Definitions
- the present invention relates to a multi-component packaging, in particular for adhesion promoters.
- Adhesion promoter substances have long been used to improve adhesion, especially those of adhesives and sealants.
- silane and titanate compounds have long been known as such adhesion promoter substances. It has been found that, depending on the material and the nature of the surfaces and the adhesive or sealant used, specific adhesion promoter substances or mixtures thereof must be selected depending on the case.
- These primer compositions are used as primers or adhesion promoters for the pretreatment of surfaces to be bonded or sealed.
- such adhesion promoter substances are dissolved in an inert, readily volatile solvent, and are therefore storable over a longer period of time if moisture is excluded.
- this adhesion promoter composition When this adhesion promoter composition is applied to a surface, the volatile solvent evaporates and the humidity hydrolyzes the adhesion promoter substances and leads to their condensation with each other and optionally with polar groups of the surface. However, this reaction takes a certain time until the buildup of adhesion has taken place.
- adhesion promoter substances When these adhesion promoter substances come into contact with water, they hydrolyze and condense to form oligomers and / or polymers. In the application of such oligomers and, in particular, such polymers, however, a markedly poorer to even no adhesion promoter action very often occurs. It has been shown that the adhesion is often insufficient if applied to the primer composition, a very fast-curing adhesive, in particular a very fast polyurethane adhesive.
- Two-component systems are for example in the document WO 2005/093002 described.
- a precursor compound and an activator are stored in two dense, separate but adjacent chambers within a package for storage.
- Two-component systems are particularly advantageous because it is possible to set an exact mixing ratio between the precursor compound and the activating agent.
- the precursor compound When applied to the surface to be treated, the precursor compound is ideally mixed with the activating agent and thus leads to the activation of the precursor compound within a very short time.
- this object is achieved by a multi-component packaging with the features of claim 1 and or a method for removing a mixture from a multi-component packaging according to the patent claim 14.
- a multi-component package for packaging at least a first and a second component comprising a first chamber for receiving the first component, wherein the first chamber having an opening for taking a mixture of the at least first and second component, with one within the first chamber arranged second chamber for receiving the second component and with a closure means which closes the opening in a storage state of the multi-component packaging, the opening fluid-tight.
- a method for removing a mixture from a multi-component packaging having at least a first chamber, which accommodates a first component, and a second chamber, which accommodates a second component, within the first chamber comprising the following steps: puncturing the second chamber by means of a piercing means, mixing the first and second components to form the mixture, releasing a closed by means of a closure means opening of the first chamber and pouring the mixture from the opening.
- the closure means releases the opening of the first chamber only when or at least while a deliberate mixing of the two components has taken place or takes place. Accordingly, the components can be applied only in the mixed state on a surface to be treated. Thus, sufficient adhesion between the surface to be treated and e.g. on this applied adhesives or sealants, paint, etc. ensured.
- a "chamber” is to be understood as meaning a volume which is almost completely or completely enclosed by a wall.
- the term "piercing" of a chamber is understood to mean the production of one or more openings in one area or in a plurality of, in particular also opposite, areas of the chamber.
- release of the opening in the present case also means a partial release only.
- a piercing means for piercing the second chamber by shaking the multi-component packaging within the first or second chamber.
- shaking is meant an acceleration, in particular a periodic acceleration in opposite directions.
- a "piercing means” is to be understood as meaning any type of means which allows puncturing of the second chamber and thereby comes into direct contact with it.
- An arrangement of the piercing means in the first or second chamber is advantageous in that it is so simple Way can be integrated into the multi-component packaging without having to be carried as a separate part, for example.
- the closure means is preferably disposed substantially within the first chamber.
- the closure means is formed by the second chamber itself. This advantageously ensures that the piercing means must first pierce the second chamber before the opening of the first chamber is released.
- the penetration means penetrates from an inner space of the first chamber preferably a first wall facing the interior of the first chamber of the second chamber, so that there is a breakthrough, through which the second component flow into the interior of the first chamber and there with the first Component can mix. If now further shaken, the piercing means also penetrates a now accessible through the generated breakthrough, facing away from the interior of the second chamber wall. This creates an opening in the multi-component packaging, through which the adhesion promoter formed by mixing the first and second components can be poured out.
- the piercing means is fixedly coupled to the closure means and arranged with respect to the second chamber so that a piercing movement of the piercing means causes the piercing of the second chamber and actuates the closure means for releasing the opening.
