Abstract
Es wird ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von bifunktionellen Ammoniumnitrilen beansprucht. Dieses Verfahren besteht darin, dass man eine Dihalogenalkylverbindung oder eine Dihalogenarylverbindung mit einem Dialkylaminoacetonitril in einem polaren, aprotischen Lösungsmittel umsetzt.

Verfahren zur Herstellung von bifunktionellen Ammoniumnitrilen
Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft die Synthese von bifunktionellen
Ammoniumnitrilen durch einstufige Umsetzung von Dialkylaminoacetonitrilen mit Dihalogenalkylen bzw. Dihalogenarylen.
In der Patentliteratur werden Ammoniumnitrile und deren Verwendung als Bleichaktivatoren in Wasch- und Reinigungsmitteln beschrieben. Durch Zusatz dieser Aktivatoren kann die Bleichwirkung wässriger Peroxidlösungen soweit gesteigert werden, dass bei 400C im wesentlichen die gleiche Wirkung eintritt, wie sie sonst nur mit der Peroxidlösung allein bei 950C erzielt wird. Als Beispiele seien EP-A-303 520, EP-A-458 396, EP-A-464 880 und WO-2003/078 561 aufgeführt.
Monofuntionelle Ammoniumnitrile der allgemeinen Formel
werden in EP-A-458 386 im Rahmen einer zweistufigen Umsetzung erhalten. Im ersten Schritt erfolgt die Synthese eines tertiären Aminonitrils durch Umsetzung des entsprechenden Aldehyds bzw. Ketons mit Kaliumcyanid und einem sekundären Amin und in einem zweiten Schritt die Quaternierung des Aminonitrils mit Dimethylsulfat.
In EP-A-464 880 erfolgt die Quaternierung des Aminonitrils mit para- Methyltoluolsulfonat bzw. para-Dodecylalkylbenzolsulfonat.
In dem Verfahren gemäß EP-A-303 520 wird u.a. die Synthese bifunktioneller Ammoniumnitrile der allgemeinen Formel
beschrieben.
Um zu diesen Ammoniumnitrilen zu gelangen, wird das entsprechende tertiäre Amin mit Chloracetonitril zum jeweiligen Ammoniumnitril umgesetzt.
Problematisch für die großtechnische Anwendbarkeit des Verfahrens sind die hohen Kosten der Halogenacetonitrile, die die Herstellung dieser als Bleichaktivatoren in Wasch- und Reinigungsmitteln einzusetzenden Stoffklasse verteuern.
Es bestand daher die Aufgabe, ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von bifunktionellen Ammoniumnitrilen zu finden, bei dem auf den Einsatz von Halogenacetonitril verzichtet werden kann.
Überraschenderweise wurde gefunden, dass durch Umsetzung von Dialkylamino- acetonitril mit Dihalogenalkylverbindungen bzw. Halogenarylverbindungen bei 40 bis 800C in polar-aprotischen Lösungsmitteln im Eintopfverfahren derartige bifunktionelle Ammoniumnitrile in sehr reiner Form und guten Ausbeuten erhalten werden. Vorteilhaft ist der Einsatz wesentlich preisgünstigerer Rohstoffe.
Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung ist somit ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von bifunktionellen Ammoniumnitrilen der Formel (1)

