Definitions
- the invention relates to an overhang strip and then to a building equipped with such a strip; it also relates to a headband extension having similar properties and sets comprising the headband or the enhancement.
- These bands are used to dress the lateral overhangs of the roofs to cover protruding portions of the elements, rafters or trusses, carrying roof covering elements. They can also support gutters.
- An example of a headband, among other models, is illustrated in the French patent 2,892,741 .
- a disadvantage that can be blamed in general to the existing bands is a certain complexity of the assembly in which they participate, a difficulty of their mounting on the support elements of the roof (the fitter must adjust itself the position of the bands), and finally a difficulty to properly place the gutters when the headband wears them.
- the bands have horizontal grooves for receiving means for attaching the gutter supports, but one is then no longer in charge of adjusting the vertical position of the gutter or its slope, and the assembly may need to slide the gutter supports along the grooves, which is not convenient.
- the invention makes it possible to better integrate the strips into their mounting environment by providing them with functional links with it; in a preferred embodiment of the invention, the strips cooperate with particular gutter supports that allow them to be assembled easily and in an original way.
- the invention in its most general form, relates to a headband or an extension of roof overhang characterized in that it comprises a domed top edge for supporting roof covering elements.
- the support is either direct or is carried out via a thin and flexible profile mounted on the bulge, which still plays its role of support.
- Another important advantage of the bulge is that it can easily be surrounded by snap grooves of an assembly element such as an extension of the strip or such a thin section.
- the strip also comprises, to an inner side according to the mounting state, a horizontal shelf for abutting on the load-bearing elements of the roof covering elements; it can still include a groove dug in this inner side just on the horizontal shelf.
- Another aspect of the invention is therefore a building comprising such strips, in which the roof covering elements, tiles, slates or others, are posed on the bulges of the bands which they overhang.
- Another aspect of the invention is a building comprising strips as defined above, studs (points or nails) driven into the bands, and gutter supports docked to the bands by rear faces provided with slots each comprising a end of the slot at the upper end, opposite edges of the grooves being retained between the strips and the heads of the studs, the ends of the slot butting the studs.
- a building (partially shown here) comprises a wall 1 whose upper part carries oblique chevrons 2, projecting from the wall 1 and bearing tiles 3 or other roofing elements.
- the outer face of the rafters 2 is tapered and vertical, and strips 4 are fixed to it by points 5 nailed from the outside through the band 4. These bands 4 still bear supports 6 of a gutter.
- Sub-faces 7 of the roof extend under the rafters 2 in being thrown between the wall 1 and the strips 4; they are supported by battens 8 of the frame fixed against the wall 1 and in lower grooves 9 established in the strips 4.
- the strip 4 comprises first a bulge 10 at its upper edge, whose surface tilts downwards with a steeper slope as one approaches the outer side 11 (away from the wall 1 ) of the strip 4.
- the bulge 10 having a rounded crown face, it can receive the tiles 3 whatever their inclination without inconvenience or damage provided that it is quite rigid and resistant, which can be obtained for example if it is a structure solid (solid) and indeformable, and rigidly connected to the rest of the strip 4, and in particular a room with him, what has been shown.
- the tiles 3 of the edge row being carried by strips 4, it becomes possible to remove a truss at the end of the rafters 2, which simplifies the arrangement of the eaves roof.
- the inner side 12 further comprises, at its lower part, a horizontal shelf 13 projecting towards the wall 1, on which there is a groove 14 dug in the inner edge 12.
- the shelf 13 serves to abut against the lower edge of the rafters 2 and thus provides a reference for positioning the height of the strips 4: the operator no longer has to worry about aligning them himself.
- the groove 14 serves to receive the splinters of the rafters to allow them to not stuff at the assembly, which safeguards the quality of it.
- the invention can be implemented with solid strips or honeycomb structure, thermoplastic material as is usual in modern buildings or other materials; the rafters 2 may be replaced by trusses or other support elements, and the tiles 3 by slates or other roofing elements.
- the figures 2 and 3 represent one of the strips 4 which has been assembled, by screwing or otherwise, a stud 15 or 16 comprising a non-visible rod here embedded in the material of the strip 4 and a protruding head on the outside and which can be round to the figure 3 or oblong at the figure 2 (provided with flats 17 opposed, directed upwards and downwards).
- the figures 4 and 5 illustrate the mounting gutter supports 6 and their constitution. Their part of docking to the strips 4 is a section extending vertically in the assembled state and whose section is rectangular, with a slot 19 dividing the rear side 20 on a part of the height.
- the gutter support 6 is reversed and approached the stud 15 by sliding horizontally on the outer side 11 of the strip 4.
- the flats 17 giving the head of the pad 15 a width smaller than that of the slot 19, can be slid the docking portion 18 around the pad 15 until at the bottom of the slot 19 without exerting effort.
- the gutter support 6 is then moved a quarter turn while maintaining the posterior side 20 in contact with the strip 4, so that the head of the pad 15 having a width greater than that of the slot 19 in a horizontal dimension, the edges 21 and 22 of the groove 19 are introduced between the head of the stud 15 and the outer side of the strip 4: the gutter support 6 resists tearing, and the stud 15 maintains it at the right height thanks to the stop at the bottom of the slot 19.
