- the technical field of the invention is that of devices for feeding an ammunition weapon and in particular that of devices for separating the links from each other at the exit of the weapon after firing the ammunition.
- Ammunition fired by medium-caliber weapons (caliber between 20mm and 50mm) is usually assembled on chains or bands of links. These bands make it easier to introduce ammunition into the weapon. Ammunition is stored in stores with their band. The band allows them to be driven to the gun by following feeding lanes. The weapon's feeding system thus brings the ammunition one after the other opposite the chamber of the weapon where the correctly positioned ammunition is extracted from its band to be fired.
- the bands of links still interconnected agglomerate and form blocks integral with the turret and which can hinder the implementation of the latter.
- the invention relates more particularly to a device which is intended to separate links of a strip in which the links are mounted to pivot angularly relative to each other, a relative pivoting position of a first link with respect to the link which follows allowing the stall of the first link.

- the subject of the invention is a device for separating the links of an ammunition carrying strip, a strip coming out of a weapon after firing and in which the links are mounted to pivot angularly relative to each other, a position of relative pivoting of a first link with respect to the link that follows it for the stalling of the first link, device comprising an elastic means secured to a support of the weapon and placed near an exit of the band outside this support, and able to rotate each link relative to the next, characterized in that the elastic means comprises at least one tongue disposed above an output of the strip, tongue which is pushed by the output of a first link against the action of a spring means and which cooperates with a rear edge of the body of the first link to rotate it with respect to the next link and thus unhook it.
- the separation device advantageously comprises a holding blade disposed below the exit of the strip, which blade supports the link during movement of the tongue or tongues and during the pivoting of the link.
- each tongue may be a resilient tongue deformable by the passage of the links, each tongue then forming in itself the spring means that can rotate the link body.
- each tongue may be a rigid tongue integral with a torsion spring which will constitute the spring means that can rotate the link body.
- the separation device may comprise two tongues and the latter may be positioned on either side of the holding blade.
- FIGS. 2a and 2b show a device for separating the links M1, M2 of a band. These figures show a support 5 secured to the weapon (not shown) or a turret. An opening 11 is arranged in this support to allow the exit of the strip.
- the invention comprises an elastic means 7 which is secured to the support 5 by means of a frame 6 positioned opposite the opening 11 and fixed to the support 5 by means not shown.
