Claims (7)

  1. Vorrichtung zum Schutz eines Verbinders, umfassend zwei Verbinderelemente (1, 2), die mit offenen Enden versehen sind, die in einer Eingriffsrichtung ineinander gesteckt werden können, wobei die Vorrichtung eine erste Verschlusskappe (11) und eine zweite Verschlusskappe (21) umfasst, die jeweils mit einem der offenen Enden über eine Gelenkverbindung (12, 22) verbunden sind, die seitlich versetzt ist und eine zur Eingriffsrichtung parallele Achse hat, derart, dass jede Verschlusskappe zwischen einer Schließstellung und einer Freigabestellung des betreffenden offenen Endes verdrehbar ist, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Verschlusskappen jeweils eine Vorderseite haben, die mit Mitteln (17, 27) zu ihrer gegenseitigen drehfesten Verbindung um die Gelenkachse versehen sind, und dass die Gelenkverbindung der ersten Verschlusskappe an dem betreffenden Ende so gelagert ist, dass sie in Translationsrichtung parallel zur Eingriffsrichtung zwischen einer Stellung, die mit dem offenen Ende bündig ist, und einer vom offenen Ende zurückversetzten Stellung beweglich ist.
  2. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 1, umfassend mindestens ein Rückstellelement (14, 24) zum Rückstellen jeder der Verschlusskappen (11, 21) in eine Schließstellung.
  3. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 2, wobei das Rückstellelement der ersten Verschlusskappe (11) eine Schraubenfeder (15) ist, die so gelagert ist, dass sie auf Druck beansprucht wird, um die Verschlusskappe von der zurückversetzten Stellung in die bündige Stellung zu bringen, und auf Torsion beansprucht wird, um die Verschlusskappe von ihrer Freigabestellung in ihre Schließstellung zu bringen.
  4. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 1, wobei die Gelenkverbindung (12) der ersten Verschlusskappe (11) einen zur ersten Verschlusskappe seitlich versetzt abstehenden Zapfen (13) umfasst, der drehbar und verschiebbar in einer Gleitschiene aufgenommen ist, die fest mit dem betreffenden offenen Ende verbunden ist.
  5. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 4, wobei die Gleitschiene (114) einen axialen Schlitz (116) umfasst, der einen Verbindungsabschnitt (117) zum Verbinden der Verschlusskappe (111) mit dem Zapfen (113) verschiebbar aufnimmt.
  6. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 1, wobei die Verschlusskappen (11,21; 111, 211) aus einem bruchfesten Material, wie z. B. einem Elastomer sind.
  7. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 1, wobei die Verschlusskappen (11, 21; 111, 211) eine Innenseite umfassen, die mit einem Dichtungselement (29) versehen ist, um einen dichten Kontakt der Verschlusskappe in der Schließstellung an dem offenen Ende des Verbinderelements sicherzustellen.