- the device is shown at figure 6 .
- a similar result is obtained with the round-headed pad of the figure 3 , but the gutter support 6 can then be introduced by a vertical slip without it being necessary to turn it later, as the figure 5 illustrated.
- the worker himself places the ankles 15 or 16 in the bands 4 after defining the height of the gutter and the slope he wants to give it.
- the figure 7 shows that the bulge 10 can serve as a support base for a riser 25 whose effect is to increase the height of the strip 4 by extending it. It includes itself a bulge 26 of similar shape to the bulge 10 to serve the same functions, including the support of an additional extension if necessary.
- the outer 11, 23 and inner sides 12, 24 of the strip 4 and the extension 25 are both provided with an outer groove 27 and an inner groove 28, and the riser comprises an outer lug 29 and an inner lug 30 provided with internal beaks 31 and 32 respectively turned towards the grooves 27 and 28 and able to engage therein, the tabs 29 and 30 diverging when the raising element 25 is pressed on the bulge 10 (or 26), a snap of the extension 25 being obtained when the beaks 31 and 32 have penetrated into the grooves 27 and 28.
- the tabs 29 and 30 have external faces, opposite to the beaks 31 and 32, rectilinear and extending the inner and outer sides 24 and 23 of the main part of the extension 25, and also extending the outer 11 and inner 12 of the strip 4 when the snap is achieved, to give a smooth appearance of the assembly of the strip 4 and the extension 25 to the top of the extension 25.
- the bulge 10 (or 26) is thinner than the strip 4 or the extension 25 to hold without constraint in a housing 33 in the between-lugs 29 and 30.
- the beaks 31 and 32 have complementary sections to the grooves 27 and 28 associated therewith.
- one of the tabs 30 is thicker than the other, on which the detent deformations are concentrated, and its beak 32 is larger, to give a more stable and stronger assembly.
- the figure 8 illustrates finally that a roof overhang fence profile, called sparrow guard 34, can also be snapped onto the bulge 10 (or 26) instead of the extension 25.
- It comprises flexible vertical strips 35 in a row that the profile lower of the tiles 3 curved so that the yawns under the tiles 3 are closed without changing the positon thereof, and a base 36 on which stand up the flexible vertical strips 35, similar to that of the extension 25 and on which found legs 29 and 30 of it or other legs.
- the bulge 10 of the strip 4 continues to perform its function of supporting the tiles 3 despite the interposition of the base 36, rather thin and deformable, which therefore little change the behavior of the assembly.
- the riser 25 having the same characteristic element (the bulge) as the strip is part of the invention alone. Its assembly with a characteristic band or even a band without the bulge 10 (thus excluded in itself of the invention) is also part of the invention.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to an overhang strip and then to a building equipped with such a strip; it also relates to a headband extension having similar properties and sets comprising the headband or the enhancement.
A disadvantage that can be blamed in general to the existing bands is a certain complexity of the assembly in which they participate, a difficulty of their mounting on the support elements of the roof (the fitter must adjust itself the position of the bands), and finally a difficulty to properly place the gutters when the headband wears them. In some models, the bands have horizontal grooves for receiving means for attaching the gutter supports, but one is then no longer in charge of adjusting the vertical position of the gutter or its slope, and the assembly may need to slide the gutter supports along the grooves, which is not convenient.
The invention makes it possible to better integrate the strips into their mounting environment by providing them with functional links with it; in a preferred embodiment of the invention, the strips cooperate with particular gutter supports that allow them to be assembled easily and in an original way.
In its most general form, the invention relates to a headband or an extension of roof overhang characterized in that it comprises a domed top edge for supporting roof covering elements.
The support is either direct or is carried out via a thin and flexible profile mounted on the bulge, which still plays its role of support. Another important advantage of the bulge is that it can easily be surrounded by snap grooves of an assembly element such as an extension of the strip or such a thin section.
In an important embodiment of the invention, combined with the preceding, the strip also comprises, to an inner side according to the mounting state, a horizontal shelf for abutting on the load-bearing elements of the roof covering elements; it can still include a groove dug in this inner side just on the horizontal shelf.
Another aspect of the invention is therefore a building comprising such strips, in which the roof covering elements, tiles, slates or others, are posed on the bulges of the bands which they overhang.
Another aspect of the invention is a building comprising strips as defined above, studs (points or nails) driven into the bands, and gutter supports docked to the bands by rear faces provided with slots each comprising a end of the slot at the upper end, opposite edges of the grooves being retained between the strips and the heads of the studs, the ends of the slot butting the studs.

The original aspects of the invention will now be described. The
The invention can be implemented with solid strips or honeycomb structure, thermoplastic material as is usual in modern buildings or other materials; the
Un autre aspect de l'invention va maintenant être décrit : il concerne l'assemblage des supports de gouttière 6 aux bandeaux 4.Another aspect of the invention will now be described: it relates to the assembly of the gutter supports 6 to the

The worker himself places the

The

The