R5 und R6 jeweils unabhängig voneinander eine gerad- oder verzweigtkettige Cr bis C-24-Alkyl-, Alkenyl- oder Alkylethergruppe, und X ein Anion, die Variable n eine ganze Zahl von 1 bis 16 bedeuten; wobei man ein Dialkylaminoacetonitril der allgemeinen Formel (2)
in einem polaren, aprotischen Lösungsmittel mit einer Dihalogenalkylverbindung der allgemeinem Formel (3) X - K - X (3)
umsetzt, wobei R ■»5 , D R6 , K und X die oben genannten Bedeutungen haben.
Für das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren geht man im Einzelnen so vor, dass man zunächst das Dialkylaminoacetonitril der Formel (2) in einem geeigneten polar- aprotischen Lösungsmittel löst oder suspendiert. Als Lösungsmittel kommen beispielsweise in Frage: Essigsäureethylester, Essigsäure-n-propylester, Essigsäure-i-propylester, Essigsäure-n-butylester, Essigsäure-i-butylester und deren Gemische, Dimethylsulfoxid, N-Methylpyrrolidon, 1 ,3-Dimethylimidazolidin- 2-on. Bevorzugt sind Essigsäureethylester, Dimethylformamid und Dimethylacetamid, besonders bevorzugt ist Dimethylacetamid, da die Ausgangsprodukte in diesem Lösungsmittel eine sehr gute Löslichkeit aufweisen,
während die Endprodukte schwer löslich sind und ausfallen. Zu dieser Lösung bzw. Suspension wird eine Dihalogenalkylverbindung bzw. eine Halogenarylverbindung der allgemeinen Formel (3) in Substanz oder als Lösung zugetropft. Bei diesen Dihalogenverbindungen der Formel (3) können die beiden Halogenatome X gleich oder verschieden sein. Die Menge an
Dialkylaminoacetonitril beträgt 1 ,8 bis 2,5, bevorzugt 2,0 bis 2,3 Moläquivalente bezogen auf das Dihalogenalkyl bzw. Halogenaryl. Als Dialkylaminoacetonitril kommen in Frage Dimethylaminoacetonitril, Diethylaminoacetonitril, Methyl- Ethylaminoacetonitril, Di-n-propylaminoacetonitril, Di-n-butylaminoacetonitril, Di-n- hexylaminoacetonitril, bevorzugt sind Dimethylaminoacetonitril und
Diethylaminoacetonitril, besonders bevorzugt ist Dimethylaminoacetonitril. Die Reaktionstemperatur beträgt im Allgemeinen 20 bis 1200C, bevorzugt 30 bis 1000C, besonders bevorzugt 40 bis 8O0C. Die Reaktion läuft in einem Zeitraum von 1 bis 10 Stunden, bevorzugt 2 bis 9 Stunden, besonders bevorzugt 4 bis 8 Stunden. Das entstandene Produkt kann durch Filtration, Abnutschen,
Abdekantieren oder durch Zentrifugation vom Lösungsmittel abgetrennt werden.
Nachfolgende Beispiele sollen die Erfindung näher erläutern ohne sie darauf einzuschränken.
Beispiel 1 : Synthese von α,αl-Bis(Cyanomethyl-dimethyl-ammonium)-ortho- xylol-dichlorid
25 g (0,3 mol) Dimethylaminoacetonitril wurden in 100 ml N,N-Dimethylacetamid gelöst. Unter Rühren wurde bei 500C eine Lösung von 26 g (0,15 mol) ortho-
Xylylendichlorid in 100 ml N,N-Dimethylacetamid zugetropft. Das
Reaktionsgemisch wurde 5 Stunden bei 60°C gerührt. Das Reaktionsgemisch wurde auf Raumtemperatur abgekühlt und der ausgefallene Feststoff abfiltriert.
Der Filterkuchen wurde mit 50 ml N,N-Dimethyl-acetamid gewaschen. Der Feststoff wurde bei 600C im Vakuum getrocknet. Man erhielt 36,5 g (0,11 mol) reines α,α'-Bis(Cyanomethyl-dimethyl-ammonium)-ortho-xylol-dichlorid, entsprechend einer Ausbeute von 72 %.

