Definitions
- the present invention relates to a computer housing according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Computer cases are known per se. These are typically designed so that at least one housing cover can be removed from the rest of the computer housing to allow access to the inside of the housing components of the computer. Since there is limited space available to house the individual components, individual components such as the computer motherboard are often very difficult to access because other components such as drives or fans are mounted over the motherboard. Therefore, to achieve certain components, it is first necessary to remove the components which cover them, which is time-consuming and therefore expensive.
- this sidewall By pivoting the sidewall to which the power supply is attached, this sidewall can be quickly and easily swiveled outward for maintenance on under-the-power components of the computer, providing easy access to the components under the power supply ,
- the fixation of the side wall, on which the power supply is arranged, to a fixedly connected to the housing bottom mounting plate allows for a secure fit for the side wall and on the other a quick and easy way to solve the side wall of the mounting plate in case of maintenance.
- FIG. 1 shows a perspective view of a computer housing according to the invention in the closed state
- Figure 2 is a perspective view of a computer housing according to the invention in the open state with outwardly folded side wall and outwardly folded front cover
- Figure 3 is a perspective view of a computer housing according to the invention in part closed state with outwardly folded front cover and almost completely folded inward side wall
- Figure 4 a 5 shows a detailed view of a fixing device of the folding side wall on a housing rear wall
- FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a computer housing according to the invention in the open state with outwardly folded side wall and outwardly folded front cover
- Figure 3 is a perspective view of a computer housing according to the invention in part closed state with outwardly folded front cover and almost completely folded inward side wall
- Figure 4 a 5 shows a detailed view of a fixing device of the folding side wall on a housing rear wall
- FIG. 6a to 6e the procedure for exposing located under the power supply components in the computer case.
- terms such as top, bottom, left, right, front, back, etc. refer exclusively to the exemplary representation and position of the computer housing and other parts selected in the respective figures. These terms are not meant to be limiting, that is, in different working positions or by mirror-symmetrical design or the like, these references may change.
- FIG. 1 shows a perspective view of a computer housing according to the invention in the closed state.
- the computer housing 1 consists of a housing cover 2, a housing bottom 7, which can not be seen in this figure, two
- the housing cover 2 is at its rear wall 6 facing edge at least partially bent in the direction of the housing bottom 7 and releasably secured by two screws 27, 28 on the rear wall 6.
- the opposite, the front cover 5 facing edge of the housing cover 2 protrudes in the attached state slightly below a bent to the housing cover 2 edge of the front cover. 5
- FIG. 2 shows the computer housing in the opened state and with the housing cover 2 removed.
- the housing front 5 has been folded over or swung forwards away from the rest of the computer housing.
- On the housing front 5 at least one drive carrier 9 for receiving at least one, in the illustrated illustration of a preferred embodiment of two drives 10, 11 is arranged, which is folded over when folding the housing front 5 together with the housing front 5 to the front.
- the computer components arranged under the drives 10, 11 are exposed.
- One of the side walls 4 of the computer housing is folded away from the computer housing to the outside.
- a power supply 8 is arranged, so that the
- Power unit 8 when folding the side wall 4 together with the side wall 4 is pivoted outwardly away.
- the attachment of the side wall 4 to the housing bottom 7 is preferably via hinges 12, 13, which are attached to the adjacent edges of the side wall 4 and the housing bottom 7.
- the front cover 5 of the computer housing is preferably connected in the same way to the housing bottom 7, so that the drive carrier 9 arranged on the front cover 5 of the computer housing is also pivotably attached to the housing bottom.
- At least one of the drive carriers 9 protrudes in the swung-in state into the interior of the computer housing so far that it locks the swiveled-in power supply unit 8 in the computer housing.
- This locking is preferably achieved by overlapping partial areas of the power supply unit and of the drive carrier in the pivoted-in state of the power supply unit and in the swiveled-in state of the drive carrier and thus preventing the power supply from flipping outwards without prior forward pivoting of the drive carrier.
- FIG. 3 to 5 show overview and detail views of the fixing devices of the pivotable side wall and the pivotable front cover.
- the front cover 5 of the computer case is folded forward and the side wall 4 with the power supply 8 almost folded.
- the two circles in FIG. 3 indicate the locations on the computer housing on which the front cover 5 and the side surface 4 are locked.
- a part of the computer housing rear wall 15 and the side wall 4 on which the power supply unit 8 is arranged are integrally formed, so that the power supply unit 8 is supported from this side wall 4 from two sides and a rear wall part 15 is enclosed.
- the contour of the rear wall part 15 is preferably such that the rear wall part 15 on the one hand completely encloses an end face 16 of the power pack 8, on the other hand it is formed with a web in the upper part facing the housing cover.
- the other part of the housing rear wall 6 is formed according to its left in the figures 2 and 3 edge of the contour of the rear wall part, so that the two housing rear wall parts 6 and 15 engage in the folded state of the side wall 4 into each other and are locked together.
- FIG. 4 shows the fixing of the side wall 4 at a Rich housing front 5 vertically protruding from the housing bottom 7 mounting plate 14 shown.
- the mutually opposite edges of mounting plate 14 and side wall 4 in mutually engaging edge portions 19 and 22, which are provided with holes 20, 21 through which screws are preferably screwed and fixed in this way, the side wall 4 on the mounting plate 14.
- a fixation of the side wall 4 to the mounting plate 14 by clamping the respective edges together conceivable.
- the locking device shown in Figure 5 preferably consists of a the rear wall portion 15 facing edge of the rear wall 6, with which a
- Rear wall part 6 facing edge of the rear wall portion 15 overlaps. These two edges are preferably provided with holes through which preferably screws can be screwed and so hold the two back wall parts 6 and 15 together. It is also conceivable jamming of the two edges in the manner as described in the fixing of the side plate 4 on the mounting plate 14.
- FIGS. 6a to 6e show, by way of example, the procedure for accessing the motherboard below the power supply.
- FIG. 6a shows the computer housing in a completely closed state.
- Figure 6b shows how the housing cover 2 is removed after loosening the two screws 27, 28 from the rear side of the housing from the rest of the housing.
- 6c shows the open computer housing without housing cover 2.
- the housing front 5 is still in the closed position, whereby the drive carrier 9 still prevents folding of the side wall 4.
- FIG. 6d shows, in the next step, the forward-folded housing front 5 with the associated release of the components located under the drive carrier 9.
- FIG. 6e shows the computer housing with the housing front 5 pivoted forwardly and the side surface 4 pivoted to the side, with which the power supply unit 8 is simultaneously pivoted to the side so that the main circuit board 17 located under the power supply unit 8 is freely accessible. This provides a quick and easy way to reach the motherboard 17 of the computer.
