Description
The invention relates to a retractable lateral barrier bed, including a patient bed; it relates more particularly to an improvement to increase the protection height offered by said barrier, all things being equal.
There is a patient bed equipped with a side barrier mounted along the frame or frame of this bed. To allow access to the bed and facilitate care, it is known to combine such a barrier to a mechanical system with deformable parallelogram comprising two pivoting arms attached to the fixed frame of the bed or to an equivalent structure. Under these conditions, it is possible to lower or raise the barrier, substantially parallel to itself, the movement being accompanied by a translation-rotation parallel to the longitudinal dimension of the bed. In such a mechanism, it is desirable to increase the distance between the upper bar of the barrier in the raised position and the sleeping plane. However, in this same position, the lower edge of the barrier must not be located too high.
In addition, in the lowered position, the lower edge of the barrier must be at a sufficient distance from the ground. All of these requirements are subject to a standard. The taking into account of all these constraints would lead to increase the height of the sleeping surface to be able to associate the bed with a higher barrier. This is undesirable because said sleeping plan must be relatively low to reduce the risk of falling of the patient, and facilitate the transfer of the patient out of bed and vice versa.
From a mechanical point of view, it is known to "complete" the deformable parallelogram system by a lower bar articulated to both arms at both ends. This bar which will be called hereinafter "deployment bar", aims to make reliable the kinematics of the system avoiding blockages. Conventionally, this bar is installed in a box fixed under the frame of the bed and relatively bulky.
The invention aims to reconcile all the requirements mentioned above while avoiding the disadvantages of the previous device that has just been analyzed.
To this end, the invention relates to a retractable side barrier bed of the type comprising a main barrier element associated with a deformable parallelogram mechanism hinged to a frame of the bed or similar structure, said mechanism comprising two parallel arms each having a joint to said frame and an articulation to said main barrier element, a deployment bar being further articulated between said arms, characterized in that said mechanism is completed by a lower extension connected to said deployment bar by a sliding connection and in that said Extender is slidable along vertical guide means carried by said main barrier member.
For example, said extension can be carried by two axes respectively integral with the deployment bar, each axis being engaged in a light of the extension. The arrangement can obviously be reversed.
Locking means which are not part of the invention and will not be described in detail are provided to define the stable positions, high, low and possibly intermediate of the main barrier element and consequently those of the extension which according to one possible embodiment, is deployed downwards when the main barrier element is in the up position and, on the contrary, retracted inside the main barrier element when the latter is in the low position .

According to an important characteristic, the mechanism is completed by a
In the example, the two
The
According to yet another variant, the upper ends of the two arms could be engaged in the cavity.
