Description

DISPOSITIF D'HUISSERIE HARDWARE DEVICE
Elle concerne plus précisément un dispositif pouvant recouvrir des huisseries existantes réalisées en PVC.The present invention relates to a frame device, preferably plastic. It relates more specifically to a device that can cover existing frames made of PVC.
In the context of the present invention, the frame refers to the frame (or fixed) forming the frame of an outer door or internal communication. This frame is composed of two vertical uprights or jambs and at least one horizontal crossbar or lintel. Each amount or crosses a frame is constituted by a central covering intended to conceal the thickness of the wall, a doorframe and a counter-jamb. A rabbet, against which the movable part (the opening) is applied, is generally practiced in the doorframe or constituted by the junction of the door frame and the central cladding.
An old frame may need to be replaced for various reasons, for example when it is damaged or deemed unsightly. Among these reasons is also the situation in which the opening must be replaced (also for example for reasons related to the aesthetics or the poor condition of said opening) and that there is no commercial opening in which the profiles correspond to the dimensions of the existing frame. It would then be necessary to have a tailor made, or to adapt it to the existing frame, which is often a delicate task requiring specialized labor and tools.
One solution may be to remove the existing frame and replace it with a new frame. This solution is however not without drawbacks. In particular, the removal of the old frame causes the destruction of the surrounding masonry. The installation of the new frame then requires heavy work of masonry, plastering and wall decoration, long and costly operations, causing discomfort for the occupant of the premises and a financial embarrassment to the owner of said premises.
However, these devices have the disadvantage of being complex for the installer because they are formed of a large number of parts interconnected by mechanical fixing means detrimental to the aesthetics of the assembly and making the assembly long and complicated . A first renovation solution has been developed with wooden frames. It consists in the conservation of the old wooden sleepers and to bring back on them a new plastic joinery (PVC) in the new sleepers and their opening are applied in applique on the old dormant wooden. This solution has the advantage of avoiding masonry work and finishing thereafter, but has the following drawbacks: questionable aesthetics: assembly of materials of different nature (wood / plastic) reduction of the glazing clear, due to laying a new frame on the old frames of the frame
A second solution inspired by the previous one but applied to plastic door frames (PVC) was developed. Again, it has the same major drawbacks, to which is added the fact that the superposition of PVC profiles, which are of consistent section taking into account the mechanical properties to be obtained, impacts all the more the reduction of clear glazing.
The object of the present invention is to propose a new device for a doorframe for renovating the aforementioned drawbacks. The subject of the invention is a renovation frame intended to cover an existing frame, in particular made of plastic material, composed of vertical uprights and horizontal crosspieces forming a dormant frame, characterized in that the renovation frame comprises a thin section comprising at least two intersecting ribs, a first rib being adapted to cover at least part of the counter-frame of the fixed frame, a second rib being adapted to cover at least in part the central covering of the frame, the second rib being provided at its free end with a third rib extending substantially in a direction parallel to said first rib, said third rib being adapted to hide at least partly a rebate zone made in the old frame, and in that a drainage hole is made in the junction zone between the second rib and the third rib.
The renovation frame mounted on the old frame against the casing and the central cladding advantageously cooperates to form a single element, either by mechanical assembly of two initially distinct profiles, or by initial manufacture of only one profile. The mechanical assembly can be done by the techniques known to those skilled in the art, such as gluing, nailing, welding, rabbet assembly, tongue and groove, trunnions, miter etc.
In preferred embodiments of the invention, one or more of the following arrangements may also be used: the first rib has a retention zone adapted to receive a fixing device of said frame with the old frame, the third rib has a perpendicular projecting end portion adapted to cooperate with a concealing cover against the door jamb - the end portion is provided with a seal the renovation frame is made from a pultrusion of thermoplastic fibers and a resin, preferably a polyester resin the renovation frame is coated with a finishing skin, in particular based on PVC,
The mounting of the frame is thus done in a simple and extremely fast way The installation obviously does not require masonry work and a simple gluing or screwing is sufficient for fixing the new frame on the old, fixing being done usually at the level of the frame.
The frame according to the invention thus makes it easy to adapt to all the dimensions of an existing frame that one wishes to renovate.
The door frame according to the invention also preferably comprises separate cladding elements for connecting the renovation frame to the wall.
The invention also relates to an element with a glass function, such as window, glass door, glass partition, fixed window, glass flap, sliding glass door, glazed furniture element, comprising an opening and a frame according to the invention. The present invention will be better understood on reading the detailed description below of a non-limiting exemplary embodiment illustrated by the attached figure.
