While sliding on this ramp 315B the stripping member 360 exerts on it a thrust that elastically bends the elbow 315A to which it is attached.
- said free branch 315B creates a counter-thrust on the stripping member 360 so that its cutting edge 361A slides continuously along the conductive core 402 and cuts the insulating sheath 401 of the conductor 400.
- the actuating lever 356 extends along the axis of the recess 16 recessed from the rear face of the housing 10. In this way, it is prevented from being hooked by any external element during subsequent manipulations of the electrical equipment.
- Each organ of stripping 360 extends perpendicularly to the axis of the insulated electrical conductor 400, it is blocked between, on the one hand, the conductive core 402 metal of said conductor with which its end bearing the cutting edge 361A is in electrical contact, and, on the other hand, the free branch 315B of the elastically deformable wall 315 of the one-piece piece 310 in U against which its other opposite end 362 is in abutment by elastically folding the bend 315A.
- the body 151, 251, 351 carries at each of its ends a flange 155, 255, 355 which extends orthogonally to the axis V of rotation, and which protrudes from the cylindrical wall of the body 151, 251, 351 on an angular sector of about 60 degrees.
- These flanges 155, 255, 355 allow the insulated electrical conductor 400 to be held laterally during its drilling by the stripping member 160, 260, 360 so that it does not come out of said gutter-shaped wall 112, 212, 312 .

Abstract
Description
The present invention generally relates to the so-called self-stripping connection terminals, whether they are connection terminals intended to act in isolation, for example for connecting one electrical conductor to another, or that it is are connection terminals which, being integral parts of the housing of any electrical equipment, or duly reported on this housing, are intended for connection to this apparatus, the electrical conductors necessary for its service.
It relates more particularly to a connection terminal comprising a housing for receiving at least one insulated electrical conductor and an electrical connection member comprising a body rotatably mounted in said receiving housing and a metal cutting edge which is adapted to pierce the sheath. insulating electrical insulated conductor introduced into said receiving housing for making electrical contact with its conductive core.
It also relates to electrical equipment incorporating such a self-stripping connection terminal.
The means for stripping an electrical conductor in the self-stripping connection terminals already known, are conventionally means for tearing, drilling or cutting the insulating sheath of the electrical conductor, in a direction substantially perpendicular or parallel to the axis said driver.
It may be a slot whose bottom forms a housing of the conductive core of the conductor and provided with cutting lips extending perpendicularly to the axis of said conductor. This slot is secured to a cover adapted to close a receiving housing. The electrical conductor is housed partially in said receiving housing, then the cover is folded down thereon so that the slot straddles said electrical conductor. The electrical conductor then enters the slot, in a direction of introduction parallel to said cutting lips, and these cut and move locally the insulating sheath of said conductor in a direction perpendicular to the axis of the latter, so that a portion of its conductive core is housed in the bottom of said slot and makes electrical contact with the terminal.
It may also be a metal tip which pierces the insulating sheath of the electrical conductor placed in a receiving housing, the drilling being performed in a direction perpendicular to the axis of said conductor, so as to come into contact with the conductive core of said conductor for making the electrical connection.
The main disadvantage of such self-stripping connection terminals is that their stripping means are suitable for stripping insulated electrical conductors having a given diameter.
According to this document, the connection member comprises two metal cutting edges substantially parallel to its axis of rotation, positioned opposite one another with respect to the axis of rotation. These two cutting edges are each adapted to peel insulating sheaths of two electrical conductors introduced by separate inputs into said receiving housing, on one side and the other of the connection member.
It is understood that depending on the shape of the connection member and in its position centered or off-center in the receiving housing, the distance between the walls of the cage and each of the cutting edges of the connecting member is variable. The two separate inputs are adapted to accommodate insulated electrical conductors with different sections. The same input can not however accommodate electrical conductors with different sections. The choice of the entry input of the electrical conductors must be carefully made by a competent person.
In order to overcome the aforementioned drawback of the state of the art, the present invention proposes a connection terminal which automatically adapts to the diameter of the isolated electrical conductor introduced into its receiving housing.
More particularly, there is provided according to the invention a connection terminal as defined in claim 1.
Thus, when an insulated electrical conductor is engaged in the receiving housing and the body pivots about its axis of rotation, the cutting edge of the stripping member pierces the flexible insulating sheath of the conductor and comes into contact with his soul. metallic conductor. This contact generates a force that tends to push the stripping member out of said body, towards the elastically deformable wall. The stripping member already being in contact with this elastically deformable wall, the latter creates a counter-thrust which maintains, throughout the rotation of the body, the stripping member in contact with the conductive core of the electrical conductor. The stripping member thus slides along the conductive core of the electrical conductor while continuing to slice its flexible insulating sheath.
As a result, good stripping and good electrical connection of the insulated electrical conductor to the terminal is guaranteed for a range of different electrical conductor sections.
A single electrical conductor input allows the connection of different conductors, so that a person with no particular electrical skills can easily connect electrical conductors to this connection terminal.