- the piercing means to be mechanically coupled to the closure means in such a way that the piercing movement of the piercing means initially causes puncturing of a wall of the second chamber facing the piercing means and only on continuation the piercing movement the piercing means actuates the closure means to release the opening. This will ensure that the first and second components remain for some time to mix until the closure means releases the opening.
- mechanically coupled is meant, for example, a shoulder on the piercing means, which engages in the continuation of the piercing movement with the closure means and then actuates this to release the opening.
- the closure means is formed by the piercing means itself.
- the penetration means assumes a double function: on the one hand it serves to puncture the second chamber, on the other hand as a closure means. This is advantageous in terms of a manufacturing cost for the multi-component packaging.
- a holding means is provided, which is preferably arranged in the region of the opening and which holds the piercing means in the storage condition and releases the piercing means as a function of an acceleration acting on the multi-component packaging.
- the acting acceleration can result from a shaking of the multi-component packaging. Unintentional release of the piercing means and thus any inadvertent destruction of the second chamber can be prevented by means of the retaining means.
- holding means for example, adhesives, films and / or threads into consideration. However, rubber, webs and other holding devices on the closure would also be conceivable.
- the second chamber has a wall which is designed such that a piercing movement of the piercing means with a predetermined kinetic energy leads to the puncturing of the second chamber.
- the design of the wall is carried out by means of the wall thickness and / or the material and / or the geometry of the wall.
- the kinetic energy of both the penetrant and the preferably liquid increases first and second components.
- the kinetic energy of the piercing means is in a predetermined ratio to the kinetic energy of the first or second component. Good mixing of the first and second components is ensured in particular when the first and second components meet with a predetermined kinetic energy. This is ensured by the fact that the wall of the second chamber can be pierced only when the piercing means itself reaches a predetermined kinetic energy.
- the first chamber is flexible and the second chamber connected to the closure means such that a swaging of the first chamber leads to a puncture of the closure means, wherein the swaging of the first chamber before a puncture or breaking of the second chamber conditionally.
- a part of the second chamber itself forms the closure means, wherein in addition, in particular for a seal suitable sealing means between the second chamber and the first chamber may be provided in the region of the opening.
- the first chamber is designed as a folding bottle, which facilitates a compression of these.
- the pressure applied when compressing the first chamber to the second chamber pressure leads to a complete breakage of the second chamber, so that the opening is released and preferably at the same time mix the first and second components together.
- the second chamber with a predetermined breaking point, which breaks in a first compression operation of the first chamber and thus releases the second component for mixing with the first component, in which case a subsequent subsequent upsetting upsetting operation to a puncture of the Closure means leads. In this development, too, it is ensured that mixing of the first and second components takes place before the opening for pouring out the adhesion promoter of the first chamber is released.
- a wall of the second chamber made of glass and / or metal (preferably aluminum) and / or plastic formed.
- the first chamber has a spout adjoining a base body, in particular spout-shaped spout and possibly a spout adjoining it. These facilitate application or transfer of the bonding agent to a surface to be treated.
- the spout and, if present, the spout is part of the first chamber.
- the "opening" of the first chamber is preferably formed by the spout, in particular by the transition between the base body and the spout, and / or by an opening of the spout adjoining the spout.
- the spout is in particular a spout-shaped and / or closable.
- the spout-shaped pourer tapers to a smaller diameter than that of the spout. Due to the design of the spout / pourer, it is possible to apply the primer even more targeted or réellestecken an application tool (sponge, felt).
- the spout / pourer by means of a closure means, such as a closure cap, closable, such that a formed adhesion promoter can flow out of this at released opening, but with closed closure means a flow out of the multi-component packaging is prevented by means of the closure means.
- the first component comprises an activating agent, for example water, and / or the second component comprises a precursor compound, for example a hydrolyzable silane and / or titanate compound. Mixing this leads to an activated adhesion promoter.
- an activating agent for example water
- a precursor compound for example a hydrolyzable silane and / or titanate compound. Mixing this leads to an activated adhesion promoter.
- the piercing means in particular at least one ball, a harder or at least more solid material than that of a wall of the second chamber and / or cutting means for piercing the wall of the second chamber, or it has a different texture to the Breaking or puncturing leads.
- the cutting means may be formed, for example, as mandrels on the at least one ball.
- the first chamber is partially filled.
