Definitions
- the field of the present invention is that of packaging for the transport of food products and in particular that of assemblies of cardboard bricks that may contain liquids or any product in powder or grain.
- Cardboard bricks such as bricks of milk or fruit juice
- Cardboard bricks have traditionally parallelepipedic shapes that have the advantage of being assembled and stacked without difficulty. They can be glued to each other or assembled in the form of packs, usually containing two, four, six, eight or more bricks, which are themselves glued against each other and possibly assembled by a welded plastic film .
- the stacking of bricks or such packs does not pose any particular problem since the upper part of the assembly is substantially flat and horizontal. It is no longer the case with the appearance of bricks that have a top shaped hipped roof, with a plug or pourer implanted in one of the sides.
- interlayers that serve as a support structure for the upper layer of bricks and which rely on particular places of the bricks of the lower layer.
- These panels may be of cardboard, molded plastic, polystyrene or molded cellulose.
- the document GB 2 132 173 discloses an insert panel for carrying cartons of cardboard bricks. As shown on the figure 5 of this document, the bricks each have two front faces that meet to form a stop, this stop being in projecting from the rest of said front faces.
- the panel is substantially flat in shape and has cavities. Each cavity is able to come to interpose and come to rest at the junction of two front faces of two adjacent bricks.
- the document EP 1 6323 934 discloses an intermediate panel for carrying cardboard bricks each having two end faces joining at a stop, this stop being protruding from the rest of said front faces.
- the panel according to this document has on its face intended to be in contact with the top of the bricks, cavities so as to encompass and protect the edges and, between two contiguous cavities protruding capable to come to rest on two front faces of two adjacent bricks.
- the object of the present invention is to remedy these drawbacks by proposing a set of inexpensive, mechanically resistant, environmentally friendly spacer panels which fits on brick assemblies, assembled in packs or not, the top of which has the shape of a four-sided roof.
- the invention relates to a set of interposed panels and bricks, each panel being positioned to rest on a lower layer of bricks to ensure the carrying of a top layer of bricks, the top of said bricks having the form of a four-sided roof, two side panels and two end panels, the two front panels joining to form a stop at the top of each brick, said intermediate panels having a substantially flat surface, said surface develop recessed forms having the form of an inverted roof with four inclined plane faces: two lateral faces and two end faces, the four faces joining at the bottom of the recess in a stop-shaped connection zone, characterized in that at least one of the lateral faces of the recesses rest on one of the lateral faces of the roof of said bricks of the lower layer and that the substantially flat surface rests at the stop are bricks also of the lower layer, so as to support the weight of the bricks of the upper layer.
- Such a configuration makes it possible to carry a portion of the weight of the upper layer by the inclined faces of the roofs of the bricks of the lower layer.
- the recessed shapes are disposed on the periphery of several sets of 6 bricks, said packs so as to form a quadrilateral, they cover and are placed so as to be inserted between two consecutive packs, above of their join, along the long side of these packs.
- said two lateral inclined faces of the recessed shapes, outside the lateral and front edges of the panel, are symmetrical to one another with respect to a vertical plane, said lateral inclined faces are positioned between two adjacent brick packs on the along one of their long sides and said front faces extend in the direction of the short side of the packs.
- At least one panel further comprises two tunnel shapes, said tunnel shapes being associated with one of the recessed shapes and are arranged laterally with respect thereto, along the short side of the packs, so that to cover and protect a plug on a brick.
- At least one panel further comprises complementary hollow shapes disposed within the quadrilateral formed by the recessed shapes, so as to provide a certain rigidity during the manufacture of said panel.
- narrow recessed shapes are positioned on at least one side edge of the panel so as to serve as support for the bricks of the top layer positioned on said side edge.
- the length and width dimensions of a spacer panel are multiples of the lengths and widths of the assembled brick packs.
- the panel 2 is made of molded cellulose, which allows for complex shapes with a small thickness, while having a good mechanical strength.
- This panel covers a layer of 96 bricks corresponding to 16 packs of six bricks each.
- the bricks of the same pack are assembled by a means (not shown) such as a welded plastic film.
- FIG 2 On the figure 2 is represented a pack of six bricks 1, each having the shape of a rectangular parallelepiped surmounted by a roof with four sides.