Beispiel 2: Synthese von α,αI-Bis(Cyanomethyl-dimethyl-ammonium)-para-xylol- dichlorid
25 g (0,3 mol) Dimethylaminoacetonitril wurden in 100 ml N,N-Dimethylacetamid gelöst. Unter Rühren wurde bei 5O0C eine Lösung von 26 g (0,15 mol) para- Xylylendichlorid in 100 ml N,N-Dimethylacetamid zugetropft. Das Reaktionsgemisch wurde 5 Stunden bei 6O0C gerührt. Das Reaktionsgemisch wurde auf Raumtemperatur abgekühlt und der ausgefallene Feststoff abfiltriert. Der Filterkuchen wurde mit 50 ml N,N-Dimethyl-acetamid gewaschen. Der Feststoff wurde bei 6O0C im Vakuum getrocknet. Man erhielt 19,2 g (0,06 mol) reines α,α'-Bis(Cyanomethyl-dimethyl-ammonium)-para-xylol-dichlorid, entsprechend einer Ausbeute von 39 %. Fp.: 208°C (Zersetzung) 1H-NMR (D2O): δ = 7,78 (4 H, s); δ = 4,81 (4 H, s); δ = 4,75 (4 H, s); δ = 3,33 (12 H, s)
Beispiel 3: Synthese von N.N.N'.N'-Tetramethyl-N.N'-di^yanomethyO-I .S- propan-diammoniumbromidchlorid
25,0 g (0,3 mol) Dimethylaminoacetonitril wurden in 100 ml Dimethylacetamid vorgelegt und unter Rühren bei Raumtemperatur 23,4 g (0,15 mol) Bromchlorpropan zugetropft. Das Reaktionsgemisch wurde 6 Stunden bei 80°C gerührt und dann auf Raumtemperatur abgekühlt. Der ausgefallene Feststoff wurde abfiltriert und dreimal mit je 50 ml Dimethylacetamid gewaschen. Der Filterkuchen wurde im Vakuum bei 600C getrocknet. Man erhielt 14,1 g (0,043 moO N.N.N'.N'-Tetramethyl-N.N'-di^yanomethyO-I .S-propandiammonium- bromidchlorid als weißen Feststoff, entsprechend einer Ausbeute von 29 %. Fp.: 178 - 180°C 1H-NMR (D2O): δ = 4,75 (2H, s); δ = 3,75 (4H, t); δ = 3,45 (12H1 s); δ = 2,57 - 2,51 (2H, m);

Beispiel 4: Synthese von N.N.N'.N'-Tetramethyl-N.N'-di^yanomethylJ-i ,5- pentan-diammoniumdibromid
41 ,7 g (0,5 mol) Dimethylaminoacetonitril wurden in 200 ml N,N-Dimethylacetamid vorgelegt und unter Rühren bei Raumtemperatur 57,5 g (0,25 mol) Dibrompentan zugetropft. Das Reaktionsgemisch wurde 5 Stunden bei 600C gerührt und anschließend auf 5°C abgekühlt. Der ausgefallene Feststoff wurde abfiltriert und mit N,N-Dimethylacetamid gewaschen. Der Filterkuchen wurde bei 600C im Vakuum getrocknet. Man erhielt 30,4 g (0,076mol) N.N.N'.N'-Tetramethyl-N.N1- di(cyanomethyl)-1 ,5-pentandiammoniumdibromid als weißen Feststoff, entsprechend einer Ausbeute von 30,5 %. Fp.: 175°C (Zersetzung) 1H-NMR (D2O): δ = 4,75 (2H, s); δ = 3,62 (4H, t); δ = 3,36 (12H, s); δ = 1 ,99 - 1 ,95 (4H, m); δ = 1 ,55 - 1,52 (2H, m) IR (KBr):

Beispiel 5: Bleichleistung von bifunktionellen Ammoniumnitrilen
Die Bleichleistung der Cyanomethylammoniumsalze wurde in einem Linitest-Gerät (Fa. Heraus) bei 2O0C, 400C und 6O0C untersucht. Hierzu wurden 2 g/l eines bleichmittelfreien G rund wasch mittels (WMP, WFK, Krefeld) und 1 g/l Natriumperborat Monohydrat (Fa. Degussa) in Wasser der Härtestufe 3 gelöst.
Anschließend wurden 200 mg/l Aktivator zugegeben. Die Waschzeit betrug 30 min. Anschließend wurden die Gewebestücke mit Wasser gespült, getrocknet und gebügelt. Als Bleichtestgewebe dienten Tee BC-1, Curry BC-4 und Grass CS- 8 (WFK Testgewebe GmbH, Krefeld) auf Baumwolle. Als Bleichergebnis wurde die Remissionsdifferenz, gemessen mit einem Elrepho-Gerät, nach der Wäsche im Vergleich zum Gewebe, gewaschen mit 2 g/l WMP und 1 g/l Natriumperborat- Monohydrat, gewertet.

