Claims (11)

  1. Packaging tray (1) made of cardboard or semi-rigid material, in particular for food products of the sandwich or hamburger type, having a holding part (5), for holding the food product, said holding part (5) being in the form of a casing that is open at its upper face, and a lid part (9), which is hinged to the holding part (5), is likewise in the form of a casing complementary to the holding part (5), and is able to close the holding part (5) by way of its hinge after the introduction of the food product, this closure of the tray being ensured by at least one fastening tab (31) on its side (27a) opposite the hinge, the fastening tab (31) for closing the tray being formed on a side of the tray opposite the hinge, between the holding part (5) and the lid part (9), and comprising on this side of the holding part or of the lid part at least one protrusion (35) that is able to be engaged in a complementary slot (17) formed on the corresponding side (13a) opposite the lid part (9) or the holding part (5), respectively, characterized in that this protrusion (35) is able to enter the slot (17) when the tray is closed, outside the closure face (13a, 27a) of the tray that is thus produced, in order to keep it closed in a substantially flat form, this closure face (13a, 27a) furthermore having such a configuration, area and orientation as to allow the tray (1) and the food product therein to be supported by this closure face.
  2. Packaging tray according to Claim 1, characterized in that said protrusion (35) is sufficiently rigid to keep the closure face (13a, 27a) flat, or pressed slightly inwards, when it is engaged in said complementary slot (17).
  3. Packaging tray according to Claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the angle of inclination of the tray supported by its closure face (13a, 27a) with respect to the vertical is between 0° and 30°, depending on its area and shape.
  4. Packaging tray according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that said protrusion (35) comprises two lateral wings (33) that are able to be inserted into said slot (17) and to remain locked therein except if they are torn in order to open the tray, thereby enabling the tray to be opened.
  5. Packaging tray according to Claim 4, characterized in that said protrusion (35) has a convergent or slightly pointed profile and said lateral wings (33) continue the surface of said protrusion (35).
  6. Packaging tray according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the side (13a) which has the protrusion (35) comprises a tearable part (23) adjacent to the slot (17).
  7. Packaging tray according to Claim 6, characterized in that said adjacent tearable part (23) of the slot consists of two tearing lines (21) on the side (13a), said tearing lines (21) being perpendicular to the slot (17), close to its ends and, after being torn, cutting out an opening (23) that is approximately rectangular.
  8. Packaging tray according to Claim 6 or 7, characterized in that the slot (17) is formed with a tongue (19) that is able to allow the tearing of the slot (17) or a part (23) adjacent thereto on the corresponding side of the tray.
  9. Packaging tray according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that it comprises two fastening tabs (31') on its closure face.
  10. Application of the tray (1) according to any one of the preceding claims to the packaging of food products under conditions protecting the food product.
  11. Blank made of rigid or semi-rigid material, such as cardboard or corrugated cardboard, for obtaining a tray according to one of Claims 1 to 9, comprising:
    - a first part (5) intended to form a holding casing for holding the food product, said holding casing being hinged by a folding line (7) to a second part (9) intended to form a lid casing that is able to close the opening of the holding casing (5),
    - the first holding part (5) comprising a base (11) and four sides (13) that are able to rise upwards in relation to the base (11), its side (13a) opposite the folding line (7) being intended to form a partial closure face of the tray and comprising at least one slot (17) in its central part,
    - the second part (9) comprising a top face (25) and four sides (27) that are intended to be folded in relation to the top face (25) so as to form the sides of the lid casing, the front side (27a) opposite the folding line (7) comprising at least one central fastening tab (31) that has a protrusion (35) that is able to be engaged in the slot (17),
    - the sides (13a, 27a) that are intended to form the closure face of the tray also having a configuration, area and orientation such as to allow the tray (1) and the food product therein to be supported by this closure face.