- the pack shown shows three bricks aligned in the length direction (large side of the pack) and two in the width direction (small side of the pack), without this configuration being limiting in the context of the invention, which can perfectly be adapted to bricks arranged according to another arrangement or even heads spades.
- the roof of the bricks illustrated on the figure 2 has two front panels 3, 4, one of which carries a cap 7, and two side panels 5, 6.
- the front panels are here facing the small side of the pack and the side panels facing the long side.
- the two front panels meet to form an edge 8 at the top of the brick.
- an intercalary panel according to the invention is shown, most of which has a substantially flat shape 10.
- Deformed shapes are regularly arranged on this surface so as to take place between the protuberances of the bricks which it has the function of covering; they also serve to give sufficient rigidity to the molded cellulose board, especially during the phase drying during its elaboration.
- Some parts of these recessed forms rely on corresponding surfaces of the bricks to participate in the recovery of the weight of the upper brick layer. Others have the function of protecting the elements of the lower layer, such as for example the caps and their tamper-evident ring.
- the hollow forms presented on the Figures 3 to 6 are essentially of three kinds, a recessed form of short valley type 11, a recessed form of long valley type 12 and a tunnel form 13.
- valley-type hollow forms 11 or 12 are disposed on the periphery of the packs they cover and placed so as to be inserted between two consecutive packs, along the long side of these packs.
- the tunnel forms are associated with the hollow form of long valley type, and arranged laterally with respect thereto, that is to say along the short side of the packs. Their purpose is to cover and protect the plugs 7 bricks.
- the recessed shapes 11 or 12 and the tunnel shapes 13 have lengths or widths halved to take into account the fact that they will cover only two bricks instead of the four covered by the hollow forms located in the middle of the panel.
- the hollow forms of the 11th or 12th long valley type positioned along the long sides of the brick layer are reduced by half in the width direction, whereas the hollow valley 12c type shapes or the 13c tunnel positioned along the short sides of the brick layer are reduced by half in the direction of their length.
- the intermediate panel also has complementary hollow shapes 14 arranged inside the quadrilateral formed by the hollow forms 11 and 12. They do not participate in the carrying of the top layer of bricks but serve to give sufficient rigidity to the intermediate panel during its manufacture.
- the vallon type hollow forms whether short valleys 11 or long valleys 12, have the function of transmitting to the lower layer the forces resulting from the weight of the brick layer higher.
- They are generally in the form of an inverted roof having four flat inclined faces connected to each other and to the flat surface 10 of the panel by curved surfaces of the fillet type connection. The four faces meet at the bottom of the hollow in a curved connection area in the form of an edge.
- the side faces 111, 112, 121, 122 are positioned opposite and have substantially the same inclination as the side panels 5, 6 of the roof of the bricks. They thus cooperate with the roof of some of the bricks of the lower layer, which is an essential feature of the invention.
- the side faces of valley type hollow forms come to rest on the side panels of the roofs of the bricks and bear there to support the weight of the upper layer.
- the weight of this upper layer is distributed in fine between all the lateral faces 111, 112, 121, 122 of the hollow forms of the short valley or long valle and between the flat surface 10 at the edges 8 of the bricks of the lower layer .
- the other hollow forms do not participate a priori to the support of the upper layer.
- valleys 11e, 12e On the lateral edges of the panel are positioned narrow hollow forms of valleys 11e, 12e, whose width is half that of the valleys in the middle of the panel.
- recessed forms 12c long valley shortened On the front edges of the panel are positioned recessed forms 12c long valley shortened, whose length is half that of the long valleys in the middle of the panel.
- tunnel-shaped shapes 13 are positioned, laterally, at each of the long valleys and cover the plugs 7 of a lateral row of bricks 1. At the front edge of the panel which faces the faces of the bricks 3 carrying the plugs these tunnel forms are shortened forms 13c. Finally optionally complementary hollow shapes 14 are positioned above the junction line of two bricks of the same pack.
- the set of intermediate panels according to the invention has the advantage of facilitating the transport of bricks or packs of bricks with 4 sides.

Abstract
Description
The field of the present invention is that of packaging for the transport of food products and in particular that of assemblies of cardboard bricks that may contain liquids or any product in powder or grain.
