  • This object is obtained according to the present invention by the method of the appended claim 6, in more detail by a method for a dish washing or fabric washing machine of the initially mentioned kind, for selecting a washing program on said machine, which is characterized in that a certain running time is set from a number of eligible running times, the time being set on time setting means 16 as part of the selection means, said set running time being indicateded on said indicating means, wherein said memory unit contains a separate washing program for each of said eligible running times, the operating control unit activating a washing program that corresponds to the set running time.

Even though this step is started, this machine will signal on the display 13 that the washing program has finalized. Consequently, this extra drying program step is not part of the washing program.
  • the washing results depends on three parameters which are water temperature, detergent chemistry and time.
  • the detergent effect is improved at higher temperature and at longer time. If the amount of detergent is the same despite which running time that is chosen and the water heating power is the same, the time parameter itself will control the washing result.
