Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for producing a decarburized hot strip, which is produced from a quenching steel containing at least 0.4 wt .-% carbon.
- Hot rolled strips produced from steels of this type have a high hardness and are therefore particularly suitable for the production of articles which are exposed to high localized loads during use. This is the case, for example, in the case of punching blades or comparable cutting tools in which both the cutting edge and the blade body carrying the cutting edge have to absorb high forces during the cutting operation in practical use.
- the ductility of steels can be improved by decarburization annealing.
- decarburization annealing For example, for deep-drawing deformation, certain steels made of soft steels are subjected to decarburization annealing. The aim is to obtain as even as possible a reduction in the carbon content over the entire sheet metal cross section in order to ensure the most uniform possible deformation behavior.
- the cold strip is wound according to the known method to an "open coil” and annealed decarburizing as open-coil.
- an open-coil is so loosely wound that its individual winding layers are separated by open spaces.
- the reaction gas can flow through the intermediate spaces between the individual layers of the coil, so that with optimized gas flow guidance, each surface of the coil is swept in the same way by the gas.
- thermoforming 0.03-0.06 wt .-% carbon-containing cold strip
- DE-OS 2,105,218 Another possibility of decarburization annealing of a thermoforming, 0.03-0.06 wt .-% carbon-containing cold strip is in the DE-OS 2,105,218 described.
- the cold strip is passed through a furnace in which a reducing atmosphere is maintained at an annealing temperature of less than 780 ° C.
- the cycle time of the strip through the annealing furnace is adjusted so that its carbon content at the exit from the annealing furnace is less than 0.01 wt .-%.
- a method for producing a steel strip in which a cold-rolled steel strip is produced from a steel having a C content of 0.3-2 wt%, and this cold-rolled steel strip is subsequently wound into an open coil.
- the open coil is then subjected to an annealing treatment in which it is heated to an annealing temperature ranging between the A 1 temperature as the upper limit temperature and the lower limit temperature by up to 120 ° C below the A 1 temperature.
- the steel strip was kept under a decarburizing atmosphere for 1 to 15 hours.
- This type of decarburization treatment is performed with the aim of uniforming the decarburization depth achieved in decarburization annealing and of ensuring proper bonding between the decarburized layer and the undecarbelled, spherical carbide-containing core portion of the steel sheet.
- the invention was based on the object to provide a method that allows the production of steel strip, in which high hardness on the one hand and good formability on the other hand are optimally combined with each other.
- a steel strip is first produced in known manner from a quenching steel containing at least 0.4% by weight of carbon.
- This steel strip can be a cold or a hot strip, the procedure according to the invention being particularly suitable for the treatment of hot strip which is to be processed with a specific thickness lying above the thickness of cold strip.
- the steel strip is wound according to the invention to an open coil and heated as an open coil over a sufficiently long period of time to a decarburization annealing temperature.
- This can be up to 20 ° C, especially up to 10 ° C, are below the A c1 temperature of the respective tempering steel and must not exceed the A c3 temperature of the respective tempering steel.
- the decarburizing annealing of the steel strip in the open coil is then carried out under a decarburizing atmosphere for a decarburization annealing time of at least 90 minutes.
- the decarburizing gas forming the decarburizing atmosphere flows through the gaps existing between the winding layers of the open coil.
- the advantage of the decarburization annealing according to the invention in wound to an open coil steel strip is that can be achieved in this way time-saving uniform temperature distribution over the length and width of each processed steel strip.
- the annealing conditions are chosen according to the invention so that there is a uniformly distributed structure state over the entire strip.
- it is ensured by the inventively given range of annealing temperature that in each processed band still sufficient amounts of ferrite are present to allow rapid diffusion of the carbon. This is up to a hundredfold faster in ferrite than in austenite.
- the decarburization annealing temperature according to the invention is preferably set in a range which is lower by 10-20 ° C. than the A C1 temperature. With this setting of the decarburization annealing temperature, it is ensured that the tempering steel of the processed steel strip in each case has ferritic structure, so that an optimal diffusion rate of the carbon is achieved.
- the open coil is accelerated cooled to prevent any undesirable and, in terms of its extent, insecure subsequent diffusion of carbon into the previously deliberately decarburized surface layer due to the inherent heat of the coil.
