The feeder or feed dog (17) has a transport section (28) provided for implementation of a transport movement in a recess of a needle plate. The transport section is provided adjacent to a needle-movement area. A base plate (30) is provided for connecting the transport section with a feeder-carrier i.e. supporting bar. A feeder wall (32) is arranged under the transport section adjacent to the area. The wall is designed such that the wall runs on a side of a sewing needle, during mounting of the feeder. The needle is turned away from a gripper, which co-acts with the needle during sewing. An independent claim is also included for a sewing machine with a needle bar.

Description

The invention relates to a conveyor for transporting sewing material during the operation of a sewing machine according to the preamble of claim 1. Furthermore, the invention relates to a sewing machine with such a conveyor.

Such a carrier is among others from the JP 2004/174120 A known. From the DE 100 02 456 A1 is a fabric feeder with two sliders known between which a stitch hole is limited to a sewing needle. An adjustment device with a bridge in the form of a cam member connects the two feed valves such that a distance between them is adjustable. The GB 209,039 shows cloth slide mechanisms for sewing machines.

When operating a sewing machine, it can, in particular when heavy materials such as leather are processed, come to deformations of the sewing needle to break the sewing needle. In addition, when caused by sewing material deformation of the sewing needle before that skip stitches are generated because a loop of the guided from the sewing needle upper thread is not taken correctly by the hereby cooperating stitch forming tool.

It is an object of the present invention to develop a conveyor of the type mentioned in such a way that the likelihood of needle breakage and / or a missed stitch is reduced.

This object is achieved by a conveyor with the features specified in claim 1.

According to the invention it has been recognized that an adjustable conveyor wall provides the ability to effectively secure the sewing needle in operation on the side facing away from the stitch forming tool, which interacts with the needle when sewing with the needle, against an undesirable deflection, for example by heavy material. The conveyor wall can be adjusted so that even small deflections of the sewing needle in the direction of the feed dog wall caused that the feed dog wall supports the sewing needle and thus prevents breakage or bending of the sewing needle. In addition, it is ensured by the adjustable conveyor wall that a thread loop or loop is not undesirable on the side facing away from the needle forming tool cooperating with the side avoids. The suture loop can then be securely grasped by the stitch forming tool. The sewing machine can be a single-needle machine or a two-needle machine. When the sewing machine is designed as a two-needle machine, two conveyor walls can be provided which, when the feed dog of the two-needle machine is mounted, are respectively arranged opposite an associated embroidery-forming tool, for example a gripper, facing away from it. Instead of two conveyor walls can be provided in the execution as a two-needle machine and a common conveyor wall, which is formed on both sides for supporting one of the two needles of the two-needle machine.

A continuous adjustability of the distance of claim 2 leads to the possibility of a particularly fine and thus accurate specification of the distance of the conveyor wall to the needle movement range. Alternatively, an adjustability of the distance via one or more stages is possible.

An adjustment device according to claim 3 can be realized with low production costs.

A weakening section according to claim 4 represents a solid-state joint for the defined deflection of the conveyor wall for setting this.

A reduction in the thickness of the wall thickness in the weakening section according to claim 5 has been found to be particularly suitable for producing an elastic displacement of the conveyor wall for setting of this.

Durchgangsnuten according to claim 6 improve the deflectability of the conveyor wall when setting this. The passage grooves are designed in particular as blind grooves, so that despite the passage grooves, the conveyor wall is integrally connected to the adjacent portions of the body.

An improved deflectability of the conveyor wall is particularly valid for an embodiment of the adjusting device according to claim 7.

An embodiment of the adjusting device according to claim 8 allows easy adjustment.

An embodiment of the carrier-fixed adjusting section according to claim 9 is particularly stable. In this embodiment, the carrier-fixed adjustment section is not a separate component from the feed dog. The adjustment section can be an integral part of the basic body. A mobility of the carrier-fixed adjustment section to the conveyor wall can then be achieved via a solid-state joint. The solid-state joint can be designed as a weakening section in the transition region between the conveyor wall and a carrier base body be. In principle, a multi-part embodiment of the transporter is possible in which, for example, the adjustment section represents a part detachable from the other transporter. Also, an embodiment of the adjustment section as a pivoting element, which is connected via a pivot joint with the main body of the conveyor, is possible.

The advantages of a sewing machine according to claim 10 correspond to those which have been explained above with reference to the conveyor according to the invention.

