  5. An apparatus (1) according to at least one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the first gripping element (12) of the first gripping device (4) is capable of being actuated by pneumatic means (22, 24) .
  6. An apparatus (1) according to at least one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the second gripping element (17) of the second gripping device (6) is capable of being actuated by pneumatic means (24, 26).
  7. An apparatus (1) according to at least one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the apparatus (1) has a pneumatic connection for the pneumatic actuation both of the first gripping element (12) and for the pneumatic actuation of the second gripping element (17).
  8. An apparatus (1) according to at least one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the first gripping device (4) has a supply duct (22) for an actuating fluid which actuates the first gripping elements (12).
  9. An apparatus (1) according to claim 8, characterized in that the first supply duct (22) is closed with respect to the carrier (2) in at least one position of the first gripping device (4).
  10. An apparatus (1) according to at least one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the second gripping device (6) has a second supply duct (26) for an actuating fluid which actuates the second gripping elements (17).
  11. An apparatus (1) according to claim 9, characterized in that the apparatus (1) has a central supply duct (24) for the actuating fluid, which supplies both the first supply duct (22) and the second supply duct (26) with the actuating fluid.
  12. An apparatus (1) according to at least one of the preceding claims, characterized in that at least one gripping device (4, 6) is pre-stressed with respect to the carrier (2) by means of a springing device (34, 36).
  13. A method of gripping a container (10), characterized in that the container (10) is gripped by means of an apparatus (1) for gripping containers (10), wherein this apparatus (1) for gripping containers (10) has a first gripping device (4) and a second gripping device (6), wherein the container (10) is optionally gripped by the first gripping device (4) on its external periphery or with the second gripping device (6) on its internal periphery.
  14. A method according to claim 13, characterized in that the first gripping device (4) is movable in a longitudinal direction (L) of the apparatus (1) independently of the second gripping device (6).
