Description

12 genannten Merkmalen. Diese Merkmale sind aus DE 93 16 759 U bekannt. The invention relates to a coating device for wet painting for elongated workpieces and a method for coating by wet painting elongated workpieces according to the features mentioned in the preamble of claims 1 and 12 respectively. These features are out DE 93 16 759 U known.

Elongated workpieces such as beams or boards, which may consist of different materials, in particular wood, are coated in industrial processes. The coating is done, for example, with paint. This is a paint diluted with water, solvent or the like, which is applied in particular to the elongated workpiece via spray nozzles. After application, the paint dries out due to evaporation. Since the elongated workpiece is in particular beams or boards made of wood or plastic, heating of the workpieces is possible only within narrow limits. In such workpieces is thus a conventional powder coating, in which a strong heating of the workpieces for melting the powder material is required, not possible.

For industrial coating of elongated workpieces coating devices are known in which the to be coated Workpiece is moved by means of a conveyor in the longitudinal direction of the workpiece. The conveyor has, for example driven rollers, belts or the like, so that a movement of the workpieces in the longitudinal direction at high speed is possible. Due to the very high speeds, an economical coating of the elongated workpieces by wet painting is possible. In this case, transport speeds of the elongated workpieces of over 3 m / min, in particular over 15 m / min and sometimes even over 30 m / min realized.

For coating individual or all upper sides of the workpiece, the workpiece is passed through a coating frame. The coating frame has a cross section which is slightly larger than the cross section of the workpiece to be coated. Usually, the coating frame completely surrounds the workpiece. For coating, at least one coating nozzle is arranged in the coating frame. The coating die is typically a slot die which extends in the coating frame over the side of the workpiece to be coated. In the case of an all-round coating of the workpiece, the coating nozzle completely surrounds the workpiece. Possibly. In addition, a suction chamber is provided to which in particular negative pressure is applied. The suction chamber, which may preferably also be frame-shaped, also completely surrounds the workpiece. Excess coating medium, such as excess coating lacquer, is suctioned off via the suction chamber.

In special cases, a discontinuous transport of the workpieces takes place. In a discontinuous promotion of the elongated workpiece is an uneven coating. If, for example, the workpiece is stopped for a short time or moved more slowly, a light streak can be produced on the upper sides of the workpiece to be coated, since too much coating medium is sucked out through the suction chamber becomes. It is also possible that an overcoating occurs in this case, since further coating medium is supplied through the coating nozzle and this is not completely dissipated. It is also not possible, at the moment of stoppage or slower movement of the workpiece, to switch off the pump supplying the coating medium to the coating nozzle, since there is still coating medium within the coating frame, which then deposits on the workpiece, so that in this case too an overcoating occurs can be done. In order to reduce the risk of the formation of light streaks or overcoats, it would be necessary to determine and regulate the amount of medium supplied and the amount of extracted medium by means of highly sensitive control. Such a scheme would be extremely expensive.

The object of the invention is to provide a coating apparatus for elongate workpieces, as well as a method for coating elongate workpieces, is realized by or through which a uniform coating of the elongated workpiece.

The object is achieved by a coating device according to claim 1 or by a coating method according to claim 12.

