Le moyen de verrouillage est alors apte à bloquer le degré de liberté entre les deux pièces mobiles. Ainsi, le déplacement d'une pièce par rapport à l'autre entraîne une traction du câble de débrayage et donc une action sur l'organe de débrayage. - Au moins une des deux pièces du mécanisme de mise sous tension comprend un moyen de repérage de la position relative entre les deux pièces.