Figure 2 illustrates a horizontal sectional view of a carpentry according to Figure 1, on which is reported a new carpentry using traditional renovation techniques.
Figure 3 illustrates a horizontal sectional view showing a joinery according to Figure 1 incorporating the door frame of the invention. Figure 4 is a sectional view of the renovation frame alone.
On this wall is joined an insulation element 2, typically of the glass fiber wool type, rock wool, or plastic material having thermal insulation properties (expanded polystyrene for example) and finally this insulation element 2 being itself coated with a finishing coating 3 (plaster, paint, wallpaper ..)
In this complex is practiced an opening 4 in which is mounted according to traditional techniques (applied, embedded) a frame 5 window or more generally a bay.
This window frame 5 conventionally comprises a door frame consisting of a frame 6 mounted by fitting or applied within the opening 4 made in the wall 1 and an opening 7 hinged in this embodiment by means of hinges 8 compared to the frame 6. The opening traps a substrate 9 glass function.
In the embodiment shown in Figure 1, both the profiles of the frame 6 that those of the opening 7 are made of plastic, typically PVC (polyvinyl chloride) by an extrusion technique. As can be seen in Figure 1, a seal 10 is attached to the mounting between the frame 6 and the masonry element 1. Similarly seals including lip 12a and 12b provide a seal between the frame and the opening in the closed position of the glass-function element.
As can be seen in FIG. 2, the old frame 6 is retained and it is put down in place of the opening 7, a new complete joinery. This new carpentry, also based on PVC, for example, conventionally includes a 6 'dormant and an opening 7' articulated using hinge 8. The new frame 6 'is secured to the old frame 6 by fasteners 13 (in this embodiment, it is screws) . This solution is however satisfactory: it involves a superposition of profiles that compete on the one hand, to a very questionable aesthetic (a certain heaviness) and on the other hand, to a reduction of clear glazing.
In Figure 3, there is shown the solution subject of the invention. On the frame 6 of the old joinery shown in Figure 1, there is reported a part 14 which is an adapter profile which is a substitute for the new frame 6 'known solutions for renovation of the prior art (refer to Figure 2). )
This piece 14 is interposed between the new opening 7 "and the old frame 6 and is secured to the old frame 6 by fasteners 13 (screw, rivet or the like).
This part 14 is advantageously produced by a pultrusion process of fibers made of high performance material, or yarns for technical use, in particular glass yarns and plastic fibers, of the polyester type in order to confer on the latter properties mechanical resistance. Alternatively, this adaptation piece 14 can be made of wood, metal, MDF or an assembly of these materials (wood or plastic veneer on a metal core).
This piece 14 extends in the form of a thin-walled profile comprising a succession of intersecting ribs.
Thus, a first rib 15 is adapted to cover at least part of the counter-frame of the frame of the old frame 6, a second rib 16 positioned substantially perpendicular to the first rib 15 is adapted to cover at least partially the central cladding of the frame of the old frame 6 and finally a third rib 17 substantially parallel to the first rib 15 and perpendicular to the second rib 16 and is adapted to hide at least partly a rebate area made in the old frame.
Within the meaning of the invention, the term "adapted" when used with the notion of rib means that the characteristic dimensions of the ribs (length, thickness, width) are chosen in a suitable manner to allow recovery of the respective parts next to the old sleeper to hide it.
The third rib has a terminal portion 19 projecting perpendicularly for mounting or cooperation with a covering cover 18 of the counter-jamb, it is for example a system by fitting or clipping. It may also be noted that the end portion 19 is provided with a seal 20 and that a drainage orifice 21 is formed in the junction zone between the second rib and the third rib.
Un alésage 25 réalisé au niveau de la première nervure 15 peut être éventuellement utilisé pour le passage d'une pièce de renfort (tige métallique par exemple).Figure 4 shows on a large scale the adapter part 14 which is overmolded by a plastic skin, the latter may be of similar color or different from the color of the core. As can be seen, the overmouldings obtained by an extrusion technique make it possible to provide additional functionalities to the part 14. It is thus possible to create seals 21, 22 or grooves 23 for the passage of the locking members (Cremone bolt, latch, keeper) or the retention zone 24 for the fixing member 13. A bore 25 made at the first rib 15 may be optionally used for the passage of a reinforcing piece (metal rod for example ).
The present invention as described above offers multiple advantages, it allows: a minimum reduction of the glazing clear, easy laying applied, conservation of the thermal insulation, compatibility of installation with a wide range of sleepers also in plastic material, adaptability with a wide range of openings, improvement of the thermal performances, acoustics, and sealing of the whole of the bay.
