Claims (16)

  1. A stopper device for stopping a container (B) having a neck (C) of axis Δ, said device comprising:
    • an elastomer stopper (2);
    • a a cover (10) made of a plastics material that is suitable for covering both the neck (C) and the stopper (2) in place in the neck (C), and that is provided with locking means (11) for locking it to the neck (C); and
    • a cap (30) that fits over the top of the cover (10) by means of a central stud (31) and that is provided with a peripheral press rim (32) connected to the central stud via at least one connecting web, characterized in that firstly the connecting web is elastically deformable in a manner such that, under the effect of an axial force, it enables the press rim to be moved axially from a raised position (R) towards a lowered position (A) via an intermediate position (I), and secondly, over a first deformation range, corresponding to the press rim being moved from the raised position (R) to the intermediate position (I), said connecting web has a stiffness K1 greater than the stiffness K2 of the web over a second deformation range corresponding to the press rim being moved from the intermediate position (I) to the lowered position (A).
  2. A device according to claim 1, characterized in that the connecting web (33) is adapted so that, while the press rim (32) is moving from the raised position (R), said press rim exerts an increasing reaction that decreases after it has reached a maximum value at the intermediate position.
  3. A device according to claim 1 or claim 2, characterized in that the value of the axial force to be applied to the press rim (32) of the cap (30) in order to cause it to go from its raised position (R) to its intermediate position (I) is greater than the force necessary for engaging the stopper (2) into the neck (C) of the container (B) with the cover (10) being locked to the neck.
  4. A device according to any one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that only the raised position (R) of the press rim (32) is a stable position so that, in the event that the axial force ceases to be applied, the press rim (32) returns automatically to its raised position.
  5. A device according to any one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that only the raised position (R) and the lowered position (A) are stable positions.
  6. A device according to any one of claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the locking means comprise a ring (11) that is placed at least in part inside the cover (10) and that has an annular ceiling (17) and a peripheral band (19) that is integral with the annular ceiling (17) and from which there extend at least two elastically deformable tongues (20) that, opposite from the band (19), have respective locking ends designed to engage under the neck (C) of the container (B).
  7. A device according to claim 6, characterized in that each tongue (20) extends away from the annular ceiling (17) in a direction that is substantially axial, its locking end (21) being curved over inwards to define a catch designed to come into abutment under the neck (C) of the container (B).
  8. A device according to claim 7, characterized in that each tongue (20) has a distal portion (22) that extends outwards and, on the outside face of said distal portion, each tongue has a blocking lug (23) that is designed to co-operate with a complementary blocking recess (24) in the cover (10).
  9. A device according to claim 8, characterized in that the inside face of the distal portion (22) of each tongue (20) is shaped to come into abutment against the neck (C) of the container (B) in the locking position.
  10. A device according to any one of claims 7 to 9, characterized in that the bottom end of each tongue that forms its catch is reinforced.
  11. A device according to any one of claims 8 to 10, characterized in that at least one of the tongues (20) has, on the outside face of a proximal portion, an assembly rib (25) designed to co-operate with the blocking recess to couple the ring to the cover (10) before the cover (10) is engaged fully over the ring.
  12. A device according to claim 6, characterized in that each tongue (20) extends towards the annular ceiling (17) from the peripheral rim (19) while extending towards the inside of the ring (11).
  13. A device according to claim 12, characterized in that the cover (10) has a skirt (12) that, at an end opposite from the cap (32), is provided with blocking means for blocking movement of the tongues (20) when the cover (10) is fully engaged over the ring (11).
  14. A device according to claim 13, characterized in that the ring has an outer annular belt (45) designed to surround the skirt (12) of the cover (10) when the cover (10) is fully engaged over the ring (11).
  15. A device according to claim 14, characterized in that the cover (10) is provided with locking means (47) designed to co-operate with complementary locking means (48) of the annular belt (45) when the cover (10) is fully engaged over the ring (11) in such a manner as to oppose removal of the cover (10).
  16. A container equipped with a stopper device (1) according to any one of claims 1 to 15.
