Claims (8)

1. Packaging comprising a receptable having an opening provided with a rim of which the edge comprises an upper annular bearing surface (11) which receives the sealing joint (7) moulded of thermoplastic material of a cover having at its periphery an annular part (6/8) having a surface to which the joint adheres, the border of the cover comprising a ring (9) folded to double thickness in the direction of said joint, so that its edge is embedded in the thickness of the latter, characterised in that the cover is a lid of which the peripheral annular part (6/8) is substantially planar, whereas the annular bearing surface (11) of the receptacle receiving the joint is provided, towards the internal periphery of the rim, with at least one sealing flange (13) in relief relative to the remainder of the rim surface and has at its exterior periphery a flange or raised edge (12) projecting therefrom, the border (8) being housed behind the exterior flange (12).
2. Packaging according to claim 1, characterised in that said annular bearing surface (11) is trunconic towards the interior whereas the border (8) of the lid is raised by an angle close to that formed by the upper part of the rim.
3. Packaging according to one of claims 1 and 2, characterised in that the exterior flange (12) has a thickness substantially equal to the maximum thickness of the lid, the sealing flange (13) having a relief less than the thickness of the joint (7).

Receptable for use in packaging according to any one of claims 1 to 3, having an opening provided with a rim of which the edge comprises an upper annular bearing surface (11) protected at its exterior periphery by a flange or raised edge (12) extending therefrom, characterised in that said bearing surface (11) is also provided at its interior part with at least one peripheral sealing flange (13), in relief relative to the rest of the surface of the rim, by a height less than that of the exterior flange or raised edge (12).
5. Lid for use in packaging according to one of claims 1 to 3, having at its periphery an annular part having a surface to which adheres a sealing joint of moulded thermoplastics material, and a border (8) which comprises a ring (9) folded to double thickness in the direction of said joint so that its edge (10) is embedded in the thickness of the joint, characterised in that said annular part (6/8) is substantially planar, the joint (7) projecting thereform.
6. Lid according to claim 4, characterised in that its annular part is connected to the central planar portion (4) by a trunconic shoulder (5).
7. Method of making a lid according to claim 6, in which there is made by cutting and pressing a metal disc provided with a raised edge and there is moulded a joint of a mass of plastics material applied by centrifugal casting in the peripheral concave zone formed by the border, characterised in that said casting is carried out inside the ring (9) which is rebated on the external border only partially, this ring then being rebated completely during moulding by means of the die which simultaneously forms said joint.
8. Method according to claim 7, characterised in that said ring is pinched after the resin has solidified.