- the first component is allowed to reach sufficient kinetic energy before the piercing means pierces the second chamber. A good mixing of the first and second component is thus ensured.
- firstly the second chamber is pierced, then the first and second components for forming the adhesion promoter are partially, preferably homogeneously, mixed and further subsequently the opening of the first chamber is released. Pouring the bonding agent without activation of the same is thus excluded.
- first a wall of the second chamber facing the first chamber and then a wall facing away from the first chamber and forming the closure means are pierced by the piercing means of the second chamber.
- a mixing of the first and second component is ensured before piercing the opposite wall.
- the penetration of the opposite wall of the second chamber causes a release of the opening of the first chamber for pouring the then activated adhesion promoter.
- the closure means when the second chamber is pierced or directly after the second chamber has been pierced, the closure means is moved by mechanical coupling with the piercing means to release the opening.
- the advantage is that a release of the opening of the second chamber takes place only when the second chamber is pierced or was, so that there is a mixing of the first and second components.
- the second chamber is first pierced by upsetting the first chamber and then released the opening of the first chamber by further upsetting.
- the compression leads to a mixing movement and mixing of the first and second components is ensured here before releasing the opening of the first chamber for pouring the activated adhesion promoter.
- the opening of the first chamber is released from the piercing means which forms the closure means, and at the same time the second chamber is pierced by the piercing means and the first and second components for forming the adhesion promoter are mixed.
- Fig. 1 shows in a cross-sectional view of a multi-component package 1 without a piercing means.
- the multicomponent packaging 1 has a first chamber 2 for receiving a first component 3 and a second chamber 4 arranged within the first chamber 2 for receiving a second component 5.
- the first component 3 is preferably in the form of an activating agent, in particular water and optionally further additives such as acids, wetting agents, dyes, etc., are formed.
- the second component 5 is preferably formed as a precursor compound, in particular a silane or titanate compound and at most additives such as dyes, etc., formed.
- the first chamber 2 has a wall 6, which surrounds a space 7.
- the first chamber 2 has a shape suitable for handling, for example a bottle shape.
- the wall 6 of the first chamber 2 is provided with an opening 11 which is closed in a storage state of the multi-component packaging 1 by means of a preferably arranged within the first chamber 2 closing means 12, for example a film or a lid.
- the first component 3 is prevented from leaking out of the opening 11 in the storage state of the multi-component package 1.
- the second chamber 4 has a space 13 in which in the storage state, the second component 5 is arranged and which is preferably completely enclosed by a wall 14 of the second chamber 4.
- the shape of the second chamber 4 is almost arbitrary.
- the first chamber 2 is approximately in the form of a bottle, wherein the first chamber 2 has a spout 15 adjoining a base body 8 and forming the opening 11.
- the spout 15 is preferably connected to a pourer 16, preferably by means of a screw 17, or not shown connected to a plug connection or bump connection.
- the pourer 16 is preferably itself formed like a sheath and at its end remote from the first chamber 2 end 21 with a closure 22 for closing an opening 23 of the spout 16 is provided.
- the closure 22 is connected via a flexible locking tab 24 for holding the closure 22 in the detached state with the pourer 16.
- a piercing means 25 is freely movable, which is preferably designed as a ball, for example made of steel.
- the closure means 12 is formed as the second chamber 4.
- the wall 14 of the second chamber 4 closes fluid-tight with the wall 6 of the first chamber 2 in a sealing region 26.
- a holding or sealing means in particular an adhesive and / or an elastic seal, can be introduced into the sealing region 26, which on the one hand improves the fluid-tightness and on the other hand holds the second chamber 4 in a condition closing the spout 15.
- the wall 14 of the second chamber 4 is made of glass and preferably has an oval cross-section.
- the oval cross-section of the second chamber 4 promotes increased stability of the wall 14, which can advantageously reduce a wall thickness of the wall 14. This leads advantageously to a material saving.
- the multi-component packaging 1 is shaken, for example, by an operator or by a shaking machine (not shown).
- the first chamber 2 may preferably be only partially filled with the first component 3.
- the penetration means 25 comes into motion. If the piercing means 25 strikes the wall 14 of the second chamber 4 with sufficient kinetic energy, the piercing means 25 preferably initially penetrates the end 27 of the second chamber 4 facing away from the sealing area 26 and into the space 7. The puncture occurs In the case of a wall 14 formed of glass, this leads to a sudden brittle fracture of the latter in the area of the end 27.