According to the invention, the coating device for applying coating medium, which is a wet paint, ie, a water-soluble or solvent-provided paint, an application device, which is connected to a movement device. This makes it possible to move the application device in the longitudinal direction of the workpiece in order to ensure that the coating is uniform realize. The application device has a coating frame which surrounds the workpiece at least partially, in particular completely, wherein the coating frame has at least one preferably a plurality of nozzles which are directed in the direction of the workpiece. In order to coat economically large quantities of elongate workpieces by wet painting, the elongate workpieces, which are in particular wooden boards or beams, are moved via a conveyor in the workpiece longitudinal direction at high speed. In addition, according to the invention, the application device is moved. The application device, which in particular also moves in the longitudinal direction of the workpiece, preferably performs a reciprocating motion is thus on the one hand in the same direction as the workpiece, but at a lower speed, on the other hand moves in the opposite direction. In this case, the workpiece is moved by the conveyor at a speed of preferably more than 3 m / min, in particular more than 15 m / min and more preferably more than 30 m / min. The movement of the application device is significantly slower in this case, in particular, the maximum speed of the application device is less than 5%, in particular less than 2% of the movement speed of the workpiece. By combining the movement of the workpiece in the longitudinal direction at high speed and the movement of the applicator, an extremely uniform coating with wet paint and thus a high optical demand can be achieved. At the same time, extremely economical production of large quantities of elongate workpieces is possible. In particular, such high optical demands can be ensured even in the case of a discontinuous delivery of the elongated workpiece, for example due to short-term disturbances.

In the following, the invention will be described with reference to a preferred embodiment of the invention, in which the applicator has a coating frame according to the invention.

According to the invention, the coating frame of the coating device for elongate tools is connected to a movement device. This makes it possible to move the coating frame and thus the at least one arranged within the coating frame coating nozzle in the longitudinal direction. It is thus possible to move the coating frame in the longitudinal direction in addition to moving the workpiece in its longitudinal direction. In this case, a movement of the coating frame in the conveying direction or against the conveying direction of the workpiece can take place. In particular, a reciprocating motion or a pendulum movement of the coating frame can take place. This has the advantage in the case of a discontinuous conveying of workpiece carriers that, by appropriately moving the coating frame, excessive application of coating medium or else excessive suction of the coating medium and the light stripes caused thereby can be avoided. Even if, due to the discontinuous conveyance of the workpiece, it is more strongly coated in individual areas, moving the coating frame has the advantage that the somewhat thicker coating takes place over a larger area and thus the excess coating material is better distributed. The coating thickness thus increases only slightly and is not visible to the eye.

Even with a continuous delivery of the workpiece, it is advantageous to use the coating device according to the invention with a displaceable coating frame, since, for example, a pendulum movement of the coating frame can result in a multi-layer application.

Preferably, the moving means is connected to a control means for reciprocating the moving frame. This may be a purely mechanical control device. However, it may also in addition or instead of the mechanical control device a be provided electronic control device. In particular, the control device comprises a pneumatic or hydraulic cylinder which is connected to the coating frame. By a corresponding control of the cylinder, for example, a regular pendulum movement of the coating frame but also a short-term moving of the coating frame in a discontinuous conveying of the workpiece is possible. Instead of or in addition to a pneumatic and / or hydraulic cylinder, the control device may for example also have a toothed rack which is fixedly connected to the movement frame, wherein then engages a driven by an electric motor gear in the rack for moving the coating frame.

The coating frame preferably has a slide guide. This ensures that the coating frame is not tilted or twisted when moving. This is necessary to ensure that the gap between the coating frame and workpiece remains as constant as possible and in particular a touching of the workpiece when moving the coating frame is avoided.

Preferably, the coating frame not only has a coating nozzle designed as a slot nozzle, which preferably completely surrounds the workpiece, but it is additionally provided a suction chamber. The suction chamber, which is preferably connected to a vacuum pump, serves to suck off excess coating material and is preferably arranged immediately adjacent to the coating nozzle. In the case of a circulating, self-contained coating nozzle, it is also preferable to design the suction chamber in a correspondingly circumferential manner.

