Definitions

  • the present invention relates to an air circuit breaker, more particularly, to an air circuit breaker having a simple detachable structure for an over current relay.
  • An over current relay is a part of an electronic device, serving as a controller for an air circuit breaker.
  • the over current relay serves to sense an abnormal current such as a short circuit current and an over current on a circuit and then generate an electric driving signal to a trip actuator triggering a switching mechanism so that the switching mechanism can be tripped in an air circuit breaker, to display an operation state of the air circuit breaker, and to communicate with an external monitoring device.
  • the over current relay is detached from the air circuit breaker when it is required to be replaced with a new one because its life is over, it is required to be checked due to an error generated while being operated, or it is required to be replaced with a multifunctional one.
  • the over current relay should be disassembled for an inspector's safety.
  • US-A-5 043 688 discloses a circuit interrupter which includes basic overcurrent protection facility along with selective electrical accessories.
  • a molded plastic accessory access cover secured to the integrated protection unit cover protects the accessory components contained within the integrated protection unit cover from the environment.
  • US-B1-6 480 082 discloses a circuit breaker having a safe construction, where no electrically charged portions are exposed in an accessory installation area or anywhere outside a main circuit case even if a cover of the circuit breaker is opened in a live condition.
  • US-A-5 581 219 discloses a circuit breaker comprising a container made of electrically insulating material, the container being constituted by a casing and a cover; a switching mechanism contained in the container; partition walls defining a recess in the casing, the recess being separated from an interior of the container by the partition walls; and a base made of electrically insulating material.
  • JP 02 044629 discloses the installation of an appendix device by forming a coupling part of a functional member with the appendix device with possibility of coupling by unidirectional motion of the functional member toward a cover, and forming a cutoff window in a part of cover so as to allow insertion from outside.
  • a front cover covering an almost entire front surface of the air circuit breaker should be detached from an air circuit breaker main body that is disposed at a rear side thereof. And, to this end, it is required to unscrew a plurality of connection screws, which causes inconvenience and wasting of time.
  • the present invention is directed to providing an air circuit breaker having a simple detachable structure for an over current relay.
