Definitions

  • the present invention relates generally to the field of hoisting apparatus and, more particularly, to tower cranes. Even more especially, this invention relates to an assembly consisting of a counter-arrow and its ballast for a tower crane.
  • a tower crane comprises, in its upper part, an arrow used to lift a load and, opposite the arrow, a counter-boom equipped with a ballast, which serves to balance the load. mass of the boom and at least a portion of the mass of the load lifted.
  • the ballast carried by the counter-arrow must therefore be variable and adapted, depending on the length of the arrow.
  • the ballast consists of several blocks generally made of concrete, masses and adequate dimensions, the number and characteristics of these blocks to be judiciously chosen for each use case.
  • Ballast blocks used to counterbalance a couple, acting in a vertical plane it is preferable to place them as far as possible from the mast of the crane, in order to obtain a greater balancing torque for a minimum total weight of these ballast blocks.
  • the upper part of the crane consisting of the boom and the counter-boom, being rotatable about the vertical axis of the mast, it is exerted on the ballast, during the rotation of this upper rotating part, a centrifugal force that tends to slide the ballast blocks towards the rear end of the counter-boom.
  • a solution generally used is to raise the rear part of the counter-boom, so as to take advantage of gravity to maintain in position these ballast blocks.
  • the documents EP 0379448 A1 and EP 1630122 A1 describe other examples of cranes, with ballast consisting of several ballast blocks.
  • the document EP 0379448 A1 shows a luffing jib crane, the ballast of which consists of several hung up elements; these elements are simultaneously movable along the counter-boom, but it is not expected to remove one or more elements to reduce the total weight of the ballast.
  • the document EP 1630122 A1 is described a mobile crane, the rotating part carries, at the rear, several blocks of suspended ballast, comprising more or less thick blocks, which cling to each other, a device being provided for taking a block on the ground ballast and to attach it to the ballast blocks already in place. In this case too, it is only possible to add or remove a block of ballast from the back.
  • the present invention aims to eliminate the drawbacks, mentioned above, current solutions, and it is therefore intended to provide, for a tower crane, a set consisting of an against-arrow and its ballast that allows, d on the one hand, to obtain a higher torque / weight ratio for all the ballast blocks, and on the other hand, to manufacture a counter-arrow in a more economical manner than at present.
  • the subject of the invention is an assembly consisting of a counter-arrow and its ballast, for a tower crane, the ballast consisting of several blocks generally of concrete, arranged one after the other on the rear part of the counter-boom, this assembly being characterized essentially by the fact that said rear part comprises, on both its sides, a succession of crenellations, while the ballast blocks have lateral trunnions which can be engaged in the crenellations.
  • the invention proposes a device in which each block of ballast is positioned and maintained individually, in a simple manner, on the rear part of the counter-boom, which avoids any sliding of the ballast blocks forward, and allows , regardless of the number of these ballast blocks, keep them closer to the rear end of the counter-boom, to have a maximum torque / weight ratio in all cases.
  • the addition or removal of ballast blocks can now be done from the front, not from the rear.
  • the slots are formed on the upper edge of two side plates fixed, in particular by welds, on the rear portions of longitudinal sections of the against-arrow.
  • the two side plates have a triangular shape, in particular elongated rectangle triangle, the slots being formed on the inclined side of these side plates, so that the successive blocks of ballast are vertically offset compared to others.
  • the two side plates have an elongated rectangular shape, the slots being formed on the substantially horizontal upper edge of these side plates, so that all the ballast blocks are arranged substantially on the same horizontal level.
  • the rear edges of the two side plates are joined by a rear closure plate, for stopping the ballast block located furthest rear, this block of ballast retaining itself the following blocks.
  • each side plate and optionally its rear edge, may have notches which limit the length of the welds securing the side plate to the corresponding longitudinal profile of the counter-arrow and, where appropriate, to the rear closure plate .
  • the set considered comprises ballast blocks of at least two distinct lengths (the "length” to be understood here as being the size of the blocks of ballast measured parallel to the longitudinal profiles of the counter-arrow), and the slots are arranged to ensure the positioning of these at least two types of ballast blocks.
  • the assembly object of the invention comprises first ballast blocks of smaller length, and other ballast blocks of greater length, in particular of a length multiple of that of the first ballast blocks, while the slots are spaced forwards, with a step corresponding to the ballast blocks of smaller length, and towards the rear, by a larger step which corresponds to the ballast blocks of greater length, so as to impose an investment of these ballast blocks of greater length, therefore of higher weight, closer to the rear end of the counter-arrow.
  • FIGS. 2 and 3 show the rear portion 4 of the counter-boom 2 of a tower crane, in a first embodiment of the present invention.
  • arrow 2 is, here again, consisting of two longitudinal sections 3, for example of section "U".
  • two longitudinal profiles 3 are respectively welded two thin side plates 7, in the general shape of an elongated rectangle triangle, which extend in parallel vertical planes, above the level of the profiles 3.
  • each side plate 7 has notches 8, formed at intervals, which limit the total length of the welds fixing the side plate 7 to the corresponding longitudinal profile 3.
  • rear closure plate 9 which extends in a vertical plane transverse to the two side plates 7.
  • the two vertical edges of the rear closure plate 9 are welded to the sides respective vertical plates of the two side plates 7. Again, these plates 7 may have notches 10 limiting the length of the welds.
  • each lateral plate 7 in other words its hypotenuse (with reference to its rectangle-shaped triangle shape), has a crenellated shape, with a succession of crenellations 11, here of triangular shape, cut along its length.
  • ballast blocks 6a and 6b have two lateral trunnions 12, which allow them to be held by engagement in two corresponding slots 11 of the lateral plates 7.
  • the slots 11 located furthest back on these side plates 7 are spaced by a step which corresponds to the triple length 3L of the ballast blocks 6b, so that these heavier blocks 6b are placed closer to the end. rear of the jib 2, the end block 6b being stopped by the rear closure plate 9.
  • ballast blocks 6 located further forward on the side plates 7 are spaced at a pitch which corresponds to the simple length L of the ballast blocks 6a, so that these lighter blocks are placed towards the middle and the front of said plates 7 , by being present in more or less number depending on the total mass desired for the ballast. 5.
  • the figure 2 illustrates a ballast composition comprising, from back to front, two adjacent ballast blocks 6b of triple length 3L, followed by a single ballast block 6a of single length L.
  • the figure 4 illustrates very schematically another embodiment of the present invention, wherein the two side plates 7 have an elongated rectangular overall shape.
  • the crenellations 11 are formed on the substantially horizontal upper edge of each of the two lateral plates 7. All the ballast blocks 6, held by engagement of their lateral trunnions 12 in the crenellations 11, are thus arranged substantially on the same horizontal level , while the configuration of the side plates 7 according to the figures 2 and 3 leads to a vertically offset arrangement of successive ballast blocks 6.
