated on the figure 5 , is pivotally mounted relative to the plate 11 along a transverse pivot axis 58, parallel to that of the axis of rotation 12 of the wheels 5a, 7a. This cam 60 is preferably disposed below the support member 23 and is arranged to bear on the lower end 62 thereof, for example at the axis of rotation 24 of the braking roller 21a. The cam 60 is arranged to pivot from a passive position to an active position, or vice versa. When the actuating device is released, the cam 60 is supported on the lower end 62 of the support piece 23, while preventing it from sliding vertically downwards under a possible force exerted by the skater with the heel which tends to translate downwardly the pusher element 41 resting on the upper end of the support part 23. Conversely, when the actuating device is engaged, the latter causes the pivoting of the cam 60 which passes through the active position according to which said cam 60 is disengaged with respect to the lower end 62 of the support piece 23, then allowing it to translate downwards when a thrust is exerted by the heel of the skater on the plate 45 of the pusher element 41 which translates downwards by bearing on the upper end of the support piece 23, the latter then sliding downwards, which makes it possible to bring the roller into contact with the wheels 5a, 5b.

As illustrated on the figure 5 , the cam 60, according to this embodiment, comprises a curved shape arranged so that, when said cam 60 is in the passive position, the first end 64 of the curved portion 66 is in contact on the support piece 23, and vice versa when the cam 60 is in its active position, the second end 68 of the curved portion 66 disengages it from the lower end 62 of the support member 23, thereby allowing the element push button 41 to act on said support member 23. According to this design, the cam 60 preferably has a non-limiting element of a return element for pivoting said cam 60 towards its passive position when the actuating device is released. and that the skater stops acting with the heel on the pusher element 41. The operating principle is as follows: when the skater releases the actuating device, allowing the cam 60 to return to its initial passive position, the pusher element 41 remains in abutment on the support piece 23 as long as the skater maintains a thrust on the plate 45 of the pusher element 41, the cam 60 remaining in this case in the active position, although the actuating device is released; the roller 21a therefore remains in contact with the wheels 5a, 7a despite the release of the actuating device. When the skater then releases the plate 45 of the pusher element 41, it then returns to its initial position under the effect of the return system 49 of said pusher element; the body 47 is then retracted inside the plate and therefore emerges from the support part 23, which allows the cam 60 to return to its passive position under the action of the return system.

Indeed, when the cam 27 implemented is as illustrated in FIGS. Figures 1 to 4 , the pusher element 41 acts indirectly on the upper end 44 of the support piece 23, through the flexible blade 39 of the cam 27.

Dans ce cas, le corps vertical 47 peut être constitué directement par la pièce support 23, tel qu'illustré en figure 5.When the cam 60 implemented is as illustrated on the figure 5 , this acting on the lower end 62 of the support member 23, said support member has, for example, at its upper end a bearing surface arranged to receive directly the lower end 70 of the vertical body 47 of the pusher element. However, it is possible to design the pusher element 41 and the support piece 23 in one piece according to this second design mode, because said elements are in direct contact. In this case, the vertical body 47 can be constituted directly by the support piece 23, as illustrated in FIG. figure 5 .

In addition, it is possible to provide a return element on the support member 23, such as for example a spring arranged at the vertical translation connection of said support member 23 with the plate 11. This return element is arranged to allow translation vertical upwards of the support member 23 to disengage the braking member 21 of the wheel 5a, 7a when the pusher 41 stops acting on the upper end 44 of said support member 23 and the cam 27 is moved in passive position. This reminder element remains optional; in fact, when the skater stops exerting a thrust on the pusher element 41, the latter then ceases to act on the support piece 23, and that the cam 27 is in the passive position, the roller 21 tends to to disengage naturally upwards vis-a-vis the wheels 5a, 7a.

It is possible to envisage a variant of the design of the actuating device, in particular implemented when the footwear element consists of a shoe arranged above the plate, said shoe further comprising a fixed soleplate screw-to -vis the plate on the entire rear part, and remaining free vis-à-vis its front end at the toes, so as to maintain freedom of movement of the sole at its front end. The actuating device is then constituted, according to this design, a connecting piece arranged under the front end of the sole, this connecting piece being connected to the cam 27 via the element of link 29 which, in this case, is arranged under the plate 11 extending longitudinally forwards so as to connect said connecting piece and the cam 27. Thus, when the skater exerts an action with the toes to lift the the front end of the sole, the connecting piece tends to shift upwards and drive the cam 27 through the connecting member 29, said cam then moving into its active position.

The plate 11 is arranged to receive the elements of the braking system 9 and has, in addition, housing for the reception of the wheels 5a, 7a, 8a, 10a of the roller, when it consists of four wheels in line such that 'illustrated on the Figures 1 to 5 .