Fig. 2 shows the stitching area of the sewing machine 1 more in detail. Shown is the situation after the sewing needle 10 is withdrawn from the tap hole 18 out again towards the top dead center. The needle thread 13 forms below the stitch hole 18 a needle thread loop 26, which is knotted in the subsequent knotting with a lower thread 27. The latter is fed to the stitch formation area of a coil or thread winding housing housed in the gripper body 20. In Fig. 2 a direction of sewing is indicated by a directional arrow N.

Fig. 3 bis 6 zeigen den Transporteur 17 im Detail. Fig. 3 to 6 show the conveyor 17 in detail. This has an upper transport section 28 with a both sides of the stitch hole 18 sawtooth running surface for frictional engagement with the fabric 15. The transport section 28 leads in the cloth slide opening 16, ie in the throat plate recess, a transport movement, controlled by the push and screw gear out. Since the transporting portion 28 annularly surrounds the stitch hole 18, the transporting portion 28 is the needle moving portion 29, which in the Fig. 6 indicated by dashed lines, adjacent.

About a main body 30 of the transport section 28 is fixedly connected to a feed carrier in the form of a support beam 31, which in turn is part of the thrust and lifting gear for the conveyor 17.

A conveyor wall 32 is disposed below the transport section 28 adjacent to the needle-moving area 29. The conveyor wall 32 runs at mounted transporter 17 (see. Fig. 2 ) on that side of the needle 10, which faces away from a stitch forming tool, which cooperates with the needle 10 during sewing, that is from the gripper tip 21 of the gripper 19. The needle 10 is thus in the bottom dead center between the conveyor wall 32 and an optional needle guard plate of the gripper 19th

Der Abstand A (vgl. Fig. 6 ) of the conveyor wall 32 to the needle movement area 29 is adjustable via an adjusting device 33. The latter is listed for continuous adjustment of the distance A. The adjusting device 33 has a carrier-fixed adjusting portion 34. This is formed as mounted transporter 17 horizontally extending web which is integrally connected to the main body 30 of the conveyor 17. Furthermore, the adjusting device 33 has an adjusting body 35 in the form of a hexagon socket screw, which serves as a set screw. The adjusting body 35 is screwed into a complementary internal thread 36 of the carrier-fixed adjustment section 34. With a free end 37, the adjusting body 35 is supported against the side facing away from the needle-movement region 29 side of the conveyor wall 32 from. Depending on the depth of engagement of the adjusting body 35 in the internal thread 36, the adjusting body 35 is supported against the carrier-fixed adjustment section 34 on the one hand and against the conveyor wall 32 on the other hand with adjustable force.

The conveyor wall 32 has between a support portion 38, on which the adjusting body 35 is supported, and a transition portion 39 (see FIG. Fig. 6 ) towards the transport section 28 a weakening section 40 with reduced wall thickness. In the weakening section 40, the wall thickness of the conveyor wall 32 is approximately halved.

Fig. 4) getrennt. The conveyor wall 32 is of adjacent sections 41 via passageways 42 (see FIG. Fig. 4 ) separated. The adjusting body 35 is supported on the conveyor wall 32 on the support section 38, ie at the free end of the conveyor wall 32, between the two passage grooves 42.

In the adjustment of the conveyor wall 32 of the adjusting body, so the hexagon socket screw 35, as long screwed until the needle 10 at bottom dead center just at the then in the direction of the needle-movement area 29 to be moved transporter wall 32 passes. The set transporter wall 32 is compared to the force-free neutral position after Fig. 6 due to the force effect of the adjusting body 35 in the region of the support portion 38 about the weakening portion 34 to the needle-moving portion 29 to be pivoted. The weakening section 40 serves as a solid-state joint.

If the needle 10 should be deflected away from the gripper 19, for example when piercing heavy materials such as leather, this undesired displacement movement of the needle 10 is prevented by abutment of the needle 10 on the adjusted transporter wall 32. The conveyor wall 32 thus acts as a counter support for the needle 10 in the opposite direction to the supporting action of an optionally present needle guard plate of the gripper 19.

In addition, the set feed dog wall 32 ensures that the needle thread loop 26, which in the loop stroke position, in the Fig. 2 is shown, is formed, not undesirable from the gripper 19 can dodge away, since this evasive movement is prevented by the feed dog wall 32.

Depending on the strength of the sewing needle 10 used, the conveyor wall 32 can be finely adjusted via the adjusting body 35 in a simple manner.
