Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a spray gun for producing a two-component foam according to the preamble of
It is known to use in construction PU foams for the connection of components and for the production of insulation. Such foams are inexpensive to produce and easy to use. A particular advantage of the foams is that they swell after application in a predefined manner, so that any voids are filled and a secure connection of the components is produced. In practice, both one-component systems and two-component systems are used. The advantage of the one-component systems is that only a single starting material is needed and the application devices are simple and uncomplicated. A disadvantage of these systems, however, is that one-component foams harden only by absorbing water from the humidity or from the adjacent building materials, so that the curing time is relatively long.
Two-component systems can be set to cure very quickly so that much faster work progress can be achieved because the components can be processed almost immediately after bonding. However, the previously known devices for the production and processing of two-component foam are relatively complex, so that such systems have not yet fully enforced.

The object of the present invention is to avoid these disadvantages and to provide a spray gun which has a simple structure and is capable of producing a high-quality foam. In particular, an optimal handling of the pressure vessel is to be achieved, both as regards the flow paths, and as regards the weight distribution of the device.
Another object of the present invention is to develop a spray gun that operates reliably even in harsh working conditions and is easy to clean and maintain.
According to the invention, these objects are achieved by the features of
Essential to the invention is a simple construction and the fact that the starting components meet only within a removable nozzle tip, so that hardening of the working materials inside the device is prevented during breaks in work. It has been found that directly actuated needle valves have significant advantages over other valve systems, such as check valves, as they may become clogged in the nozzle tip if used improperly, resulting in significant back pressure. By the needle valves, it is possible to safely prevent unwanted returns of material from the nozzle tip in the delivery channels, so that a blockage or damage to the essential components of the spray gun is prevented. It is only necessary in such a case to replace the nozzle tip in order to restore the functional state. It is particularly favorable when the valve needles are biased by springs into their closed position. The opening movement takes place by mechanical drive against the action of the spring. In this way, a predefined closing force of the needle valves can be adjusted.
A particularly simple structure can be achieved by providing a common actuating device for the two valve pins. A particularly favored embodiment variant of the invention is characterized in that the valve needles are arranged in the interior of the delivery channels. In this way, not only a simple and compact construction can be achieved, it is also achieved that the feed cross sections for the starting components have a simple and rectilinear shape, so that material deposits and the like can be safely avoided. In this regard, it is also important that the delivery channels are arranged side by side in parallel and that the connection points for the pressure vessels are provided in the axial direction one behind the other.
A particularly simple structure also results from the fact that the nozzle tip has a flange which rests on the metering valves, wherein the mixing chamber is arranged directly on the flange. In this way, after a replacement of the nozzle tip, a functional spray gun is available without requiring special cleaning work.
The preparation of the spray gun according to the invention can be substantially simplified in that the spray gun has a gun body in which the delivery channels are formed, which is made as an injection molded part. Of particular advantage in this context, it is when these metering valves are designed as inserts in the gun body.
