Definitions

  • the invention relates to a container blank made of cardboard for cuff-like laying around bottles, cans or other containers or other objects.
  • Carton blanks of paperboard have a top wall, a bottom wall and sidewalls, each connected by score lines at an upper side edge to a side edge of the top wall and at a bottom side edge to a side edge of the bottom wall.
  • the bottom wall or another of the said walls have separate sections between the creasing lines.
  • the container blank is folded around a group of bottles, cans or other containers or other objects, and the separated sections of the bottom wall are brought into an overlapping arrangement and connected by hooking or gluing together. As a result, the containers are combined into a container.
  • the container blanks are provided at the bottom and optionally at the top in the side walls with openings into which the lower edge regions and possibly the upper regions of the container partially protrude. As fall protection can also in the front openings standing in the flaps to be available. Examples of such container blanks are in DE 26 55 538 A1 . WO 97/28059 A1 and the EP 05 13 566 A1 described.
  • Known container blanks for containers with six 0.33 liter bottles have a basis weight of 370 - 400 g / m 2 . You can tear under stress.
  • the US 2,395,297 describes a cuff-like to be folded around bottles container blank with a strip-shaped handle, which is firmly connected at one end to a Dcckwand and at the other end with a plug in a plug-in slot of the bottom wall can be inserted.
  • the handle is to withstand high loads, the fibers of the cardboard material are oriented perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the handle. Further, the handle is provided with transverse to its longitudinal direction aligned bending lines to allow a curvature of the handle without unsightly wrinkles. If the handle is subjected to only light loads, the fibers of the cardboard material may be oriented perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the handle.
  • the handle can be designed without fold lines and yet bend evenly.
  • the object of the invention is to provide a container blank made of cardboard, which withstands loads better.
  • the container blank according to the invention of cardboard for cuff-like laying around bottles, cans or other containers or other objects has a top wall, a bottom wall and side walls each connected at an upper side edge to a side edge of the top wall and at a bottom side edge to a side edge of the bottom wall, at least one of the top, bottom and side walls between their side walls Edges have mutually separate portions which are connectable in an overlapping arrangement with each other, wherein the main load of the container blank is perpendicular to the lateral edges of the bottom, top and side walls, characterized in that the orientation of the fibers in the box parallel to the lateral edges the bottom, top and side walls and no bottom fold lines between the lower lateral edges of the side walls and the lateral edges of the bottom wall are present.
  • the fibers in the carton are aligned parallel to the lateral edges of the bottom, top and side walls.
  • the fibers are perpendicular to the lateral edges because the paperboard has the greatest resistance to tearing in the direction of the fibers and the bulk of the blister is perpendicular to the lateral edges.
  • Conventional container blanks are foldable only by Bodenrilllinien due to the orientation of the fibers perpendicular to the lateral edges in the packaging machine, which extend along the lateral edges of the bottom wall. Surprisingly, however, it has been found within the scope of the invention that the bottom run lines of conventional container blanks damage the fibers and thereby reduce the load capacity of the carton.
  • the connecting portions of the bottom wall and side walls are placed around the lower edges of the containers when the container blank is attached to a group of containers.
  • the connecting portions of the bottom wall and side walls are bent or folded around the lower edges of the containers. Preferably, they are bent around.
  • the lower edges of the containers can serve as a tool for bending or folding the joint areas.
  • the bending or folding of the lower edge regions of the side walls or the outer edge regions of the bottom wall takes place parallel to the fibers, so that they are not damaged. Due to the bending or folding around the orientation of the fibers, smooth, even bending radii or folded edges are achieved.
  • the existing between the fibers toothing in the cardboard material is maintained in the gentle bending or folding of the material.
  • a sufficiently stable container blank for a group of six 0.33 liter beverage bottles are produced from a kraft carton having a grammage of only 250 to 360 g / m 2 .
  • This also applies to a container blank, which is provided to secure bottles against falling out of the frontal openings with lower openings in the lower edge region of the side walls, which weaken this area.
  • the tensile strength of the paperboard is also sufficient when the fibers are aligned parallel to the lateral edges, even at reduced grammages.
  • the containers can be prevented from falling out of the frontal openings of the container blank by wrapping the container blanket sufficiently tautly the containers.
  • the side walls are provided at the lower lateral edge with lower openings for receiving lower edge regions of the container.
  • the container blank is placed around the bottles so that they protrude with lower edge regions in the lower openings and are prevented by this positive fit from falling out of the end openings.
  • end wall flaps may be present at the end openings, which at least partially close the end openings, for example, as in FIG DE 26 55 538 A1 or the EP 0513 566 A1 described.
