In EP 1 990 152 B1 wird eine Lösung vorgestellt, bei der die übliche Andruckrolle bis in die Innenecke gefahren wird, auf der Seite der Innenecke aber zusätzlich ein Andrückelement angeordnet ist, welches den leeren Raum ausfüllt, der durch die Andruckrolle selbst nicht erreicht werden kann. Diese Vorrichtung weist allerdings den gravierenden Nachteil auf, dass zunächst beide in der Innenecke aufeinanderstoßenden Schmalseiten mit jeweils einem Kantenband beschichtet sein müssen, die dann in der Innenecke einen Stoß ausbilden. Das entsprechende Andrückelement kann dann die aufeinander in der Innenecke stoßenden Kantenbänder in die Ecke hineindrücken. Eine kontinuierliche Beschichtung einer Innenecke mit einem durchlaufenden Kantenband ist daher mit dieser Vorrichtung nicht möglich. Die Erfindung betrifft auch ein Verfahren zum Andrücken eines Kantenbandes an die Schmalseite von Werkstücken aus Holz oder Holzersatzstoffen, bei welchem eine oben beschriebene Vorrichtung eingesetzt wird. Das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren weist dabei folgende Schritte auf:

  2. b. Zuführen eines haftbar gemachten Kantenbandes an die Schmalseite des Werkstücks im Bereich des ersten Werkstückabschnitts;
  3. c. Andrücken eines ersten Kantenbandabschnitts des zugeführten Kantenbandes an die Schmalseite des ersten Werkstückabschnitts mittels der Hauptandruckrolle, wobei eine Relativverschiebung zwischen Werkstück und Hauptandruckrolle erfolgt;
  4. d. Schwenken des ersten Schwenkhebels, so dass das Anpresselement mit seiner ersten Anpressfläche zwischen der Hauptandruckrolle und der Innenecke des Werkstücks zur Anlage kommt und das Kantenband im Bereich des ersten Kantenbandabschnitts an die Schmalseite des ersten Werkstückabschnitts unter Fortsetzung der Relativverschiebung andrückt;
  5. e. wenn die Spitze zwischen den beiden Anpressflächen des Anpresselements den Bereich der Innenecke erreicht, wird die Hauptandruckrolle vom ersten Kantenbandabschnitt abgehoben, wobei das Anpresselement das Kantenband in die Innenecke drückt, wobei vom Kantenband ein an den ersten Kantenbandabschnitt angrenzender zweiter Kantenbandabschnitt abgewinkelt wird;

    a. Providing a workpiece (2) with two portions (21, 22) angled relative to one another to form an inner corner (20);
    b. Supplying an adherent edge strip to the narrow side of the workpiece (2) in the region of the first workpiece portion (22);
    c. Pressing a first edge strip portion (3b) of the supplied edge strip (3) onto the narrow side of the first workpiece portion (22) by means of the main pressing roller (13), wherein a relative displacement takes place between the workpiece (2) and main pressing roller (13);
    d. Pivoting the first pivot lever (16) so that the pressing element comes to bear with its first pressing surface (17b) between the main pressing roller (13) and the inner corner (20) of the workpiece, and presses the edge strip (3) in the region of the first edge strip portion (3b) onto the narrow side of the first workpiece portion (22) whilst continuing the relative displacement;
    e. When the tip (17c) between the two pressing surfaces (17b, 17a) of the pressing element (17) reaches the region of the inner corner (20) the main pressing roller (13) is removed from the first edge strip portion (3b), wherein the pressing element (17) presses the edge strip (3) into the inner corner (20), wherein a second edge strip portion (3a) adjoining the first edge strip portion (3b) is angled away from the edge strip (3);
    f. Pressing the second edge strip portion (3a) onto the narrow side of the second workpiece portion (21) by means of the main pressing roller (13), wherein a relative displacement takes place between the workpiece (2) and the main pressing roller (13).
  6. Method according to Claim 5 characterised in that during or after step f. a step g. is carried out in which the second pressing surface (17a) of the pressing element (17) presses the second edge strip portion (3a) against the narrow side of the second workpiece portion (21).
  7. Method according to Claim 6 characterised in that during pressing of the second edge strip portion (3a) the pressing element (17) trails the main pressing roller.
  8. Method according to one of Claims 5 to 7 where also dependent on Claim 2, characterised in that at least during steps c. and d., in particular also during steps e. and f., the secondary pressing roller (15) bears against the first edge strip portion (3b) trailing the main pressing roller (13).