- the accelerated cooling should take place as soon as possible, as soon as possible after the end of the decarburization annealing time and at a cooling rate of at least 1 ° C / min.
- the accelerated cooling is carried out under protective gas. This measure also serves to prevent uncontrolled decarburization of the steel strip during cooling as much as possible.
- a decarburized surface layer measured from the respective surface of the steel strip is present whose depth is in each case less than one quarter of the thickness of the steel strip, so that only areas near the surface are included in the decarburization according to the invention.
- the parameters of the method according to the invention are preferably chosen so that decarburization depths of a maximum of 120 ⁇ m, in particular 30-120 ⁇ m, are achieved.
- the steel strip obtained by the procedure according to the invention is consequently characterized in that, as a consequence of the decarburization treatment, it has a high bend formability in the region of a near-surface Owns layer. At the same time, due to the fact that the high initial carbon content is still obtained in the core region of the finished decarburized steel strip, the strip treated according to the invention has a high core hardness.
- heat-treated steel strip as a result of WeichglühClouds has a relation to the initial state lowered strength, which has a favorable effect on the possibilities of further processing.
- the method according to the invention can be carried out particularly inexpensively and efficiently.
- steel sheet produced according to the invention can be used particularly well, for example, for the production of punching knives or similar objects which, if necessary, must be bent sharply in order to obtain their intended shape.
- the production of a semifinished product made of sheet steel according to the invention may include separation operations, such as stamping or cutting, as well as forming operations, such as deep drawing or bending. If necessary, the so manufactured Semi-finished products also undergo a final compensation treatment.
- the decarburization time selected in each case when carrying out the process according to the invention depends on the respectively required decarburization depth. It is typically at least 90 minutes. According to experience, the decarburization depth of at least 30 ⁇ m can be achieved in this time, for example in the case of tempered steels having a C content of 0.55% by weight, under the operating parameters prescribed by the invention.
- the duration over which the decarburization treatment according to the invention has to be carried out in order to achieve a specific decarburization depth can be determined for a given decarburization temperature, given decarburization depth and given dew point of the decarburisation atmosphere on the basis of the carbon content and the coil weight of the steel strip to be treated. If the decarburization depth is to be limited to a maximum of 120 ⁇ m, experience has shown that the decarburization annealing time can be limited to a maximum of 120 minutes.
- a gas mixture of nitrogen, hydrogen and steam is also used in the implementation of the decarburization according to the invention as decarburization gas.
- decarburization gas typically, such a decarburizing atmosphere at a dew point between 20-28 ° C, especially 20-26 ° C, contains 85-97% by volume of nitrogen and 3-15% 7% by volume of hydrogen, with one being used in practice Atmosphere typically contains 93 vol .-% nitrogen and 7 vol .-% hydrogen.
- the heating to the decarburization temperature also takes place in the process according to the invention initially under a protective gas atmosphere.
- the inert gas atmosphere maintained during the heating may contain 85-97% by volume of nitrogen and 3-15% by volume of hydrogen, with a protective gas atmosphere used in practice typically having 93% by volume of nitrogen and 7% of hydrogen.
- steam is then added to this atmosphere to provide the reducing decarburization atmosphere under which the decarburization reaction starts C + H 2 O -> CO + H 2 .
- the amount of water required for the decarburization reaction in the furnace can be regulated as a function of the dew point.
- the dew point of the decarburizing atmosphere may be detected throughout the decarburization annealing time.
- the water vapor content of the decarburizing atmosphere is then adjusted so that the dew point of the atmosphere is maintained in the range of 20-26%.
- the steel strip In order to remove possibly existing oxide layers and lubricant residues on the processed steel strip, the steel strip should be pickled before winding to the open coil.
- the obtained steel strip may be about Be favorable to temper the steel strip after pickling and before winding to the open coil.
- the method according to the invention can be carried out in a particularly simple manner when the heating and decarburization annealing of the open coil takes place in a hood annealing furnace.
- a tempering steel suitable for the production of steel sheets processed according to the invention typically has the following composition (in% by weight): C: 0.4 - 1.0% Si: 0.1 - 0.5% Mn: 0.3 - 1.2% P: ⁇ 0.02% S: ⁇ 0.008% al: 0.01 - 0.05% Cr: 0.1 - 0.5% Ni: 0.1 - 0.4% Not a word: ⁇ 0.1%

Description
- In