  • the lower openings in the side walls widen down. As a result, they can accommodate a relatively large lower edge region of the bottles with a relatively small cross-section.
  • the lower openings extend from the lower lateral edges of the side walls into the bottom wall. This is favorable for Kraflübertechnisch from the bottom wall in the side walls. In particular, this can be avoided corners of the openings at the lower edges of the side walls, which can easily tear. It is also advantageous for the force transmission from the bottom wall into the side walls if, according to a further embodiment, the width of the lower openings in the bottom wall decreases with increasing distance from the lateral edges of the bottom wall.
  • the lower openings in the side walls trapezoidal or arched and / or trapezoidal or arched in the bottom wall, preferably the long side of the trapezoidal or arched opening falls into the lower lateral edges of the side walls or the lateral edges of the bottom wall ,
  • slots are provided in the side walls from the upper edges of the lower openings.
  • the slots allow adaptation to containers used and reduce loads applied to the area of the openings.
  • two mutually spaced slots extend from the upper edge of the lower openings.
  • the distance of the slots extending from the same lower opening increases with increasing distance from the upper edge of the lower opening.
  • the bottom wall on Pinolenausstanzonne can be used for the production of containers that can be used in quill boxes, in which several containers are transportable.
  • Quill boxes are used to transport returnable bottles. They engage with standing by a bottom plate sleeves in bottle interspaces. The pintles pass through the sleeve punched holes in the bottom wall of the Container blanks. After removing the container blanks, the bottles are individually adjustable in the Quill box, where they are held laterally by quills and possibly additional partitions, which also stand up from the bottom plate of the quill box.
  • the side walls at the upper lateral edges on upper openings for the partial reception of upper regions of the container.
  • the containers engage with the upper areas in the upper openings of the container blank placed around them. As a result, they are also prevented from falling out of the frontal openings.
  • an unfavorable exertion of force of the upper regions on the connecting region of side walls and top wall can be avoided.
  • the upper openings have a width which exceeds the diameter of crown caps. As a result, damage to the connection area of side walls and top wall can be avoided by crown corks.
  • the top wall is connected at the lateral edges with the side walls via fold lines. These are preferably designed as creasing lines.
  • the fold lines facilitate the attachment of the container blank to the upper regions of the container. This is especially true for embodiments in which the container blank is first placed with the top wall on the top of the containers, wrapped around the containers, and closed by connecting overlapping portions of the bottom wall or sidewall.
  • the invention makes use of the knowledge that the container blank is most heavily loaded in the connecting region of side walls and bottom wall, so that the Folding lines between the top wall and side walls are not critical weak points of the container blank.
  • the upper openings extend over the same distance away from the lateral edges of the top wall.
  • the central upper openings are extended away from the side edges of the top wall by a greater distance than the outer upper openings. This embodiment favors a lifting of the Mittclbercichs the top wall when it is provided with engagement openings or other gripping means.
  • the outer flanges can be kept taut in the container. This benefits the stability of the container.
  • At least the middle upper openings extend over a distance of at least 25 mm, preferably of a maximum of 60 mm, further preferably of not more than 40 mm, away from the lateral edge of the top wall.
  • the central top openings extend a distance in the range of about 30 to 35 mm from the side edges of the top wall.
  • the top wall has at least one engagement opening for carrying a container.
  • the engagement opening has hinged to the lateral edge of a handle flap which closes the container blank in the unused state and padded the edge of the same when engaged in the engagement opening.
  • the handle flap is connected to the opposite edge of its articulation via at least one web to the top wall.
  • two engagement openings are present in the top wall, which are spaced from each other. This allows carrying a container under engagement of thumb and forefinger in the engaging holes.
  • the engagement openings are spaced apart in the direction parallel to the lateral edges of the top wall.
  • cut lines extend from the engagement openings to the two lateral edges of the top wall and from the lateral edges of the back wall into the side walls. Preferably, the cut lines extend approximately the same distance from the upper lateral edges as the middle upper openings. The cutting lines, in cooperation with the engagement apertures, allow for lifting of a central region of the top wall from the containers, thereby facilitating engagement with the engagement apertures.
  • the bottom wall has separate sections.
  • the cardboard has a basis weight (grammage) of a maximum of 360 g / m 2 . It preferably has a basis weight of at most 300 g / m 2 . The basis weight is preferably at least 250 g / m 2 . Preferably, the paperboard has a basis weight in the range of about 270-290 g / m 2 . Further preferably, the carton is a kraft carton.
