Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for operating a watercraft and a watercraft having at least two rudder handles, which are intended to be actuated by an occupant of the vehicle in order to drive this.
- rudders in the context of this invention, the typical driving elements of a rowing boat are referred to, which are identified in the nautical terminology with the term “belt”.
- actuation is understood here as the typical rudder movement in conventional rowing boats, which generate propulsion by a pulling movement on the rudder handle while the rudder blades are submerged.
- muscle-operated watercraft which are designed, for example, as rowing boats, pedal boats or the like.
- motorized watercraft such as electric boats are known, which are powered by marine propellers, Jet drives or the like.
- the control of these motorized watercraft is usually either directly via an outboard motor or via a steering wheel in conjunction with a selector lever for the driving speed.
- the FR 2 332 904 A shows a boat, which is driven by a person in the manner of a rowing boat over rowing handles, but these rudder handles are not associated with rudders, but drive via a hydraulic mechanism a propeller. Furthermore, the shows DE 203 16 652 U all the features of the preamble of claim 1 evidently a boat drive in which drive fins can be operated by a rudder-like movement. For reinforcement, an auxiliary motor may be provided. Both concepts allow by the restriction to human muscle power only very modest performance, which does not change even when using an auxiliary engine, as this can have only a very low performance with direct coupling in the drive train, if the operation by the person is not inadmissible to be influenced.
- Object of the present invention is to provide a method for operating a watercraft and to create a watercraft that is basically operated as a rowing boat and the user gives the feel of a rowing boat, but at the same time much higher speeds and provides the ability to control the training effect for the user in a predetermined manner.
- the rudder handles are connected to a control unit which controls at least one externally actuated drive motor of the vehicle in response to the operation of the rudder handles.
- the essential feature of the present invention is that the rudder handles serve primarily to give signals to the control unit for the desired driving speed and driving direction.
- each rudder handle separately drives a drive motor.
- the drive motors are preferably laterally offset from one another, so that a different actuation of the rowing handles also causes a different direction of travel.
- a rudder may additionally be provided, which is controlled in dependence on the operation of the rudder handles.
- the propulsion of the watercraft itself can be done on the one hand by rudders, but it can also be provided a propeller or a jet propulsion.
- a propeller or a jet propulsion In a drive of the vessel over rudder these can be both firmly coupled to the rudder handles, as well as partially or completely decoupled from the rudder handles, in the latter case, the drive is exclusively via the drive motor.
- each rudder handle can be connected to a generator or to a braking device.
- Fig. 1 shows a generally designated 1 vessel in the form of a rowing boat with a seat 2 for a user. It is obvious that in addition to this one seat 2 further seats, not shown, may be provided, provide space for additional users to form the boat in the form of, for example, a rowman.
- rowing handles 3a, 3b are provided, which in this embodiment are rigidly connected to rudders 4a, 4b, which are pivotally connected to the rowboat 1 at points 5a, 5b.
- the rudders 4a, 4b are driven on the one hand via the rudder handles 3a, 3b and on the other hand via hydraulic cylinders 6a, 6b, which constitute the drive motors and are driven by a hydraulic unit 7.
- a control device 8 controls the hydraulic unit 7 and thus the hydraulic cylinders 6a, 6b.
- Sensors 9a, 9b are connected to the rudder handles 3a, 3b, which detect the position of the rudder handles 3a, 3b and transmit them to the control unit 8 via control lines 10a, 10b.
- two further sensors 11a and 11b are mounted, which measure the joint pressure generated by the rowing of the rower, and transmit via control lines 12a and 12b to the control unit 8.
- the variant of the Fig. 1 represents a rowing boat with servo drive, that is, that the operation of the rudder 4a, 4b, although basically via the rudder handles 3a, 3b, but via the drive motor 7; 6a, 6b is supported, so that a much higher driving speed can be achieved.
- the support is proportional to the force applied, the pressure in the sensors 11a and 11b being used as the control variable. The more force the rower himself applies, the stronger he gets from the drive motor 7; 6a, 6b supported.
- rudder handles 3a, 3b serve exclusively the control of the rowing boat 1.
- the rudder movement of the rower is preferably directed to two generators 17a and 17b, which are connected to the handles 3a, 3b via belt drives 24a, 24b in order to oppose the operation of the rudder handles 3a, 3b, a corresponding resistance.
- Speed sensors 18a and 18b are incorporated in the engine or belt drive to communicate the speed to the controller 8. This controls the drive motors 16a, 16b in proportion to the speed of the generator mounted on the same side.
- a flywheel may be connected to the generators, or it may be an electronic circuit Equalization effect.
- Software and hardware solutions can be used.
- This controls the drive motors 16a, 16b in accordance with the operation of the rudder handles 3a, 3b, which in turn drive propellers 15a, 15b.
- the drive motors 16a, 16b can be designed both as electric motors and as internal combustion engines.
- a rudder 14 may be provided, which is driven by a servomotor 13, which is also controlled by the control device 8.
- the variant of Fig. 3 has rudders 4a, 4b, which, however, unlike the variant of Fig. 1 are decoupled from the rudder handles 3a, 3b.
- the rudders 4a, 4b are driven by drive motors 26a, 26b via drive belts 27a, 27b or raised by means of a hydraulic device (not shown) and by lifting motors 28a and 28b during rowing.
- the drive motors 26a, 26b are controlled by a control device 8 as in the previous embodiment variants and operated in synchronism with the rudder movement of the rower.
- the handles 3a, 3b are connected via belt drives 24a, 24b with generators 25a, 25b in order to oppose the operation of the rudder handles 3a, 3b, a corresponding resistance.
- This resistance can be adjusted by the control device 8 according to the driving condition but also according to external requirements. In this way it is possible to specify a training program that offers the user of the vessel a predeterminable training effect. However, the resistance can also be made dependent on the heart rate of the user, for example, if this is measured.
- Fig. 3 The advantage of the variant of Fig. 3 is that the outer appearance of the vessel continues to correspond to that of a rowing boat, but unusually high speeds and / or numbers of strokes can be achieved.
- the present invention makes it possible to provide a watercraft having a previously unimagined functionality.

Description
- Fig. 1
- eine erste Ausführungsvariante der Erfindung;
- Fig. 2
- eine zweite Ausführungsvariante der Erfindung; und
