Definitions
- the invention relates to a traveling-wave tube arrangement with a delay line surrounded by a vacuum envelope and a decoupling arrangement.
- Wanderfeldröhren contain within a vacuum envelope a delay line, which is typically designed as a helical line or, in particular for higher frequencies than multiply deflected waveguide structure.
- An electron beam guided in a magnetic field and propagating along the delay line in the high vacuum present within the vacuum envelope interacts with a radio frequency (RF) signal injected on an input side of the delay line, the radio frequency signal being an amplified RF output signal on an output side of the delay line can be tapped off and decoupled by means of a decoupling device through the vacuum envelope to an output circuit arranged outside this, for example an antenna arrangement.
- the decoupling assembly includes a decoupling line and, when passing through the vacuum envelope, a seal n the shape of a dielectric material called a vacuum window.
- the high-frequency decoupling line is usually designed as a coaxial line, but can also be formed by a waveguide.
- the high-frequency decoupling line With increasing output power of the RF output signal occur higher electric fields, eg. B. between the inner conductor and outer sheath of a coaxial line, which can lead to unwanted secondary electron emission by so-called multipaction or field flashovers in the form of a so-called corona.
- Such effects can lead to errors in the RF output signal or, in the worst case, to the destruction of the tube.
- the present invention has for its object to provide a traveling wave tube arrangement in which the risk of said disturbing effects at higher output power is reduced.
- the partial services which are decoupled via the multiple decoupling lines are advantageously the same size.
- exactly two coupling lines are provided, which are passed through in each case one of two separate vacuum windows.
- the distribution of the total output power of the tubes to partial powers is advantageously carried out by means of a power divider arrangement with an input port at the output of the delay line and a plurality of decoupled output ports.
- the branch lines advantageously form transformation lines in the form of quarter wavelength lines at the operating frequency in a manner known per se. Due to the terminating resistor, the two output ports are decoupled from each other.
- An impedance matching between the characteristic impedance of the delay line and the characteristic impedance of an external circuit connected to the output ports of the divider is advantageously possible at the same time via the branch lines.
- the output ports of the divider and the terminating resistor are advantageously outside the vacuum envelope.
- the transformation lines, including the vacuum windows, are part of the coupling-out arrangement.
- the delay line advantageously has a low-pass characteristic and is preferably designed in a manner known per se as a helical line or a ring-land line.
- the RF decoupling lines are advantageously carried out at least partially, in particular on a delay line facing portion in coaxial and galvanically connected to the delay line in particular one of the aforementioned types.
- the coupling lines can be designed completely as coaxial lines.
- a mixed form of coaxial line and waveguide be provided, in particular in such a way that an initial portion of the coupling line is carried out in coaxial technology, which is followed by a waveguide section, wherein advantageously the dielectric vacuum window is arranged in the region of the waveguide section.
- the coupling lines of Auskoppelan extract are advantageously carried out in coaxial technology.
- the invention is particularly advantageous at an operating frequency of the traveling-wave tube arrangement in a range below 8 GHz.
- the decoupled via the separate coupling lines part services can be brought together again in an external circuit in an advantageous embodiment, so that as in the case of decoupling via only one decoupling line, the entire output power is available for an application.
- the separately decoupled part services can also be used separately and z. B. transmit power for two separate RF antennas.
- Fig. 1 is denoted VL a delay line, in particular a helical line, which has a characteristic impedance ZL.
- a decoupling point AP of the delay line is connected to the input port TE of a Wilkinson divider WT.
- Output gates T1, T2 of the Wilkinson divider each have one Characteristic impedance ZO, which in particular may be 50 ohms according to the value customary in HF applications.
- the two output ports T1, T2 are connected to one another via a terminating resistor AW, which is preferably designed as a real resistor to a value 2 ZO.
- the branch lines L1, L2 connecting the input port to the output ports in a Wilkinson divider are designed as quarter wavelength lines and advantageously also serve to transform the characteristic impedance Z1 of the delay line VL on the characteristic impedance ZO to the output ports ZO.
- the branch lines have this z.
- the branch lines L1, L2 are guided in vacuum windows F1, F2 of dielectric material through the vacuum envelope HU.
- the helical line VL and the input port TE of the divider are located in a high vacuum area VA surrounded by a vacuum envelope HU.
- the output ports T1, T2 and the terminating resistor AW are preferably located outside the vacuum envelope HU in the ambient pressure PU.
- each of the two branch lines L1, L2 half of the entire output line is coupled out and fed to an external circuit AB, which in particular can contain an HF antenna arrangement.
- the decoupled via the coupling lines L1, L2 through the vacuum envelope and at the output ports T1, T2 available part services can be summarized in the outer circuit again and further processed together, z. B. as a single feed power for an antenna.
- the partial outputs available at the output ports T1, T2 can also be processed separately in the external circuit be, for. B. as a power supply for two separate sub-antennas or antenna elements of an antenna array.

Abstract
Description
Dabei zeigt:
- Fig. 1
- ein Prinzipschaltbild mit einem Wilkinson-Teiler,
- Fig. 2
- ein Beispiel einer Anordnung zweier Auskoppelleitungen.
- In