Es wurden Bleichmittelzusammensetzungen mit den erfindungsgemäßen kationischen Nitrilverbindungen der erfindungsgemäßen Beispiele 1 und 2 sowie der Vergleichssubstanzen 3 und 4 hergestellt und getestet.
Die Verbindungen 1 bis 4 haben folgende Struktur:

Die Untersuchungen zeigen, dass die erfindungsgemäßen kationischen Nitrile an allen Anschmutzungen eine bessere Bleichwirkung entfalten als die Aktivatoren des Standes der Technik.
Weitere nützliche Eigenschaften der kationischen Nitrile sind geringe Farbschädigung und geringe Faserschädigung.
Claims
1. Verfahren zur Herstellung von bifunktionellen Ammoniumnitrilen der Formel (1 )
NC - CIV+N - K - N + CH2 - CN 2X
worin K eine Gruppe der Formeln
R j11 rR}2, | R— 13 und R I4 j :e, weils einzeln Wasserstoff, Hydroxyl, d- bis C24-Alkyl, C2- bis
C24-Alkenyl, Ci-C4-Alkoxy-Ci-C4-Alkyl, Phenyl, Cr bis C4-Al kylphenyl, Carboxyl,
Sulfonyl, Cyanomethyl, Cyano bedeuten; R5 und R6 jeweils unabhängig voneinander eine gerad- oder verzweigtkettige Cr bis C24-Alkyl-, Alkenyl- oder Alkylethergruppe, und
X ein Anion, die Variable n eine ganze Zahl von 1 bis 16 bedeuten; dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man ein Dialkylaminoacetonitril der allgemeinen Formel (2)
in einem polaren, aprotischen Lösungsmittel mit einer Dihalogenalkylverbindung der allgemeinem Formel (3)
X - K - X (3) umsetzt, wobei R5, R6, K und X die oben genannten Bedeutungen haben.
2. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 , dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass als Dialkylaminoacetonitril Dimethylaminoacetonitril, Diethylaminoacetonitril, Methyl- Ethylaminoacetonitril, Di-n-propylaminoacetonitril, Di-n-butylaminoacetonitril oder Di-n-hexylaminoacetonitril verwendet werden.
3. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 , dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass als Dialkylaminoacetonitril Dimethylaminoacetonitril und Diethylaminoacetonitril verwendet werden.
4. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 , dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass als Dialkylaminoacetonitril Dimethylaminoacetonitril verwendet wird.
5. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 , dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Menge an Dialkylaminoacetonitril 1 ,8 bis 2,5 Moläquivalente bezogen auf die Verbindung der Formel (3) beträgt.
6. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 , dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Menge an Dialkylaminoacetonitril 2,0 bis 2,3 Moläquivalente bezogen auf die Verbindung der Formel (3) beträgt.
7. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 , dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man mit Essigsäureethylester, Essigsäure-n-propylester, Essigsäure-i-propylester, Essigsäure-n-butylester, Essigsäure-i-butylester und deren Gemische, Dimethylsulfoxid, N-Methylpyrrolidon, 1 ,3-Dimethylimidazolidin-2-on als Lösungsmittel arbeitet.
8. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 , dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man mit Essigsäureethylester, Dimethylformamid und Dimethylacetamid als Lösungsmittel arbeitet.
9. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 , dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man mit Dimethylacetamid als Lösungsmittel arbeitet.
10. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 , dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man bei 20 bis 1200C arbeitet.
11. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 , dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man bei 30 bis 1000C arbeitet.
12. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 , dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man bei 40 bis 80°C arbeitet.
13. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 , dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Reaktionsdauer 1 bis 10 Stunden beträgt.
14. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 , dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Reaktionsdauer 2 bis 9 Stunden beträgt.
15. Verfahren, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Reaktionsdauer 4 bis 8 Stunden beträgt.
16. Wasch-, Reinigungs- und Desinfektionsmittel enthaltend ein bifunktionelles Ammoniumnitril der allgemeinen Formel (1 ), hergestellt nach Anspruch 1.
17. Maschinengeschirrspülmittel enthaltend ein bifunktionelles Ammoniumnitril der allgemeinen Formel (1 ), hergestellt nach Anspruch 1.
18. Waschmittelformulierungen enthaltend ein bifunktionelles Ammoniumnitril der allgemeinen Formel (1 ), hergestellt nach Anspruch 1.