  • the invention further relates to a container comprising a group of containers and a container blank according to one of the preceding claims, which abuts with the top wall at the tops of the containers, with the side walls at the periphery of the container and with the bottom wall at the bottom of the container lateral edges of the side walls is wrapped around the lower edge regions of the container, wherein the portions of the at least one separate sections having wall overlap each other and are interconnected.
  • the bundle blank is wrapped around the lower edge portions of the containers at the lower lateral edges of the side walls, preferably crimped or folded over.
  • the lower edge areas of the containers can be used as a tool for bending or folding the connecting areas of side walls and bottom wall.
  • the containers engage with lower edge regions in lower openings of the container blank.
  • the containers engage with upper regions in upper openings of the container blank.
  • the lower or upper openings prevent falling out of bottles from the frontal openings of the container blank.
  • the overlapping portions of the at least one wall are glued together and / or hooked.
  • the containers are bottles. According to another embodiment, they are cans. Instead of the container, the container may also include other items.
  • top and bottom refer to the arrangement of the container blank in a container in which the containers are arranged with their opening area at the top and bottom with their bottom.
  • the container blank 1.1 according to Fig. 1 has a top wall 2, at the lateral edges of creasing lines 3, 4 side walls 5, 6 are articulated.
  • the side walls 5, 6 are connected to sections 7.1, 7.2 of a bottom wall 7.
  • lower openings 8, 9 are present in the lower edge region of the side walls 5, 6 and lateral edge regions of the sections 7.1, 7.2 of the bottom wall 7, lower openings 8, 9 are present. • the container blank 1.1 is with the top wall 2 on the bottle cap 20 of the bottles 19, wherein the projections 17, 18 cover the bottle cap 20 laterally.
  • the side walls 5, 6 abut the circumference of the bottles 19, wherein the bottles 19 engage with their upper portions 21 in the upper openings 15, 16.
  • the bottles 19 engage with their lower edge portions 22 in the sections 8.1, 9.1 of the lower openings 8, 9 a.
  • the sections 7.1, 7.2 are bent under the bottoms of the bottles 19 and glued together in overlapping areas.
  • complete sleeve holes 12 are formed by the edge superimposed Pinolenausstanzonne 12.1, 12.2.
  • the container blank 1.2 of Fig. 4 differs from the above-described in that the outer upper openings 15.2, 15.3, 16.2, 16.3 are formed in the direction perpendicular to the score lines 3, 4 shorter than the middle upper openings 15.1, 16.1.
  • the middle upper openings 15.1, 16.1 correspond to the middle upper openings of the previously described blank 1.1.
  • the lateral ones Upper openings taper directly from their starting point at the score lines 3, 4.
  • the container blank 1.2 has from the largest diameter of the Eingriffsofmitch 13.1, 13.2 outgoing cutting lines 23, 24 extending in the top wall 2 to the score lines 3, 4 and extending from the score lines 3, 4 in the side walls 5, 6 extend into it.
  • the cutting lines 23, 24 extend parallel, approximately up to the distance from the creasing lines, in which the boundaries of the middle upper openings 15.1, 16.1 run parallel. Starting from this point, the cutting lines 23, 24 diverge with increasing distance from the score lines 3, 4. They end approximately at the same distance from the score lines as the upper openings 15.1, 16.1.
  • this container blank 1.2 is attached in the same way to a group of bottles 19, as the previously described container blank 1.1.
  • the view of this container from below corresponds Fig. 3 ,

  • the side wall has 5 outer edges 27.2, 28.2, which taper approximately trapezoidal to the section 7.1 of the bottom wall 7.
  • the section 7.1 in turn has outside protruding outer edges 27.3, 28.3, which are partially rectilinear and partially curved.
  • the side wall 6 has outer edges 27.4, 28.4, which taper approximately trapezoidal in a short area and extend from the point at which the side wall 6 has its smallest width, again trapezoidal to section 7.2 of the bottom wall.
  • the section 7.2 of the bottom wall has in the outer edges 27.5, 28.3 recesses whose contour is complementary to the contour of the widenings of the section 7.1.
  • Fig. 11 can blanks 1.4 according to Fig. 10 saving material from a rectangular sheet 31 cardboard are punched out.
  • Adjacent blanks 1.4 are oriented in opposite directions. Due to the special shape of the contours of the outer edges of the blanks 10 adjacent blanks 1.4 engage each other, without causing waste during punching.
  • the blanks are 1.4 slightly laterally offset in the various rows with respect to each other. Only when punching the outer edges 27, 28 of the outermost rows of blanks 1.4 and at the end of each row of blanks 1.4 fall small amounts of waste.
