Device for carrying out the method for attaching an edge band to an edge of a workpiece (1), more particularly according to one of the preceding claims, with a device for clamping the workpiece and an assembly (6) for attaching the edge, wherein the assembly (6) and the clamped workpiece are movable relative to one another wherein the assembly (6) has a supply unit for supplying an edge band (2) and a contact pressure tool (4) for pressing the edge band (2) against the workpiece (1) wherein the contact pressure tool (4) is formed rotationally movable about an axis (A) perpendicular to the workpiece plane defined by the running directions of the two edges (1a, 1b) and is formed with at least one first and one second contact pressure face (4a, 4b) characterised in that the assembly has a device (6a) for producing a kink (2c) into the edge band (2) wherein the device (6a) is arranged so that it can provide the kink (2c) by cutting in a mitre groove on the side of the edge band (2) remote from the workpiece (1).
  9. Device according to claim 8 characterised in that the contact pressure tool (4) has a roughly rectangular or square cross-section perpendicular to its rotational axis (A).
  10. Device according to one of claims 8 or 9 characterised in that the contact pressure tool (4) is arranged and designed so that it presses the edge band (2) by the first contact pressure face (4a) against a first edge (1a) of the workpiece (1) and after reaching an internal corner (3) which connects the first edge (1a) to a second edge (1b) of the workpiece presses by the second contact pressure face (4b) the part (2b) of the edge band (2) lying in the processing direction behind the kink (2c) against the second edge (1b) of the workpiece (1).
  11. Device according to one of claims 8 to 10 characterised in that the first and second contact pressure faces (4a, 4b) are formed at an angle to one another which corresponds substantially to the angle of the edges (1a, 1b) which form the internal corner (3).
  12. Device according to one of claims 8 to 11 characterised in that the first and second contact pressure faces (4a, 4b) of the contact pressure tool (4) adjoin one another at an angle, more particularly a right angle.
  13. Device according to one of claims 8 to 12 characterised in that the contact pressure tool (4) has a pressure roller (5) which is coupled to same.
