Abstract

The tunnel multi gallery is a tunnel of circular section executed with a tunnel boring machine (1), characterized by possessing a wall (2), disposed at the middle of the tunnel and along all its high, and a slab (3), placed a bit over the bottom of the tunnel, in order to create two independent galleries, disposed side by side, and a service gallery with two cellules. Inside the lateral part of the two galleries and inside the two cellules of the service gallery, vehicles of shuttle type (4) are installed, in order to provide local access in case of accident or fire.

Description

DESCRIPTION
TUNNEL MULTI GALLERY
The former technique
The execution of tunnels with tunnel boring machines is a solution increasingly used for the construction of infrastructures for roadway and railway transporting systems .
In the execution of tunnels with tunnel boring machines the referred machine excavates the soil and places precast segments which are linked together with clamps, in order to form the walls of the tunnel. Afterwards a filling on the base of the tunnel is executed, in order to create a platform for the circulation of the vehicles that will use the tunnel (trains, in the case of railway tunnels) , with the two senses of traffic placed side by side.
In the case of long tunnels (typically, tunnels spanning more than 500 meters) this solution of tunnels is problematic, and it will be necessary to build two separated tunnels, one for each sense of traffic, in a way that, for ventilation purpose, the air will circulate in a unique sense, the sense of the traffic. Sometimes, there is also the need to build a third tunnel (service tunnel) , for access in case of an accident or of fire.
Technical domain of the invention
The present invention constitutes an innovative solution for the construction of tunnels of the railway type, executed with tunnel boring machines, allowing for the complete separation of the two senses of traffic, as well as, easy access in case of an accident or of fire. Description of the figures
The present invention is illustrated in figures 1, 2, 3 and 4. Figure 1 shows a schematic perspective of the tunnel. Figure 2 shows the transversal section of the tunnel. Figure 3 shows a longitudinal section of the tunnel. Figure 4 shows the plan of the tunnel.
Detailed description of the invention
The tunnel is constituted by a circular tube (1) , executed by a tunnel boring machine, which excavates the soil and places precast segments, which will be linked together through metallic clamps.
Inside the tunnel thus formed, a wall is afterwards executed (2) , disposed at the middle of the tunnel and along all its high, and a slab (3) , placed a bit over of the bottom of the tunnel, in order to form two independent galleries, disposed side by side, and a service gallery with two parallel cellules.
Inside the lateral part of the two galleries and inside the two cellules of the service gallery vehicles of shuttle type (4) are afterwards installed, in order to provide local access in case of accident or fire.