- the first component 3 mixes with the now released second component 5.
- the thickness of the wall 14 or its material and the material or material is The shape or the weight of the piercing means 25 is matched to one another in such a way that the end 27 is not pierced until there is no unwanted movement, for example due to the transport of the multi-component packaging 1 and on the other hand the first and / or the second component are in motion in such a way that a very homogeneous mixing of these takes place rapidly when the end 27 is punctured.
- the described tuning of the wall 14 and the piercing means 25 is made such that the piercing means 25 has lost so much kinetic energy after piercing the end 27, that an immediate, so after the penetration of the end 27 subsequent piercing of the Abdicht Schemet 26 and the space 7 facing away from the end 31 of the wall 14 of the second chamber 4 is prevented.
- the piercing means again absorbs kinetic energy, during which it preferably ensures good mixing of the first component 3 and the second component 5.
- the piercing means 25 reaches a further predetermined kinetic energy, it penetrates the end 31 of the wall 14, wherein then a pouring out of the mixed adhesion forming first and second components 3, 5 from the second chamber is made possible.
- the material of the wall 14 of the second chamber 4 may be formed such that it breaks completely when piercing, preferably in many small pieces, in particular splintered, which then simultaneously mixing the first and second components 3 and 5 and releasing the Spout 15 is achieved.
- the bonding agent then flows preferably through a filter screen 32, which filters out any splinters, such as broken glass, the destroyed wall 14.
- the filter screen can also be a sponge, a frit, etc.
- the adhesion promoter can then simply be applied to a surface to be treated by means of the spout-shaped pouring spout 16 (Not shown) applied, or are poured into another container, or a suitable application means are plugged.
- the variant according to Fig. 3 differs from the variant according to Fig. 2 in that in the variant according to Fig. 3 the second chamber 4 is formed with a substantially trapezoidal cross-section. But there are also other cross-sections conceivable.
- the second chamber 4 forms a substantially planar surface 27 pointing toward the space 7.
- the wall 14 of the second chamber 4 is formed of metal (preferably aluminum or an aluminum alloy) or plastic or a composite material or combinations thereof.
- the piercing means 25 in the present embodiment is provided with spikes (exemplified by the reference numeral 34). However, it could also be any other cutting means such as cutting edges, cutting corners, etc. formed.
- the end 27 is in the embodiment according to Fig. 3 is formed as a surface which is aligned substantially perpendicular to a foreseen movement of the piercing means 25.
- the piercing means 25 is formed as a rod 35, which at one end 36 against the wall 14 of the chamber 4, which preferably on a bottom 37 of the first chamber 2 is arranged, is applied.
- the end 36 is preferably designed disc-shaped and may preferably be designed as a sieve, in which case preferably the diameter of the end 36 corresponds to the inner diameter of the first chamber in this area.
- the rod 35 serves as a closure means, further, the rod 35 may be fixedly connected to an additionally arranged closure means 12, which is designed as a closing plate, and closes the opening in the illustrated storage condition firmly.
- Fig. 4B is shown a further variant in which the rod 35 is hollow and tubular and protrudes from the opening 23. Below the opening 23, the rod 23 has an opening 49. In the unused state, the rod 35 closes the opening 23. When the closure 22 is depressed, the rod 35 is pressed into the first chamber 2 and the second chamber 4 is destroyed analogously as described above. The bonding agent can then be poured out via the opening 49 in the rod and the hollow rod
- the variant according to Fig. 5 differs from the variant according to Fig. 2 in that the second chamber 4 extends from the sealing region 26 to the bottom 37 of the first chamber 2 opposite the spout 15, that is to say substantially perpendicular to the substantially annular sealing region 26.
- the wall 6 of the first chamber 2 is flexible in one direction 42, in particular compressible.
- the wall 14 of the second chamber 4 first breaks at a predetermined breaking point 43, whereupon the first and second components 3 and 5 mix with one another to form the adhesion promoter.
- the end 27 of the second chamber 4 preferably breaks off, as shown (see reference numeral 44). If a further predetermined force is applied to the piercing means 25 from below, then this comes into abutment with the end 45 of the second chamber 4 assigned to the predetermined breaking point 43. In the meantime, the multi-component packaging 1 can be shaken sufficiently to ensure the best possible mixing of the first and second components 3 or 5 to reach.