The inventive method for coating elongated workpieces by wet painting, which is stirred in a preferred embodiment by means of the coating device described above, moving the workpiece takes place in the longitudinal direction. The workpiece is coated by means of a coating frame which at least partially surrounds the workpiece and which has a coating nozzle or another application coating. According to the invention, the coating frame is moved in the longitudinal direction of the workpiece during coating. In this case, the coating frame can be moved in or against the conveying direction of the workpiece. Preferably, the coating frame is thus moved relative to the workpiece. It is possible, for example, to control the movement of the movement frame during a discontinuous movement of the workpiece in such a way that the relative speed between the workpiece and the coating frame remains constant, in particular over the entire coating process. Preferably, the coating frame is moved discontinuously. In particular, the motion frame performs a reciprocating motion or a pendulum motion. As a result of the method according to the invention, in addition to the movement of the elongate workpiece at high speed, the application device is moved, in particular likewise in the longitudinal direction of the workpiece. As a result, as described above with reference to the device, by wet painting in particular of wooden boards and the like optically high-quality surfaces can be realized.

The method according to the invention is preferably further developed as described above with reference to the device according to the invention.

In particular, the coating apparatus according to the invention and the method according to the invention also have the advantage that less waste is produced in the event of a plant stop. This is due to the movement of the applicator, since in an at least a short stop of the plant no too thick layer application takes place and also a growth of the applicator, in particular the nozzle over a longer period can be avoided.

The invention will be explained in more detail with reference to a preferred embodiment with reference to the accompanying drawings.

An elongated workpiece 10, which in the illustrated embodiment is a bar, is moved in the longitudinal direction in the direction of an arrow 12. The movement takes place by means of a conveying device 14, which has a plurality of at least partially driven rollers in the illustrated embodiment. Here, the elongate workpiece 10 is conveyed at high speed during the entire coating process.

For coating the outer sides of the workpiece, a coating frame 16 is provided, wherein in the illustrated embodiment, the coating frame 16 completely surrounds the workpiece and has an opening which has the same outer contour as the workpiece 10. Here, the opening is slightly larger than the cross section of the workpiece 10, so that a small gap 18 is formed on all sides of the workpiece between this and the coating frame. For coating the workpiece 10 by wet painting, this passes through the coating frame 16 in the direction of the arrow 12.

The coating frame 16 has in the illustrated embodiment, a circumferential slot 20. This is connected to a plurality of supply lines 22 for supplying the coating medium such as paint. The supply lines 22 are connected to a reservoir 24, wherein the supply of the coating medium by means of a pump 26 takes place.

Immediately adjacent to the slot nozzle 20, a circumferential suction chamber 28 is provided within the coating frame 16. In the chamber 28, a negative pressure is generated by a pump 30. For this purpose, the pump 30 is connected via a hose 30 to the suction chamber 28. The extracted via the suction chamber 28 excess coating medium is conveyed by the pump 30 back into the reservoir 24. Possibly. Here is a corresponding separator interposed.

According to the invention, the coating frame 16 is connected to a movement device 34 so that the coating frame 16 can be moved back and forth in the direction of an arrow 36. The movement of the coating frame 16 takes place here in the longitudinal direction of the workpiece 10, that is to say in the conveying direction 12 of the workpiece 10 or counter to the conveying direction.

To move the coating frame 16, the movement device in the illustrated embodiment, a hydraulic and / or pneumatic cylinder 38. In the illustrated embodiment, the piston of the cylinder 38 is directly connected to the coating frame 16. By means of a control device 40, the hydraulic or pneumatic medium is supplied and removed to the chamber of the cylinder 38. In this case, the control device 40 can in particular also have electronic components that are possibly connected to sensors which, for example, measure the movement speed of the workpiece 10 and / or. or measure the amount of coating medium pumped and / or the amount of coating medium recycled.

For reciprocating the coating frame 16 in the direction of an arrow 36, this is guided via a slide guide 42. The slide guide 42 has in particular two mutually parallel tubular guide elements 44, against which two, a concave surface having rollers 46. The two pairs of rollers 46, each cooperating with a cylindrical guide element 44, are arranged in a holding element 48 connected to the frame 16.

The combination according to the invention of moving the workpiece in the longitudinal direction, in particular at high speed, in conjunction with a movement of the coating frame 16 in the longitudinal direction, leads to high-quality surfaces.
