Claims (28)

  1. An applicator for applying a product on the eyelashes or eyebrows, including a brush (5) including:
    - bristles (11),
    - a core (10) having a straight portion (10a) from which the bristles (11) extend, the bristles having free ends that define an enclosure surface (E),
    the enclosure surface extending along a longitudinal axis (Y) not parallel to the longitudinal axis (X) of the straight portion (10a) of the core, the enclosure surface having at least one cross-section with a flat shape along a median plane (M),
    the enclosure surface defining at least one face (12) parallel to the longitudinal axis (X) of the core and the enclosure surface (E) having a circular cross-section with at least one flat.
  2. The applicator according to claim 1, the median plane (M) containing the longitudinal axes (X) of the core and (Y) of the enclosure surface.
  3. The applicator according to one of the two preceding claims, wherein the longitudinal axis (Y) of the enclosure surface (E) forms an angle (α) between 1 and 8° with the longitudinal axis (X) of the straight portion of the core.
  4. The applicator according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the core (10) is off-centered at least at each of the axial ends of the brush.
  5. The applicator according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the core is centered in at least one cross-section of the enclosure surface (E).
  6. The applicator according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the enclosure surface (E) has at least one face (16) not parallel to the longitudinal axis (X) of the straight portion of the core.
  7. The applicator according to any one of the preceding claims, the enclosure surface having two opposite faces (16) not parallel to the longitudinal axis (X) of the straight portion of the core.
  8. The applicator according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the enclosure surface (E) has two opposite faces (12) parallel to the longitudinal axis (X) of the core.
  9. The applicator according to one of the two preceding claims, wherein at least one of the faces defined by the enclosure surface of the brush is flat.
  10. The applicator according to the preceding claim, the enclosure surface (E) defining at least one flat face parallel to the median plane.
  11. The applicator according to one of the preceding claims, wherein at least one of the faces is substantially concave or convex.
  12. The applicator according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the enclosure surface (E) has a constant cross-section over the majority of the length of the straight portion of the core.
  13. The applicator according to any one of claims 1 to 11, wherein the enclosure surface (E) of the brush has a non-constant cross-section over the majority of the length of the straight portion of the core.
  14. The applicator according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the cross-section of the enclosure surface (E), in at least one point of the straight portion of the core, has a general shape chosen from the following list: circular, polygonal, triangular, rectangular, square, pentagonal or hexagonal, diamond-shaped, oblong, oval, lenticular, cuneiform, piriform, keyhole-shaped, notched.
  15. The applicator according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the enclosure surface of the brush (5) defines at least one longitudinal peak (17), or between two and eight longitudinal peaks.
  16. The applicator according to any one of the preceding claims, the enclosure surface (E) being symmetrical relative to the median plane (M).
  17. The applicator according to any one of claims 1 to 15, the enclosure surface (E) being nonsymmetrical relative to the median plane (M).
  18. The applicator according to any one of the preceding claims, including at least one undulating edge.
  19. The applicator according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the core (10) includes at least two twisted metal strands, in particular with a diameter between 0.35 and 1 mm.
  20. The applicator according to any one of the preceding claims, including a rod (4) having a distal portion having a longitudinal axis, the straight portion of the core having a longitudinal axis (X) combined with that of the distal portion of the rod.
  21. The applicator according to any one of the preceding claims, having, at its distal end, bristles with different lengths having different flexibilities.
  22. The applicator according to any one of the preceding claims, including a mixture of bristles with different diameters, natures and/or cross-sections.
  23. The applicator according to any one of the preceding claims, the brush having intervals (100) between the bristles on one side of the core.
  24. The applicator according to any one of the preceding claims, including bristles treated by die-stamping or grinding.
  25. The applicator according to any one of the preceding claims, the brush being over-injected or mounted on a flexible part (101).
  26. A device for packaging and applying a product on the eyelashes or eyebrows, including a container (2) containing the product (P) and an applicator (3) according to any one of the preceding claims.
  27. A method for manufacturing applicator as defined in any one of claims 1 to 25, including the following steps:
    - machining a brush blank having a core including at least one straight portion and defining an enclosure surface that is generally cylindrical of revolution, the machining being done so as to form at least a first face (16) extending longitudinally in a tilted manner relative to the longitudinal axis of the core,
    - forming, on the blank, at least one second face (12) extending longitudinally parallel to the longitudinal axis of the core.
  28. A method for making up a strip of eyelashes or eyebrows, including the following steps:
    - using an applicator as defined in any one of claims 1 to 25 to make up a first end of the strip of eyelashes or eyebrows with a first set of bristles,
    - rotating the applicator around itself by an angle greater than a quarter revolution, so as to make up a second end of the strip of eyelashes or eyebrows with a second set of bristles separate from the first set of bristles.