- the retaining means 28 tear off, as a result of which the spout 15 is released for providing the adhesion promoter and this can be released from the spout 16.
- the material of the wall 14 of the second chamber 4 may be formed such that it breaks completely when piercing by means of the penetration means 25 (bottom 37), preferably in many small pieces, in particular splinters, thereby simultaneously mixing the first and second components 3 and 5 and a release of the spout 15 respectively spout 16 is achieved.
- the second chamber 4 is preferably arranged in a region of the bottom 37 opposite the penetration means 25. It can be held there by suitable holding means (not shown).
- the retaining means 28 tear or elastically deform, thus providing the penetration means 25 for movement thereof in a direction opposite to the direction 46 relative to the first chamber 2 free.
- the spout 15 is released.
- the piercing means 25 impinges on the wall 14, in particular of glass, and breaks them, so that the first and second components 3 and 5 mix with one another to form the adhesion promoter.
- the adhesion promoter formed can now flow unhindered out of the spout 15 and then out of the spout 16 for application of the adhesion promoter.
- the holding means 28 are according to the embodiment according to Fig. 6 as a finger, as a rubber band and / or as a piercing means 25 at least partially formed on its circumference encompassing ring.
- the holding means 28 as a connected at its entire circumference with the wall 6 and the Abdicht Scheme 26, substantially cup-shaped intermediate wall, for example a membrane or a film formed, which closes the spout 15 independently fluid-tight.
- the penetrating means 25 experiences a predetermined acceleration 46, then it breaks through the intermediate wall 28, which is designed in particular as a foil.
- the further process corresponds to that used for the Fig. 6 has been described, ie the ball pierces the second chamber 4 and it comes to mixing the first and second components 3 and 5.
- a pouring of the adhesion promoter formed by the torn holding means 28 and pouring the same for application through the spout 15 and the pourer 16 is released.
- a filter may be mounted to filter out the parts of the second chamber.
- a closure means 12 which is designed here as a membrane. But this closure means can also be designed differently, it is only essential that it is destroyed by the penetration means and so the spout is released.
- This membrane is arranged in the region 36. If now the bottle is shaken, the second chamber 4, which is preferably configured as a glass ampoule, is destroyed by the piercing means and the second component 5 is released. Upon further shaking, the two components are mixed and the closure means 12 destroyed with further strong shaking.
- FIG. 10A, 10B and 10C a further embodiment of the invention is shown.
- the closure means 12 is designed as a hinged closure with a hinge 51 and bounced on the first chamber 2, that is, the spout 15 of the first chamber 4.
- an insert 52 with a Holder 50 inserted into the spout 15.
- the holder is designed to be movable, so that a web 53 of the holder 50 is pushed upwards. In the closed state of the closure means, this catch engages in the lower part of the closure means by means of an undercut, so that the cover 54 can not be opened.
- the holder 50 If now the holder 50 is moved in the direction of the cover, the web 53 hits the catch 55 and pushes it to the side, so that the snapper can no longer engage in the lower part of the closure means.
- the lid 54 is released and can be opened.
- the holder 50 can be held in the open position, so that the lid 54 can be closed and opened as desired.
- the second chamber 4 which is preferably configured as a glass ampoule, is destroyed by the piercing means 25 and the second component 5 is released.
- the two components are mixed and pressed with further strong shaking the holder 50 up, the web 53 releases the snapper 55 and the lid 54 can be opened and the mixed components are poured out.
- a coarse filter 57 can be arranged in the spout area, preferably in the holder. Further, in front of the pourer 16, a filter 58 may be arranged to filter out the finest parts.
- Fig. 11 is one too Fig. 10 illustrated analog embodiment.
- the second chamber 4 is held by the holder 50.
- the second chamber 4 is destroyed by shaking the piercing means 25, the holder, respectively the web 53 and thus the snapper 55, are moved to release the lid 54.
- the lid 54 may then be removed and the spout released by cutting off the tip of the spout.
- a closure means 12 shown there with cover and hinge can also be used, respectively in Fig. 11 the lid of Fig. 10 ,
- the invention is not limited to the specific structure of a multi-component package illustrated in the preceding figures.
- more than two chambers for example, three or four chambers may be provided, each containing different solid, liquid and / or gaseous components.
- the closure means may be mounted so that it can not be removed, for example, by welding, bouncing, etc.