Cardboard bricks, such as bricks of milk or fruit juice, have traditionally parallelepipedic shapes that have the advantage of being assembled and stacked without difficulty. They can be glued to each other or assembled in the form of packs, usually containing two, four, six, eight or more bricks, which are themselves glued against each other and possibly assembled by a welded plastic film . The stacking of bricks or such packs does not pose any particular problem since the upper part of the assembly is substantially flat and horizontal. It is no longer the case with the appearance of bricks that have a top shaped hipped roof, with a plug or pourer implanted in one of the sides. To achieve the stacking of these sets it was necessary to make interlayers that serve as a support structure for the upper layer of bricks and which rely on particular places of the bricks of the lower layer. These panels may be of cardboard, molded plastic, polystyrene or molded cellulose.
The problem becomes even more acute with the appearance of bricks whose top has the form of a roof, no longer two-sided, but four-sided.
The use of the cardboard for the infill panel is no longer possible because it would be necessary to make cuts to let the cap and make creases, which is not suitable for having sufficient strength. Polystyrene may be suitable mechanically but is no longer accepted because of the difficulties associated with its recycling and the resulting impact on the environment.
The panels described in these two documents according to the prior art can not be adapted to bricks which have a roof-shaped four-sided.
The object of the present invention is to remedy these drawbacks by proposing a set of inexpensive, mechanically resistant, environmentally friendly spacer panels which fits on brick assemblies, assembled in packs or not, the top of which has the shape of a four-sided roof.
For this purpose, the invention relates to a set of interposed panels and bricks, each panel being positioned to rest on a lower layer of bricks to ensure the carrying of a top layer of bricks, the top of said bricks having the form of a four-sided roof, two side panels and two end panels, the two front panels joining to form a stop at the top of each brick, said intermediate panels having a substantially flat surface, said surface develop recessed forms having the form of an inverted roof with four inclined plane faces: two lateral faces and two end faces, the four faces joining at the bottom of the recess in a stop-shaped connection zone, characterized in that at least one of the lateral faces of the recesses rest on one of the lateral faces of the roof of said bricks of the lower layer and that the substantially flat surface rests at the stop are bricks also of the lower layer, so as to support the weight of the bricks of the upper layer.
Such a configuration makes it possible to carry a portion of the weight of the upper layer by the inclined faces of the roofs of the bricks of the lower layer.
Preferably, the recessed shapes are disposed on the periphery of several sets of 6 bricks, said packs so as to form a quadrilateral, they cover and are placed so as to be inserted between two consecutive packs, above of their join, along the long side of these packs.
Advantageously, said two lateral inclined faces of the recessed shapes, outside the lateral and front edges of the panel, are symmetrical to one another with respect to a vertical plane, said lateral inclined faces are positioned between two adjacent brick packs on the along one of their long sides and said front faces extend in the direction of the short side of the packs.
In a preferred embodiment, at least one panel further comprises two tunnel shapes, said tunnel shapes being associated with one of the recessed shapes and are arranged laterally with respect thereto, along the short side of the packs, so that to cover and protect a plug on a brick.
Preferably, at least one panel further comprises complementary hollow shapes disposed within the quadrilateral formed by the recessed shapes, so as to provide a certain rigidity during the manufacture of said panel.
According to a feature of the invention, narrow recessed shapes are positioned on at least one side edge of the panel so as to serve as support for the bricks of the top layer positioned on said side edge.
Advantageously, the length and width dimensions of a spacer panel are multiples of the lengths and widths of the assembled brick packs.
The invention will be better understood, and other objects, details, features and advantages thereof will become more clearly apparent in the following detailed explanatory description of a embodiment of the invention given by way of purely illustrative and non-limiting example, with reference to the accompanying schematic drawings.

On the edges of the intermediate panel the recessed
Unlike the other hollow forms mentioned above, the vallon type hollow forms, whether
The side faces 111, 112, 121, 122 are positioned opposite and have substantially the same inclination as the
On the lateral edges of the panel are positioned narrow hollow forms of
Finally the upper brick layer rests on the intermediate panel which bears on the inclined faces 111, 112, 121, 122 of the
The set of intermediate panels according to the invention has the advantage of facilitating the transport of bricks or packs of bricks with 4 sides.
Although the invention has been described in connection with a particular embodiment, it is obvious that it is not limited thereto and that it comprises all the technical equivalents of the means described, as well as their combinations, if these fall within the scope of the invention.
